Sorry forgot the all important stats... pregnancy brain!!!
I'm due 7 Sept but will go 2 weeks overdue, as this is baby 4 and the previous 3 have been 11, 11 and 14 days overdue respectively. DD1 is 5.3, DD2 is 3.5 amd DS1 is 11 months. I'm nearly 35 and DH is 36, we live in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales in Australia, we are both Aussies but were living in the UK from 2001 until Jan 2005.... ummmm not sure what else to add in terms of stats... if I've forgotten anything just ask...

Angeliz · 28/03/2006 14:10

Hi all .
MabelSad hope your ears get better soon.
xoz, i remember you, you're OXO! (iirc there was a thread about what we immediately think of mumsnetters names and you were oxoGrin Welcome.

Thanks for all kind thoughts for dd2. She STILL has the rash. Slept away the weekend and lots of calpol and lukewarm baths to cool her down. Her fever seems to have gone but the rash is lingering. I'm sure he's right and it's viral but my main concern atm is, if it is actually measles or rubella, then she's due her jabs soonish (will be giving singles again)so i don't know if she should if she's had the disease. Anyway.
Someone at a kids Party last week made me think of something in the future. If my baby is born on it's due date 31st August (and mine usually come bang on time) then it will DEFINATELY be the youngest in the classSad If it's even a few hours late, it could be the oldest!! I think i'd prefer it to be the oldest! So i'm keeping my legs shut on 31st Ausust and it's not getting out!!Grin
calvemJoeSad i actually had one of those conversations well in advance so dp wouldn't forget. Infact i said' i want a lovely handmade Mother's Day card and something dd has picked, nothing else. Hope he remember soon and makes up!
Hope all are well!

p.s, my boobs are always itchy, am sure i look like Les Dawson half the time!

compo · 28/03/2006 18:26

welcome to xoz - I'm the youngest of four and whenever I worry about how i'm going to cope with 2 I remember my mum coped with 4 - and for a while with 3 under 5 Shock
Angeliz - sorry to hear about dd being so ill, fingers crossed she gets better soon. My sister was born 22nd August and I thonk suffered a bit from being youngest in the class so definitely keep your legs crossed Grin Having said that though my best friend was a July baby and went to Oxford uni so maybe it's all a load of bunkum Grin

Welcome xoz! Calvin, Sad; DH remembers those days even when I don't & sure I would be getting my feelings hurt if he did forget. You should remind him again!! Being a mum is a difficult job. We deserve recognition & gifts!

Good luck to tests coming back. From experience y'all will feel VERY relieved when you get them. And they will probably all be fine. Smile It's hard not to feel anxious though; believe me I know.

Lysettes & Hellkat - what are you taking for the itching? Any remedies you've found? When I remember, I take Benadryl, but don't want to be taking it every night ...

Very proud - Was in a style show this morning - I modeled a swimsuit! Well, the \link{http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=12882&pid=345180\top of a swimsuit}, and some shorts. I feel better about my midsection when I'm pregnant than otherwise - it's usually my "problem area." Now I have an excuse! It was a lot of fun being able to show off the bump.

compo · 28/03/2006 20:13

Is anyone else still feeling really nauseous? It seems to hit me in the evenings - was watching You Are What You Eat but felt too sick looking at all the food etc. Really sick of feeling like this because it's been going on for so long Sad

OP posts:
Coriander73 · 29/03/2006 04:40

Hi Compo,

I'm still nauseus in the evening although it's getting better. Totally relate to what you say ahout you are what you eat! Everytime it's come on I've had to change the chanel as it's makes me want to throw up looking at the amount of bad food lying on the table!!!!

Spoke to midwife who says my results showed 1 in 3200!! Quite amazed as with DD, as I've said, it was 1 in 300. The only think that came back was that my platlets are very low - i.e my blood isn't cloting to their specification. I have to go back next week for further bloods etc...she did nothing to worry about but makes me think that (perhaps unnecessarily) that if I ended up with a an emergency section again would I have the same problems? (womb didn't contract & lost large amount of blood etc)...

Off to Malaga for the day..hence the early start....feel very queasy sitting here...& bloody tired :o

Lysettes · 29/03/2006 09:41

Cori those results are great! and at least you know the only area that may/may not be of any concern in the future.

I'm feeling sick again (after ages of no sickness), but only in the evenings when I'm really tired. Also I'm not sure if I'm harbouring one of those bugs that's going around, that I'm not actually getting sick from...

marls - I'm using the palmers cocoa butter oil spray for dry itchy skin. it's great except when i'm itchy at work! Smile

waiting now for my triple test results - fingers crossed

have a great day everyone!
xxx

Lysettes · 29/03/2006 14:04

in case anyone is starting to look at making purchases, I've jsut been looking on mn at the shopping partners' sites, and there are quite a few products (the new born bath support for instance) that are cheaper on blooming marvellous site (not even including the discount!) than on other sites...

tassis · 29/03/2006 17:51

Hi everyone, we got back from holiday on Monday but the last couple of days have been a bit manic! Nice to finally get round to catching up.

