Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

Mines the tesco loo roll too Grin not the value, but the next cheapest i think!

We had a gorgeous day on friday, and it's not looking too bad today. :)

kbaby · 23/04/2006 13:20

My belly button isnt far off becoming an outy. Its flat and almost popping.
I feel such a wimp this pregnancy with DD I felt fine until the end but this time I feel huge and my back hurts. We went tile hunting yesterday and DD wanted to be carried everywhere and only I would do but it meant that I had her leg squashing my bump and my back killing me. DH must be fed up of hearing me moan.

Anyone have any constipation tips? Fybrogel isnt working

Hello everyone.
I haven't had a chance to check the thread for a few days, and have just been doing catch-up reading.

Jersey, what a horrible time you've had. Glad to hear that they finally worked out what was up and you and your baby are OK.

Bumpy, do you find gaviscon is woking with your heartburn/indigestion? I have been suffering with the same thing lately. I have the original flavour, and detest it. I would rather put up with the discomfort.

Sounds like this weekend and the Easter weekend were big DIY days for many of you getting nurseries in order. We are way behind schedule on ours Envy, and I am getting anxious about it, but DH doesn't seem as concerned. I know it is the nesting instinct. I am ending up trying to take control and had a hormonally based preggy tizzy-fit on Friday afternoon which coincided with me sitting on the floor sanding skirting boards feeling resentful that I was doing it and not DH. Poor DH really copped it, but has been working hard all weekend, bless him.

Chat2Ali · 23/04/2006 18:11

My belly button hasn't popped yet either, but is definately more shallow than usual,

dangirl · 23/04/2006 19:37

Evening Ladies!Smile

29 +1Smile Feeling good about that number!
We got all the baby things out of storage yesterday. Beginning to feel like it might just actually happen - this baby thing...Wink
Realised that we can practically use none of the clothes from DD as either pink or with some feminine bow or flowers on. So of to the shops soonSmile

Bumpybel - The percentile thing is a chart used to measure the weight and length of the baby. At this stage - pre birth - it is based on the scan results. They plot in the measurements and then the percentile can be read. If on the 50th perc. then the baby is medium and like 50 % of babies born. My huge LO is on the 97th perc. and as such in the top 3% of babies born.
Does that make any sense?

You can not know that you will get a long baby from the SF-length as it very much depends on the position of the baby and also your anatomy.

Hope you have all had a good w/e.
Yesterday the weather was just fantastic here in London! Really enjoyed it. Today it has been raining pretty much all day though, so our planned picnic was changed to a visit to the pool instead.

Night night all.
Smile

Hello all!
My first message so be gentle! Smile
I am expecting my first baby on 9th July!
Just wondering if anyone else has had real problems with antenatal care? I have just been told that there is no chance of me getting into any antenatal classes as they are all full and theres a waiting list until 2 weeks after my due date!! Sad
I feel this is really poor and am actually quite gutted as I'm quite new to the area and was hoping to meet other mums aswell as the valuable breathing techniques!!
There rant over
Thanx!!

maewest · 23/04/2006 20:24

Evening. Had a bit of a blue day yesterday :( but feeling much better today :) Sometimes all gets a bit overwhelming. Went to cinema with one of my girlfriends this afternoon while DH got on with glossing woodwork. Saw Tristan & Isolde, lots of swordplay, tragic lovers etc, trashy but enjoyable!

Hi Kayzed!

Spoke to Pals at the hospital who have been really useful and said I should speak to the midwife manager next week and they should provide me with 1:1 sessions (seems like a waste of time to me as I was looking froward to meeeting other mums to be and if they can provide me with a 1:1 why not just run extra groups???!!)

No antenatal type classes (aquanatal, yoga or pilates) in my town and cant travel to nearest one in time after work which is a bit of a pain!

