SuperSaint - a massive congratulations on your new arrival Grin - glad to hear that you are both OK.

I really hope I'm that quick.......

Laura032004 · 28/05/2006 20:26

Congratulations SuperSaint & welcome to baby Adam. Fingers crossed we all have such quick births :)

Thanks for the updated list LilacBump :)

All's well here. Just had a lovely night away in a hotel with a couple of friends - last break before the imminent arrival. It was very relaxing, and surprise surprise DS was absolutely fine without me here (first time I'd left him overnight - he's 2yrs 2months!). Back to reality now, but luckily DH has a long w/e for the bank holiday, so I should have a restfulish couple of days. :)

AdelaideS · 28/05/2006 22:26

Hi,
Been lurking for a while and I figure it's time to make myself known :)
I'm 41 (gasp!), DP 46, DS is 7, DD 5 and third due 27/6/06. DD was born super-quick at home, hoping to make it to lovely local maternity unit this time.

vbab78 · 29/05/2006 09:09

Many congrats supersaint. Grin

Update ... I'm 39 weeks tomorrow Shock with my 1st. Never thought I would get this far, which is silly as I've had no complications, touch wood.

However for the last 3 days, always 10.30pm onwards I have started losing the use of my right leg! Shock Also having twinges/pains along with the occasional bought of diarrhoea. Any one else had a problem like this that always seems to happen at a certain time of day? Is baby warming up?

Had a panic yesterday as baby wasn't moving. My baby has always been very active and especially loves a bath. But nothing, even when I prodded its leg which sticks out of my left side the most of the time. I checked the heartbeat but it seemed more faint than normal. DH reckoned that I tired baby out because I went on a mad cleaning spree yesterday. By the evening baby was back to its usual active, maybe more active self so panic over. Grin

Hope everyone else is fine.

trinity1 · 29/05/2006 09:41

Hi all, many congratulations SuperSaint with baby Adam, what a lovely name. I hope we all have such quick births! :o
Vbab98: Really hope you start feeling better very soon. Just like you have started manically cleaning! DP has just gone abroad to work again until Wednesday morning, but after that he starts his leave so will just have to hope baby doesn't make her appearance until then! Am trying desperately to slow down but no joy, am getting so excited! Hope everyone is having a lovely and restful Bank Holiday. :)

LilacBump · 29/05/2006 09:57

hi all
i've had my show last night. i had mild contractions for an hour or so and then they died down. so we had a curry, DP massaged my feet (read somewhere about pressure points) and i had a hot bath to get things going, but no luck.

diddle · 29/05/2006 10:06

supersaint - Huge congratulations on the birth of baby Adam, hopefully i'll be able to give you all my birth announcement soon. want baby here now.

Vbab - Keep an eye on those movements. Can;t believe you're 39 wks now, its gone so fast, although it is definitly slowing down now. Won't be long.

RachelPross · 29/05/2006 10:39

Happybebe - Have had the blood tests done for the liver complaint thing and all is fine. We came to the conclusion it's a foot pressing up. But thanx for your concern :)
37 weeks on weds this week and counting, can't wait to see me feet again!!!!Wink

happybebe · 29/05/2006 13:04

glad to hear you are okay rachelpross!

CONGRATS supersaint, hope i have a birth similar to yours, my last was 10 hours which they tell me is quick but it didnt seem like it! 3 hours will do me fine.

nothing happening here, lots of braxton hicks and walking like a duck when i suddenly need a wee but still 4 weeks to go. :)

carwillin · 29/05/2006 14:03

Congratulatioand Supersaint, I hope you and baby Adam are recovering well after such a quick birth.

Only 4 days left here and I can't wait, only 4 more uncomfortable nights of itching stretch marks and the pressure will be off.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying what is turning out to be quite a nice bank holiday - here in the Midlands at least:)

bumpinsheffield · 29/05/2006 18:15

Congratulations Supersaint Hope you and Adam are doing well. Good job you did trust your instincts!

Welcome Adelaides

Nothing happening here. Just got back from lovely day out with children, feeling tired but ok. Only 2 whole days left!!

