Roofio Ariana is one of our top names! Although we are probably going to use a boring flower name 'cause I love it.

I went back to work too after DS 4 days, and it worked out well - although helped that he has an excellent nursery that he loves, and I love my job too. It would be so hard if you didn't like your job.

PseudoBadger · 10/06/2013 22:00

Right well now we know what cazboldly is doing every day between 1 and 3.... :o

I'd be quite happy if DP put sex off the menu, as I'm just so tired. We don't get any alone time apart from in bed at night (live with my parents and obviously DS too) and by bedtime I'm just worn out.

If he gives me a particularly good back rub I do make the effort though Blush

I do 3 days a week (24 hours) which is great, and one of those is at home which saves on tube fares.

Ha ha just realised my last post is ambiguous - I'm talking about work not sex :o

My left hip is so painfull :-( when I'm standing doing noting its pain-free but as soon as I need go life my foot from the floor its so painful it feels like its gonna pop out of its socket :-(

Haylebop12 · 10/06/2013 22:14

pseudo I too work 3 days (24 hrs) and although at the moment is flexible I will be asking for set days when I return. I like to think 3 days is a good balance for a child to learn independence and social skills but still have a majority of the time with mum/dad.

I have to go back, I like my financial independence and we will only be looking at childcare 2 mornings a week which will be around £40-£50. that been split between DH and I (finances are separate) meaning ill still be earning £140 ish a week which is enough Smile

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 10/06/2013 22:22

Too tired to post properly but wanted to say hello to legally and that I'm really glad all seems to be going ok and the little ones are making their presence felt - I can't imagine how stressful it must be.

On the work front - I've been a SAHM since DD (6 yrs) was born and, whilst I feel very fortunate to even have that as an option, there are definite downsides too.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 10/06/2013 22:26

Natalie - ouch! That sounds grim.

cazboldy · 10/06/2013 22:30

not every day pseudoBadger Grin

GTbaby · 10/06/2013 23:16

Nat feel your pain. Aqua fit/ swimming really helped me last time. I think this time I've got it to bad Hmm I think getting into the pool would be agony.

legallyblond · 10/06/2013 23:18

Thanks all - short post as about to fall asleep! Bedrest for one week only thank god! Ended up on labour ward again today with some more bleeding, but mostly brown and my consultant was on so popped in to see me and scanned me himself (he loves / is expert in scanning) and both are fine! Another scan

legallyblond · 10/06/2013 23:19

Sorry posted too soon... Another scan on Weds!

Good luck tomorrow Orange and anyone else, and love Eliana MoN!

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/06/2013 06:37

Thanks legally. Scan at 2 o'clock. So glad you are getting plenty for reassurance.

Lots of Braxton hicks contractions in a row this morning. Quite sore actually. Not "Arrrgh" but definitely "ooh!" Good to get my womb in training though I guess.

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/06/2013 07:04

Very nervous abut scan today but also excited to see my little one again for (hopefully) the last time in 19 weeks.

My boss said nct classes are optional, not national health. If I end up staying beyond 36 weeks and need time off for it I will fight her on that one as she is wrong, but shouldn't matter anyway for me.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 11/06/2013 07:37

Orangeblossom in my area they are in the evening, so you may be OK anyway, but surely if you're doing those instead of NHS classes (I'm guessing?) she would let you go. It might be worth reminding her of your right time off for them (and antenatal relaxation/exercise classes if you want...)

Good luck for the scan today and you too legally

Shirehobbit · 11/06/2013 07:40

Good luck orangeblossom - your boss sounds like a joy to work for Hmm

Loads of positive vibes legally - sorry to hear that there has been more bleeding, but glad you've seen both are ok.

Hope the pain gets better for those with spd. My back and pelvis are being surprisingly well behaved, despite dire warnings from my physio and doctor when we first started ttc. I've had to shelve the yoga and aquanatal classes until term finishes as they were just impossible with working hours.
I have an appointment with a consultant anestheist (sp?) in August to assess my back in case of the need for epidural.

PseudoBadger · 11/06/2013 08:15

Ooh Orange your boss is an ignorant nightmare! I hope she's done a specific pregnancy risk assessment for you (ie not a generic one).

roofio87 · 11/06/2013 09:03

orange and anyone else who's had them, what are braxton hicks like? I've not had any and maybe I won't, but I'm scared I'm going to convince myself I'm in labour if they ever start up Haha!! I don't know what to expect!!

PenelopeLane · 11/06/2013 10:04

Braxton hicks don't hurt! That's the difference.

When I was pregnant last time I hated people saying that when it's labour you'll know, but that was true in my case

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/06/2013 10:39

Hope all goes well at the scan orange and you get a lovely sonographer.

Roofio first time around I never felt any braxton hicks at all - the very first twinges I felt were the start of labour. Not sure if they are generally more common in subsequent pregnancies, but this time I'm having heaps. My womb goes all tight and hard for a few seconds - sort of crampy but not really painful.

They aren't helping my sex life one bit - without fail getting aroused triggers them off and, for me, they're an instant passion killer Blush

cazboldy · 11/06/2013 10:51

I never had any until my 3rd pregnancy! and no afterpains til then either..... (not looking forward to those this time!

I have been having loads this pregnancy though, for the last week, pretty much every evening.

thethreeblondies · 11/06/2013 11:00

I've had lots of braxton hicks this time, got in touch with mw re them last week as felt pretty uncomfortable every few minutes for a whole day, definitely worse when I'm busy, glad to know I'm not alone with them, never had them this early with other two!

Natalieand · 11/06/2013 11:01

I didn't have any Braxton hicks in my first pregnancy my first contraction was proper labour and like other said its so freaking irrotatig when ppl say 'you will no when its hour time' but as soon as I had my first contraction I definately knew. I'm 22+1 with dc2 and I haven't had any Braxton hicks yet. Just waiting for midwife to arrive for my 11o clock appt :-)

roofio87 · 11/06/2013 11:04

thanks ladies, that's really interesting!! I guess I have a bit of a fear of the unknown, not knowing what is going to happen when the time comes is terrifying!! Smile

HotSoupDumpling · 11/06/2013 11:25

orangeblossom, would this be helpful?

No Braxton Hicks here - but plenty of kicking which is satisfying but weird at the same time (felt them quite late due to anterior placenta).
