LOL - umlauf you should be happy you don't work for my company right now then. What was an amazing perk until recently has now become a daily exercise in discipline... We have two canteens, free of charge, open for breakfast, lunch and with snacks throughout the day. Pretty much - eat all you can all day long. I often do... so have to remind myself that it's not the best way forward. Despite all the appearances - not the best set up for pregnant women!

By the way, feeling terribly guilty this week as my mood swings and general feeling low mean that I can be such hard work for poor DP... the poor man is so patient but can't do anything right... I keep snapping at him or crying because he said something wrong ALL the time... feeling quite rotten about my behaviour recently...

claphammama · 29/05/2013 11:20

congrats sanji!! Seems like you weren't meant to find out the sex anyway :-) According to old wives' tales it should be a girl with this heart rate, right?

I am very impressed you still run... very very impressive. Is it not too heavy by now?

34PinkLadyApple · 29/05/2013 11:24

Morning all. Just checking in on the new thread. Been a bit busy lately and missed nearly alk of the last one!
Congrats on all the scans and milestones met.
Quick round up- 23 weeks today, proper bump, eating till theres nothing left in the house Blush, couple of stitch type cramp episodes but nothing to worry about, feeling baby move lots daily (even saw it yesterday ripple across tummy). Got a wallaboo change bag off ebay, love it, got bugaboo frog donated by friend which i love too. Sex drive increased and managed to convince h2b its ok to do stuff as hes a bit concerned about hurting bub Grin. Collecting mamas and papas gingerbread stuff for nursery, all from ebay, as we didnt find out sex and its nice and neutral without being being 'beige'.

Thats it, im done. Not very exciting after so long away Blush

Smitten1981 · 29/05/2013 11:33

I'm really trying not to stress about weight and enjoying eating what I want. I know as soon as the baby comes I'll be back dieting and I'll shift it, so not too worried.

My friend had her baby 6 weeks ago and has lost 2 stone just through breastfeeding and walking. It will come off again ladies, try not to panic too much. We're gaining weight for a reason.

Umlauf · 29/05/2013 11:37

Sorry orangeblossom I missed your lovely post! Thank you very much, but if you mean my profile picture that was the wedding when I was slimmish a year ago... now is quite different!

I'm hoping and quite confident I'll be motivated enough to get it all off afterwards, so I havent been bothered so far, but this has scared me a bit to be honest so I feel I have to do something sooner rather than later!

My Spanish is coming on OK in all areas of life apart from the pregnancy it seems! I have a mental block that hinders my communication at the doctors, I think it's nerves. DH always comes with me so we can share linguistic responsibility! They do weigh me every time but I don't think it's just me, I think its routine...!

Haylebop12 · 29/05/2013 11:40

I have weighed myself since week 12 where I had no gain, except for the bits I lost due to sickness.

I'm kinda staying away from the scales tbh...

4 hours and 20 minutes...... Aargh!

Shirehobbit · 29/05/2013 11:41

Congratulations on your scan sanjifair!
And impressed by the running. I would have kept running in this pregnancy, as I did the others (I even did a half ironman when pregnant in September) but after my mc history, though it was totally unrelated to my exercise, people kept thinking it was ok to pass judgement about it, and it was an added stress I could do without, especially while I felt so anxious and fragile.
Oh, and I only swapped to ultras a couple of years ago because the scenery was better, and they give you tea and cake at the checkpoints (there is a reason my nickname is hobbit Blush )

Good to see you pinkladyapple - impressive shopping Smile

Haylebop12 · 29/05/2013 11:41

Havent*

GTbaby · 29/05/2013 11:56

Don't worry about weight gain at all. It all varies. Some ppl gain at start. Some at end. Some gradually throughout.
As others have said here in uk they don't even check (as they think it just stresses women out).
My bmi was 31 at booking in. And NO ONE has mentioned it.
So maybe you just got a prick of a dr who doesn't know shit Wink

Flyer747 · 29/05/2013 11:57

I'm glad it's not just me who has piled on the pounds. I weighed 8stone2 when i got my bfp, and was a size 8 i am currently 10stone1, and probably more after the cupcake iate half an hour ago at my desk! The same as you though umlauf i seem to have only gone up one dress size, my boobs are massive though.

Congrats on the scan Sanjifair.

I was drinking 2 cups of tea in the first 12 weeks, (i'm a northerner and drink so much tea, no coffee) but have increased to 4 cups now. I can't stand the taste of decaff tea.

Sorry to hear you are feeling down claphammama, i am also very snappy and cry at the drop of a hat. DP has been called every name under the sun recently....

We cancelled our trip to China which we were supossed to be on at the moment, (luckily the flights are refundable, as through work) DP works for himself and had a load of work come in late last week, and with a big mortgage now and a baby on the way, we can't afford to turn away business....I'm actually not too bothered, i've been to Shanghai with work a few times before. So looking forward to our holiday to Mykonos in july, i'm gonna sweat to death, pregnant in greece in july! yikes.

Wickedgirl · 29/05/2013 12:09

I put in 3 stone in each of my first 2 pregnancies and put on 4 stone (from 8 stone) with baby 3. I am guessing that Ill put on 3-4 stone again this time too.

I completely went of coffee due to it making me sick but have started drinking decaf in the last week or so. I do sometimes have a proper coffee when I'm out......some caffeine in pregnancy is completely fine. I did the same in my other pregnancies and none of my babies were small. My smallest was 8lb 15oz

Wickedgirl · 29/05/2013 12:11

Flyer.......have you tried twinings breakfast tea (decaf)? I honestly can't taste the difference.

