Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

Morning girls

Re the maternity wear I bought some stuff from H&M a couple of months back and they fit really well. I find the under bump trousers need hitching up all the time and really anoy me.

I am waiting until after this baby comes before trying to potty train DS as he will be 2 when this one arrives. But, will see how it goes then. I think it might be easier to nappy change 2 than trying to get one to the potty/toilet when sorting out a newborn as well. Esp. when we go out!

Hope you all had a good weekend, we got the boys bedroom decorated in blue and green yesterday. Just got the wardrobe doors to do and need new curtains as our old ones don't look right now.

Welcome to mumtotoby. Hope everyone else is doing alright.

kay1981 · 18/04/2006 09:53

Thanks Kayzed, seems a bit drastic but I'll try to give it a go.

I've bought all my maternity clothes from Dorothy Perkins, had them for about 6 weeks now and they're really comfortable, especially the black trousers, they have buttons inside, so you can tighten (not much chance of that!!) or loosen them depending on your size, only £15 too!!

Bought some jeans and combat trousers things too, seem to be buying more for me than baby at the moment, but like lots of you, spent Easter decorating, well DH did, but I'm sure we'll get there.

Hope everyone's well

kbaby · 18/04/2006 14:21

lilianna - You sound as if you have your hands full.
Kayzed- Im planning a shopping spree after pay day. We go on hols in 2 weeks and I need to find some shorts and cheap vests etc. Ill take a look at h&m and dorothy perkins.

Horray, my kitchen fitters are here. We spent all weekend painting the kitchen even though the builders have some stuff to finish. We wanted it painted before today. So far mind the kitchen fitters arived at 9.30 put legs on 3 units that were already built and then disapered for a 2 hr lunch! No wonder they said it will take a week. Never mind at least ill have a sink and a washing machine and a half decent house for all of a week before we have to rip all the carpets up and move the furniture into the kitchen to make way for the wood floor to go down. Ive been hormonal all weekend and have cried 4 times over various things.

Weve decided to hold back on potty training DD. she tells you when shes going and then a minute later she makes you change her nappy but she will not sit on a potty or toilet seat so its almost impossible.

Dangirl - I want those jeans - would like the skinny ones but may look a bit like tweedledum - and not sure how i'd get on with under bump! I've been living in my maternity wardrobe from top shop and hennes for what feels like months now.
kbaby i can hear your relief - a kitchen what a luxury! I've had to move out, as it was all getting too much, effectively camping out in one room (and totally sick of microwave food).

Had my 28week growth scan today and everything was great - fantastic to 'see' my GORGEOUS baby again, he's going to be a stunning baby!!!
hope you're all well

puddytat99 · 18/04/2006 16:23

Hi Everyone

Hope that you all had a great Easter. Seems like most of us were decorating!!!!

Welcome to Mummyto toby. I'm due the day before you but don't know what I'm having.

Most of my clothes I've got from either H&M or Dorothy Perkins. I can't stand under the bump trousers, not comfy at all. think it's because 'Blob' likes to lie down there. Have had trouble with tops to fit my boobs in. Hope they don't get any bigger as I'll have nothing to wear Blush

As for MIL mine rang last night and asked how I was Shock First time since getting pg!!! She is coming to visit in a couple of weeks time as she wants to buy the cot. My stepdad wanted to do that, so stuck in the middle. Suppose we'd better let her do it as at long last she is showing an interest and my stepdad is pretty cool and he'd give us less grief than she would!!!

Hope you're all feeling good today. Seemed to take me hours to wake up today, just felt so tired. Did have an old lady tell me that she was about my size when she had her twins!!!!!! So feel really good about myself Wink. I wouldn't mind I'm only 8.5 loo roll sheets. When I tell people that, they think I'm totally crazy Grin

HumphreysCorner · 18/04/2006 18:18

kayzed-each time I did Saturday and Sunday all day but was tearing my hair out by Sunday night. When she finally got the hang of it one weekend I asked nursery to carry it on when she went Monday am then my mum did the same in the afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday were a disaster but when I picked her up from nursery on Thursday pm she really seemed to have cracked it. Nursery had tried several months before without asking me (I didn't mind) but gave it up. I did find it all v. stressful but then I am the most impatient person in the world! Also, DD was so determined not to use the toilet that it made me determined that she would use it and not have her own way so I persevered with it on the last attempt.