We had a fantastic break. Very restful and spoiling. We stayed in a chalet in a hotel complex so could use all the hotel facilites. Ds went to the kid's club each morning and had a blast (while I sat around and read the paper from cover to cover and serveral books!). He came home for a snooze then we went swimming in the afternoon. Did the same every day!! It was lovely!

I've just read the past 10 days chat and I'm jealous of all the talk of new prams as there's no way I need anything new in that department. May buy ds a buggy board as several of his friends have them and he wants one, but really at 3.5 I think he'll not need one.

Anyone found any lovely maternity clothes?

Anyone want to talk cloth nappies?

Mabel - hope you have a good rest at your mums and the new bathroom's lovely!

Welcome xoz!

calvemjoe · 29/03/2006 20:35

Tassis, I've been to next, Dorothy perkins, top shop, h & m and asda trying on clothes and have found nothing, also tried 2 mail order cats. Then nipped into mothercare today and got 2 divinely comfortable tops and 2 pairs of trousers. Always hated mothercare with my last pg, but must say, I was impressed!

tassis · 29/03/2006 20:46

That's intersting cal, like you I didn't like mothercare stuff at all last pregnancy and got nothing there, so haven't even looked this time. Must go!

Part of my problem is that I'm almost 6 foot. Amazingly I'm OK for bottom halfs at the moment and have my eye on linen trousers in next when the weather gets warmer. It's tops that are bugging me. Lots of the mat ones (esp in cheaper places) are just so short.

Have BILs wedding when I'm 30ish weeks so will really need something dressy. really don't want to spend a fortune on something I might not wear again...

Marls001 · 29/03/2006 21:09

Re: clothes - I'm 5'3"; shopping at "Juniors" stores with all the teens so I'm not paying as much. Have been wearing very low-rise pants with long tank tops so far; lucky those are "in" right now. Will be getting maternity khakis at The Gap (do you have The Gap in UK?) and some collar knit shirts at Target - planning on having them monogrammed; adds a little something for my boredom with maternity clothes.

Thanks Lysettes for the info! HAVE to get some of that stuff.

Count me in on still feeling somewhat sick at night (unfortunately).

A bit hormonal last night b/c DH wasn't home until 7 pm (last week of the quarter = busy time). My 2.5 yr old DS seems to have a "witching hour" between 5 and 6:30 pm every day - he's hyper and difficult then. By 6:30 he's better - but by then I'm so tired can't WAIT for DH to get in - an extra 30 minutes at this time is like the last 30 minutes of sleep before waking, or something - every minute counts! Of course he understands, I understand, etc. & he'll be calling me if he expects to be late in the future but can't WAIT for this week to end. Anyone else's child have late afternoon hyperactivity?!

calvemjoe · 29/03/2006 21:20

Tassis, the tops I got are hidden support vest tops and they're really long and nice with plenty of growing room. Bra's make my skin itch at the mo so needed something comfortable but supporting. I also have my eye on the linen trousers from next!

Marls, I have a hyper 2 yr old in the late afternoon too and my dh was late home last night aswell. That along with no mothers day pressie (so obviously I'm a cr*p mum) had me sobbing through the bedtime story. Ds didn't know what to do with himself and kept trying to 'kiss me better' bless him. Hormones really do control us at the mo.

Hope everyone is well x

pol25 · 30/03/2006 08:33

I have some fab v.dark red gap maternity combats. Sent from a buddy in the us as i'm not sure they do maternity over here. I love them!!! Going to be Sad when i'm not preg and have to put them away!
Have quiet a bit of next stuff too- tend to find that fits me best and is comfy.
Got my first childminded child starting today too, am I mad??? I think I must be although feel really well and I guess 'blooming'. Or just eating plenty and am fat and happy! Grin

HellKat · 30/03/2006 08:35

Morning all.
Welcome Xoz!
Marls- Great pic. very Envy. I've been wearing low riders in the next size up as my rear & thighs seemed to have gained (did previously have skinny legs lol). Maternity clothes are still too big around bump so looks like I'm stuck in these jeans for the time being.

How's evryone else?

Have a great day all. xx

HellKat · 30/03/2006 08:36

P,s Welcome back Cal & Tassis. Brain is screwed lol.
Just got over that 24 hr stomach bug and still feel drunk lol.

Woodelf · 30/03/2006 09:29

Good morning all!! Just been catching up with all the posts; it's amazing how varied our experiences are. Must say I find Next is the only place that I can get trousers long enough - not over tall (5 9) but it's the legs that have the length not the body (which is getting rounder!).
Loved their stretchy black lycra ones that have the roll over/under bump option - they are so comfy and don't press my bump! Want a brown pair but they don't have them...

Interested in idea of reusable nappies too - naive first time idealist or sensible option?

calvemjoe · 30/03/2006 09:33

Thanks Hellkat.

