OMG nervous how exciting and terrifying all at once! How early is early? Sorry can't remember when you're due! Gosh this is fast becoming an October baby thread! Are you all organised?? All the very best to you xxx

One text message blackmailed convinced him we are missing Tuesday Domino's from our lives. Apparently he has 'sympathy cravings' for it too!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/10/2012 16:32

nervous wow. That must be a shock. Are you ready?

I had my Vegi Mexicano last night and IT. WAS. LUSH. That is all I have to say on the matter!

I am hungry now.

Mega nest complete. Almost. Once I put the ironing away. Hospital bag near the front door. One thing I have forgotten.......nappy bags. But not the end of the world if I haven't got any before something happens.

Soon off to get the boys from Heathrow. Looking forward to seeing them even though the quiet time has been nice.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/10/2012 16:37

Oooh nervous that's v soon! How many weeks will you be?

I'm annoyed I bought a electronic book/ game thing for ds from a charity shop, got it home and it doesn't work, not even with new batteries. It was only £2 and that's gone to charity but would have liked it to work for ds!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/10/2012 16:53

That is naughty dh they shouldn't sell it of it doesn't work.

horseylady · 16/10/2012 16:55

How annoying dh!!

Good luck nervous!! Any news gt??!!

Lol at all the pizza people tonight!!! I'm having vege escallops (or a pie I've not yet decided) roasted new potatoes and aubergine with a red onion quick chutney thing that nigella was making last night. As I'm off I've just had time to prep it!! Dh having the same veg but with lamb shank.

Busy day, did the horses, then went to see my nan who had a bit of an incident and I'm now wondering if I should have said something. I didn't. I have now told my mum. She had loads of stuff for the baby from her and my aunt. A baby bath with new born bits (how the he'll do you store a bath??!!) a big activity gym thing and a bouncing chair which plays music. I'm now thinking the baby should have had the bigger room he already has so much stuff and hasn't arrived yet!!!

I then left my nans, went to sainsburys and was starving so bought a sandwich (was very yummy!!) and did the food shopping. While hungry and so I couldn't remember anything I needed, only that I wanted to eat NOW!! I felt better post sandwich!! Then went to dun elm bought the black out blind (wrong size!!) and some more sheets and some coat hangers. Got home, unloaded everything, put everything away, including the babies stuff. Attempted to sort through the huge box of clothes I've been given, failed and decided to walk the dogs.

Walked them for an hour, puppy dog is behaving like demon dog, she was just a pain, I wish dh had done more training with her- he wouldn't let me as she was supposed to be 'his dog' anyway, I'll bring the terror into line. She sleeping peacefully now, she's just mental!!! Big dog was the same, it's just a matter if making them tick.

Just done the veg for tea, had a cup of tea and caught up in here!!

And written an epic post lol!! I was going to go swimming but think I've done enough today :)

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 16:59

Oooooh Nervous, you'll be absolutely fine and now you have 2 full days notice to get everything sorted, so not too much time to shite yourself, but enough to work those nesting fairies to the bone and get any last minute things.

I've just had all my homebirth stuff delivered. On one of my many trips to the toilet last night I was thinking that it won't be organised in time as I'm not seeing my midwife now until I'm 37+5 and she wanted to do it then. One text to her this morning asking if maybe that's a tad late and ta-dah, I have pool and all the stuff. Amazing to think that this is the same place that has forgotten about Daisy (see the other thread). Hubbies going to shite himself for certain now lol Grin

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 17:04

Rowing, I was being extremely crass before (I love to shock people in RL with words), I meant all my 'down below holes' Grin

I've made all the family chicken casserole but don't know what to have for me (veggie). Don't fancy anything but tomatoes at the minute and don't have any cheese :(

capedcrusader25 · 16/10/2012 17:04

Hi all,

Enjoying my maternity leave more than I though, especially as I'm feeling 100% better since finishing. Sorry for everyone who isn't able to sleep so good, I still have to get up lots for a wee but the sleep in between is better. Luckily DP and me like to have space in the bed so he stays on his side!

