I haven't either, I stopped around 23/24w I think when I hit a stone

horseylady · 11/10/2012 12:14

Made the departments day by bringing in 100 samosas.

Yum!!!

Wiggly baby today!! My mood is better (thankfully!!) but still think I could be pushed.

Donna lovely to hear from you!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 11/10/2012 12:35

Afternoon everyone.

I've managed to avoid piles this time

As for weight, the midwife always weighs me and gives me the leaflet for the local maternity slimming group but actually she said I've not done too badly at all considering I was tiny before I fell preggers and my mobility is so restricted I can't exactly walk or swim or anything to keep fit, combined with the savage sickness that I still get every other day/night meaning I can only eat mainly carbs a bigger gain was always going to happen.

Luckily, I find loosing weight quite easy, keeping it off is a challenge but I'll tackle that at a later date.

I've just got rid of the last lot of clutter from the house, I'm done now, fully done! Got a couple of extra packs of maternity pads and breast pads for good measure. I'm not buying any more baby stuff at all now.

ComradeJing · 11/10/2012 12:37

If I do the same as I did with DD I'll be back to my 16w weight (ie at my lightest from all the spewing and morning sickness) the day after I give birth but then will gain around 10 kg over the next 8 months as lack of sleep and crap diet slowly kills me.

Bloody sodding fire alarm went off today and I had to carry 22month dd (12kg++) down 23 flights of stairs. I was seriously concerned I was going to give birth then and there when I got to the bottom.

NervousAt20 · 11/10/2012 12:41

horsey you would have made my day with 1 samosa, during this pregnancy I can't get enough of them with thick cut tomatoes. I never really liked either before hand though

MissMummy1 · 11/10/2012 12:47

Unimpressed. Waiting for 8 parcels from eBay and one from Amazon. All ordered last week (Wednesday to Friday - can you tell I had an invoice paid last week?!). Postie's just been - first time this week - and brought ruddy junk mail. My theory they keep all my parcels and deliver them in one go is being proven right now... Wouldn't normally mind but a few bits and pieces are dh's birthday presents and I want them to come before he goes onto leave and is moping around the house all day while I'm at work. Grr.

Lovely to hear from you and lovely name donna - I know an adorable little Darcey!

I had put on about 3st last time I stood on the scales Shock - avoiding them at all costs now!!!

MissMummy1 · 11/10/2012 12:48

and a huge bargainous bundle of maternity/breastfeeding tops that might just end in our divorce if he finds I've bought more clothes Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/10/2012 12:51

comrade23? That's ridiculous.

I never had piles until I gave birth to DS they have been a pain this pregancy.

I have a constant period pain, just constant, it really is uncomfortable. I want to cry. I daren't cry because DH is here and he will say I shouldn't drive to Brum to pick up the girls tomorrow but I am desperate to see them as the have been with their dad for two weeks and I miss them. I also don't want him to think he might might to cancel NOrthern Irelnad as if he doesn't go DS won't see his nanny till chrimbo and DH has lots of house meetings to have.

Maybe I will go and hide.

stunt thanks for the weather report! I have packed for DS accordingly, though I have put a hat in as Nanny's generally think grandsons should have one more layer on than is required in reality. I don't want her to think I don't take care of her boys properly.

Bluetinkerbell · 11/10/2012 12:58

Had my consultant appointment this morning with scan and review, scan was all fine, baby measuring perfect for gestation 34+4 weeks (even with my small bump Wink ) Sonographer still couldn't be 100% sure of girl, although she said she saw something that looked like girly bits...
Saw registrar afterwards, think my consultant was busy. He hadn't bothered reading my notes so was a bit insensitive... Hmm But most importantly, I was released to midwife led care and got the go ahead for a home birth :) very very pleased!
Now still trying to sort out the silly whooping cough vaccine with my doctor's surgery... Apparently I could have had it on Monday with my flu jab... That's not what the nurse said that actually gave me the jab... ah well, they're ringing me back about it...

LittleLolly · 11/10/2012 13:07

donna I love the name Darcey, very pretty. Glad you are getting to go home. I'm looking forward to hearing some birth stories when you ladies have time!

I went to an active birth class yesterday, bought some nursing bras, put the bedside crib up and am now completely ready for this baby to arrive. So I am sure it will be another 4 weeks!!

When do they induce you? Is it 42 weeks or less?

horseylady · 11/10/2012 13:16

Work has just given me loads of presents and flowers!! I've done well not to cry!!

StuntNun · 11/10/2012 13:24

Lolly I think it's usually ten days over unless there's a compelling reason but it probably depends on your consultant (and space at the hospital as well).

