RaRa, look into it again, the new help to buy scheme might help you out: www.gov.uk/affordable-home-ownership-schemes/help-to-buy-equity-loans

So sorry Tanny - will be crossing fingers for you in the future. PJen am crossing fingers now - and sending love.

It's a tricky business.

LondonSuperTrooper · 17/10/2013 12:39

Tanny & Jen I am so sorry to read your sad news. I'm thinking of you both.

Hang in there ladies.

MTMD · 17/10/2013 12:41

PJ :((( But like the girls said, don't loose all hope just yet.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2013 12:50

Oh, PJen Sad. I have had bleeding before and it's been ok. I really hope this isn't the end for you. Will you go to EPU?

Clutter we are NOT old!!! Just experienced.

Tiny tear, yes, am thinking about volunteering at Parkrun and putting something back as my husband often does. Would be good to do now before I get too big and heavy. I'm really hoping to avoid GD again but don't know if that's even possible. I didn't have it with my first pregnancy so maybe there is a chance. Do you know much about it? Did you have a big baby? Mine was induced on her due date and she was 9lb 8 so I'd not like one very much bigger than that!

Stacks · 17/10/2013 12:53

Well, it's official, a real expensive pre stick just said I'm pregnant. The Internet cheapie ones I was using the last couple of days were a bit inconclusive.

June 2014 it is then! I've got one DS who's nearly 10 months now. We're still breastfeeding, so I didn't really expect to get pregnant as quickly as I have - 1st month trying. I've had one period in 18m, and now won't have another for at least another 9 months I hope.

So sorry to hear about those with bleeding. I know I've not really met you all yet, but I still feel for you at what must be a terrible time.

TinyTear · 17/10/2013 12:56

Lady, my baby was small, but born bigger than she should have , if it makes sense.

She was born on the 50th centile but then settled on the 9th and has been there ever since - dinky girl...

I heard there is 50/50 chance of getting GD again in a subsequent pregnancy, so let's see what happens

I was induced but ended up in EMCS. I am thinking of going for ELCS this time...

Yeah, I was run director in my parkrun till late in the pregnancy, but had to ask people to help me carry the equipment. Nowadays I have resigned from RD and I tend to do timing...
Which is your local parkrun? I do Hampstead Heath

kittygirl33 · 17/10/2013 13:04

Hi everyone,
Can I join the thread please? I'm a newbie to both Mumsnet and pregnancy, but I've been lurking for a while! I got my BFP on October 1 so I think I'm just over six weeks along. It's my first ever pregnancy so I'm terrified and excited in equal measures, with no idea what to expect. So far I've been feeling ok, just tired and sore boobs and a bit of tummy discomfort (used to that as I'm a long-term IBS sufferer!) I have my first midwife appt on October 29

LadyGoneGaga, I used to be a keen runner but I've been hampered this summer by a hamstring injury. I'm still running a bit though, but I've slowed it right down (8 and half/nine minute miles) and really only running 3/4 miles at a time. I'm finding that cycling is more comfortable at the moment, so I've been out doing some non-technical mountain biking and a bit of swimming too.

So sorry for everyone who has had sad news so far.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2013 13:15

TinyTear we do Leamington Spa. It's a nice route, bit of a sharp hill in the middle though. What's Hampstead like for hills?

Welcome Kitty, the first is uber-exciting! Sounds like you are quite speedy. I ran the National Road Racing Relay's with my club last weekend before finding out (probably whilst implanting!) but think that will be my last competitive run for a while. Going to miss racing Sad. I have a place at Brighton marathon next year and so will be deferring. We've put a childseat on DH's mountain bike so think am going to take my two year old out on it for a pootle along the canal.

Welcome Stacks. We weren't really trying, but not really preventing either and have been going backwards and forwards about a third for ages and leaving it up to fate. So I'm a bit shocked as thought we weren't near the egg. Your two DC's should be really close in terms of playing togethr and being into the same things. And should be too young for the horrible jealousy too I hope.

ohcluttergotme · 17/10/2013 13:16

PJen, so sorry. Could you go to your early pregnancy centre and have them take your bloods or do a scan?
I ha massive bleeding at 6 weeks with my son and he stayed in there.
Fingers crossed for you xx

TinyTear · 17/10/2013 13:20

Hampstead is very hilly. some better runners than me say it adds about 1 minute to their times. But it's very pretty.

adaloveslace · 17/10/2013 13:20

Tanny and PJen, I'm not sure if you're still reading, but I just wanted to say I'm so, so sorry for you both going through a bleed and really hope it's just a blip and not the end.

Wow, this board is filling up fast. Welcome everyone new.

It's been a long day here in Sydney. There are something like 90 bushfires burning in the area, 35 of them out of control. The whole city is covered in a blanket of smoke, and we're sitting right under it. I just had to clean the ash particles out of my bathroom sink. DH is away and I'm feeling very protective of the bean and the bigger beanie babies.

