glad you had a good night out. I have quite a few meetings up in London before finishing on 21st Sept so hopefully will be able to come if you have another pizza meet up.

Nice name Kat for your new niece.

Whiffy you sound like you are having a tough time. Hope it eases soon.

Welcome Chilligirl and Mum2toby.
Mum2Toby I am an Essex girl (!), though I live in Brighton, so am often over that way as my family are still there.

Re hair dye-I had my colour done a couple of months ago, so I hope it is OK!! Had mine done at the hairdressers so not sure if there is a difference if you do it yourselves.

I am feeling a bit like I have turned a corner in the pregnancy anyway. I actually bought a couple of baby grows for my hospital bag yesterday and it was really exciting buying boy's stuff. Last Saturday was a year since we ended my last pregnancy, so I think in a way I had not allowed myself to think past that date.

Good afternoon ladies. Just got back from Toy'R'Us having to buy an excited 11 year old his birthday presant. Yesh got a few of ds friends coming round luckily my parents are coming and my sister too so will have lots of help with them all.
Of course you can have any advice on toddlers you want! But you have to remember not all toddlers are the same.
Well done and congrats to your sister Kat. What an unusual name. Never heard of that. What names have you thought of for your bump?
My heartburn was pretty wicked last night woke up 3 time to swig the Gaviscon.
Yes Kay it is safe to dye your hair when preg. ASk your hairdresser to be sure as she might need to use a different product on you for now. If your using a home dye the majority of those are safe during pregnancy.
Hows your little one Tigerlion? Hope hes not too poorly with the pox. My ds didnt do too bad. If your desperate put him in the bath with a generous sprinkle of bicarbonate of soda and let him soak. Realy does ease the itching. Piriton syrup is safe from a year old too and will make him a bit sleepy so will help him too sleep too.
Well Id better get on and start putting bits out. So glad Ive got a balloon pump!!!!

Hi All
Hope you're all well today. It was great to meet Gingeme (&DH&DS) and Clon and to see Swizzler again. Sorry to have missed Tigerlion, Whiffy, Marthahm and Majormoo (and everyone else who couldn't make it.) I hope today is treating you better, Whiffy. Gingeme's DS is a really good advertisement for children, so anyone who's worried - keep in touch with Gingeme.

Welcome to Mummy2Toby and Chilligirl.

Congratulations on being nearly an auntie again, Kat. And hope the party goes well Gingeme.

I feel for you ladies not sleeping very well. I sleep so well, I'm worried about not waking in the night to feed the baby. Although I woke up in the night for my usual wee break and then worried that I hadn't felt the baby move and didn't feel pregnant anymore. It was really weird and a bit scary. Fortunately, LO started moving around again quite soon. Phew!

glad to hear that those of you who managed to get to Pizza Express last night had a good time.
whiffy, sounds like you're having a rough time of it. at the risk of sounding like your mother, you really shouldn't be worrying about work at a time like this - particularly if you're not even getting paid for it. get home girl and put your feet up. can't believe you're already thinking about Christmas cards by the way!!
Tigerlion, hope you're putting your feet up too while your PILs take care of DS for a bit. How's he doing?
DogMum, I seem to be sleeping really well too - apart from the statutory loo trips - long may it continue. But don't worry, nature is an amazing thing... you won't sleep through your baby's cries. (Much as you may want to after a while!!)
hi chilligirl and mummy2toby, welcome to the thread.
majormoo, that must be an important milestone for you. - getting out there and buying stuff for the new baby. I haven't bought a single thing yet - but if it's a girl I'm already pretty well equipped. We shall see...
Enjoy the party Gingeme

Swizzler · 22/08/2006 16:15

Quick admin q: is it time to start another thread? This one's getting on the long side.

I'm willing to give it a go, but don't blame me if it goes horribly wrong!

nowanearlyNicemum · 22/08/2006 16:34

was thinking the same thing Swizzler - go for it!!

BENDYB · 22/08/2006 17:31

yeah start another 1! this 1 sooooooo long!

DogMum · 22/08/2006 17:34

Yep - good idea Swizzler.

Oh and Marthahm, I listen to radio4 too (although didn't hear that programme) and also knit (and crochet) and party (at least before I became too unweildy), but I reckon I've got at least another twenty years before I start listening to the Archers.

wuzzlefraggle · 22/08/2006 17:57

hi to all the new ladies

yeah, i think that a new thread would be a great idea!

hope that every1 is doing ok

girlygale1 · 22/08/2006 20:49

Hi everyone - welcome to new mums, a new thread would be great - although I wouldn't have a clue how to start it!

I can't pretend to be a young mum - although I keep telling myself I am young!!! - 32 on the day I'm due to give birth, great birthday that would be! Labour pains for a pressy!!!

I noticed that a couple of you live in the Sussex area - I'm in Crawley, is there anyone who lives near? - Brighton is only 20 mins away.

I too have been getting my bag ready - am getting really excited to meet my new arrival, and am hating pregnancy, just want it over and done with. Then theres the leaky nipples, heavy bleeding, jelly belly, sleep deprivation and arguements with dh to look forward too!!!

Oh joy.

Dh is doing well at the moment though - just come in with a Mcflurry for me!!!! (serious jelly belly to look forward too!)

nowanearlyNicemum · 22/08/2006 21:02

have created new thread -
highly creatively named Due October 2006 - part 4
see you all over there...

LeilaB · 12/10/2006 16:47

I wonder if any of you may be able to help me.

My name is Leila and as well as working at Great Ormond Street Hospital I am beginning my child psychotherapy training at the Tavistock Clinic. A requirement of this NHS training course is to observe a baby and mother (or father) for 1 hour per week for 2 years. The purpose is to observe the development of the baby and to train me in observation skills.

It is important that I observe a very new-born baby, which means that I am looking for a baby due in October or November and living in North London.

If anyone would be interested or has any questions they can contact me on: [email protected] or I can give you my phone number.

Thank you
Leila
