Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GTbaby · 12/06/2013 15:40

Spoke to soon. DH came home with mini iced fingers. I ate 2 as my main meal. Blush But just had a sandwich for dessert. Lol. Really fancy another sandwich. Is half hour to soon for a snack?

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 15:43

Yeah the covers don't seem to fit! I bought if off my neighbour (although we moved last week) i'm seeing her tomorrow night so will get her to give me a slow step by step guide!

Soupqueen · 12/06/2013 16:27

Just back from the midwife. I'm very lucky, it's the 3rd time I've seen the same one and she is fab. I got my MAT B1 form for work but stupidly didn't notice until I got home that it's in my married name (which is what I'm registered at the Dr under) whereas I work under my maiden name. Hopefully HR will accept it without too much fuss....

I got given the dates of our NHS antenatal classes - 4 classes, every single one a weekday afternoon. I really don't think DH will be able to get the time off, so I'm relieved we've booked NCT ones.

I'm having another attempt at making paella tonight, I need veggies! Had been pretty good most of the day but then someone brought me a piece of chocolate cake. I don't even like chocolate cake that much but it would have been rude to have rejected it!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/06/2013 16:32

Thanks Umlauf - I'm 23 weeks along (24 on Monday). Yep, it is definitely disconcerting. The midwife has suggested I may have a cervical erosion-thingy but this is just an educated guess as I haven't been examined. Rationally, I'm pretty sure it's nothing too sinister but it's hard not to let your fears run away with you.

I had finally started to relax a little about this pregnancy (we didn't dare go public until after 20 weeks) and now I feel back on high alert again.

Flyer - I can sympathise with the bugaboo problem. I've been given one by a friend and had to consult the instruction booklet twice just to figure how to put the
raincover on. Thankfully she'd already washed all the fabric for me and reassembled too.

roxvox · 12/06/2013 16:34

soupqueen glad it all went well with the MW. Out of interest, did you specifically request to go to the NHS antenatal classes? They have not been mentioned to us by our MW and we are not seeing her again for a few weeks.

Soupqueen · 12/06/2013 16:38

No, I hadn't mentioned them. Have you got a non emergency number you could call and check?

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 12/06/2013 16:42

Also feeling knackered and with scratchy eyes. Was at an event outdoors yesterday which meant I was standing up for about 3 hours and then walked (very slowly!) home. Terrible night's sleep and then an early start and an all day conference. A comfy seat in a warm lecture theatre and a restricted caffeine intake is not good news!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/06/2013 16:43

I'm booked onto an NCT refresher course but I'm a bit concerned (given the age gap) I may be 'out of sync' with the rest of the class if they all have toddlers and a current set of local mum-friends they made first time around.

neenienana · 12/06/2013 16:44

Hello, am due in Oct, just found out am expecting a girl after two boys. The youngest is 6 so it feels a bit daunting to be doing it again. It's nice to have some company....

roxvox · 12/06/2013 17:04

Thanks soupqueen. I have my midwife's mobile number so I might just send her a text to check!

Welcome neenienana!

MrsO27 · 12/06/2013 17:21

Glad your eyes are better gt.
Having stir fry for dinner so will get some veg in that way. M&S are selling 2 packs of meringues for £2 at the moment. They're delish. Having one of them with some fruit for dessert. (The cream I'll pour over that is medicinal. Baby needs calcium Smile)
By the way my friend sent me an email from BabiesR'us. They have a sale on right now.
Welcome neenienana and congrats on the girl.

HotSoupDumpling · 12/06/2013 17:25

Welcome neenie.

Mrs0, that's exactly what I say to myself when I'm inhaling parmesan and mozzarella... think of the calcium!! and not the fat and salt

Shirehobbit · 12/06/2013 18:37

Our little local grocers was out of granary and seeded bread, so we have half a white loaf for the first time in eons....so totally gorgeous hot, toasted and dripping with butter!
I need to step away from the toaster...

