:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi all,

Sorry for delay in posting.

I had my planned c-section on 1st June and Esmae Georgia was born 3:07pm weighing a whopping 7lb 15+1/2oz! We came home Sunday andI can't believe how well I feel. Esmae is doing well and weighed in at 8lb 3oz today so she's obviously feeding ok, could have guessed by my Fcup boobs tho!!

waswondering congratulations on your little girl, beautiful name. Hope all went well for you.

Will post again soon when I have a bit more time.

Good luck, hope you are all doing well.

666mummy

just over a week ago i had a show, and last night i had some more! i wont describe it lol but definately shows. midwife says a lot of women go into labour any thing up to two weeks after a show, and it shows that things are getting ready to move!

I got my tens machine through the post this morning 37 weeks and counting! come on baby! :) xx

mrsbabookaloo · 08/06/2006 11:18

Congratulations bumpinsheffield: glad to hear all is going well.

Welcome to minxz.

Laura: thanks for copying the list over: good that someone is organised. I'm usually that person, but I said "umbrella" yestery when I meant "avocado" so I think my brain is a bit mushy!!!

Still waiting, 3 days overdue. At least I've had friends to visit yesterday, today and tomorrow to distract me.

BabyBelly · 08/06/2006 11:43

Hi everyone!
It's been ages since I've posted anything.
Due Date is 18/06
Can't wait to have this baby.
I've been feeling very moody these days and easily irrated or upset by the things people do around me. I also cry easily. Hate feeling like this. My Mother-in-law has come to stay with us and everything she does annoys me :(
Anyone else feel like this? Or is it just me? :)

bubbly1973 · 08/06/2006 13:21

congratulations bumpsinsheffield!!

no one heard from lilac? i bet she has had her little one :o

this is just a quick one as i have a ton of things to do, soon as i come on here i find it lethal, i end up not doing anything else!

babybelly, i was likeyou about 2 weeks ago, maybe there is a surge of hormones flying through couple of weeks before due date

im fine now though so i hope you will be too

got to go
happy days

bubbly1973 · 08/06/2006 13:21

oops, nearly forgot...welcome to the thread minxz :o

vbab78 · 08/06/2006 15:46

Update ... I am now 2 days over due and truly fed up with pregnancy. Just want to see baby!! I know there are those of you even more overdue but I can't help but feel sorry for myself, sorry.

I've had no show or anything. The only thing I keep getting is lower back pain and twinges/burning in my bits. Of course being that this is my first I get all excited thinking this is it and then NOTHING!

Seen midwife today for check-up and everything is fine as normal, which of course I am glad about. If nothing happens, don't feel it will, I'm having a sweep first thing next Tuesday (Due+7, 13th June), then if nothing maybe again on the Friday (Due+10, 16th June) then apparently induction isn't until at least 14 days after due date (20th June)!!!

Really hope baby gets a move on as I don't like the idea of a sweep or induction after things I have read. Sad

666mummy · 08/06/2006 20:15

vbab78: dont worry bout having a sweep, theres nothing to it just as long as you relax, but if you go and have a sweep dont expect it to work after the first one. good luck, im thinkin of you. x x x
i dont fancy being induced next week either hopfully he would of came or the 3rd sweep works sunday 4 me!?!?!

vbab78 · 08/06/2006 20:24

666mummy - thanks for the reassurance about the sweep. Smile

You will have had 3 sweeps?! My midwife has got back to me since my last post and said due to a rule change since 1st June they only do one sweep at Due Date+7 then induce at DD+14.

My fingers are crossed for you that you don't need inducing.

RachelPross · 08/06/2006 20:34

Seen midwife today and good news is that baby is 3/5 engaged, also been told that the baby is a big one Shock(not so pleased about that as I was planning to have a natural birth, as little pain relief as possible.)

RachelPross · 08/06/2006 20:36

And think I may have had a bit if a show this evening, not sure tho and no contractions as yet. Will keep u posted.

666mummy · 08/06/2006 20:45

i dont want to be induced because the midwife said for first timers majority of women have epirdurals because they cant cope with how fast the contractions come on, i guess its just different areas that we live in, see i would have to travel to a hospital to be induced because where i am thes only a birthing centre.
sweeps in my experience dont exactloy start labour but get you closer to it if you know what i mean??
iv had show now since my last sweep and thats an early sign of labour, i fink if i last to sunday (the 3rd sweep) it would definitly start it for me.
rachelpross: you can get show for weeks until you actually could start having contractions and go into labour?? hope it doesnt take that long for us lol.

homemama · 08/06/2006 22:23

Just sneaking over from the Sept thread to see how Lilacbump is getting on. Can't seem to find her on this new thread, has she delivered yet? I seem to remember her EDD being 6/6. If you're reading this LB, hope you are well!

Hope all you other fat ladies don't have much longer to wait. (I've 3mths to go and I'm already impatient) Good luck to you all! Smile

BTW, does anyone know what happened to Dana? She didn't seem to post after her mother was very poorly. Hope she is now also safely delivered.

surroundedbyboys · 09/06/2006 09:11

hi all.

congrats bumpinsheffield. how was jessops?

finding it hard to keep up with everyone's indications of imminent birth, but good luck all those with definate 'warning signs'.

also, waiting impatiently for news from lilacbump.

From my experience the discomfort of a sweep totally depends on who is doing it - IME midwives tend to be a bit gentler than the doctors. I had a particularly brutal one with a registrar, but painless ones with midwives. Not sure if any did much good TBH. I think both my boys were determined to stay in as long as poss. But you never know. Good luck.

emkana · 09/06/2006 09:19

Good morning everybody

how are you all today?

Anybody else here wishing that baby stays in until the worst heat is over? It's warm enough in the baby wards as it is!

Anyway, good luck to all of you for the next few days/weeks.

trinity1 · 09/06/2006 09:22

Morning ladies,

Vbab78 - please try not to worry about having a sweep. I had one on Wednesday, despite being 39 +6. Apparently the consultant at my maternity unit wanted me to have one to try and get things moving along. Its a tiny bit uncomfortable but not painful and in my case it hasn't really worked but it isn't really something to be concerned about. Had a bit of bleeding afterwards but then it cleared up. Am now one day overdue and am so anxious to meet our little baby. Am booked in for another sweep next Wednesday if no baby by then! Please try to stay positive, it won't be long now xxx :)

mrsbabookaloo · 09/06/2006 10:09

Homemama: we don't know what's happened to Lilac: all hoping she and baby are OK and she's just busy. Nothing from Dana for a long time.
