Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

Morning. Everything seems to have settled down but decided to stay off work today and rest just in case. Last thing I need is to over do things at the moment. Feel bad about taking more time off work but I guess this baby is more important than going to work at the moment.

Hope everyone else is ok and being kicked well!

Good luck with your appointment puddy and thanks for everyones thoughts.

Good news Jersey, take it easy now.

I'm off to my midwife appointment in an hour, first have to clean kitchen, do washing, get dressed (presentable to outside world), try not to wake DS...
Good luck with yours too Maewest.
Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Annie (28+1) (8 loo roll sheets)

puddytat99 · 21/04/2006 11:12

Hi Everyone

Jersey - Hope you're taking things easy today and putting your feet up, you deserve to.

Maewest and Annie - Good luck with your mw appt today.

Just got back from hospital and feel so much better. Had a good chat with doc about having 'Blob' in hospital (horrible experience with DS) and she was great. We've agreed if I can keep going as I have (blood pressure, weight gain, etc) then I can move over to mw led rather than consultant led care. I don't have to go back until 39 weeks Grin. Though she did say she would prefer me to have a hosptal birth rather than a home one due to complications with DS. So I've agreed to this and feel so much better. One thing less to stress over!!!!

Just got to try and sort out some antenatal classes with community mw, then I should be sorted. (rang and left a message to be told she's on annual leave at the moment) I've only seen her once and I'm 29+.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and we manage to get some sunshine. Will let you know how things go with MIL tomorrow. Take care of yourselves.

Hi everyone - stupid question coming..

If I express milk while breastfeeding, so we can go out for the day, does it have to be warmed up? If so, how and does it have to be warm, do babies drink cold milk?

Told you it was stupid!!!

Bonjour ladies!

Just back from French France and have been getting up to date on all your posts. France was great but I really felt a long way from home - that's never happened before - maybe the nesting hormones? God knows what I'd have been like if I'd have gone to Oz like kayzed!!

Sorry to hear of your drama jersey - I can relate to that panic feeling as I had a similar morning in France, but then it went away thank God. We're all thinking of you xxx

Kay1981 - I didn't warm up my expressed milk last time (though wouldn't take it straight from fridge - just room temperature). It's more a matter of taste than necessity - getting baby to take it IYSWIM.

And for those of you worried about big babies - someone told me when I was pg with dd that the weight of the baby doesn't make much difference with the birth - it's the circumference of the head that's the really hurty bit, and the rest is a doddle. Made me feel better anyway Grin

Annie29 · 21/04/2006 16:48

Hi Ladies

Appointment went fine, BP was high (panic!!) but she did it again at the end and it was normal (Phew!). Seems I've lost weight though, I was 61 kg in Feb, now I'm only 60 kg. Oops best get eating more chocolate and doughnuts...Must be all the chasing after DS now that he's walking.

Straightforward I hope you enjoyed your break, despite the nesting!!
Puddytat, glad your mind is at ease now, and you get your home birth.
Maewest how did your appointment go?
Jersey, still resting? good girl.

Has anyone else's belly button popped out yet? Mine has, never did last time though, till right at the end...

Back again!

Ended up going into hospital late morning as got achy again. Turns out I have a water infection and have antibiotics to take, which was triggering the contractions, etc.. But I haven't dilated and my waters haven't gone. Thank god! It was a relief.

Evening, had a lovely day today, off work and determined not to do any housework. Had mw appt this morning, everything fine although bub was wriggling about a bit so difficult to find the heartbeat. Also my blood pressure seems to be actually dropping at each appt - is this normal? Was told about antenatal classes, but I can only make 2 out of 4 of them, good job we've booked to do NCT as well, so DH can come along.

Met an old friend for lunch, he just became a dad for the first time last year at the age of 50 and is loving it. Nice to hear something positive about kids for a change :). After lunch went and wandered about the markets, found a great second hand stall and bought a book called "The Newborn Baby" which was prob older than me for 50p - funny to see how times have changed. For example, a baby should never travel in the front seat, instead they should sit on someones lap in the back or go in a carrycot Shock. Also hardly any mention of dads in the book :( apart from cutting toenails!