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/06/2013 18:53

Mmmmmmm white toast with butter what a treat!!! I am a toast fiend at the moment.
Finally told work about this baby and all ok I think and I am going to be paid- phew! There was a difference of 4 days between me taking holiday and starting mat leave so they have agreed I can take that unpaid as would be mad to go in for 4 days. So I guess I'll be back at work at the end of July 2014, that feels weird!!!
Does anyone know how an airline knows you are over 34 weeks pregnant? We've been invited to holiday with some friends in the south of France in early sept and I'll be 35 weeks. All airlines I've checked say that they let you fly with a drs note up to 34 weeks and when I rang today they said that was the cut off after 35 weeks it was no flying even with a drs note. But how do they know?! I'll be just as big at 34 weeks as I will at 35 weeks surely. Wondering if I can get away with it. Thoughts anyone? Would be lovely to have a final fling as doubt we'll go anywhere next year with 2 babies under 2..........

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 18:59

Shooting as far as I'm aware, they have no way of knowing. The only thing would be if they asked to see your paperwork (mat b1 I think??) which states your due date. If you couldn't produce this then the airline can refuse you travel. However I'd be inclined to say that most check in staff aren't that switched on, wear something forgiving and maybe cover the bump you'd probably get away with it! I used to operate flights to Nigeria and loads of the women on those flights often turned up heavily pregnant, but disguised by the way the dressed.

MotherOfNations · 12/06/2013 19:48

I ordered a personalised fathers day card on line from the bump with the scan photo on it and a message saying "I can't wait to meet you Daddy".
Inside I wrote a message saying that even though the older kids had their own dads he was still a great role model for them. It was only after I ordered I realised I'd put an apostrophe in dads. I emailed to ask them to omit it but even if they don't Dp won't notice. Grammar isn't his strong point.

textbook · 12/06/2013 19:51

I'm so glad I'm not the only one eating ALL THE TIME - for the last week I have been ravenous, ate 4 chocolate brownies with a salted caramel centre today Shock

Very stressed at work also as my assistant has just handed in her notice unexpectedly, so now I have to recruit a replacement for her at the same time as my maternity cover, and do all her work until the replacement can start. Great.

Roll on August 23rd! (I have 2 weeks holiday to take before mat leave begins)

favellio · 12/06/2013 21:02

Those chocolate brownies sound amazing!! I too am eating sooooo much! I've found I need to eat little and often, rather than several large portions!
I'm having a nightmare time with SPD. 23 weeks today and hobbling like my 92 yr old nan!!
I've got an appointment with the anaesthetist tomorrow. I have ehlers-danlos/hypermobilty syndrome which affects how my body reacts to anaesthetic.
Loving all the names Smile at the mo we like George and Jack for a boy and Isla-Rose for a girl but this could all change lol

Haylebop12 · 12/06/2013 21:06

Ooh textbook I leave 4 data after you! 11weeks!

Wickedgirl · 12/06/2013 21:09

favellio I am 23 weeks today and I too am suffering big time with SPD. I can barely walk any where now and am seriously wondering if I can get to 29 weeks for maternity leave. I only work 2 days but they are long and exhausting

Natalieand · 12/06/2013 21:18

I'm SPd seems to have kick started in the last few days, hope all u ladies aren't suffering too badly mine is only mild ATM. The dislocated sensati

Natalieand · 12/06/2013 21:21

I'm SPd seems to have kick started in the last few days, hope all u ladies aren't suffering too badly mine is only mild ATM. The dislocated sensation in my hip had gone but now when I go up and down stairs or get up from sofa it feels like knives in my groin area. Horrible stuff

Sorry I double posted as it posted too early

MoN that card sounds absolutely wkd! And as u say I'm sure dp won't notice I no mine certainly wouldn't notice

Anyone else having bad trapped wind ATM? I seem to be getting it several times a day and it absolutely kills my stomach till I can pass it sorry for TMI

textbook · 12/06/2013 22:06

Hayle is it only 11 weeks? I'm not sure whether to be really relieved or panic as I have soooo much to get done before then Grin

The choc brownies are Sainsburys's taste the difference - I can thoroughly recommend them!

Haylebop12 · 12/06/2013 22:18

Yeah (ish) it seems so close as I have two weeks hol he end of July then only back in for two and a half!

I can recommend anything by Sainsbury's Wink

GTbaby · 13/06/2013 00:33

Hugs to SPD suffers. It sucks. Couldn't get my legs waxed today Hmm hurt to much so ended with a half leg wax.

Can I use imac cream hair remover?