Struggling with my appetitie - as in I don't have one. Don't want anything to eat, just want to drink lots of orange juice and milk!

36 weeks this week. Very jealous of you Nervous - when is your DD? Mine is still breech and I'm fed up of waiting for my next midwife appointment so she can send me to the hospital so they can sort a section. I'd be very surprised if she moved now...

I read every day although I don't post, I hope GT is doing well and all you other lovely ladies are holding up Thanks

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/10/2012 17:15

They obv didn't check it first grr!

We're having chicken ceasar salad tonight, not hugely filling but we really like it and I've got a doughnut for pud!

I keep craving custard, esp on top of apple crumble. It's my fav dessert anyway but I've been wanting it so much recently.

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 17:17

Oh wow nervous - gosh given you're due on the 4th November - that is a surprise. Lots of love and best wishes to you and better to get her out safe and sound now. Am very envious that you are meeting your wee girl so soon. Am also v glad from your other thread that you went to get checked out. I guess the lesson to all of us is that you can be leaking fluid and not regularly wet pads (despite the fact that seems to be how MWs judge it) - if we are worried we need to insist on being properly checked.

Am now analysing my most recent bladder movements / discharge sharts being paranoid about fluid loss. Will be thinking about you on friday as we're at the maty for a scan. Actually they will be checking fluid levels then so I should stop panicking...

Still no news from GT ok she is DEFINITELY cuddling her baby now. Envy

Our tea isn't half as exciting as Dominos but given we can't get it here (it's not as bad as the M&S food ads - they are total torture on the island and I have been known to pile off my train at Inverness and dash to the store there for a mad 20 minute 'trolley dash' between trains to stock up on M&S goodness) I can't complain. DH is cooking singapore noodles for tea. I'm going to insist we get pudding too....

Titsalinabumsquash · 16/10/2012 17:17

Nervous how exciting! By the weekend you'll be snuggling your little girl! Grin Wink

I have not left my bed all day, had to take a Tramadol because pain was too much but again only took 1 rather than 2 and haven't taken any for a few days.
However it seems to have left my skin crawling so although the pain is gone I'm sitting here in the buff because I can't stand my clothes on. Blush

Baby is moving well today and I'm feeling quite content.

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 17:21

tits I do think you and the other ladies with SPD are being ever so brave. I'm moaning myrtle in our house without any serious preggo pain. Glad to hear you're feeling content.

Passmethecrisps · 16/10/2012 17:29

Omg nervous that is amazing!

I went into town today - had such intense Braxton hicks that I am sure people were looking at me thinking they would need to call me am ambulance. Bought myself a big ball today as well. What should I be doing with it? Don't want a broken fanjo - want an engaged baby.

Off to yoga now - had a curry for lunch so my apparetif this evening with be mostly gaviscon.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/10/2012 17:32

Took my wedding ring off and can't get it back on Sad

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 17:34

I sit on mine for an hour or so a night and just bounce away gently whilst watching the telly. If I've got a bad back I might roll my hips from side to side on it. It seems to help. It's good if you've a tendency to slouch with knees higher than hips as that can lead to malpositioning of the baby (back to back). In theory anyhoo. Mine is comfier than the couch and good for getting over my office chair discomfort when I get in from work.

It also freaks out the cat

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 17:35

My rings are off too. I hate it. I'm not old fashioned in the slightest but I don't want folks thinking I'm updiffed and not married WTF did that attitude come from?!"!!! I'm a fricking hippy for god's sake. I put it down to living on a conservative wee island.

applepieinthesky · 16/10/2012 17:38

Wow nervous. Not long at all. I'm so jealous of all these October babies. I just know mine's going to be December.

