I took my wedding ring off when I was 5 months pregnant with DD, it has never fit back on my finger since!! It?s been two years!! If I can?t get it back on a good while after this birth I will have to consider getting it re-sized.

I ended up with a skin tag in my arm pit, when I am a bit more flexible I will snip it off! So far (touches wood and whistles) I haven?t got any stretch marks on my bump, just on my thighs, which are from puberty really with a few new pregnancy ones.

GTbaby · 16/10/2012 23:49

Grin rose tinted glasses firmly on.

Amazing little boy born at 2.02pm. Weighing 7.5lbs.

I guess I'll add my "birth story" to post natal.

So tired right now! Yet can't sleep despite lack of sleep today n all day yesterday.

A little annoyed at lack of help re breast feeding. N I've never changed a nappy. N when DH asked if I'd get help with this MW kind of just laughed! Didn't get skin to skin because of bleeding and stitches. Didn't have a proper birth plan. So kinda glad I didn't have my mind set on certain ideas. My baby is here safe n sound.

N despite the initial 3 hours of no breast feeding ( in the end gave formula) and constant crying , can't stop looking at him. He is amazing.

So any tips on getting baby back to breast wud b great! FYI , Found a helpful midwife who said my nipples r flat, so try nipple shields. Wud u agree/ disagree?

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 23:54

I had quite a good nights sleep. Before I get into bed I always start thinking 'will it happen tonight?'. It's so stupid because it just works me up!! So anyway I am glad I managed to grab some decent sleep.

I need to get up off my bum, have a shower and then I'm taking dd to the park. I have not taken her in ages and feel bad. I am hoping to drive past a 7-eleven so i can pop in and grab some doughnuts!! saddo! I'm not sure what the weather is doing today though.

I am very tempted to fill up the rest of this thread!!!!

blonderthanred · 16/10/2012 23:56

Amazing, congratulations GT.

ComradeJing · 17/10/2012 00:01

CONGRATULATIONS GT!!!

Well done and enjoy it! Thanks

I suggest you get thee to the BF boards. The advice I had there was absolutely brilliant and kept me going past the initial horrible first week of bfing. I used nipple shields as I/DD just couldn't figure out the latch and they were brilliant but I know that some people DONT approve of them and they are supposed to inhibit supply. I didn't find this but just be aware of it if you google.

Isn't there a breast feeding support helpline? Le leche league? A bfing counselor who can visit?

Don't forget that it can take a few days for breast milk to come in so don't stress if DS doesn't get much in the first couple of days.

ComradeJing · 17/10/2012 00:04

Speaking of stretchmarks... I got some with DD on my lower belly when she finally dropped and some on my hips and thighs.

This time though I haven't had any. 5 weeks to go though so (if it's the same as DD) still time for them to suddenly pop up! I also got more AFTER the birth last time than before.

Having said that I'm only just at my pre pg weight where as I think I weighed more than this at this stage with DD. Can't remember though!

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 00:16

Hooray for another baby! Well done GT! I am sorry you didn't get much support re feeding but I am sure you will get plenty on here.

Iheartpasties · 17/10/2012 03:08

NervousAt20 · 17/10/2012 04:27

Congratulations GT Grin I hope the MW start giving you some support soon. There are lots of wise ladies on here who I'm sure will have some great advice for you

Joining the 4am club Sad

Cacacaz · 17/10/2012 04:45

Congratulations GT Grin what lovely news

Also in the 4am club today, which is just typical since I have a midwife appointment this morning and need to be up in less than 3 hours. I'm hoping I will get my wc vaccine today although not holding out much hope as my doctors surgery have been worse than ridiculous thus far. So far I have gad every possible excuse as to why they don't have it yet Angry I really need the vaccine this week as I'm currently 37+3.

GTbaby · 17/10/2012 05:03

Hello sleepless nights Wink. No name for baby yet. Going thro tradition visit temple, given a letter, choose a name with given letter route. Going to b tough! Lol.

The tar nappies suck. Looking forward to going home n mil taking over some boring chores n then I can concentrate on cuddle time.

Mean while am getting annoyed with mother across from me who seems to b on a phone call abroad. N has been for last half hour.

GTbaby · 17/10/2012 05:10

She was just told to get off phone by mw who happened to walk past. She hasn't tho! Tempted to call mw n tell on her

NervousAt20 · 17/10/2012 05:23

cacacaz they should be doing everything they can to give you this vaccine, I was ment to have mine yday but missed the appointment but now don't know if ill even bother seems as LO will be here Friday

GT any idea on when you'll be allowed to go home?

I'm making Yorkshire Puddigs, wish I had cake though

pikz · 17/10/2012 05:28

Congratulations GT here's hoping you get lots of help and cuddles Smile

Am bored of my bladder waking me up now. Roll on mat leave starting on Friday.

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 05:36

Congrats GT Glad you and baby are well. Look forward to hearing your story!

Hows the feeding going now? There are some selfish women on the ward, aren't there :( I'd be really cross!!

4am club for me too. Rather annoyed since I didn't even go to bed til 1!! I had a relaxing bath, then me and DP had a cuddle, and he gave me a massage, so I was hoping for a lovely relaxing sleep. Woke and thought it seemed fairly light outside, panicked and thought it was 7 as it was just at that 'changing light' bit. Sat bolt upright, then realised I couldn't hear traffic (main road) so it most definitely couldn't be 7. No. It was 0416. I investigated the light outside, turns out some twat in the council has put a super fucking bright bulb in the street light opposite Shock

You could probably see the light from space Hmm

So now I have not just eaten half a chocolate cake. And I am most definitely not cooking potato skins. No. Figment of the imagination. Definitely. Grin

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 05:37

Nervous, come here for cake, there seems to be half a cake somewhere... Grin

NervousAt20 · 17/10/2012 05:45

detective I am jelous! Yorkshire puddings just didn't cut it. I knew I should have got off my lazy arse went shopping Sad

My hips are killing too but they need to stop, I've got so much to do these next 2 days its unreal

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 05:50

I'm hoping for a more successful day today! I'm more comfortable on my toe this morning, as I bandaged it with some antifungal cream yesterday, and the pain and swelling has subsided a little. I will have to see what shoes I can get on! Flip flops won't cut it in this weather!

I have so many things I'd like to get done too, but none of it is happening as I'm not dragging myself about in agony for the sake of it!

I'll just have to be lady muck, and send orders instead Grin

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 05:52

Yorkshires would have been great for me TBH!

Anything covered in veggie gravy is doing it for me right now! In fact, that is tea sorted this evening!!

Roasties, yorkshires and veg. In gravy. Nom.

NervousAt20 · 17/10/2012 05:56

So you didn't try garlic on your toe? Grin I'm thinking onion rings next hmm

I'm glad DP is taking time of work so can drive me everywhere

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 06:00

I did buy garlic... but ate it instead Grin

Onion rings as in the deep fried ones? Mmmmmm! I ate a whole grab bag of the crisp ones yesterday.

How I haven't put 10 stone on, I really don't know.

NervousAt20 · 17/10/2012 06:07

Oven ones, if it was raining of be tempted to hit tesco but I'm not that desperate yet . I probly have put 10 stone on, just haven't hit the scales to know

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 06:27

The potato skins were lush! Mmmmm.

Still hungry. Sigh. Could eat 10 more of the damn things!

It's belting it down here again today. I see a repeat of yesterday occurring!