GillyBillyWilly · 17/10/2013 13:47

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well and sorry to those who are having a rough time.

I've taken the day off work sick today. Woke up at 4am feeling sick and struggled to get back to sleep. Have been feeling nauseous and dizzy all morning and still in bed now although not feeling quite as bad as I was earlier! Bleeeeehhhhh Sad

Snowlet · 17/10/2013 14:39

Hi ladies.... jeez, it's an unhappy time here at the moment, so so sorry to the ladies having bleeding/issues, I really really hope you can come out the other side and everything is okay

Lady I'm a distance runner and struggling with the lack of running at the moment, it's mostly due to nausea and fatigue for me right now. Last month I ran a four day stage race from Leeds to Liverpool (128 miles, furthest I'd ever gone) and I think the night I came back was (TMI) the night of conception. So I know how it feels to get to a great place fitness-wise and then feel it all slipping away again!

Had my booking in appt yesterday with the midwife, she's lovely and we get on. What she did: LOTS of paperwork, asked where I want to give birth, gave advice about food/supplements/etc. and took my blood pressure. That's it! I've got another appt in three weeks where she'll take bloods. She didn't even give me a pregnancy test!

Lots of positivity to everyone right now, sounds like between the sickness, the fatigue, the life changes, the bleeding, the worry, we all need it....

Snowlet · 17/10/2013 14:40

Oh, and a huge welcome to the new BFPs on the thread :)

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2013 14:54

I always think it seems odd that they just take your word for it, Snowlet. But maybe they check later when they do your bloods? In any case you'd struggle to fake a scan! Your race sounds fantastic, bloody well done on completing it! Have you done ultras before? Furthest I've been is marathon and not done that since before having DD. I focussed on bringing times down for shorter distances (5, 10k and Half marathons) this year. The good thing is that the fitness is always easier to regain than it was to gain the first time so it will all come back afterwards. Just a bit frustrating to have to lose it though.

My Doctor's surgery are saying 10-12 weeks for booking which is much later than my last pregnancies. Seems a long time away. Really want to get the scan done by Christmas if possible. Is anyone else having to wait so long for booking appt?

MTMD · 17/10/2013 15:04

LadyGoneGaga (loving the name!) do you need to go via your Gp? I'm told its all self referrals over here. Planning to fill out hospital form tonight, if I'm not too tired. Thus far all I think of is bed and sleep, as if any grain of energy has been sucked away. somewhat slacking at work today Blush

TinyTear · 17/10/2013 15:09

it's strange how different it is from area to area.

i have my booking appointment next week at 8 weeks and the scan then on the 19th November at 12 weeks...

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2013 15:26

MTMD here the Midwives work out of the GP's surgery so you have to go down, fill out a form and then the receptionist passes on to the Midwife. Am hoping the 10-12 weeks estimate is just to cover them if they are running late as presumably the Nuchal scan will need to be booked in before that as is date dependant. I've flagged up the Gest Diabetes thing too in case they need to refer to hospital more quickly. When I had DD the consultant told me I should have a GTT before TTC again as uncontrolled blood sugars in early pregnancy can cause probs with the baby, but obviously I didn't and just want to talk to them sooner rather than later.

ladybird0704 · 17/10/2013 15:32

Hi can someone remove me from the list please. been bleeding since the weekend and had it confirmed today that its a miscarriage. good luck to the next 8 months for you all!

Penguin13 · 17/10/2013 15:37

Oh Tanny and PJen I am keeping everything crossed for both of you that's it's just a scare and not the end.

Feeling a bit fed up today, my midwife hasn't phoned as promised so as I'm 8 weeks today I called her and got an answerphone message that she's not in till Mon. It's just stressing me out as a first timer not even having a midwife appointment let alone a scan booking.

Sorry for the moan ladies I think the lack of sleep is getting to me Sad

ohcluttergotme · 17/10/2013 15:45

Ladybird so sorry for you Hmm

wispaxmas · 17/10/2013 16:02

So sorry, ladybird. I'll update the list tomorrow.

I've finally got a booking in appt. They did post it to us, ignoring the GP's explicit instructions to call my mobile to schedule the appt as I would be abroad. What douches. Anyways, it's all booked in for 8 Nov, when I will be 10+3, and it just happens to be the day before a wedding we're going to, so it works out date-wise perfectly, we were coming back to London then anyways!

Really sorry to hear that, Ladybird. Miscarriage is an awful thing to have to go through. Hope you're back soon with a stickier one.

Liquidambar · 17/10/2013 16:29

ladybird and tanny I'm so sorry. Thinking of you Flowers

pjen sorry to hear about the bleeding. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.
