How are your eyes this morning GT?
I woke up at 2am and don't think I got back to sleep until about 5 and then only dozed. Feel rubbish now. Bleugh. Luckily this doesn't happen every day now but still too regularly for my liking. I wonder if the baby wakes me up.

Shirehobbit · 12/06/2013 07:39

Funny, I was awake at the same time, orangeblossom. There was quite a change in the weather here, last night, and I think the wind woke me. But once I was awake, there was no way I was going back to sleep.
It could be a looooong day...

HotSoupDumpling · 12/06/2013 08:14

I'm sleeping badly too. It's really muggy and hot, and we don't have a fan or air con... Maybe I should convince DH that it's an investment...

Clapham and Flyer, I have days where I feel similar.

I've stopped looking at articles about pregnant celebrities or those with babies. It just gives me unrealistic expectations of what I should be like! If I had the time and money to lavish on hair, expensive clothes, stylists etc then I'm sure I'd look rather more polished! I scrubbed up well on my wedding day, but can't be like that all the time!

Warlin · 12/06/2013 08:45

Morning all

GT hows the vision this morning? Hope you feel better soon and agree that it's better to get checked out.

clapham and flyer hope you feel more positive today. I went through a phase like that last week when everything just gets on top of you. Have a good cry and vent to dh/p..I always feel better after getting it off my chest. Explain in advance that it's hormones and that you have not turned into a hormonal mess without good cause :)

Stop looking at pregnant celebs..they have teams of stylists etc to make them look like that, airbrushing and nannies and housekeepers so it's no wonder they look better than us! The vast majority of pregnant women have all the normal signs and symptoms..and very few that I know have had that glow that we are all promised :)

PenelopeLane · 12/06/2013 10:38

Another one eating badly here too! I really need to eat more some veges. Pre pregnancy I was pretty healthy, but now, the fattier the food the better!

GTbaby · 12/06/2013 11:53

I'm feeling on today. No flashes since then. I don't have any other signs of preeclampsia so I'm trying not to worry.

Back to important things. What shall I eat next?!?

HotSoupDumpling · 12/06/2013 11:59

Glad you feel better Gt! But you should def get them checked out if your vision plays up again.

I'm unstoppable re food now. Strangely I used to be a massive meat eater, but now much prefer vegetables. Raw, preferably. My taste buds are messed up.

Natalieand · 12/06/2013 12:09

I just purchased a few new tops in new look maternity :-) I'm usually like a 22-24 before being pregnant but the 18 maternity fitted nicely. Also I was just in Asda and the checkout woman asked how long I had left I said still a long 18 weeks to go and she said to me ''wow are U expecting
More than 1?' Isn't how funny how u find it flattering when ppl comment on the size of your belly when your pregnant but pre pregnancy it would make u boil with rage lol

legally are u on the Facebook group to share a bump pic?

Haylebop12 · 12/06/2013 12:42

Been selling lots of dds old clothes via fb and made £65 this morning so that's going on a new chassis for my loola and maybe some other baby bits :-)

I also need some maternity stuff. Thought I'd got loads off eBay but always struggling to find something in a morning!

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 13:36

I'm in work and have just eaten so much for my lunch I feel totally disgusted with myself, I had a costa bean & salsa wrap, packet of crisps, tub of fruit and a scone with jam and clotted cream... All washed down with a pot of tea! That must be my daily calrorie content in one sitting! Whats with the huge appetite.

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 13:38

Oh and I booked onto NCT starting in August, I'm sure my boss will love me taking every Saturday off.

claphammama · 12/06/2013 13:48

following a very healthy lunch, I've just ruined everything when I saw they had white chocolate and cream profiteroles today... topped it up with a creamy cherry yogurt and now on my third coffee. In training today so trying to stay awake and engaged... the training is called "managing your energy" - how very appropriate!

Smitten1981 · 12/06/2013 13:50

I just had a Starbucks Mocha Cookie Crumble (small, decaf, skinny- boring), a M&S chicken and stuffing sandwich, crisps and a M&S chocolate flapjack for lunch and I bought a jumbo fruit salad for later. The monster is loose.

I'll be crying into my salad when I have to try and shed all these bad things I've eaten come November.

claphammama · 12/06/2013 13:52

PS. thanks warlin. feeling slightly better today. so good to know I'm not the only one! and also had a big cry last night when DP got home.

following the assessment that was part of my course today, apparently I'm in the "burn out zone"... they honestly didn't need to tell me this!