HI WasWondering,
Going through the checkout at Sainsbury's the other day, not thinking about anything at all, when all of a sudden I had a HUGE panicky feeling of ohmygodi'vegottogivebirthandit'sreallygoingtohurt....
Came from nowhere

hannahsaunt · 29/05/2006 22:26

Waswondering (apols to all for butting in here!) - I've been meaning to tell you this for ages but keep remembering at inconvenient times. Apparently gestational length for each of your babies (assuming same father as it's the sperm that determines this) is the same. People tend to have babies around the same date of the month each time assuming normal c term delivery (e.g. ds1 was born on 3rd and ds2 on 5th and both were a week early). Given when your ds1's birthday is I reckon your consultant is pretty dead on for appropriate gestational length for db2. I know planned section isn't necessarily "as nature intended" but I don't think you need to worry about db not being ready come the end of the week Smile. HTH. Can't wait to hear your news Grin

congratulations to everyone thats had their babys already:) can't beleive its time we all start popping! i am 36.5 and have my cervical stitch out wednesday. i don't know whether labour will happen straight away or will take time so i am not paying much attention to my real due date.

good luck to whoevers next:)

happybebe · 30/05/2006 09:29

congrats piglet!

i woke up this morning to find lots of 'show'! only 35 + 5 weeks, so very early! last time with DD i had a show and went into labour nearly 2 weeks afterward so not too worried. cant believe things are starting to happen slowly though! still seems like yesterday DD was 5 months and i was looking at another positive pregnancy test! :) xx

mrsbabookaloo · 30/05/2006 11:46

Hello all: big CONGRATULATIONS to those who have had their babies, hope you and your little ones are all doing well, and welcome to our newcomers. I've been quiet for ages, as we moved house and were offline for 10 days (i don't know how I managed!), and then it has taken me days to catch up with reading the thread!

I'm due in less than a week, but not feeling too impatient, as I still feel i have a lot to do. I finished work and we moved two weeks ago and so I've been busy unpacking and now I've finally bought a few clothes and nappies for the little one and can put my hospital bag together.

I'm very lucky that I'm having a textbook pregnancy: every time i go to the midwife, my bump measures exactly the same number in cm for how many weeks pregnant I am. I had my last appt at 38 weeks, and baby was head down and 2/5 engaged, and the midwife doesn't want to see me again until my due date!

I wake up a lot in the night and am constantly peeing, but can't complain apart from that. Last night at the cinema she have me the biggest kick ever: I don't know what she was doing. I'm just enjoying these last days with just me and dh; loving being off work and pretending to be a housewife for the first time, and we had a nice bank holiday weekend together: maybe our last trip to the cinema for a long time..

We went to a yoga birth rehearsal on Sunday, and practised breathing and positions, which gave us both a bit more confidence. I'm in a stage now where I can't really believe this is going to happen, and I don't know if I'm really ready....but then I suppose you are never really prepared for your first baby....

Well that's my ramble and catch up, sorry for the long post...

diddle · 30/05/2006 12:06

mrsbabookaloo - you sound so calm and collected, especially after moving house as well. You will be doing baby the world of good.
I think it all feels like a dream, so surreal waiting for baby to arrive, i've got 9 days left till due date. wonder when it'll come?

Quick question for those who have been induced before: if baby hasn't popped out by my due date, and the midwife sets a date for induction, will she wait until the very last minute, as in 2 wks after my due date or is there a chance i coudl be induced a few days after my due date???

carwillin · 30/05/2006 12:27

Diddle - IME they wanted to do a sweep 7 days after the due date and then in for induction 10 days after due date. I'm not sure whether they would have done anything earlier if I had asked but were prepared for me to go 14 days after due date before having to be admitted for induction - this probably could have been longer if I had really dug my heels in but I was too impatient to wait any longer by then. HTH.

Congratulation to Piglet:)

A belated hello to AdelaideS :0

surroundedbyboys · 31/05/2006 09:30

hi girls. congrats to all with new babies.

how are we all feeling, especially those with older children on half term. i am just about holding it together. my mum is coming tomorrow until sunday, so hopefully i will get a few afternoon naps in. sometimes she is hard work, so i hope she makes an effort whilst she is here. i have booked in all the waxing, and general 'maintenance' things like haircut etc for this weekend too. any more news?

surroundedbyboys · 31/05/2006 09:31

oh, and re: induction, i think as long as within 14 days of due date, you will be able to say how long you want to wait.

LilacBump · 31/05/2006 09:39

Waswondering and bumpinsheffield, best of luck tomorrow!!!