Evening all - DH is up in the baby's room painting at the mo, so will have to stir myself and cook something nice (I suppose I could cook something nasty, but that hardly seems fair Smile). I've been in mat clothes for ages, even tho I'm not that big yet, mainly because all my pre-preg clothes are fairly fitted (to be honest I don't think I owned anything with an elasticated waist). Bought another pair of tracky bottoms today in Debenhams sale. DH says I look like a chav in them Shock

HumphreysCorner · 18/04/2006 18:37

Evening all

Still 9.5 sheets-she is growing up to my boobs instead of outwards. Saw a picture of Katie Holmes(Tom Cruise's girlfriend) in a magazine and she must have been 20 sheets as her bump stuck out like a table-you could rest a dinner plate on there.

Leave work 6 weeks today!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

maewest-my MIL doesn't 'do' work and never has but thinks I should and couldn't understand why my mum wanted to retire!?!?!?! On the subject of 'doing' she doesn't do grass cutting either but thinks it is perfectly OK that I should do it-I don't mind as DH tends to not do a good job of it. If FIL is away she rings DH up to go round and cut her grass which makes me v. Angry-lazy cow. Her mother does her ironing at 98. Oh I could go on! Perhaps I am luckier in the fact that because MIL only lives 5 mins away there is absolutely no reason for her to be here overnight.

Anyway-must get off the subject. Did start writing a book on her (name changed of course) but BIL deleted the file by mistake so 1000's of words lost.

Off to get some tea ready so love to all and byee for now.

((xx))

jom · 18/04/2006 21:05

I have a pair of mat jeans from Next that used to drive me mad as I was constantly hitching them up until I used a belt and haven't looked back! I also got some cargos from there which are fine because they have a belt too!

DS took one week to toilet train, in which I stayed home most of the time to try and make it as easy as poss. He still had the odd accident afterwards but was 90% there. The first couple of days were hard and seemed to go on for ever. I used stickers for wees and kinder 'happy hippos' (his absolute faves) for poos and this worked well and really only needed to do it for about a week. I'd say try and be as relaxed as poss about it all (not always easy) and only attempt it if you think they're ready. He's still in a nappy of a night - haven't even attempted that one yet! Good luck to all who are going through it. Smile

HumphreysCorner · 18/04/2006 21:54

Oh yes, stickers and choccy are a must for toilet training!

Morning can I ask a question, sorry if TMI Blush.

Yesterday at work I had a lot of pressure from the baby and last night although pressure had gone by then had sex and all last night was cramping like period pains. Baby was kicking as well. Is this normal? Seems to had calmed down this morning although knackered from lack of sleep. Was worried we might have started off very early labour as DS labour started with period pains when induced.

Thanks

jersey-I wouldn't worry as this happens to me. I have got to the stage where I am abstaining as it is not worth the discomfort afterwards. DH is getting desperate-lol! It is only around your due date that sex is suggested to try and bring on labour.

jersey · 19/04/2006 08:37

Thanks HC and kayzed, don't think it was needing the loo as had just been. Twinging a bit still now. Will see how it goes today before ringing mw don't want to make a fuss if its nothing.

Twirl · 19/04/2006 08:47

Jersey, it hasn't happened to me but have heard of this happening to others, like HC said, you may want to abstain and use the time to get some much needed sleep instead. Lol at the idea of a book about your MIL HC! I think if I wrote one people would think it was pure fiction and wouldn't believe a word of it Grin. Dangirl I am very Envy of your jeans - I want a pair! I have found that Next t-shirts are quite roomy for the big-busted if that helps anyone....
Anyway, off to the hospital now for a physio session for my spd. Have a good day all. x

IamBlossom · 19/04/2006 09:48

'Lo everyone. Been reading al your bloomin' posts, you have been a busy lot!

I am thinking about potty training in the Summer, although DS will only be 20ish months and will have the new one so it might al be a bit much. But he pulls at his napppy when he has done a poo, and can say wee wee and poo poo and seems to know what's going on in the loo, so I don't want to miss the moment....whole thing seems a bit of a trauma to be honest....