MM I had the Chicken Mexicano on Sunday and justified it to myself by adding spinach to help my iron levels Grin

TheDetective · 16/10/2012 17:46

I'm completely broken! I can't honestly describe quite how difficult it was walking today, but put it this way, all plans for the near future are cancelled!

I had a nap this morning and afternoon and did nothing else until I dragged myself off to school for DS. I couldn't get out the car and do the walk, so had to ring the school and ask them to let him out to walk to me in the car! Blush

I got DS to help me out the car at Lidl (which I figured, despite never being in one before, would have the things I needed for tea) and he got me a trolley to lean on. I dragged my foot behind me, and winced at every teeny tiny step. Between what I now think is more than just a pulled bloody muscle, and a probable infected toe, I was nearly immobile! I'm ok in the house though, because I can go with out shoes! Which makes things 10x easier!

Turns out Lidl was as shite as Aldi (for me!) so I then had the annoying task of going to Asda to get what I actually needed! While in Asda I had a sudden moment of 'ohmygodI'mgonnavomit' and started wretching :( cue DS shouting 'mum are you gonna be sick, you gonna be sick mum, are you gonna be sick' Blush. Anyway, I managed to contain myself til I got home.

I'm now sat here having dosed up on paracetomol, cream on the stupid toe with a dressing on it, sudacrem under my boob for the heat rash, and I've knocked back some Ranitidine for the heartburn.

I'm so over being pregnant now.

And I found a new stretch mark Angry.

Now my moan is over, i'll read the rest of the thread Grin

kissyfur · 16/10/2012 17:49

Oh wow nervous very exciting! SmileGrin

I might end up being here til the bitter end, as I am refusing induction for term plus alone, so.... I'm in for the long haul too!

I guess it will be here by Christmas Grin

Nervous Best of luck for Friday, hopefully you will be home by the end of the weekend, with your little one! I'd say I'm jealous, but I can't allow myself to be, not til 28th when this one is allowed to arrive anyway!

Pass Don't open your legs too wide on it! I sat there for an hour bouncing away with my legs wide open, around the dining room chair for support and the laptop. I dunno if it caused the pain, but it seems suspect!!

TheDetective · 16/10/2012 17:54

I give myself Braxton Hicks just by rubbing bump!

If he moves vigorously it can induce some BH's, and needing a wee or poo can do the same!

I never had any at all first time round, but this time I'm well aware of them, and have been since 16/17 weeks!

horseylady · 16/10/2012 17:57

Detective - aldi flapjacks are brill and only 49p!!! The peanuts are good too. And bread. And soup. And cakes.

I'm shocked you couldn't find anything lol!!

MissMummy1 · 16/10/2012 18:03

Detective the whole underside of my bump is a map of stretchmarks. I'm tempted to sue bio-oil, been slathering it on twice a day since 12 weeks! Suppose I've only got the sudden tripling in bump size at 30 weeks to blame Sad. Here's hoping they'll disappear/fade post d-day!

Never had a dominoes delivered to the new house. Tempted to order as soon as he gets ashore at 7 so hopefully it'll be here for him getting home. I had it down to a t in my apartment when I was commuting up north and back everyday - as soon as I hit 5 o'clock bridge traffic I could order it from my phone and it would be there a few minutes after I got home. How sad am I?!?

TheDetective · 16/10/2012 18:07

I found both Aldi and Lidl was just full of stuff I didn't need! Stuff that might be nice, yes, but not things I needed!!

And Lidl was no cheaper than Asda!

Very unimpressed! Was hoping to shop in various places now I'm on leave and have the time to do so! I'd go back to Lidl for some of the more specialist stuff they had, but not for the bog standard shop!

I wanted an onion, a garlic bulb, some tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, spaghetti and vege mince. The garlic and onions came in packs, which would probably get wasted here so was more expensive to buy, and the vege mince they had was quorn and was the same price as Asda. Normally I get Asdas own vege mince, which is cheaper and you get more of (and is nicer than quorn!)! So I just abandoned it and went to Asda instead!
