haylebop my appetite is exactly the same as yours. I HAD to eat every2 hours, and now feel full after half of my meal, and no longer snacking. I remember this from last pregnancy, but more when I got to 30 weeks when I assume the baby was so big, it was acting like a gastric band!
I'm still on the cyclizine though the sickness much better, every time I try to have a day to 'come off' it, I feel so sick, I start it again.

PseudoBadger · 28/05/2013 16:25

Oh I forgot to say that I have been quite ravenous this past week :o

Just checking in. Congrats on another boy gt
Can't remember who was worried by big boobs but I hate mine too and I hated them whilst I breast fed too but don't despair they go back to normal when you stop! Hoping they return to normality after this pregnancy too but am expecting maybe a bit of sagging as its number two Sad

moonblues · 28/05/2013 16:30

Thanks for the new thread pseudo

Everything was fine at the 20 week scan today, though the baby was a bit uncooperative and I had to do lots of 'jiggling' and moving round in order to try to get it into a good position. We didn't find out the sex. I'm going to have to have a section, so it's nice to have some element of surprise... Totally individual choice, but I think there are few genuine surprises in life. :)

Hoping to be able to relax and just enjoy being pregnant now.

Sorry you're feeling sore flyer and claphammama still having morning sickness is rubbish. Hope you both start feeling better soon.

Welcome back umlauf :)

Slippysnow · 28/05/2013 16:31

Thanks for the new thread!
More boys.. More naughty babies and more anterior placentas. It's getting spookily coincidental. I think I'm one of the last to find out so am sitting about enjoying others good news.

Apart from the weather it's been a good day for me. I got a first on my dissertation, waheyy!

Has anyone had experiences of genetic counselling after conception. My older brother has a unidentified disability that has affected his balance he couldn't walk until he was six, the docs weren't sure of his life expectancy etc when he was born. It was never known whether it was hereditary or environmental during his development in the womb. They offered the counselling and we agreed to be prepared for similar issues with our baby. (I think it's unlikely)
But I really don't know what to expect.

moonblues · 28/05/2013 16:38

Congratulations on the first slippy that's fab!

The only people I know who had genetic counselling it was after they had a child with a genetic condition, but they were told it was just a random mutation - bad luck really, and so would be unlikely to affect any other children.

Haylebop12 · 28/05/2013 16:38

Rachel Ive been off cuclizine sice week 14, only been sick 3 times since but always nauseas. It seems to be settling a little. I also have the odd time I feek full very quickly and because I'm not onw for leaving food I find my tummy quite uncomfortable after a meal.

Haylebop12 · 28/05/2013 16:39

Really should proof read all posts!!

Shirehobbit · 28/05/2013 16:43

My appetite has really decreased over the last week Confused
I'm actually having to remind myself to eat something, sometimes - unheard of in a greedy hobbit.

Shirehobbit · 28/05/2013 16:45

Great news on the dissertation slippy Grin

Soupqueen · 28/05/2013 16:50

Thanks for the new thread!

Congrats gt, how do you feel about it?

wicked, you probably have more pushchair experience than the whole board combined so I'd be very interested in your thoughts. Do your criticisms of bugaboo include the bee? I thought it was quite easy to collapse and a comparable weight with others that are suitable from birth. We did see one that was easier to collapse, baby city something?, but as it didn't have adjustable handlebars was no good for us. What would you recommend for people who live in the city, mostly travel by bus/walking and are looking for something suitable from birth?

Smitten1981 · 28/05/2013 17:14

I may I just felt a bit of movement, I can't think of any way to describe it other than it felt a bit pingy just below my belly button. Like a flick or a ping or something. Is that it? Very vague I know.

Smitten1981 · 28/05/2013 17:15

OOps massive typo there, that should say may have, not May I

claphammama · 28/05/2013 17:46

sounds like it could be smitten! I would say this is how it feels

congrats on your great result slippy!

pinkmoonlight · 28/05/2013 18:51

Congratulations to all who scanned today! I've still got a while to wait, not being scanned until 5th June! I am already in the boy gang and am wondering whether I'm going to be in the anterior placenta gang too- 18+4 today and not noticed anything so far. Which I know is totally normal but it is still making me worry!

Interesting to hear about the bugaboo... I'm going to a shop called baby barn to road test travel systems on Friday. Can't wait!

textbook · 28/05/2013 19:04

Congrats on all the excellent scan news, and thanks for the new thread pseudo Smile

Only 2 days until rescan - please all cross fingers that my naughty baby will behave itself on Friday.

