I seem to have a very active baby. I feel him/her really quite regularly. There are times at work where I swear heshe thinks their having a swimming lesson in there. I am kind of used to the kicks now, but the squirming still feels very peculiar to me!

I am very hopeful that if baby is so active during the day, then maybe he/she isn't at night when I am sleeping and this will continue after the baby is born...?!

Warlin · 11/06/2013 11:33

Hey All

Sorry havent been about much the last few days, just enjoying the lovely weekend weather and spending some much needed time with dh. Lots of BBQ's and trips to the beach which was lovely. Now back in work and it's raining...that is summer over me thinks :0

I'm just on countdown to Portugal next week and taking 2 weeks off work which will be bliss!

Congrats on the scans everyone and glad things are all ok legally...good luck for another scan on Wed. Haven't done full catch up yet so apologies if you've already said this, but will you be induced and if so on what week?

I had really sharp pains last night in my abdomin when I went to bed. It may have been a Braxton Hick though I'm not really sure what they feel like...last time I thought I was having these it turned out to be labour! Thankfully they stopped quite quickly so not sure what it was.

Anyone else starving today? I'm trying to eat more healthily as this pregnancy has involved so much junk food but I just can't seem to fill myself up these days! Not looking forward to appearing in a tankini next week Shock

Warlin · 11/06/2013 11:46

caz I'm with you on the lunch time sex. I am far too tired at night and tend to go to bed well before dh so that's not too romantic. We use to do it loads but I am too tired and we are managing about once a week, normally during one of ds's daytime naps!! It's not really comfortable for me at the minute either :( I do miss the days of us getting lots of romantic meals, trips away and couple time, whereas now it's more about the fleeting minutes we have spare in crazy, commitment filled lives....!

PseudoBadger · 11/06/2013 13:01

Warlin I am starving today! I had toast at 6, a pret breakfast baguette at 8, a bacon roll at 10.30 and now lunch.....

Thanks to all your lovely comments we are definetly going with Eliana with Alice as a middle name in honour of Dp's mum.

Slippysnow · 11/06/2013 14:11

Hope your scan goes well today :)

I started feeling kicks (very light) finally, funnily enough it happened after complaining on here. Chuffed.

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 11/06/2013 15:17

MoN, Eliana Alice is beautiful. I was following your story while lurking, and I'm so glad things have worked out well for you and your soon-to-be daughter.

I'm decidedly put out that I've got to take time off work for ante-natal classes - work are fine with it, fortunately I'm self-employed so they couldn't really do much more than give me fierce looks, but I'm offended that they assume little women can easily spare time off work, but big breadwinning men can't - it's just the women only session that's in working hours. The downside of being self-employed is that a day of no work is a day of no pay, of course, which is annoying when I'll be just about to take 6 months off bloody work.

I should grumble less and celebrate more - I'm having a baby!

GTbaby · 11/06/2013 16:07

Im hungry again. Was like this all day yesterday as well. For dinner had two chappatis. Then made DH get me chips on way home.
Can't decide what to eat next. Only thing saving me ATM is I can't be bothered to walk to the shop. Hmm

roofio87 · 11/06/2013 16:29

I've had a lovely day off with my mum visiting, she enjoyed browsing kiddicare with me and treated me to some maternity clothes from mothercare. she lives a couple of hours away so its nice to.do things to involve her when I can!!
I tried on a tankini in mothercare, but decided against it as boob bit was too small. tried the bottoms on over my knickers and just realised I wore them out the shop!!!Shock so I basically shoplifted some bikini bottoms today!! what do I do? I'd feel like such an idiot taking them back Haha!!

Slippysnow · 11/06/2013 16:41

Hahaha baby brain in action! I bet they are used to it in mother care! Did you look like superman on the way home?

Shirehobbit · 11/06/2013 16:42

Oops! Great pregnancy brain story, though Roofio Grin
I would take them back, but appreciate the Blush factor is quite high!!

Smitten1981 · 11/06/2013 16:50

Roofio - Keep them.