I have confirmed with work that i am leaving end of May HIP HIP HOORAY! Do feel a bit of a fraud when i am not due till the end of July, and so many of you lot are slogging on till the end, especially as i am going to keep DS in nursery for the afternoons for all of that time. Oh well, I shall be making the most of it, all welcome chez Blossom for episodes of 24 and slobbing on the sofa! Grin My sister is very Envy as she is due 5 days after me and working till the end of June...

Had such a lovely Easter weekend, went to see DH's family in Salisbury and had an egg hunt and made easter bonnets (badly) DS had an absolute ball, as he always does down there, playing with his cousins and eating and drinking all the things I don't let him at home. Such as Coco Pops - he couldn't beleive it! You mean there is chocolate cereal in the world mummy? Why have I been raised on unsweetened weetabix and shreddies then?

I am struggling on with my maternity jeans from Mothercare because I refuse to buy any more but they are very annoyingly neither under or over the bump but sit somewhere in the middle so the bigger I get the more they slip down, VERY irritating. Luckily I can slob in trackers most of the time, and have a supremely comfy pair of Topshop maternity combats that sit under the bump with a belt.

Does anyone else wake up with a crusty mouth, gammy eyes and blocked nose? Every morning? And I am postively waddling now, and my bottom is expanding dramatically, i have gained 20 pounds now....

have a good day everyone

Love Bloss

xx

MummyZena · 19/04/2006 12:58

Kbaby my DD is the same she does not like the potty however has to hold your finger when she does a Poo, she gets very constipated and therefore it is difficult enough without upsetting her about sitting on her potty. Not pushing it at the moment will try before Baby arrives I think.

Am feeling very tiered, very big and would like to take a break from everything at moment, I am sure I will feel better tomorrow.

Take care all

jersey · 19/04/2006 13:18

Hi, spoken to my midwife and she thinks it was my body practising for labour and if it happens again to see if it becomes more regular to ring the hospital and tell them I am only 27 weeks.

She miss heard me at first and thought I said 37 weeks. When I said 27 weeks, I got not so good!!!!

deblaca · 19/04/2006 13:57

hope you feel more relieved now jersey - hope you're feeling better soon

Afternoon ladiesSmile

Been to have growth scan today. BIG baby - on the 97th percentile!!Shock
Will go for sugar test tomorrow to check for gestational diabetes. Feel like I am at that hospital on a daily basis.
Had a really vague Doctor today who could not explain any reasons behind her decisions which annoys me big time.

Hope everyone are well.

Hugs,
dangirl

IamBlossom · 19/04/2006 18:58

hey Kayzed, thanks for that. I can imagine how knackering looking after him full time must be, I am not going to know what has hit me when I have him plus new one at home on my own all the time. I am very used to him going to nursery and pottering around the house on my own "working". Just this afternoon, as i was sat in my immaculate newly decorated dining room with a cup of tea and a book looking around me at it all tidy i was thinkin this just ain't going to happen in 3 months time, say good bye to order and neatness - say goodbye to being dressed and reading a book for a start!!

Oh well, we shall have to see. Doesn't stop me wanting to finish work desparately, can't wait never having to do a sales forecast ever again........

and yes i too am knackered.

I was going to go to the gym this afternoon after eating a Toblerone and thinking I must burn off some cals and strech my legs a bit - then DH rang and had sliced his hand open at work on a stanley knife! OOOOCH! So off we went to Casualty. Oh well, I'll go swimming tomorrow.

Just had a right laugh with DS in the bath, 19 months and he is obsessed with my spare pair of swimming goggles, so we put them on him and got a couple of hilarious photos, I hope he is always this cute.

xx

puddytat99 · 19/04/2006 20:52

Hi everyone

Kayzed - feeling knackered and irritable too. My DS is getting most of it too, bless him. At least he's 11 and can hide in his room from me.

Jersey - Glad to hear things seem to have quietened down for you. Last night I had stomach and back pain, but found sitting on a gym ball helped to ease it. Think mine was a mixture of IBS and Braxtons. Loads of fun Wink.

MIL's just rang to say she's coming down this weekend instead of in 2 weeks time and we're mid way through decorating. Guess I know what I'm doing for my last 2 days off.

maewest · 19/04/2006 20:55

blossom - don't feel guilty about finishing work early, I would if I could! I'm finishing 4 weeks before my due date and have informed DH that I intend to spend most of the time lolling about in the garden and reading/staring into space.
