woohoo a new thread! I'm still packing for holiday. I've sent ds off with daddy to his wee gym class. He's all excited that dad's taking him today. Plan is to spin past Tesco after that and stock up with lovley holdiay food (we're self catering) and then we're off.

Bella - hope work's OK today and your boss reacts nicely to your news.

Mabel - hugs to your wee man. really hope he's better soon and that the test today goes well.

I'll catch up in a week (bet it takes me forever to read all your news!).

Lysettes · 20/03/2006 11:25

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had good weekends - mine was great, but way too short! Boss has turned into a petulant child and making me feel so stressed I cried in the loos this morning. great start to the week Sad.

Appy - that's brilliant on your scan, I'm so envious but have a clinic appt this week so hopefully I'll get to hear heartbeat as well. Am paranoid everything isn't growing properly as it's been so long since my last scan.

For everyone with prickly skin - it's apparently caused by higher levels of oestregen (sp) - and really common where you don't have any fat so hands, shins etc (i scrateched my shins so hard they were bleeding [sorry tmi!])

Bella - good luck with your boss Smile

thinking about dh/dp's - my dh has started telling everyone how vicious and mean i've got, and thinks it's a huge joke - just makes me sad to think that people might really think that!

Sorry, just very hormonal crying kind of mood today - still i guess it's a change from vicious and mean Grin

Sorry post is so long too!

Coriander73 · 20/03/2006 12:20

Hi all,

Midwife came over this morning to take my 14 week bloods & to do a general check up. Listened to the heartbeat for the first time which was cool although she couldn't find it for ages. I told her that it had to be in there still as the nausea is still with me :o

mabel1973 · 20/03/2006 12:47

tassis have a great holiday am Envy

Marls any news on your scan results this morning?

benjaminsmum · 20/03/2006 13:04

Hi
Tassis - have a great holiday.
Marls - hope news on results where good.
Mabel - poem on toddlers very true!

I am having a very hard time sleeping at the moment as I keep having awful dreams about heartbeat check on Wednesday as it is the day mc baby would have been due. In one dream my ds also died on Wed. As result not having much sleep and worring myself silly although I am sure I can feel the baby move and i am definately getting bigger. Can't wait for it to be over.

Now 16 weeks and only four weeks till next scan when hopefully we will know what we are having which is very exciting.

I explained to my ds, aged two, the other day that he will be a big brother when the baby arrived and that the baby can hear him now so he can talk to it. It is so cute as he keeps shouting at my tummy, "hello big brother baby" and giving it cuddles although he thinks it is going to be called 'sleepy Jesus' after his Christmas book!

Anyway sorry about the length of this and talk to you all soon.

pol25 · 20/03/2006 14:28

Hey everyone!

Feeling v.weepy too. Cried this morning because DP left for work without coming and saying goodbye... My word, what am I coming too!
I have an app for 16 weeks at hospital and not sure why... although maybe just a check because won't see midwife til 25 weeks... anyone else have this???
Lysettes - I have really itchy hands and legs too! Driving me crazy, just keep scartching them until they are red raw. Tried putting some cooling moiusturizer on but just made it worse!
benjaminsmum- awww how sweet you're having a 'sleepy jesus'!!!

mabel1973 · 20/03/2006 15:45

Hi All

Just a quicky to let you know i heard the heartbeat at my 16 week check this afternoon - good and strong and a few icks as well. I am very relieved that all seems well - roll on the 20 week scan now!

Pol I would assume your 16 week check is for bloods for the triple test - which Is what I've had today, testing for spina bifida and downs - unless you've already had that? If not it should have been explained to you because you don't have to have it.

Benjaminsmum - that is so sweet!! I haven't really explained to my DS as he is too young to understand. Nearer the time we might have to get a few 'new baby' books from the library!

Lysettes · 20/03/2006 15:54

Pol - agree with mabel - it's probably your triple test, although i'm at the hospital every week at the moment for one reason or another which is great but a bit of a hassle as it's quite far away..

sounds really silly but i think it's palms or ponds or a brand like that but they do one of those soothing oils with cocoa butter etc in. I've heard that stretch marks are largely hereditary so the oil doesn't stop them, but this one is about a fiver and is great for stopping the itching. either that or very attractive calamine lotion Grin

hope everyone else well - managed to get through 4 hours now without crying for some reason - best not turn on the tv tonight though Blush

Lysettes · 20/03/2006 15:55

mabel - great news about the heartbeat too!

Marls001 · 20/03/2006 16:31

Mabel - Yay! So glad that went well.

Having some good news of my own - was waiting for the darn call this morning on the quad test - it's a 1 in 10,000 chance of Down's! Can't get much better than that. Big sigh of relief. Many difficult conversations with DH avoided. Healthy baby - now on to the next big thing, knowing the gender, in 4 weeks! Don't really care if it's boy/girl - I'll either be queen of my castle, or having fun attending mother/daughter teas and style shows.

Benjaminsmum - your DS sounds so sweet! Ours at this point is oblivious ... many changes to his world coming.

Lysettes - Angry with boss ... hope he/she gets fairer & wiser.

Bella - Good luck with yours - hoping all goes well.

Woodelf · 20/03/2006 17:31

Lysettes, Thanks for the info about prickly skin - seems we're forever learning something new! Hope you feel happier soon in spite of boss/dh!

Mabel, glad you have heard the heartbeat so soon.My mw at the appt today said 14w too soon to hear it.. hmmph. Will see it on weds scan anyway so yar boo sucks etc...

Congrats marls - bet you're v chuffed Smile

compo · 20/03/2006 18:27

excellent news Mabel Smile and everyone else getting test results etc. It will be interesting to see if I get to hear the heartbeat on Thuirsday as I'll be 14+6!!