GT - My hunger this week has been out of control and all for sweet things. I had a box of Mr Kipling French Fancies instead of dinner the other night Blush

MotherOfNations · 11/06/2013 17:02

Thankyou TheCat

After my recent little problem I'm trying to be a bit healthier and am making a chicken and vegetable stew for dinner though I did have a custard donut and a bat of chocolate in lieu of lunch.

GT You've put me in the mood for Dahl and chappati's now so that's tomorrow's dinner sorted. The kids will be pleased they love making chapatti's.

thethreeblondies · 11/06/2013 17:26

Oh roofio that did make me chuckle and my sister! probably just keep them, something to tell the grandkids! Grin

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/06/2013 17:43

We had our scan today, all looks good with the baby. The sonographer could see everything she needed to and everything was there including some very cute little hands. We stuck to our guns and kept the sex a surprise. My placenta is low over my cervix though, the same as Claphammama I think, so I have been booked in for a growth scan at 32 weeks to see if it has moved and if a natural birth is still an option. Not too worried, it seems to happen quite a lot and will be quite a nice excuse to see the baby again.

Thanks for the link hot soup. I am currently planning to be on maternity leave by the time the nct classes start anyway so it shouldn't matter unless I decide to stay another week.

Yes to being really hungry all the time!

We went to jojomaman bebe after the scan but all the dresses too big, and in johnlewis a really drab selection of shapeless jersey. Tied some maxi dresses in ordinary shops but nothing that would go over my massive bras. Going to have a look online.

Natalieand · 11/06/2013 17:46

Excellent news orange hopefully your placenta moves in time :-)

roofio keep them for sure lol

I'm starving but I don't particularly fancy anything I went to tesco to buy dinner and came out with a box of magnums as it was 3 for £1.24 would be rude not too lol

Shootingstarsandcomets · 11/06/2013 17:51

Big giggles at roofio!!

PseudoBadger · 11/06/2013 18:07

Grown out of the bra I bought last week :(
I ripped it off when I got home today and I'll have to go shopping again tomorrow

Flyer747 · 11/06/2013 18:11

Haha roofio I would do something like that too :-)

I've just had to practically force feed myself with healthy food, I'm getting really concerned about the amount of processed foods I've been eating since getting pregnant, and eating hardly any veg/salad/fruit, as a former health freak since getting pregnant I've really struggled to eat decent food, it's been all sugar and junk!!! Nearly threw up eating spinach, peppers courgettes and tomatoes but keep reminding myself how important it is...please tell me I'm not the only one feeling this way?!

Smitten1981 · 11/06/2013 18:34

Flyer - nope not just you. I was pretty healthy before and always cooked meals from scratch and now all I want is junk. Mainly because I don't have the energy to cook when I get it from work anymore.

Smitten1981 · 11/06/2013 18:37

I've been cooking a yummy risotto with lemon, veg stock, leek, peas and loads of spinach in. It's the only thing I fancy that has veg in lately. Gone off anything tomato based, which I used to do for practically every meal.

Slippysnow · 11/06/2013 18:46

I too have been feeling guilty for eating processed food. At the beginning I had such high hopes for healthy eating, bean stews, veg curries loads of fruit it fizzled out. It seems to take lots more preparation/ goes off quickly once stocked up in the fridge. I'm going to make more effort again- half way through resolution.

roofio after giggling about your baby brain, I went and washed my face with my glasses on.... Karma

Slippysnow · 11/06/2013 18:48

Also orange pleased all was fine, fingers crossed for a floating placenta (I'm sure it will, like you said it is common)

Flyer747 · 11/06/2013 18:52

Oh and orange congratulations on the scan, fingers crossed your placenta moves....

Slippy that made me laugh too with the face washing!

Glad I'm not the only one struggling to eat decent grub.

Soupqueen · 11/06/2013 18:53

Yep, me too on the disastrous diet. I've always eaten really healthily but, now, when I have the best reason ever to be healthy, it's all gone to pot.

It's a vicious circle, no energy to cook, so eat rubbish, which means even less energy. Tonight was meant to be paella (Yottam Ottolenghi's multi veg paella - seriously scrummy and can totally recommend! Link below) but it turned into Dominos pizza Blush