Re Bugaboos - I had one for DD and loved it. Got it from John Lewis, and had both the frame and the seat part replaced on warranty after a couple of years as they developed niggly issues (due to heavy use no doubt), so basically had a whole new buggy by the time we retired it! However, before we decided to have #2 I lent it to extended family for their DS, and feel horribly awkward about asking for it back now...

chickieno1 · 28/05/2013 19:25

Congrats on good scan news!

How're you gtbaby?

Scan on the 5th June too pink and smitten! Can't wait but nervous too.

We had a bugaboo bee and loved it. Only problem was ds is tall and was a long baby so I think outgrew it. We got a lot of use out of it. Lived in London and didn't drive so walked a lot. Public transport was also fine. Not great in parks etc though. We sold it when ds just over 2. Don't know hat we re going to go with this time????

GTbaby · 28/05/2013 19:33

Ladies ladies ladies. No one ever teach you to finish what you start! The last thread is unfinished Sad poor thread... I'm off to do the deedGrin

JellyCurls · 28/05/2013 20:07

slippy we had genetic counselling after dc1 was born and while pregnant with dc1 & dc2. They basically discussed the likelihood of condition recurring, can't think what else they said. Think the outcome was a sporadic geneti condition.

I have seriously overdone it today. I have real bad shooting pains going through my pelvis and down my sides. Sitting here with my feet up but pains are making me double up. Any tips to ease pain? Got 22 wk app with MW tomorrow do will ask her

JellyCurls · 28/05/2013 20:09

GT baby just read end of last thread and you are just slightly mad but in a lovely way.

Congrats on boy, sorry your boobs hurt and maybe you have a niece that will like handbags

MrsAFlowerpot · 28/05/2013 20:11

Well done GT! I wish my appetite was back to normal - Im still starving all the time. Feel quite light headed when I either havent just eaten or am currently eating Blush

Corkle · 28/05/2013 20:15

Lovely to hear lots of good news about scans. I had mine last week and we're having a girl to balance you all out a little. Had a mad shopping spree over the Internet (I am SO impatient!!) and lots of lovely pink things are starting to arrive in the post already :) I've also got the nursery all planned out on Pinterest and the buggy is ordered (amazing deal in mothercare, we got the stokke scoot with free carseat so snapped that bargain up a few weeks ago - not sure if the offer is still on but it saved us £185)
I realise i have a lot left to do but am worried now that I have done all this too early - what's our next milestone to look forward to?

Haylebop12 · 28/05/2013 20:19

corkle the next milestone to me is 24 weeks as if anything should happen eg, waters break or labour starts the hospital should do everything they can to support baby Smile

pinkbuttons · 28/05/2013 20:20

Thank you for the new thread badger and for finishing the old one GT Grin
Congratulations on all good scan news today and on another boy GTbaby am definitely starting to feel a bit left out with my little girl co operating with the sonographer and posterior placenta Smile

We had another research scan today and got to see baby in 4D which was amazing, will post a pic on fb later. Not sure if this will help jelly but Ive started with sciatica this week and have found if Im able to lie on my front at all it helps. Have had to put a pillow above and below bump to make it comfortable and not squish baby but it stops the shooting pains. Also a warm hot water bottle on sore muscles might help them relax a bit.

I cant remember who it was that mentioned earlier about getting the city jogger double buggy? Were thinking of looking for a second hand one too, it looks great and DS who is 2 fits in quite nicely, dont think well need it for long but definitely need something to bridge the gap as we walk everywhere. We had an iCandy for DS and loved it, he still fits now so going to keep that as our single, just wished Id thought about having two when we bought that one and would have bought a model that can convert. never mind.

Looking forward to seeing more positive scan news tomorrow hope babies are well behaved, I love coming on everyday at the moment to check in on the days scannees.

thatsnotmypineapple · 28/05/2013 20:51

Good evening everyone. Lovely to hear the scan news. It is my birthday today, so am treating myself to a small glass of wine. I haven't missed alcohol as much this time as I did in my first pregnancy, which is good.

Jealous of those who have lost their appetite, I am eating for England, and have a real craving for stuff I normally don't like such as McDonald's and fizzy drinks, which are really bad. I definitely am going to make an effort to eat better.

Has anyone else got varicose veins? I found one yesterday in a place I really did not want to find one. Put it this way anything other than a normal bikini wax is out of the question Grin
