WasWondering - you have my sympathies I have a 22 mnth toddler who is starting to act up, he keeps standing by the cot pointing and shouting NO NO NO very loudly. I'm sure he'd have some other choice words if his vocabulary was up to it:) Hope all goes well for you tomorrow and also BumpInSheffield.

What happens at the pre-op does anyone know? My last was an emergency c/s, but I go in tomorrow for my pre-op, do I need to take anything?

I'm feeling really apprehensive now!!

TheHun · 31/05/2006 14:46

Can I join in at this very late stage, a bit cheeky I know. I'm due 3/6, have dd who is 2yr and 9 mth. Me and dh are both 35. dd was 4 days early, felt sure that this one would be too but no sign at all. Saw midwife this morning and all seems well, she wants to see me again next week, hope it's her visiting me at home.
dd was 4 hours from waters breaking to delivery, bit scared that this baby will be quicker and hope dh will get to hospital in time, don't want to do it without him.

blobsmummy · 31/05/2006 17:01

Waswondering & Bumpinsheffield - all the best for tomorrow - thinking of you both Smile. Looking forward to hearing about your lovely babies.

Please ignore the rest of this posting whilst I have a little rant....just need to get it off my (milky) chest........

Had my show 2 weeks ago, midwife says I'm all ready to go, baby is 1/5 engaged and feels like she's bouncing off my thighs when I walk as the bump is sooo low - but still nothing has happened, and I was so convinced that it would be a May baby - feeling quite gutted. Sad

I've tried pineapple, curries, baths, long walks, sex, nipple tweaking etc etc - and if one more person says to me "the baby will come when it's ready" I think I'll scream - I KNOW!!!!! Angry Also, if I had £1 for every time someone has said to me "have you tried castor oil?" I would never have to work again.

OK, rant over.......... I'm just not very good at all about waiting for things and being patient, a character flaw I need to work on....and this baby is certainly giving me plenty of opportunities to do that Wink

Still, in 7 hours time we'll be in our official birth month. It seems like it's been a long time coming, but we've made it. Smile

ja9 · 31/05/2006 17:46

Waswondering, just crashing in to wish you all the best for tomorrow. Will he thinking / praying for you. Don't worry about ds - he'll love having a wee bro/sis. Look forward to hearing your news. Grin

Laura032004 · 31/05/2006 18:30

Best wishes for tomorrow to Waswondering & bumpinsheffield and for Friday to carwillin

Congratulations to Piglet2006 on the safe arrival of baby Rachael.

Welcome to AdelaideS (always glad to see somebody else due at the end of the month!) & TheHun - sure you won't have long to wait if your dd was early.

blobsmummy - sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Is this no. 1? I tried everything to get ds started, but nothing did, and I wore myself out trying. I've promised myself I'm just going to be calm and let this baby arrive when it wants (easy for me to say though as I've still got 4 weeks left!).

vbab78 & LilacBump - I'm sure with all these upset tummies, shows and contractions that it won't be long for either of you :)

slinkstah - hope the stitch removal went OK.

mrsbabookaloo - glad the house move went OK. Hope you can have a rest and put your feet up soon.

diddle - I think they usually wait at least a week (esp. with first time mums) before thinking about induction. It's usually scheduled for around the 10-14 days overdue mark here.

Had my 36w MW appt today - got my homebirth pack Shock. It's all getting a bit real now! Just need to hold on until 37w for a HB though - sure I won't have any problems doing that!!!! We've got lovely weather here, had a great day out with ds. Hope it continues - he's a lot easier to handle when we can get outside.

bubbly1973 · 31/05/2006 20:18

waswondering, bumpinsheffield...all the best for tomorrow, and good luck, looking forward to hearing your lovely news!!

Smile

welcome to all the new girls who have joined, its never too late!!

have no show what so ever, last time i had ds i had a show about 2 weeks before my due date, then 5 days before due date had ds, this time around, i have nothing to indicate i will go into early labour but scared shitless that i will have a quick labour that i wont even get to the hospital!!

BABY2 · 31/05/2006 20:29

hello to any new ladiesi have missed. Our laptop broke on thursday last week and we got a new one at the weekend and have been trying to set everything up since, got there in the end.
took forever to read all the posts since then.
congratulations to the new mums i am so envious of you, i just want this pg to come to a end. The spd is giving me such pain i carn't walk some days i have been to midwife today as was 38 weeks yesterday, head still not engaged but she says this may not happen till i go into labour as it is seconed baby. i asked about induction and she said that they wont do it unless there is a problem with the baby untill im 14 days over due. now i keep thinking have 4 weeks left and not 2 of this pain.
Enough moaning for now i think. I will go and get a rasbery leaf tablet and some pineapple

surroundedbyboys · 31/05/2006 20:39

RachelPross · 31/05/2006 20:50

kittylette · 01/06/2006 01:09

hi

my midwife gave me an internal today to see how things were, i was 1cm dialted, my cervix was soft and low, and she said i was favourable,

i had aches since then (2pm) and had a clarysage bath, me and DF also had sex at about 10pm,

now ive got really bad BH and i dunno whether theyre actully turning into mild contractions!!