Wallace · 21/04/2006 20:41

Thank goodness for that jersey :)

I didn't know that you didn't have to heat up expressed milk. I am planning to express as well this time round.

My belly button hasn't popped out, but it didn't at all with the other two.

kbaby · 21/04/2006 20:43

deblaca - I dont blame you for moving out a bit. Theres only so much dust and tripping over things you can take.
My hope of spending the weekend filling all my kitchen cupboards and finally doing a load of washing have been dashed because the bl**dy electrician hasnt done connected the electric. So now I have a kitchen but cant use it.
Jersey - Im glad theyve found out what was causing them. Take it easy.

Im 8.5 sheets now. My bump seems really pointy and its funny to watch it get even pointier if I use my tummy muscles to get off the settee.
IamBlossom - I finished work at 33 weeks with DD and it is pure heaven. All those afternoons laying in the sun with a good book. Enjoy them.

xxx 26 weeks today

maewest · 22/04/2006 08:18

kbaby - know what you mean about kitchens. We did ours last summer and although I could cook outside, there's only so many barbecues you can do! Also DH was doing all the work himself (me passing screws etc) so didn't feel I could nag too much. We still have a few things on our snagging list to sort out!

Oh, and my belly button is getting less shallow and appears to be on the way to popping out but hasn't yet.

HumphreysCorner · 22/04/2006 10:39

Morning ladies

30 weeks today !

Must get that bag packed!

Going to get some ceiling paper for the nursery and check out beds for DD.

Hope you all have a lovely day and don't do too much. Are you listening jersey ????????

Byee for now

xxx

bumpybel · 22/04/2006 16:37

Afternoon ladies... havent been on for a week and there's soooo much to catch up on. HC I cant wait to get to 30 weeks too! Things have really started to feel heavier and harder to do lately. And sleeping is a bloody nightmare!!! I must sound like an elderly grandmother heaving myself in and out of bed!

Kbaby my tummy is quite pointy too. People keep telling me its the sign of a girl, because I'm all out front. It's like a netball!... A netball with enlarged hips and tree trunk thighs!
All you skinny minnies who have put on a stone etc... I have officially topped two stone now... and feel enormous. Cant wait to have this baby and be able to start exercising properly agasin. Ireally miss not being able to run and sweat like buggery!

Jersey... glad to hear they've found out what was causing your contractions.. you must have been quite frightened. Hope its put your mind at rest. Smile

Has anyone else had a really burny sensation at the very tip of their tummy, below the bra line, in the middle. Mine feels very tender and like i've been punched. The midwife says it could be heart burn related as i've had loads of that, but it feels so bruised. I'mwondering if its because the baby has been lying in breech position for the last couple of times, making everything stretch northwards.

Also.. what is this percentile thing? I can see it on my notes. I know I'm having a long baby as my tummy is measuring long, but where do i look to see what percentile it is and what does it mean?

Off to stretch and swig gaviscon! xxx

Wallace · 22/04/2006 18:42

I think 30 weeks is when you really start to feel that it is getting close! I'm only 26, but that is a milestone too :)

I get very achey up at almost my braline when I have eatewn - I feel very full.

My bump is huge and sort of out the sides. Had to rush off and do loo roll test - still only 7.5 Shock I think the difference is that I am prob 7.5 from the top to the bottom of the bump IYSWIM!

Just wanted to say a quick hello and to thank all of you lovely ladies who suggested H&M for trousers. Managed to get there today and was spoilt for choice! Have now got 2 pairs of fab bottoms with lovely comfy jersey waists that should easily see me through the next 11 weeks. Have just measured bump and I am shocked to admit that I am a whopping 10 sheets Shock. Think (or hope) that the cheap Tesco toilet roll is smaller than previous rolls....obviously I am going knowhere near the scales to weight myself thank you very much!