Welcome to Jane and hi to everyone else.
11 sheets of loo roll this morning......Shock
Taking a sickie today as my back is still really sore with the old pelvic girdle pain - despite the arrival of my sexy elastic back brace. I also have chronic thrush and got prescribed a vaginal pessary. Dearie me. Those things are not easy to put in under normal circumstances but when you can't get round the bump too well and have limited stretch cos of your knackered back....
Painting a lurverly picture, eh?
DH spent the weekend building the built in wardrobe thingies for the baby's room and I have found fabric that I love. It's £23per metre though....Tell me to step away from the soft furnishings!!!!
Hope you are all having an ok day. Must dress dd and get her off to nursery so that I can loll for the rest of the day. More later, no doubt.

jersey · 24/04/2006 08:46

Morning back at work today. Thanks for the good wishes it was frightening at the time but just glad we know now and I am on the antibiotics.

Unfort. had a crap weekend as DH went off on a shouting then not talking to me fit on sat as DS interrupted his quiet half an hour on sat morning when I was drying my hair in the other room. Had a fit and then dissapeared on me most of sat, hardly speaking when he reappeared. Didn't sleep sat night as we had it all out re me having me time to go to college on a thursday (although I don't get time to do the essays, etc. at home!) and he doesn't although when I suggested he goes out one evening a week he said he didn't want to!! My college finishes in June so I guess thats the last of my me time as such! I ended up in tears most of the weekend and not resting as keeping DS occupied and out of DH way.

Sorry feel as though I am always moaning. This pregnancy seems to be a struggle to get everything done and keep the peace.

Hope everyone else is having a better time.

IamBlossom · 24/04/2006 09:29

Morning gang. 8 sheets loo roll 26 + 5 today.

Jersey, what a rotten weekend. Seems like Dh was being a tad unreasonable, I know in my house, previously sacred half an hours of uninterrupted peace whilst having a shower/drying hair/watching Match of the Day highlights/eating brekkie just don't happen anymore when DS is up and roaming....and with you being so poorly recently and stressed, sounds to me like he could bloody back off a bit, TBH. Poor you my love, big hug.

I am home today "working" but will really be on Mumsnet and waiting for garden toys delivery from Argos. Have bought DS a slide and a mini trampoline! had a lovely day in the garden on Sat in the sunshine but cos of rain yesterday went to the garden centre where they have a big aquarium, DS LOVES fish, or GITSH as he calls them.

Got a funny story from my also pregnant sister - she has been doing major preghead things recently, like taking out the home phone in her handbag thinking it's her mobile, losing her actual mobile etc. She was in London having lunch with a client on Friday, and went to the loo, went to get up and realised she had pissed thru her knickers! She couldn't see down there, and forgot to take them off!! Grin had to sit in teeny tiny cubicle and pull of knee high boots and jeans and take them off and put jeans back on! Hilarious.

I too have had a case of pregnancy dopiness - went to go online to my bank account, and tried to type in the user id which I memorised about 5 years ago and have NEVER had a problem recalling, and could I get it right? tried so many times they have booted me out and now I can't get online to bank! HOW ANNOYING!!

My belly button is most defintiely OUT!

Got my first acqua natal class tonight, first for this pregnancy anyway. From what I recall from last time it's lots of fat women bouncing up and down the pool to music, and I think I get much more actual exercise when i swim alone to be honest, but quite looking forward to it, i think it will be nice and relaxing....

Catch up with you all later, take it easy everyone.

xxx

IamBlossom · 24/04/2006 09:30

oh and Hi Jane, Welcome!

puddytat99 · 24/04/2006 11:05

Hi Jane Welcome to the group. I'm due 6 July. I too had problems trying to get antenatal classes, as second time mum, even though 12 year gap but have finally managed it. They start on Wednesday and we only get 3!!!

Jersey - Sorry that you've had a horrible weekend. Hope you have a better time this week.

My belly button isn't out yet but is getting there.

Went back to work this morning after being off for 2 weeks (the joy of working in a school). About killed me being there for 7am Shock. The floor and little ones seem to be getting further away. Felt like a Budda as everyone kept stroking my belly Grin.

Got my latest assignment/essay back and got a B, which I'm pretty proud of. Don't know how i managed it because I've got such a preggie head at the moment, the next one should be fun.

Waiting in for the plumber as we had a bit of a flood in the kitchen over the weekend (not my fault). Hopefully they'll be here soon so I can get some washing done and out in the sunshine that's supposed to be happening this afternoon.