Morning ladies.

marls - fab news, nie relief after having to wait and see what they were going to say.

Review went well with my boss, she was really nice about the whole thing.

Midwife coming round today for first time, hope she is nice as have heard they can be a bit nuts! I think I have to get some blood taken, mmmmm am a bit of a baby on that front but guess there is worse to come so better get over the fear!

Will let you know how it goes later.

felling very chirpy this mornning....Grin

Bella23 · 21/03/2006 09:04

Well this morning's mini adventure is over as midwife has had to cancel, shame as was really looking forward to it. Never mind hopefully she can come tomorrow

compo · 21/03/2006 09:57

Oh no Bella - that's a bit of an anit-climax!! Perhaps there are lots of babies being born today in your neck of the woods!!

OP posts:
mabel1973 · 21/03/2006 10:05

morning everyone!

Great news Marls - hope I get similar odds.
Bella - lucky you to have an understanding boss - makes life so much less stressful. let us know tommrow how it goes with the midwife!

It is snowing here - again!!! When is it going to warm up??

Normsnockers · 21/03/2006 10:55

Have had chat this morning with ds about the baby in mummy's tummy and what we should name it.

He said we should call it "scruffy".

Where on earth did that come from ?

Have been a bit sick again lately but I've just overdone things physically and paid the price.

Tiem is dragging whilst I'm waiting for my next scan in early April for some reassurance that bub is still well in there.

HellKat · 21/03/2006 17:29

Hi all.
Love the new thread!
Cori,Mabel- Great news on hearing the heartbeats girls!
Marls- Wonderful news about the odds. Lets hope we all get as lucky.
Bens- I'm everything will be ok hun. I've been past the day when the last baby died and that was tough. Will be thinking of you Wednesday.
Tassis- Have a great holiday.
Hi everyone else, hope everyone's feeling ok.

puppy · 21/03/2006 20:08

Great thread title!!

benjaminsmum will thinking about you tomorrow, keep strong everything will be ok. hugs to you.
tassis hope you enjoy your hol.
Marls thats great odds hun congratulations
norms awww and lol at your ds
Homemama you ok?

Sorry if i have missed anybody out, hope you are all well.

Has anybody been suffering from stitch like pains. today i had a sharp pain like stitch from my belly button all the way down lasted about a min or two, then 30mins later felt a funny crunch type feeling and ever since been aching on and off. LO probably on a nerve or something lol.

Definately showing now, had one or two comment and was asked if i was pregnant Grin

Angeliz · 21/03/2006 20:17

puppy i get wired pains like that. always worrying but nothing really i think, as long as they don't persist.

tassis, ahve a lovely timeSmile

benjaminsmummy, i hope it all goes well for tomorrow and really feel for youSad. I'm sure it will all be fine++

I am a little worried as i'm not really feeling movements. I mean, i am like little flutters and stuff, but i felt dd2 WEEKS before this and i'm 17 weeks now so i feel like i should be getting difinate moves.
Have second midwife app on Thursday so hopefully i'll get to hear the heartbeat and be reassured. I think my scan is about 22 weeks so i have a longer wait to find out the sex. I'd love another girl but i think that you kind of stick to what you know.
I'll be a little wary if it's a boy! Not dissapointed, just vaguely terrified!Grin

Hope everyone else is well+

Marls001 · 22/03/2006 02:29

Norms - "scruffy" Grin - that's great!! I LOVE how they come up with those things.

Benjaminsmum - thinking about you & hoping heartbeat check goes very well.

You too Woodelf - hope the scan goes well.

Less out of breath!!
Still slogging through workouts, but it's not quite so hard anymore. Then I come home and eat malted milk balls by the carton ... ah, well.

HellKat · 22/03/2006 08:09

Morning all.
Bens- Good luck today!

Not feeling definite kicks yet b ut feeling more flutterings and mini somersaults. Wish I'd start to "glow" lol. Only thing that's glowing are the huge zits round my mouth urrgghhhhh!!!!

How's everyone on this gorgeous sunny day?

I got my next mw appt tomorrow! Can't believe that's come around so quickly.

Bella23 · 22/03/2006 09:05

Morning ladies.

Oh dear all this talk of feeling movement, I really don't think I can feel anything! This is my first though so its probably too early right???

Hellkat - so you are nearly at your second mw appointment, I haven't even had one yet!!
Hopefully lady will come today but not holding my breath.

Yes also eagerly awaiting the "glow" - hope I don't bypass this stage!!

Well hope everyone has a lovely day

HellKat · 22/03/2006 09:19

I felt ds1 when i was about 17/18 wks. Ds2 I felt around 15 wks.
I'm still waiting on the full on kicks lol
I keep getting this weird pain. For all you gals that have been pg before, only way to describe it is you know when you're heavily pg and the babba has'nt got much room? Well when it gets itself turned around and you know the unmistakable ache/pain you get when they get their foot trapped under you ribs? That's what I've had for days but only when I'm sat sit. Weird huh? Obviously it's not babba (way too diddy) so maybe muscles being stretched to bits? Lol Grin

puppy · 22/03/2006 09:40

Morning

Hellkat i know the pain your describing i get that also along with the stitch etc lol.

Wondering whether to take ds to see nurse practioner today, for the last week hes been waking up with wax in he entrance to his ear canal, thick yellow quite a bit sorry if tmi. He had perforated ears less than 12 months ago and was in alot of pain. prob best to.

Thinking of you benmum.

Think i can feel movement but at only 14+3 2nd pg mmmmmm?
