Hello everyone, and welcome to all the new babies.
Congratulations vbab... morethan1...love the name.
I've been lying around with a sick headache for days....can't really complain though, this pg has been a breeze till now and only a week or so to go.

How/where are you..666mummy?

slinkstah · 22/06/2006 13:45

congratulations to everyone that has had their baby already, i can't beleive how few of us there are left!
diddle went in hospital for her induction and we have heard no word from her dh yet.
its my due date today! never thought i would make it as i had a cervical stitch to keep the pg so assumed that when that was taken out baby would come straight away but he hasn't!
I am however dilated to 6cm and have been that way for at least a week, but any contractions are just fizzling out so labour may well be far off

anyone getting very nervous about the birth?

666mummy · 22/06/2006 20:15

HELLLLLLLOOOOOO?!"?!!?!?!?!?!
BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT!?!?!?!??!
AT LONG LAST IV HAD MY BABY?!!??
A BEAUTIFUL LIL BOY?!!?!?
FLIP OVER TO BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS TO READ WHAT I EXPERIENCED......

Laura032004 · 22/06/2006 22:45

Lovely name morethan1

Congratulations on Ryan's arrival vbab78. Really pleased to hear that they managed to get him out without a c/s. Hope he lets you get a bit of sleep tonight!

AdelaideS - sorry to hear you've not been feeling too great. Has the headache gone now?

slinkstah - Not getting too nervous yet. Just excited! I've planned so hard for a home birth, that I'm just hoping that everything goes to plan. Fingers crossed. I've done all I can in any case. 6cm! I hope the last 4 come easily. Keep us updated on Diddle I hope she's OK.

666mummy - congratulations on the arrival of Airon. I hope you feel better soon, you sound like you had a really rough time. Have you got plenty of help around?

Well, not much to report here. The MW did a check today (39+1) and the baby is now deeply engaged. I suspected something was happening as I had about 6 hours of contractions yesterday, but they fizzled out in the evening. Just hoping I don't go 2+ weeks over like I did with ds!

Hope everyone else is feeling well. There must be lots of people having/had babies as the thread is still very quiet. Good luck to everyone still waiting, not long now!

vbab78 · 23/06/2006 09:17

Thanks Laura for your well wishes. Fingers crossed that you don't go overdue.

Ryan slept and fed well first night home but last night he was soooo hard to put down there was something up with him but me and DH are still a little puzzled as to what being first timers after doing all the normal checks .

When he did go down though he slept for about 4 and a half hours, then when he did wake up this morning he had a 3oz feed which is more than normal, filled his nappy to capacity and has been asleep since. Fingers crossed tonight will be better.

Anyone heard anything from diddle?

Laura032004 · 23/06/2006 13:05

slinkstah posted this morning on the pg after m/c thread:

"i have woken up, in pain-ish, could it be labour ?

oh shit i think it is, its hurting in my back- i thought i'd come online and time them as i have a contraction timer, better than a watch, and i can't sleep now anyway.

if this is labour i am sccccaaarreeed, i was just discussing how inconvenient it would be to have the baby over the next 4 days as i have my ds party and birthday. things will work out i guess

oh god it labour alright sbhitttt thats kilss
ok whatt to do-wake dh now? or wait?
he will pAnic - i am panicing oh shit my midwife is off shift arghh there are others on shift though.
when shall i call, now or in a bit? why am i asking you are all in bed asleep
right im going to wake dh. and maybe fill the pool.
seeya soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

And from reading the same thread, it seems that diddle is going to have an elective c/s this afternoon. I think they tried to induce her, but it didn't work.

Thinking of you both Hope everything goes well for you

Congratulations to slinkstah & 666mummy on the safe arrival of your boys

slinkstah - can't wait to hear the full birth story - sounds fantastic!

bamboozleslover - Welcome to the Junies group. Hope you have a safe and easy delivery

666mummy · 23/06/2006 18:25

feeling v.tearful today.....might be because partner has gone on a holiday abroad leaving me at home with lil airon.....i miss him....the only help iv got is an interferring mother in law?!!?!?....

Laura032004 · 23/06/2006 21:13

Oh 666mummy, not surprised you are feeling tearful. Did he have to go? I don't think I could have let dh go away so soon after ds was born.

Make the most of your MIL. She needs to keep you sweet to see Airon. Make sure you sit on the sofa, and do nothing apart from look after the baby. Stay in your PJ's - don't get dressed. It will remind people that you are 'ill'. Is your MIL staying with you?

When will your dp be back? Take care of yourself

OP posts:
666mummy · 23/06/2006 22:39

Adelaides: no to be honest the mother in law has gone away too...
hes not back till next sunday.
you are right tho i am still ill i just hope this isnt the start post natal D.e.p.r.e.s.s.i.o.n......
i try not to cry in front of airon tho. he might sense somethings wrong.
i dont know if its just just because im in a house with just a baby, but i feel v.panicky and although taking care of little one when hes asleep i have quite a lot of time to 'think'
thank you for your advice tho. x x x

sarahsbump · 24/06/2006 11:06

Morning all
well today is my due date so fingers crossed he will decide to be on time
I have had a bit of a show this morning and keep needing the loo so hopefully things are starting but knowing my luck im just getting my hopes up

congratulations to all the new arrivals and i hope you are doing well and that i will be joining you very soon

Laura032004 · 24/06/2006 17:06

Good luck for delivering on your due date sarahsbump The show is a good sign you're warming up anyway.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today 666mummy. Is your dp back this Sunday (tomorrow), or a week Sunday? Don't worry about crying in front of your ds - I'm sure most new mums do at some point. I sobbed a lot of tears onto ds's head when I was finding bfing hard, and he doesn't seem any worse the wear for it! Being by yourself and feeling rough won't help if you think you might be on the way to PND, so call in any help that you can. Have you got friends that can just come round to keep you company and make you cups of tea? Try posting on the depression board here - you'll get lots of good advice. The feeling panicy is quite normal - babies are a huge responsibility, but you know your baby better than anybody, and are the best person to be looking after him. Hope things look up soon, and keep posting - it's good to talk!

Diddle has had her baby. No official birth announcement yet, but the details on the pg after m/c thread are: Baby Joshua was born at 12.28pm yesterday (Friday 23rd). He weighed in at a very healthy 8lb 15.5oz.

sarahsbump · 25/06/2006 09:47

Well im still here he decided he is comfy where he is so back to the waiting game!
I see the midwife tomorrow so maybe she will do a sweep to try and get things moving

AdelaideS · 25/06/2006 10:12

Oh bad luck sarahsbump...hope you're comfortable.
666mummy...hope you're feeling a bit better this morning.
Laura...and how are you? I just have a feeling that I may end up slipping over into July, I'm just too comfortable. It's weird really, in fact, I must be the only person who doesn't actually WANT to give birth yet...I could do with a week at home doing absolutely nothing.