Twirl · 24/04/2006 12:53

Puddytat - well done on essay!
Jane - welcome! I would insist on being allowed antenatal classes. Did you know you are entitled to time off from work for all types of ante-natal classes so perhaps you could leave work early to get to yoga or pilates.
Spub - indulge on the soft furnishings, you know you won't be happy with any other fabric now you have your heart set on that one Grin!

kay1981 · 24/04/2006 13:05

Hi girlies!!

Just latching onto the belly button comments, mine's an "innie", but it goes all red and then calms down after a while, but it only happens after a shower - strange!!

We were talking at work about what is the best age to first take your child abroad, flying. Just wondered what other people's experiences are and wondered is 14 months too early?

Only a 2.5 hour flight to Spain, but I do have a concern regarding its ears - DH sufferes with earache after flying, so I can't help but wonder if it would affect young ears too?

Hope everyone's well
TTFN Grin

jersey · 24/04/2006 13:13

congrats puddy on your essay. I can't remember if you have already said what you are studying? If you have apologies.

MummyZena · 24/04/2006 13:28

Jersey my DH (remove the D from that) also seems to have lost the plot this last week. We have had 2 rows which came from nowhere because I am too sensitive, oh and am always moaning about not feeling like jumping out of a plane! Pardon me for being pregnant, must admit I enjoyed it a lot more with DD but this time I just feel big and would like to meet our baby now not in another 12 weeks. I am fed up and dont like being shouted at!!! Sad

He is usually such a nice husband, must be the time of the month!!

Vegtable soup every day is the only thing that works for my constipation, not sure who asked but give it a try, I am fed up of soup but then it is better than fybergel not working for me!!! Smile

I must just say, thank you all for being there

usandbump · 24/04/2006 13:53

Hello All! Smile

I'm afraid I haven't posted for ages, we moved house and were without the net for a while and then just always seemed to be short of time. I have been catching up over the last couple of weeks though and reading through everyones highs and lows. There are so many of us July Mummies, I think it's lovely!Smile

More or less settled into the house now and started on bumps room yesterday, was getting all anxious so feel better now getting organised. Even started collecting a pile of stuff for my hospital bag which makes everything feel so real!!

I am 30 wks today!! We have our tour of the hospital next Saturday then ante-natal classes start the week after, then next lot of anti-d and have to see midwife/consultant weekly after that until the big day! All this seems to be making everything go so quickly. I go from very excited to being very scared! I'm so emotional its ridiculous, crying at things on the box, crying coz dp isn't pampering me enough, crying coz i'm tired and then sobbing coz someone told me I've put weight on my bottom!!Grin But in between all this crying I'm also feeling very happy and smiling and laughing lots. Funny things hormones its either that or I'm losing it completely.

I have put on just over a stone and am 8 loo roll sheets but have a horrid feeling I am about to expand rapidly as I can't stop eating (rubbish mainlyBlush)and my belly button has definitely popped out! I am on iron tablets which thankfully aren't affecting my a-hem Blush movements. Getting around is starting to feel awkward and now having a few aches and pains but nothing too bad feeling quite good on the whole. Oh and finally I had an increase in breast size!!! Wahoo!! I'm so proud- Grin They are now 36D from a struggling 34B, and the lady in M&S assured me they will go up another size at least before the birth!! Well there have to be some perks to this preganacy malarky doesn't there, they are nearly worth the increase in cellulite!

Listen to me going on, I disappear for ages then I come back and go on and on! Sending positive bumpy thoughts and hugs to you all Smile

Kay, we took DS to Tenerife in January, he was nine months. It was fine as well, he had a drink during take-off and landing (and lots of yoghurts and bananas in between) and he slept for some of it as well. One lady actually commented on the flight back how good he was. I don't fancy doing it now though, that he's walking, there'd be no peace. A couple of kids in front of us kept him amused for part of it too. He's been to Ireland as well a good few times, it's only an hour though. First time he was only 8 weeks I think, and just breastfed him for take-off and landing and he slept the rest! Agree with Kayzed, as long as they have something to suck or drink their ears should be ok. It's keeping them amused!!!

Jersey, hope things are better there.

Welcome Jane Smile

Started getting this really bad pain in my groin when I wake up in the morning end up walking like John Wayne for the 1st hour I get up! Anyone else had this?
