Hi to all the new ladies on this thread. Hope you are all well. Wow Kat your gonna be an aunty. Is this your sisters first baby too? Were not here to judge people on this thread. Were all in the same boat, young ,old, first timers or many timers. Any questions you need to ask or just grumps you need to get off your chest thats what were all here for.
Thanks so much to the ladies I met at Pizza Express tonight for maing me feel welcome. My dh kept saying how nice you all seemed and he wishes you all the best with your new additions in October. Ds was fast asleep by the time we got home so just put his pj's on and put him straight to bed. Which is where Im off too now. Night all. Will try to chat tomm in between presant buying and party preparing for my ds 11th birthday. xx

Mummy2Toby · 21/08/2006 22:55

Hi all - I have left it a bit late to post on here, but I normally post on the due November board - my due date is 29th October, but as my ds was late I figured so would this one I hope that everyone is doing fine (sorry haven't been able to read a lot of the thread) and if you have another meet up, I would love to come - I live in Essex and everybody on the November thread lives miles away!! I think I could manage London. Anyway, Take Care and I hope to pop in again soon, if that's okay

XxXKatXxX · 21/08/2006 23:26

Hey no..its her 3rd child!lol im an aunty yet again and soon to be godmum again!
and thanks!, everyones made me feel really good and really welcome and its really lovely.
im off to bed now, thanks again

marthahm · 22/08/2006 05:41

hello kat,mummy2toby and chilligirl.
kat, there was a really good program on radio 4 the other day about having babies younger (being younger than me you're probably too cool for radio 4!-i'm 29 but feel going on 50 with this pg as have started liking radio 4 and knitting, bit scary. anyway on the program it was really uplifting that the girls had had their babies and gone back to school and got great jobs they enjoyed and were fantastic mums.
chilligirl one of my best mates had her baby in edinburgh a year ago and said the hospital and staff were amazing.
sorry to all of you i missed at the meet up. the cricket was cancelled in the end but i was too knackered to get myself to oxford circus by 6pm.-sympathies to whiffy! was thinking of you all and lusting after pizza but instead decided to have heated discussions with dh over curtains in baby's room-obviously i lost the plot when he pleaded tiredness to get out of putting 2nd hand curtains up before lady comes today to make them right size-sorry, deeply tedious detail.
anyway, as you can see from timing of this post i am sharing the rubbish nights sleep with you ladies. if i'm not waking to go to the loo i'm shovelling cereal into my face in front of the computer.
the baby's moving is getting really uncomfortable now. i often end up brought to a stand still in the street by kicks around the middle of my tummy or feeling like it's trying to lever my ribs off at the sides.
have my check up later today. hope all is still going ok. i'll be interested to know where the baby is, it seems to me that it's often facing forwards so i hope it kicks that habit before d day.
am doing the hypnobirthing thing too. i agree with the others it seems really good. am v calm and looking forward to the birth. if nothing else, at least this will have been useful. still quite doubtful will be able to keep me calm during the labour. but, i saw a friend of mine who's had 5 kids and she assures me the worst bit of the pain is like being severely constipated and having to go to the loo-after 9 months of pg i definitely know what that's like.
well, i'm going to try sleeping again now.

XxXKatXxX · 22/08/2006 07:55

I listen to orchard FM most of the time unless mum takes control of the radio and changes t by which point we end up turning it off after 2 minutes anyway! yea useless young mums is such a bitchy stereotyipcal catagory cause half the time its total bo**ocks!
How is everyone today?
xx

whiffy · 22/08/2006 08:16

Good morning all. Hope everyone who went enjoyed the pizzas.

Has a rotten night and ended up getitng driven in to the office at 5.15 this morning by DH as couldn't face the train and needed to ensure we didn't get stuck in traffic. Having tough old time of it as am starting to feel really rough so thought if I didn't clear up the final things on my desk this week there was no way I'd be able to do it next week. So am sitting here desperately trying to clear everything. Not fun - esp as I'm already officially on maternity leave so don't even get paid for it.....

Have had bad relapse of SPD and right leg (or to be more specific, right bum) is more or less refusing to play ball when it comes to walking/stairs/turning over in bed. I keep forgetting when I stand up frpm chairs and have twice nearly fallen over it would be very funny if it didn't hurt like buggery. Will try to get an osteo appt while I'm in London as suspect I will be 'at home' for rest of duration.

I did the hypno thing last time and think it worked. I managed to get through 48 hours of labour & childbirth on that and gas and air, and as I'm a coward by nature, I think this must have had something to do with the hypnotherapy. Also used hypno to give up smoking a few years back and that worked a treat too.

Gingeme, I can see you're an old hand at all of this - there's no way I'd have had the energy to get DS into PJ's before putting into bed I would probably have taken his trousers off and left it at that - all the slummy mummy habits seem so much more attractive when it gets past 10pm! Very sorry to have missed meeting you and DH last night (and sorry for not meeting the others too).

Talking of slummy mummies have had idea to make my own xmas cards this year with various shameful and hopefully amusing slummy mummy themed jokes. Thought through some designs when I couldn;t sleep last night so will come up with some definitives and then run ideas past you all if you don't mind. Think it will be so much more fun than normal cards this year and a friend of mine has her own business and can run them through and print them for me. Watch this space.

Anyway, I've a few nice work emails to be getting on with...Ho hum.

BENDYB · 22/08/2006 09:24

mornin every1! hope every1 ok!
hello 2 new people!
Kat- has the new baby got a name yet? x

Swizzler · 22/08/2006 09:57

Whiffy: sorry to hear you're feeling rough. Try and take it as easy as you can - difficult, I know. I hope the osteopathy helps with your SPD. We missed you last night, but there's always the possibility of post-baby meet-ups

Tigerlion: any news on the chickenpox? Hope your ds isn't suffering too badly. Sorry you and majormoo couldn't make it either. Maybe next time?

Welcome to chilligirl and mummy2toby - aren't there a lot of us now?

It was great to meet up with some of you last night. Gingeme: your ds is not only gorgeous but incredibly well-behaved - will be looking for some tips . Sorry you had a late night back - should have thought to check when you needed to leave. Hope you're not suffering for it today. Oh, and best of luck for the birthday celebrations: are you having lots of hyper boys around for the party?

XxXKatXxX · 22/08/2006 10:02

BENDYB · 22/08/2006 10:35

XxXKatXxX · 22/08/2006 10:45

Yea my hairs gone really greasy lol not nice, i think im gunna do it this evening purple! haha lol i wouldnt be so worried if it wasnt for the fact i have gry roots cause of the amount i do dye it but ill do it before sister gets here cause of fumes may not be too good for newborn.
So what're you up to today then? and do you have msn?