i dunno what to do... i cant sleep but i know its way too early on to contact anyone, lol

i just hope it all doesnt die down by morning

kitty, 38+3

Laura032004 · 01/06/2006 07:01

HAPPY JUNE - IT'S OUR MONTH NOW! Although I'm sure with a baby due on the 28th, my month will actually be July, but there's hope for most of you :)

BABY2 - sorry to hear that you're so uncomfortable. Have you asked for a referral to a consultant? I seem to know quite a few people that have had early/due date inductions/c-sections for SPD, so it seems unfair that you might have to wait a further two weeks before they'll induce you.

kittylette - welcome to the June 06 group. :) Hope this is it for you. I got mild cramps after I had internals (which depending on how 'rough' they are, aren't much different from a sweep). Keep us updated with your progress :)

sarahsbump · 01/06/2006 07:20

Hi all x
cant believe our month is finally here!! saw midwife yesterday am 36+5 and want this baby now!! the midwife said he is going to be a big baby and when i said my dp keeps saying he will be 10lb she said he wont be far off Shock i was hoping for a little one!!
Good luck to all those having sections Smile and welcome to the newbies x

Not long now x x

diddle · 01/06/2006 09:44

Good morning and good luck to everyone on this fine JUNE morning. Can't actually believe our month is here finally. i've got 7 days left until D day, and counting, can't wait for baby to arrve now and i;m desperately trying to put it to the back of my mind or i'm going to go crazy waiting.

kittlette - anything happening there this morning??

happybebe · 01/06/2006 11:14

happy june!

seen midwife today, she told me my baby is fully engaged and ready to go! am only 36 weeks, but had a show two days ago and have been having strong BH since then. have been told to pack hospital bag as could be any day now, hoep she does come early am desperate to meet her!

hope everyone else is okay :)

blobsmummy · 01/06/2006 12:21

Happy birth month everyone! Feeling less grouchy than yesterday. Smile

Laura - yes, this is the first baby. DH and I have been waiting for this moment now for 3 years (I've got PCO so had trouble conceiving) and my patience is now virtually non-existent! Also keep scaring myself by the thought that everyday longer she's in me, the bigger she gets - scary!!

Diddle - re: induction. Down here they give you a membrane sweep 7 days after your due date, and then induction is booked in for 7 days after that if nothing has happened in the meantime.

Baby2 - really sorry about your SPD. Now the baby's dropped mine has actually improved, but I know that doing the most simple tasks with it is virtually impossible - lets hope baby puts in an earlier appearance for you.

Kitty - any news?

I've got a few aches this morning, but i think I could have pulled some muscles getting into bed funny last night (just don't ask....... Wink) so am trying to ignore them. Right, off for yet another loo break (which is now the room I seem to spend most of my time in Grin).

666mummy · 01/06/2006 14:37

not really getting the hang of this lol.

Mitchell81 · 01/06/2006 16:23

Hello 666mummy, welcome to due in June. My dd weighed 10 lbs 4 oz, and at my last scan they said I will have 9 pound baby, but I am measuring 2 weeks behind with midwife. So who knows what this baby will weigh, also getting C/S at 38+2. So should be smaller than 10 pounds, I hope.

TheHun · 01/06/2006 17:22

Was convinced baby would arrive in may, can't believe I'm due on sat and still no signs. Never had a braxton hick with this or dd, baby just resting on nerves which is sending pains shooting down my leg and lower back, spd still painful. Keep staring at my hospital bag, so ready to go.

666mummy · 01/06/2006 17:42

mitchell81: hi its confusing aint it!?!?
i measured 3wks ahead with midwife!!
so why are you having a c~section then is it because of size!?!?

i havent had any signs today that mines coming!?!?!? its annoying, cant wait to be in pain in some respects now!?!?
raspberry tea definitly makes braxton hicks stronger even if your baby doesnt feel ready to come out!?!??

LilacBump · 01/06/2006 17:44

just a quick update from me.

been having contractions for 24 hours now. been to hospital this afternoon and sent home as i was only 1cm dilated, eventhough i was having regular strong contractions every 3 minutes. midwives said i was definitely in labour, but just progressing slowly. baby is supposedly big and lying in an awkward position with his head... just waiting around now, getting through contractions and keeping mobile. birth ball is excellent, highly recommend it.