PseudoBadger · 12/06/2013 13:54

I spent £15 on food yesterday at work I was so hungry

just been browsing in mothercare again (I confess I didn't return the bikini bottoms, I was too embarrassed!!) and they have a lovely own brand travel system in there, carry cot, pushchair and car search all included for £250. its perfect for what I want and our budget, however they only do it in pink or blue!! I know I'm having a boy and the blue is nice but I want it to be unisex for childminding and any possible subsequent children. I think its silly not to do it in a neutral colour also!! its annoyed me!!

anyway, rant over!! I don't have much of an appetite at the moment, had noodles for lunch and couldn't finish them. not helping with engery levels!!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/06/2013 14:22

Hello All, just a quick post as I have heaps to do before the school run. Sorry to hear you've been feeling low and emotional clapham.

I had my own mini-meltdown yesterday as I've started getting some on/off bloody mucus when I wipe. Only a tiny amount, but still quite unnerving. The midwives don't seem too concerned so I'm trying to stay positive. I had the same thing happen around 11 weeks too.

On the food front - I've gradually started eating my lunch earlier and earlier. This morning I was eating ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches at 10am!

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 14:29

Haha Smitten, i was thinking exactly the same (crying into my salad come november) I asked DP last night if he would buy me sessions with a personal trainer after giving birth, not sure how realisitc this is with a newborn?!!

I have 2 weddings to attend and just went into Monsoon, everything i tried on just looked minging.

Claphammama a woman after my own heart with that pudding and hopefully that'll get you through the afternoon energy dip, sounds lush.

I'm sooo bored in work roll on end september and i can bugger off and skive for the next 12 months :-) so over this work marlarkey!

Umlauf · 12/06/2013 14:50

Hha roofio I missed your mothercare tale last night and have just caught up, cracking up in class! Such a bad teacher mumsnet thing whilst kids are doing their summer exams!!!

I can seriously not be bothered to diet, its bad enough dieting when itsy actually works, restricting what I eat whilst getting bigger? No thanks!! I have cut out the chocolate and sugar and excess carbs since my doctors visit but am still very much a beached whale. We actually had a real life beached whale on our beach in January, it was very sad but I remember thinking what a strange metaphor for bigger people as the poor whale looked rather slender for its length...

Oh bridget how disconcerting, but its good if the midwives aren't concerned, and you having similar happen before with no problems is a good sign right? How far are you?

flyer when are the weddings? I'd go for something maternity, there are GORGEOUS occasion dresses in isabella Oliver, could try ebay? I'm trying to flaunt rather than hide bump at the moment but not doing well with limited wardrobe...!

GTbaby · 12/06/2013 14:52

Food. I need food. DH has gone to telco Hmm so no unhealthy binge buying for me.

Been looking at pushchairs. Really like oyster max as a double.

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 14:56

Umlauf, the end July and mid September. The september one i will be huge. I was bidding on a dress on ebay and just got outbid! I will look at that website thanks.

Umlauf · 12/06/2013 15:02

This printed wrap around one is expensive but looks really flattering and this sequin one is glamorous! I'm bidding on a more daytime one of theirs myself, ends tomorrow morning wish me luck!

Its so bloody hot here, like 35 degrees hot, and my legs keep sticking together. Eurgh. I want an ice cream. I think I'm going to buy an ice cream and screw the doctors advice!!

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 15:02

Btw Umlauf are you the other lady who bought a second hand bugaboo cameleon? If so how are you finding it? I am struggling, I took all the covers off and washed them, its either shrunk or i'm totally thick (probably the latter) as i cannot seem to put it back together. I gave up after about 3 hours trying and it's currently in about 20 pieces scattered around what will be the nursery!

Flyer747 · 12/06/2013 15:05

Umlauf i really like that dress, i always suited wrap dresses pre pregnancy. You have inspired me to buy one. Tar x

Umlauf · 12/06/2013 15:12

Yes that was me, I've not actually seen it to be honest! I'm in Spain and it was in London. My dad collected it and he and my mum have had a play and given it a little makeover and they think its fine. None of us have anything to compare it to though. I think I'm going to buy it brand new covers though as it came with the fleece ones and I live in a very rainy place, and when fleece gets wet... It stays wet. The covers cost £70 new though so I'm umm ing and ahh ing about it.

I'm sure you're not thick! It is just the covers you can't get back on or the whole thing?! I'm quite looking forward to meeting it when I go back in July! I've got to fill up my car with that, a cot, pushchair, baby bath, excercise bike (for me, much needed!) and drive it all back through France, it'll be like Mary Poppins' car.