Woodelf, I find Next great, but they don't ever have them in my size with the longer leg so I just keep on going in and seeing what they have in stock. Think I'm going to give up soon and just order from directory (plus sil works at next head office so if I do it through her I get 25% off!) Grin

Good luck for today pol, for what it's worth I think you're crazy Wink

calvemjoe · 30/03/2006 09:35

Also, my long trousers from mothercare are (for the first time ever in my life) too long

puppy · 30/03/2006 10:08

Hi all Smile

Pol Good luck today you'll be fine, I don't think your mad , if you are that means I am too lol, I remember my first mindee starting I was really nervous but all went well as it will for you.

Cori good news about your bloods, I'm having the triple test on monday

Calvemjoe sorry to hear your dh forgot mothers day, my dh quite often doesn't bother with my birthdays, valentines day etc its not that he has forgotten its that he is that disorganised that he never get round to sorting anything out.

Welcome xoz congratulations on your pregnancy and hope you have a smooth ride.

Angeliz hope your daughter is getting better now

Welcome back tassis glad you had a great break, where did you go?

I too have found next really good, bought two tops from there last week, waiting from soe jeans to arrive from dorothy perkins.

Been feeling slightly sick in the mornings, I think its due to the smellies that get spray by dh and dd and my self, they turn my stomack I hated them when pg with ds along with coffee and bacon.

Got my next scan appt through 10th May fingers crossed the placenta has moved.

waiting for my consultant appt which will probably be towards the end. I have to see a consultant as I have been on beta blockers in the past for my tachycardia so its just to check I will be ok for labour.

Soon be easter, I'm looking forward to the time off I have booked off although I will be decorating and sorting through all the cupboards to get rid of rubbish etc. What have you all got planned?

Lysettes · 30/03/2006 10:08

hi everyone!

Isabella Oliver are great for clothes - a bit more pricey, but well sized and i'm hoping they will take me all the way through! The wrap top is particularly good as it's short but then wraps around you rather like you see egyptian mummies wrapped up Smile

I've been thinking of reusables, but we don't have any outside space so now thinking of environmentally friendly disposables - kind of a halfway house (not a total cop out!)

also the nanny lady is great for advice if you're thinking of reusables. can't remember the website but she googles easily enough.

have a great day everyone! The sun's out again Grin

kreamkrackers · 30/03/2006 10:57

hi everyone, sorry i haven't been on in ages been really ill and when i'm not ill dd is ill :( it's hard as she definetely has a poor immune system and we're now trying to get single mmr vaccines thanks to our lovely hv because she is borderline to whether she can handle live vaccines and we feel giving three live vaccines at once is a bad combination for her. also we are now in loads of mums and tots groups and if she keeps getting ill she will be put on to perminent antibiotics, it's a hard choose to make but dd loves all the groups we go to but she can't keep getting ill.

we had our hospital appointment on tuesday and they wouldn't scan me as i had a scan at 8 weeks so i feel very upset as we didn't get a picture and i'm really worried about this pregnancy as i'm losing weight without trying even though i'm no longer being sick and have terrible stomach and back pains. anyways baby is due on 24th sept.

they told us that our 20 week scan will be performed by a consultant as dd's heart problems wasn't spotted on her 20 week scan and we almost lost her when we brought her home. they will then decide how to take things from there.

hope everyone else is having a good healthy pregnancy.

compo · 30/03/2006 11:14

Sorry to hear things are so bad Kreamkrackers Sad That's awful them not giving you another scan at 12 weeks too
Re. maternity clothes - I got loads from ebay. I'm living in Next jeans at the moment but had to take them up as they are so long!! They are massive round the waist so I have to keep hoiking them up. Hoping they'll last all the way through

OP posts:
Lysettes · 30/03/2006 13:01

KK you poor thing, I'm so sorry things are so tough for you at the moment.

Can you get them to check for baby's heartbeat at all at your next appointment, or go for an extra one - if you phone up and cause a scene they will generally see you.

Will be thinking of you - hope it gets better lol

mandaz · 30/03/2006 16:53

Hi, I'm Manda and I'm just over 17weeks pmg. I can't remember if I have posted on this page before (memory is definately getting worse!) so thought I'd just say hello.

Pg was a complete surprise as was going for tests for infertility problems. Found out just after Christmas. Since then I have moved house and split up from husband but am now working on reconcilation. So its been a busy time! I had an emergency scan at aprox 8 weeks and another when I moved as I had to register with a new midwife/hospital. It all looked fine although we're not sure how long the baby is as it wouldn't lie still! I have another scan booked for the 13th April. I have had bp problems and am losing weight rapidly - 2 stones so far, but as I'm overweight I don't think they're too worried. Apart from an ezcema flare up, I'm having a bit of discomfort from my lower stomach area - crampy pains and some back ache but nothing too serious I don't think. My due date is September 12th.

So that's me! Have to say I find this site really helpful and it's great to read about women at the same stage as me.
