hi all, hope everyone is well..

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cece · 02/04/2006 14:29

Yes, that was what appealed to me. It is all over and you don't see anythin iyswim.

I went in at 8 am.
Went down for surgery at 8.45, back on ward by 10 am.
Didn't know anything about it one minute talking to anaesthetist, next minute waking up in recovery. The leaflet said there can be some bleeding but I have had only some spotting and no pains. Although my friend said she had pains like period pains.

Back home by midday. Although I slept all afternoon, felt a bit wobbly and very tired.

fatbetty · 02/04/2006 14:43

Harrogatemum and cece, I am thinking of you both!!

MS has truly kicked in now and I'm hating it. I woke up yesterday morning almost in tears as I was so tired after I just woke up. DH has been wonderful by taking care of the children this weekend but don't know what I'll do next week. Evening the thought of preparing their meals makes me ill. Have appointment to see MW tomorrow and will talk to her about ms. I'm set to fly to the states next week on my own with two kids and dreading the thought of my jet lag as well as the children's and ms!!! Any ideas to help with ms? Has anybody tried those preggie pops.....I'm getting desparate!

Mummy2Toby · 02/04/2006 22:19

Hi fatbetty - am sorry the morning sickness is bad, I have been lucky so far and I think that my sickness was a bug! Still feeling nauseous though Sad - I haven't tried the preggie pops but I think I mentioned before that I do sell them - I started a little home run business just after having ds, selling maternity, baby and toddler bits (at lower prices than the shops) and although I have slowed things down since being pg, I do still have some stock! They are supposed to be really good!
Thanks for all your comments about the MIL - I was also Shock and still am now, I am so annoyed that she even said it! Angry I think I will keep my distance or a while Grin

fatbetty · 03/04/2006 08:48

Thanks Mummy2Toby, I sound and feel like such a wimp!!! MS with ds2 was far worse and I remember saying to dh that I was never going to go through this again.....how quickly you forget. I go through phases where I feel okay but then it just hits me like a ton of bricks. Spent most of the weekend horizontal as that seemed to make me feel better. I wish I knew about you selling preggie pops as I bought some off the internet last night in desparation. Will let you know if they work or not.

Mermingy · 03/04/2006 09:18

Hi... can I join in the fun? My #1 and due 12 Nov :o (though not very good with dates!) Feeling VERY sick at the mo and gets worse eveyday :( And I can't even face ginger! What are these preggie pops? Need to feel better as leaving on Thursday to spend a month in Autralia/Thailand :) FYI I've had first MW booking appointment (told them I was going away) and am due to have dating scan when I come back in early May. Best wishes to everyone! I've added my details to the list...

Morning guys.

Harrogate Mum and Cece I am so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you both xx.

I got back from France late last night after a wonderful weekend, the chateau was so beautiful and peaceful. Weather was 20 degrees Smile

Just done another test cause I don't feel pregnant at all. No sickness or anything. It was still a BFP though. Have a bit of a tum but that could also be too much french food - the chateau has a michelin star and the food was amazing. I seem to have fallen of the last list so I've added myself back on.

MeAndMyBoy · 03/04/2006 09:34

Morning,

Harrogatemum - I'm so sorry to hear your news, I really hope that your scan on thursday is good news.

Cece how are you doing how was your weekend, I hope that the heartache is easing a little for you.

I went to a friends wedding yesterday it was an India wedding and amazing I've not seen an Indian ceremony before and a colleague very kindly told me what was going on so I understood.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

h x

mygirllolipop · 03/04/2006 09:35

Hi,
Harrogate mum, thinking of you and yes it is heartbreaking, I was less further on than you are now when I lost my third pg and it was still guttering. I don't want to give false hope however but I bled on and off for 4-6 weeks with DD3. I know another lady who was bleeding a long way through too and she is still pg at around 17 weeks.
I have heard about those preggie pops and was desperate to try them but I have found that the best way to beat MS is to eat little and often (how I hate hearing that advice) and make sure TMI.. that I poo often. When I need a No2 it makes me feel sick!
Got appointment for scan next weds when I'll be 9+2, am 8wks today.
Going back to bed soon as DD3 was a little cow last night!

the move is coming nearer, the contracts have gone to the soliciters so its getting there, having a fitting for a wedding dress later this month with dp's mate so hopefully we wont have to spend too much as only have about £300 left in the budget and we still need his suit and the food!!!

awayfromhome · 03/04/2006 12:58

Hello everyone,

harrogatemum - sorry to hear your news - I hope that the scan brings good news - fingers crossed for you.

So far managing to eat and drink all the wrong things this time round. I was sooo good during my first pregnancy about what I should be having etc. Today I went out for a drink with friends and bought a fresh orange juice, thinking about my fruit intake, was about 1/2 way through it when I wondered whether or not it was pasteurized, couldn't remember the rules etc so ended up leaving it.

Now about 2 hours later feel sick, so I have managed to convince myself that my drink has done some harm!! Think I need to sit down and re-read these pregnancy books, haven't opened one for this pregnancy yet!!

NatalieJane · 03/04/2006 13:39

Afternoon all :)

Cece and Harrogatemum, I am thinking of you both, I will keep my fingers crossed for Thursday.

Hope everyone else is doing well?

We had a bit of a sad weekend, we had a 7 month old puppy who I loved to bits, but sadly he tried to bite me on Saturday morning so we had to return him to his breeder (we couldn't take a chance with him, with having our DS and a new baby on the way) so I am a bit down today, but on the plus side we are going to see my mum down south at the weekend to tell her about the baby and so I am trying to look forward to that.

