I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

HI everyone, just back from 2 weeks holiday and am now 12 weeks. Hooray! Have nuchal scan booked for Friday so can't wait for that. Last 10 days or so all symptoms have disappeared so I am feeling a bit worried as whether everything is alright. Had no bleeding but you do hear about missed miscarriages when the baby just dies. Sure will be reassured at scan but paranoia always there throughout pregnancy I think.
Also had a very bad time with my DH. Not sure we will even still be together by the time baby born, not the best time for me to make life long decisions but I feel rational enough.........

Tommy · 12/08/2006 09:13

Hi flowertot - sorry to hear things aren't great with DH. If you're anything like us, holidays are always stressful anyway and my being pregnant and therefore exhauted doesn't help. Hope it gets sorted out. Good luck with your scan

flowertot · 12/08/2006 09:18

It was just the icing on the cake really. Both on holiday therefore no excuse for him to say he is too tired after work to help. Still did absolutely nothing. Even though I am pregnant. lazy and insensitive and selfish

TuttiFrutti · 12/08/2006 13:10

Oh flowertot, I'm really sorry. Being pregnant makes me much more emotional anyway so arguments with dh can seem much more upsetting, but it sounds as if you've gone beyond that stage. I really hope things work out.

peachygirl · 12/08/2006 16:53

flowertot I'm sorry to hear your holiday wasn't as relaxing as it could have been. holidays can be stressful as you have to be together 24-7 and are life usually isn't like that with work etc. I hope you will be able to work things out.
If it makes you feel better I was crying in the scan room before I even got on the couch due to being anxious that the baby wasn't there ( a work colleague of mine had a missed miscarriage not long ago)The sonographer was really lovely and made me feel much better. I know I keep saying this but I've also had very few symptoms. remember everyone is different.

suzi2 · 12/08/2006 18:51

aw flowertot - hopefully your arguments have made your other half see sense. Men have no idea how hard pregnancy is too. as for the symptoms... they're supposed to stop or die back around 10-14 wks. With DS they were gone completely by 10 wks, so I'm sure everything is fine.

I had my NHS scan on Monday - dates are back to the 15th as they're insisting on sticking with my LMP even though my private scan at 8 wks matched my ovulation and puts me at the 21st. hope baby arrives promptly as I don't want to fight about die dates/induction/home birth! Still no bump or uterus popping out at all. Which worries me as I could feel the lump with DS by now!

DS is having his first overnight stay with his grandparents tonight. I'm not sure whether to be sad or happy! i'm all anxious that he'll be missing him mummy but I'm enjoying a bit of time to myself. DH and I are going out for a Mexican as at least if I feel icky I can eat some rice and cheese!

bunny3 · 12/08/2006 21:39

hi all, not been around much as the computer makes me feel a bit pukey! Anyway I had my private scan at the fetal medicine centre and it was absolutely bloody brilliant. It took 2 hours in all, blood tests were done beofre the scan and the results of those were combined with the scan results. My chance of downs reduced from 1:64 (age related risk) to 1:1200 so I was ecstatic.

Still feel sick!!!

Tommy · 12/08/2006 22:37

good news bunny
I was offered a nuchal fold and all the relevant tests on the NHS - seems that in my Health Authority they are offering them to all women regardless of age. That has certainly changed since DS2
My scan gave me a date of 18 Feb but I did notice on the printout that they'd out the wrong LMP down so it's just an administartion thing rather than anything more relevant.
I still reckon mine will wait until March

julezboo · 13/08/2006 09:50

Congrats on the good scan Bunny!

Im having a bit of a time with my due date too, my midwife insists on going by my LMP date too which would put me at 26th feb, after 3 scans however they put me at 20th feb lol, so they think I am having my 12 weeks scan nextweek Ill be 12 weeks, when Ill actually be 13, but doesnt matter to me, going off past record baby will be here at christmas and if not born my c section round about 2nd week in Jan cos of blood clotting!

Anyone else got sore hips?? I could barely walk yesterday!

babycheese · 13/08/2006 19:15

Hello everyone,

Julezboo am having pain in my hip as well so sympathise with you. Bit random when it comes which is a bit annoying I had it a bit with first pregnancy. Was going to try a hot water bottle might work I suppose. Due dates can be a pain. My midwife moved mine another 5 days on but the baby looks bigger in scan photo than my daughter did at same scan so am now a bit worried!!!!

peachygirl · 13/08/2006 19:39

Hi I'm just popping in to say good luck for those who have scans in the next two weeks and best wishes to everyone else as I'm off to the USA tomorrow (hopefully)

sshhh · 13/08/2006 19:59

Hi there

I've not posted on this thread in a while - basically because i'm too lazy to keep going and changing my username! I'll post under my regular name once i've had scan which is on 24th...

I'm now 12+1 and it feels odd not to be telling people.. i'm def preg and look preg in evenings, but i just want to be sure that everything is ok...

I'm still feeling sick on and off, and still v tired. I start back to work next week after a glorious 8 weeks off and wonder how i'll cope without my afternoon nap that i have become so accustomed too!!

It's great to read about all the positive scans - lots of minds put to rest. I'm looking forward to being able to feel the wee bump now that it will be rising up from behind pubic bone.

Dh and i have been discussing names quite a bit and have narrowed boys names down to 2 or 3. And have a wee list of girls names!

Chat soon.

Evening - back from a lovely week in Spain in a villa with pool - lovely and relaxing! Back to work tomorrow - need to check clothes still fit! Got nuchal scan tomorrow (well think so as they phoned twice last week while I was away but let no message apart from to phone them! Will have to slip out tomorrow to do that - don't want to tell work for another week or so - unless it is obvious in my clothes! Quite enjoy having my little secret - only 25 more weeks at work - hee hee and then a year off! Got booking in appt at hospital on 25th Aug (will be 14 weeks) and scan the week after.

