hi all, hope everyone is well..

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 11:42

Sorry to completely change the subject, but I have just picked DS up from nursery, and he has come hom with an invitation to a special assembly his school are holding on Friday to present my DS (and others!) with a Commendation certificate for all of his good, hard work this term!!

How proud is he?!!! And me for that matter!!! :o :o

awayfromhome · 29/03/2006 11:49

NatalieJane - well done to your son, I unfortunately came home from my DD's school with a note to say that their Easter party is on Friday and they have to come to school in an "easter costume"... any ideas appreciated!! - am absolutely rubbish at this kind of stuff..

fatbetty · 29/03/2006 11:52

A bunny rabbit? I'm sure you could pick up a pair of rabbit ears somewhere. Or maybe a chick?

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 11:53

Easter party on Friday?! Blimey, that's a bit early isn't it? And nice of them to give you plenty of time to get a costume sorted out!

Sorry can't help with the costume, I am also useless in the imagination department!!

staceym11 · 29/03/2006 12:15

oh NJ you must be so proud! lol

dd still at the stage where if she bends down and picks something up without falling over im proud and beaming!!

as for costume ideas..........i think bunny would be easiest!

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 12:40

I am still beaming Stacey!! Bless him, he is so excited as well! :o

staceym11 · 29/03/2006 12:48

hope the presentation goes well! im feeling really sick today, was ill this morning and now cant face food, even water making me feel ill!

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 12:59

It is awful is't it? I had it quite bad a couple of weeks ago, then it near enough disappeared, but I think it is on its way back in now! Mind, I am absolutely shattered, so it may be no worse, but just seems it if that makes sense?!

I feel really bad about complaining about feeling rough, I don't mean to, I know there are worse things than being PG!!!

MeAndMyBoy · 29/03/2006 13:05

NJ - well done to your little chap bet he's chuffed and rightly so.

I think I saw some rabbit ears in boots when I was in there on Monday - then just a brown jumper and trousers?

Or you could cut out egg shapes from wrapping paper and 'stick' them all over some clothes - an Easter egg hunt - have a different letter on each egg to make a word?

Or dress him in green jumper and brown trousers make a yellow paper wizards hat - Daffodil?

awayfromhome · 29/03/2006 13:08

Thanks for the suggestions - the bunny sounds good - just a bit tricky to pull off with a days notice, especially with my artistic skills!! The local market here has loads of fancy dress outfits - but none remotely suitable for easter... they do a great line in mermaids/snow white/ladybirds etc...

Think I will have to try and find a leotard and some ears tomorrow, stick a cotton tail on the leotard and hopefully be done with it :)

fatbetty · 29/03/2006 13:09

NJ, there is a website called familyfun.com that sometimes has great ideas for kids and costumes....not sure what they have for easter. they might give you some inspiration.

It's funny how the ms comes and goes. I'm not feeling too bad at the moment but felt horrible this morning and was soooo tired!! Was almost ready to beg dh to stay home and watch the kids so I could sleep.

awayfromhome · 29/03/2006 13:11

meandmyboy - like the egg and daffodil idea - I think that I am going to have to improve my creative thinking as I'm sure that there are going to be many more fancy dress events to attend!!

awayfromhome · 29/03/2006 13:14

fatbetty - I am finding that I feel very sick for a few days and then nothing at all for the next few and then it starts all over again...

Quite confusing, especially as I don't really enjoy the non-sick days, as I begin to worry about why I am not feeling sick!!

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 13:14

Meandmyboy, that Daff is a great idea :o, will have to remember that - yeah right, can't remember my name most of the time at the moment! Blush

zink · 29/03/2006 13:20

Hi everyone

Just reading all the messages. NJ, I can't wait to have a little one to be proud of. I think it's so sweet that he's getting a certificate - you must be so proud. I think I'd burst into tears.
And Easter outfits - sweeeeeeet! What about an eater egg - have half a cracked open shell on her bottom half and a sort of chicken on the top. Have no idea how to do this though!LOL
I'm also off to a wedding in South Africa in June, and have no idea what to wear - will check out some of the sites posted.
Was feeling very icky at lunch time, but felt better once I'd eaten.

HopingCat · 29/03/2006 13:21

awayfromhome - I've got exactly the same thing. I keep worrying when my sickness goes away and then being happy when it comes back! I know I should enjoy the non-sick days but I don't.

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 14:53

I am deffo starting to feel a bit sick now. Don't know if I am pleased because it shows that everything is as it should be, or annoyed because I didn't get any sickness with DS!

Kif · 29/03/2006 16:41

I feel I'm definitely showing now - at least my trousers are all really uncomfortable.

It's too early for maternity clothes, isn't it?

velcrobott · 29/03/2006 16:42

Am not showing Envy but am eating for two!!!! Though I am quite good at picking healthy snacks... maybe that's why I am not too big yet????

NatalieJane · 29/03/2006 16:47

Kif, I am sat here 5 weeks and 4 days PG (or something like that) in maternity jeans, with a belly that seems to get bigger by the hour and I feel really silly. I have laughed at people about wearing maternity stuff too early before, but I never will again after this! I honestly look about 14/15 weeks gone, I am starting to worry about just how big I am going to get.
