Congratulations to morethan1/atleast2 (are you changing your nickname?) & PomsMum

PomsMum - I loved your birth story, very inspiring. I hope mine is something like that! What time did you ring the MW's?

BABY2 - Hope things get started for you over the w/e.

Mitchell81 - I hope everything went smoothly for the c/s, and you're now holding your lovely baby :)

vbab78 - scans aren't always accurate at 20 weeks, so they could have been a few days out. :( Just look at every day as definitely bringing you one day closer to the baby. That was what I hung on to with ds - each day later I got, was a day when I was statistically much more likely to go into labour. Plan something nice for this w/e? Cinema or a meal out? That's bound to trigger things off!

emkana - Will you definitely be induced on Monday if nothing happens before? Fingers crossed for this w/e then!

happybebe - Glad to hear your baby's engaged. Wish mine was!

AdelaideS - hope the fete went well, and the baby stayed inside for the duration!

RachelPross - Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. I've started getting mild backache and a sore pelvis in bed, so I can't imagine how terrible you must feel.

Nothing to report here yet! Still got 11 days until my due date though. Off to an NCT sale this morning, so will have to restrain my buying! Hope everyone has a comfortable day, or is popping a baby out!

Hi everyone, very late I know, but wondered if I could join your thread? My baby was due 13th July, but I've been diagnosed with cholostasis, so will now be induced either next week or the one after, at the latest!

Anyone else been through this? And anyone else in East London? My head's spinning a bit, as it's all suddenly happening so fast and some words of wisdom would be very welcome.

Trina

AdelaideS · 17/06/2006 15:38

Welcome KiwiKat.....I know nothing about your condition but someone will. Good Luck Smile

My pains settled down before the fete yesterday, reckon it was shifting downwards or something....I just have a feeling this one may go into July.

Laura...buy any good stuff?

CaptainDippy · 17/06/2006 19:04

KiwiKat - MaryBS had cholostasis with both her pregnancies and is very knowledgeable about it - I'll set up a little "meeting" for you both!! Smile Sending you [hugs] and hoping all goes well - I'll be watching out for your announcement!! OK - off to set up meeting .....

CaptainDippy · 17/06/2006 19:09

Kiwikat - Go link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=72526&topicid=1375&threadid=183682&redir=72526\here} to chat to MaryBS who has experienced Cholostasis with two of her pregnancies!! Smile

CaptainDippy · 17/06/2006 19:10

Darn Angry

I'll post link again .....

CaptainDippy · 17/06/2006 19:11

Hurrah! Smile

PomsMum · 18/06/2006 15:29

Laura - As far as we recall DH rang the midwives at about 9.30pm, but it seems to be a little shambolic in the time it took them to get here (surely if you were a midwife on call you'd think to have suffcicient petrol in your car!!??) - so advice for homebirthers (especially those who are not first time mums) would be to ring sooner rather than later!! Having said that it was nice only having them there for the minimum amount of time and fuss.

sarahsbump - Happy Birthday for yesterday!

KiwiKat - welcome to the group. Sorry to hear of the problems you've been having. I hope you can get lots of advice from MN.

AdelaideS - I was getting all excited that you might have been on your way! No, didn't buy much yesterday. Nothing I need if I'm honest, but I like a bargain too much to not go!

PomsMum - very Shock at the no petrol! It's great that they weren't there for long and you could get on with things in your own way, but somebody else might have actually wanted them to be there! Mind you, I hope my birth is something similar!

I went on the labour ward tour today. Everybody else was due in about September, so I felt very disorganised! I'm still planning a home birth, but didn't think it would do any harm to see where I'd have to transfer to if needs be. Made me more sure of my HB plans though - they don't have birthing pools, mobile epidurals or wireless monitoring. They also only have two baths / showers on the whole delivery suite! Fingers crossed that will be my last visit there anyway.

The thread seems very quiet this w/e. Probably everyone out enjoying the weather, but hopefully we'll have had some Fathers Day babies. :)

Apologies for having such a winge last post, feeling much better now back wise...tens machine use for a couple of hrs a day seems to have righted the problem but still no sign of baby yet. Just waiting, but then aren't we all! Due date is Weds 21st, fingers crossed she'll be here soon.

AdelaideS · 18/06/2006 20:14

Ooh, Rachel...be good if babe came on her due day...a summer solstice baby...cool!

diddle · 18/06/2006 21:16

congrats Kathrynwales - sounds like a lovely fast delivery.

Vbab - how are you holding up, thinking of you. i'm 41+3 today, and know just how you feel.
Good luckf or tomorrow, and hope it all goes well. just remember that it will be worth it at the end, no matter what happens.

BABY2 · 18/06/2006 21:45

Hello everyone-
I am ver happy today,ds was born after a 3.5 hour labour on saturday am.
i woke at 2.10am with pains which seamed all over the place when i tryed to time them. At 3.00am i new it was definatley labour and woke dh, we set off to hospital at 4.45, arriving at 5.05am and as soon as i got into hospital i was already to push and Carl was born at 5.34am weighing 7lb. Smile
Hope everyone else is ok.

Flum · 18/06/2006 22:26

Baby2 - Welll done you.

Wish that would happen to me.

Am term + 7 days and hospital has me booked for an elective c-section on Tuesday.. I don't really want it though.

Went for overdue monitoring today and all good with baby and me. I agreed to let midwife do an internal exam but NO stretch and sweep - even though she asked to. Anyway she said baby was engaged and I was 2 cm dilated so maybe something will happen soon. ##

If not tonight - I think I will ask to postpone c-section booking until term + 12 or 14.

We are househunting and really don't want to be laid up after another c-section for a week.

bubbly1973 · 19/06/2006 10:53

congratulations kathrynwales, and baby2...baby2, your labour sounds exactly like mine and at the exact time only mine was a week saturday

have i missed out on any other babys born? if so im so sorry but trying to skim through the post as fast as i can before baby crys

good luck to all those who are ready to go into labour

xx

Baby Ashton Duncan was born on Friday 16/6 at 1:14pm weighing 8lbs 12 ozs, we got out of hospital yesterday at 1:30pm and we are both doing well at home. We are pleased to say he is perfect and doesn't have the same Genetict syndrome as our DD. I am still taking it easy as my cut still hurts, but having an Elective C/S was the best decision ever.
Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies. And good luck for those who haven't, won't be long now.

Laura032004 · 19/06/2006 19:28

Hi all, after what seemed like the longest pregnancy, our beautiful daughter, Trinity Savannah Spires finally decided to make her way into the world on Friday 16th June at 5.27pm, weighing 8lbs 8ozs and 21.5 inches long.

Went into labour at 5.15am that morning, contractions were 19 minutes apart, but went from that to a minute apart in 5 hours. Went into hospital to be told we were only 2cms dilated(!) With that birthplan went straight out of the window! Was given Pethedine and an epidural was arranged but went from 2cm to 8cm in an hour. Was then told an epidural would be too late so had gas and air instead and out she came!

Discharged from hospital the next day. DP and I are just completely in love with her. Am exhausted and have slight anaemia but am just so happy. Congrats to all the other ladies who have had their babies and good luck to all those with babies yet to arrive. :o :o :o xxx