Hope everyone is feeling ok now!

suzi2 · 13/08/2006 20:52

Hello ladies - haven't posted for a few weeks, good to have a read and catch up on all the news. Great a about all the scans! I am 16 weeks on Thursday and the nausea still isn't gone. It is such a bore now. I met someone yesterday though and they asked me to get involved in a project that would involved lifting so I said, sorry I was 5 months pregnant. DH looked at me oddly and it was only when they started to work out the due date that I realised my mistake! Where did that come from??? I think I think of how far I have gone as weeks and how much left as months - and that must have been where the 5 months sprung from! I didn't retract either, just said I was due early Feb! They must think I'm mad, or put it down to a preggy mushy brain (even DH has said I'm 'not as sharp as usual').

Momentous day - wearing preggy trousers. With it being cooler last week I wore trousers to work for the first time in about a month and all but one pair were uncomfortably tight. So today I got out a preggy pair I had found in the Mothercare sale a few weeks ago, and I am wearing them with all the zips and buckles still done up - but so much more comfy although there is no really visible bump still. Going shopping this weekend for more.

Have started buying stuff too. A bit keen, but we took the Mothercare catalogue to my sister-in-law (who has 2 children and is trying for no 3) and got her to draw up a list of all the ?essentials? and it easily topped £1000 so we decided then to see what we could get second hand (I like the idea of recycling too). I then started looking on e-bay and got a bit carried away ? All fun though and very exciting!

Flowertot - hope things are better for you and DH, was sad to read your post.

Have a good week. xxx

Hello everyone. I'm new here, I have been reading up on how everyone is doing pretty much from the start. It's been great to know that I am not alone with feelings, emotions and sickness, as it sometimes feels that way.

My Stats:
Me. 30
dh (assume this is husband) 31
Second baby, I have a daughter who is 2+1/2.
Due date: scan says 07/02/07, (LMP 10/02/07)
which means I am 14+5 days.

Sickness for me has started to ease off now. It got worse at 12 weeks. I had to start wearing maternity clothes at 13 and half weeks. I too have hip pain which I had with my daughter.

Anyway enough from me, I look forward reading up some more and not feeling alone.

biggerbytheminute · 14/08/2006 15:31

Hello everyone, is there room for one more new one?
Great to read all your news & symptoms, especially since I haven't told many people yet. Just had scan which looks all good, though stupidly couldn't remember ds's (he's 3+1/2) birth date or weight when the nurse asked! Marbles gone already? Please no. Due 23 Feb.

CurrantBun · 14/08/2006 16:27

Hi there, room for a little one?

Expecting #1, date of LMP 22 May which gives me an EDD of 26 February. I'm therefore 12 weeks today. I think I'm actually closer to 11+3 though as I was charting when I fell pregnant and so have a pretty good idea of when I ovulated, which I think was between days 16 and 18. I have never had a 28-day cycle either which is what the LMP calculator uses - mine normally vary from 32-37 days, and I think this cycle would have been 32 if I hadn't conceived.

Have nuchal scan and bloods this Friday at the Fetal Medicine Centre in Harley Street. I'm entitled to it on the NHS as I'm 37, but DH and I decided to go privately as we wanted it to be done thoroughly and not to be rushed through a 10-minute NHS appointment. Plus I was told the hospital would contact me to arrange the scan and so far I've heard nothing - nuchal has to be done before 13+6 so might be cutting it a bit fine if I leave it to the NHS.

Am really nervous about nuchal scan. Although I've been having sickness (quite bad from weeks 7-9) I've been feeling fine apart from that - no fatigue at all. Am scared I'll discover a missed miscarriage on Friday - either that, or I'll come back high risk for Down's and have to go through CVS. There is so much to worry about already!

I'm 37, DH is 32, and this is my first pregnancy.

Sorry havent posted in ages, been feeling pretty grim .

Now 13+ wks and am definatly turning the corner on the sickness and tiredness front (although most certainly NOT blooming....just bloomin' fat!)

Had my scan and hospital booking appoint...all was well, although unfortunately dh couldnt make it so only I got to see the wee bub kicking away! Forgotten how totally mind-blowing the scan is (even third time round).

Good to catch up on everyone's news.

I'll stop posting now honest!!!!

maazaa · 14/08/2006 19:27

Evenin' All. Welcome lovely new ladies! Some good news as well on scans and nuchal business. Very positive.

Am over the nausea completely (is a week now since a freak banana-milk vomiting incident). Still tired and quite spotty (boooo!).

Am obsessing with names - I know we have six months to decide but it feels like such a huge responsibility. Have a fave boy's name but we are stumped for a girl. Oh well, just 192 days to decide.

Visited some very special babies today in the intensive care - twins born 7 weeks early. SO tiny and beautiful. Has really unnerved me both in terms of "am I ready" as well as the gazzilion "what if" scenarios. Arghhhhh! One cup of caffeinated tea and a diet coke has sent me into frazzle over-drive so need to calm myself down a bit. We're also in the process of buying a house and I seem to have acquired the chief organiser role as I am on school holidays......really don't want it at all, but I can sort things and answer emails. However, come September, I imagine everyone will still deal with me AND I'll have work, bump and all the contend with. I shouldn't grumble - sounds like you're having a really tough time Flowertot. Is it worth trying Relate or similar?

What happened to the stats thread? Can someone resurrect it for the new ladies?

titchy77 · 14/08/2006 19:51