Quick update- MW thinks early labour, but equally boy may settle down and wait two weeks. I need to go in if waters break, or if I start getting regular contractions 30 minutes apart or less. They would then just section me as soon as there was a free theatre. Happy with that.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/10/2012 13:43

Oo vq you may be next!

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 13:47

I am doing my best not to, honest. GT will be next, then Catbag should be!!! What are you doing woman? I so feel for you, with two little cherubs on board x

NervousAt20 · 11/10/2012 13:47

Oo exciting valium how are you feeling?

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 13:52

Varies on hospital policy Lolly if it is just for being 'overdue' then some hospitals go with T+10, some T+12 and some T+14. Your community midwife will know if you ask her.

I think I have woke on the wrong side of the bed today!! Started off great - I managed a full nights sleep, minus waking a few times, but was actually able to go straight back asleep. I didn't get up to wee once Grin so when I finally surfaced at 11am, I had managed 11 hours without a wee! Woohoo!

It all went down hill after that though :( DP had promised me that this morning after taking DS to school he would clean up and make sure the house was presentable, as I have a midwife coming this afternoon. Also I start nights tonight so didn't want to be up too early doing it all myself and thus be knackered for work tonight.

DP has as far as I can see done very little in the way of cleaning up. He did the one thing I asked him to do this morning, but nothing that I asked him to do last night before I went to bed. Even the big pot of soup I made yesterday, and left for him to decant in to tubs once it had cooled was still left in the same pot, on top of the cooker Angry. Complete waste - it had milk in it as it was a chowder.

And I know exactly what he was doing this morning, he was playing computer games. I'm seriously annoyed, but if I start having a go it is only going to make me feel worse (and it shouldn't require me having a hissy fit for him to do it!). I'm breaking my back carrying on working full time, and he is still working part time, is not pregnant, and is not reliably doing what needs to be done! He pulls his finger out and does it, but then lapses back to sloth mode for a couple of days.

I am also sat here, in a thin dressing gown, pouring in sweat. The heating is not on. URGHHHHHH. I might have to have a cold shower in a minute!

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 13:53

VQ Grin

It's all I'm saying...!

blonderthanred · 11/10/2012 13:58

Oh wow VQ that's exciting. Keep us updated.

I've just been to Babies R Us to buy something bargainous that I'd seen online, except then I bought loads of other stuff. Most of it was already on the list so it's not a huge problem but I was quite Shock when the total came up.

Got lots of Amazon and other parcels arriving, including DH's birthday present hurrah - his birthday was the same day as my original due date but will now fall a couple of weeks after the birth. Glad to have that organised.

Oh and the mw just popped round with the TENS machine she is lending me. The house is a tip: mostly it's bags of baby stuff but also we have 2 double mattresses in the hallway that we need to dispose of - classy.

ValiumQueen · 11/10/2012 14:00

Thank you for that detective.

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/10/2012 14:38

lol Id be dying to get the baby out vq I wish I could have her now!

Had a v greasy fry up for lunch which has flushed out my system Wink belly goes hard alot nowadays, Ive been having BHs since about 20 weeks but seems to be more frequent now.

My lovely bag from Asos should be coming either today or tomorrow, cant wait Grin

GTbaby · 11/10/2012 14:42

Still waiting for dr. They r monitoring me again. Baby sleeping. So drank cold water. MW thinks they will induce earlier, but they have 3 women waiting already so not likely to b today. Hope they let me go home Sad I wana NEED to have my eye brows done! N I didn't buy nursing bras. Spent spare time yesterday buying a camcorder! Put together the crib together. N then went out for anniversary meal.

So bored Sad can't concentrate to read

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 14:44

Oh for actual fucks sake! It really only could happen to me....!!

Was expecting community midwife between 4-5pm as agreed because of the night shifts. Sat here as described above, in a thin dressing gown, sweating ones bollocks off. (If one had bollocks). Unshowered, unbrushed hair... not even brushed teeth yet! When there was a knock at the door.

Yup, midwife there. Let her in, and run up the stairs to throw clothes on, when my laptop starts belting out 'POUR SOME SUGAR ON MEEEEEEEEEEEEE' bit o' Def Leopard while I'm hopping around with one foot in a pair of leggings.

Then the dog started barking, and knocked the ironing board over in the kitchen.

I'm still running around trying to put clothes on, and the midwife is calling up the stairs asking if I'm ok!! ARRRGHHHHHH!

Anyway, check was fine. Baby has had a growth spurt Grin and has gone from 32cm last week to 35cm this week Grin

Hahahahahahahaha (if I don't laugh I'd cry!)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/10/2012 14:44

Hope you get to go home gt

TheDetective · 11/10/2012 14:45

VQ, it will be fine. I am sure he is just giving you the run around :)

Hows things now?!