Warlin · 29/05/2013 12:11

Oh GT congrats....you are in the same position as me with your second wee boy. Took me a while to get used to but will be so much easier when they are close together and hopefully they will be good friends.

wicked I am with you on the bugaboo being a pain to collapse but I find this with any travel system in 2 parts..I take my silvercross buggy when just going shopping. What bugaboo do you have though...my camelion is brilliant on sand (as the wheels reverse) and when I walk through the glen near our house. I bought it as I needed a buggy good on sand and it has not disappointed. I find it really comfortable for ds too and good over rough terrain. My buggy is dreadful if I take it anywhere other than indoor surfaces! I do hate collapsing it though and if I have the dog in the boot as well there is no room for the pram.

I need a slim double that walks like the bugaboo, but that collapses like the bugaboo and that will fit in the front seat of my car....any suggestions??? Don't think it exists! The baby jogger seems to be the best I can find but it has much narrower seats and is nowhere near as comfortable.

Good luck today Hayley

Umlauf my 3 words for the last thread would be "boys, boys and (the odd) girl!! Sorry that's more than 3 words really!

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2013 12:15

They weigh me each time here (scotland) but thats only because my bmi is over 35 otherwise they are not fussed!

JellyCurls · 29/05/2013 12:45

I have never been weighed by MW this pregnancy which is weird and good. Said I didn't look overweight at booking so no need to bother, also in Scotland falcon so must vary by region.

We had mini city twin for dc1 when dc2 came along. Dc1 was 4 at time and fitted in it perfectly. Very easy to steer and great to fold and store. Mice got into our loft so we having to buy everything new for this baby so bought z mini city elite of ebay as loved my twin so much and bought the delux carrycot from someone on gumtree so transport all sorted. If out alone with all 3 kids then dc1 can go in buggy, dc2 on buggy board and dc3 can be in a sling and after bedtime mummy will be in the pub

Flyer747 · 29/05/2013 12:58

Good Luck with the scan Hayle, i'm excited for you to find out the sex.

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2013 12:59

Its only if your bmi is over 35 Jelly.
I have phoned drs for an appointment I can feel my depression coming back sorry its a bit of a downer subject but i need to shake out of it before she arrives. I feel like such a failure atm I hope doctors can put my mind at rest about side effects. I thought it best to be open with you lovely ladies as i know it may hit more than myself. I hope tablets help and I can get back to normal well pregnant normal :)

Haylebop12 · 29/05/2013 12:59

Thanks everyone, I really hope baby co operates and allows us to find out. Dd felt a few more kicks this morning.

Just waiting for dh to get back from work. 3 hours eeek!

Shirehobbit · 29/05/2013 13:04

Longest few hours, ever, hayleybop? Wink

When's the appointment falcon? Hope it goes ok and helps. I'm really frightened my own black dog will sneak up on me at some point, and I know it doesn't always help to have people say this to you, but you are not a failure x

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2013 13:10

Thanks shire it does help honestly nothing worse than feeling alone in everything. Its at 10.45 just a phone call as they know im prone i suppose they will just discuss the best meds to take

good luck with your scan haylebop and meeting your baby girl im sure :p

favellio · 29/05/2013 13:19

Hi everyone, after a manic few weeks, I've finally caught up on the thread. Thanks for the new one too Smile and massive congrats on all the great scan news!!

I'm 21 weeks today. Baby is very active and I can feel quite a lot of movement, despite also having an anterior placenta (must be something in the water! Lol)

I went to see a physio yesterday. As I've got hypermobilty, my pelvis is really not coping well with the extra weight, so I now have a rather sexy (not!) bump support belt to wear when I'm standing and walking, and starting a hydrotherapy class next Friday at Colchester hospital with a group of hypermobilty people.

Has anyone else noticed that their boobs have deflated a bit?? Mine were really swollen but lately I've noticed they feel a bit empty and more deflated than even before I was pregnant Hmm

Haylebop12 · 29/05/2013 13:37

flavellio not noticed my boobs go down as such but my nips are huge! Sorry to hear your body is struggling a bit.hope the support helps.

falcon hope you can sort out some meds to help. Can't imagine how your feeling right now. Brew

I'm also a big tea drinker. I have anything from 4-8 cups a day but have not been having more than four since bfp. May weigh myself today... :-/

roofio87 · 29/05/2013 13:43

falcon I think its really important to share. I've had depression a couple of times, once with no obvious reason behind it, so I'm aware of pnd and determined to keep my eye on my feelings and seek help asap if I need it. depression is nothing to be ashamed of and should be talked about more imo. I hope you manage to get things sorted but you sound on top of it which is good.

my tummy skin is so itchy today, driving me crazy!!

was waiting in for an asos delivery as it was coming between 12 40 and 13 40 but got a text at 12 50 saying it had been left at a neighbours. but I was in?!? they never even tried my house!! I went to the neighbours and there is no one in!! don't know what's going on!!

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2013 14:04

Thanks for all the support I get on here honestly would have not got through everything without you all. xxxx

Warlin · 29/05/2013 14:31

wicked have you used the bugaboo on the beach? I would never switch the wheels on normal surfaces but I can literally plough through all types of sand with little effort. I guess what one person finds great, another doesn't lol. I hate the 3 wheel ones as I always think they are going to tip when you go round sharp bends..think we should agree to disagree on this one but think it really depends what you use it for :)

thatsnot I'm the same on the alcohol front. I was craving wine last tme but this time I have no desier for it. I do miss a gin when the weather's nice though.

I am still drinking caffeine in the form of coffee and diet coke. I do try to limit to one coffee and one coke a day but it doesn't always happen...especially if we are out and everyone else is drinking as i tend to drink way too much coke then.

I have an anterior placenta too so getting some movement but not loads.

Happy birthday pineapple

serious hope midwife puts your mind at rest.

I'm seriously struggling with motivation at work today (and always) :(