Anyway, enough yapping, hope you all enjoy your afternoon :)

fatbetty · 03/04/2006 16:53

Sorry to hear about your puppy NJ.

staceym11, I'm exhausted from just thinking about you going out on Friday. Best of luck with the upcoming move.

Just got back from my first MW visit. Just went through all the family history, took some blood, check blood pressure and all that fun stuff. Feeling better this afternoon as I've been grazing on food all day and it seems to help. Even felt good enough to tidy up my house!!! Wow. Maybe it's because the sun is shinning - for a few minutes anyhow.

NatalieJane · 03/04/2006 17:05

Thanks FB, :)

Do you feel all official now you've seen the M/W?Wink I suppose I should get round to ringing the doctors at some point this week!

fatbetty · 03/04/2006 17:12

I feel somewhat official I suppose but still haven't told people so doesn't seem real yet. Just feel whingy about the way I feel and hate making excuses for not going places because i feel miserable. We will tell our families over Easter and then wait to tell others after the first scan. I was hoping they could check the heart beat today but said it was too early still.

NatalieJane · 03/04/2006 17:21

We are telling my family this weekend, was really hoping to tell my mum but she will take one look at me and know!

I know what you mean about feeling guilty for moaning, I went into town this morning and bought a fair bit that was quite heavey, so I have been practically knocked out for the rest of the day, have only managed to empty dishwasher, hoover, do DS's lunch, and sit about not doing much else! Poor DH spent the weekend trying to keep the house up for me so I would have an easier week, and it is already falling behind again!! Roll on 12 weeks, last PG I felt great until about 30 weeks!

Northerner · 03/04/2006 22:12

I went to see my GP today, he was very matter of fact about it all and reminded me that the first 12 weeks are cruicial and that miscarriage is an option. Thanks for that. Do they really need to say that to a newly pregnant woman?

MeggLeVache · 03/04/2006 22:26

Hello everyone!
NJ sorry to hear about your pup- you are definitely doing the right thing, I'm sure you know that anyway - still, it doesn't make it easier does it?
Mermingy Hello you, I'm very Envy about your journey/trip you really are doing things the right way round aren't you. With hindsight I wished I'd had a fab trip before ds was born. Imagine all those lovely photos you'll be able to show him when he's older!
Northerner same Envy to you and your French jaunt - yummy French food - drooool (welcome too BTW!
Fatbetty you'll probably miss this post to you as you'll be avoiding all the food related ones. Seriously I hope your sickness doen't linger for too long - I remember so well last time how grim it was.

I feel like such a terrible fraud as I have no sickness at all (although I understand it can kick in at anytime) just seem to be bloating even more - can't hide it for much longer.
Cece
Harrogatemum

  • I don't think I'd be able to say anything that hasn't been said here already. It's so bitter sweet to be reading your posts and then another newbie's straight after. You are both in my thoughts. I hope you are able to get lots of rest. xx

Staceym11 pizza for brekkie...hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I had a lovely day with my groovy 11 year old niece today clothes shopping for her Birthday treat I felt very young ang hip buying a blue polka dot smock from TOPShop only to be laughed at and told I look like a granny in it. I protested and bought it anyway, I'm probably deluded but thought I looked like a very glam fat Jackie O instead! Grin They have some lovely things in there at the moment.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2006 09:06

Morning all :o

I am still really cut up about it Megg, but we have decided it is time to look forward, no point in keep going back over it all, the breeder will let us know how the dog is getting on in his new home so we will have no worries there, and it isn't doing me or the baby any good to keep stressing about it.

So today I am going to try and 'do something' with DS's bedroom, I think if I come back out alive it will be worth it!!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

mygirllolipop · 04/04/2006 09:13

We told the first RL person last night about the pg, she was great about it, roll on weekend away so we can tell more.

Esmummy · 04/04/2006 09:13

Have absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, feels fine and dandy which is amazing compared to last time, although slightly concerning - making me panic a bit.

Esmummy · 04/04/2006 09:25

Also - this baby will be a winter baby whereas DD was a sumer baby so clueless as to what i should be buying and how many etc - can we get a list going ?

NatalieJane · 04/04/2006 09:30

I really shouldn't be here Esmummy, but I think a list would be a great idea, I am in the same position, my DS was a March baby, so haven't really a clue as well.

I will be watching this with interest! Good idea!!

Bye for now though xxx

HopingCat · 04/04/2006 09:31

It's taking me ages every time I log in to catch up with where everyone is up to. I apologise now if I start saying things that other people have said, but for those who are suffering with ms I really do believe that eating little and often is working for me. I thought my sickness had gone, but then I got my eating habits out of the pattern I'd got going and I felt really sick. It's not always practical but I do find that eating 2 small breakfasts with a couple of hours gap, and then 2 small lunches with another gap really helps.

I'm now 9+2 and still haven’t had anything through from midwife, hospital or anything with an appointment date. My GP said I should probably have had letter by now. Has anyone else who’s due in first week of November had their booking in appointment or their scan date through yet?

fatbetty · 04/04/2006 09:36

My kids were born in opposite season (ds1 in Feb, and ds2 in august). I have saved all their clothes and really didn't have to buy too many clothes as I had all the tshirts and sleepsuits. A few people bought me little short outfits which were great. But I suppose if it was the other way around (have the summer clothes but not winter) then you'll have to buy something warmer. Or just layer clothes.
