Puppy- Thank goodness you're in pain too hun Wink At least I'm not going bonkers. It's the same side every day too. I'd take him along just to be safe. Sounds as if they're cleaning themselves. I know it's something to worry about if it comes out smelly or in a liquid form then it means severe infection.

puppy · 22/03/2006 09:52

Thanks for for being glad i'm in pain too hk lol , I posted last night about my other pains, seem to have quite a few. We are getting stretched now like you say and also the lo's can lay on nerves etc. I really can't wait to get to the blooming stage.

HellKat · 22/03/2006 09:56

Same here! You see pics of celebs glowing etc and you never get to see the flaky, spotty skin, ginormous backsides etc. I know how you feels about pain lol. Booking up with the physio tomorrow to get this back & spd sorted. Apart from pain though I'm feeling great (shame I don't look it lol)

Angeliz · 22/03/2006 10:06

HellKat, that's called 'airbrushing' not bloomingGrin

puppy · 22/03/2006 10:13

Luckily I have no spots Grin but my eczema has flared up on my neck at the front a great big patch grrrr and on my arms and legs, its not too bad though.

Can't wait for tonight going to leeds to buy some mat clothes, living in one pair of mat jeans and using hair bobbles with my normal ones but the bobbles ae getting to tight now. tops are way too short. going to mamas and papas to check out the pliko pushchair \link{http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product_details.php?id=1883689&type=I\this one} I know its eary but only looking as i want a good sturdy pushchair so i can use it for childminding after the lo. I thought it was a good package pushchair, crrycot, footmuff and car seat. Gosh i'm waffling.

puppy · 22/03/2006 10:13

lol angeliz Grin, true though

HellKat · 22/03/2006 10:16

Grin Angeliz.

Angeliz · 22/03/2006 10:22

puppy i like that one.
I like mine facing me too.
I am wondering about \link{http://www.twoleftfeet.co.uk/acatalog/Emmaljunga_Twin_Crossway_2_in_1_Safari.html\this} one (not neccassarliy that fabric) as i LOVE Emmaljunga.

It's very wide though!

puppy · 22/03/2006 10:29

That one looks really nice angeliz, DH prefers it if we got a umbrella fold as he hated the graco one we had with ds kept complaining it was to big and bulky lol.

Angeliz · 22/03/2006 10:31

Yes they are more bulky.
I also love this for dd who will be 5 but she'd love it.

puppy · 22/03/2006 10:35

That looks fun, wonder if i could clip on two for mindees lol , i'd be scared of them falling off, wonder what it would be like with kerbs.

compo · 22/03/2006 10:54

Morning everyone. I'm 14+5 and haven't felt any movement yet. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow - do you think it will be too early to hear the heartbeat?

OP posts:
puppy · 22/03/2006 10:57

Hi comp midwife got a heartbeat for me at 12+5 did take a bit of time to get it though

compo · 22/03/2006 11:03

ooh, hopefully she'll try then!! Thanks Puppy Smile

OP posts:
Woodelf · 22/03/2006 11:16

Hi Ladies,

Went for what I thought was scan today and it wasn't! But in compensation the doc found the heartbeat! YAY Smile. DH was there and I had to ask is that actually the baby so they showed my slower heartbeat too - talk about needing proof....

Not sure if I've felt any movements as I think I have assumed it's all wind and my organs being pushed around at the moment...

Bella23 · 22/03/2006 11:31

Woodelf - yay on listening to the heartbeatGrin

Yes could definately do with a bit of airbrushing at the moment - also to be stretched a bit. I reckon if I was a willowy 5 foot 10 I would look great but only being 5 foot 5 I am just looking fat and dumpy! Roll on a bigger bump so I look pregnant.

Puppy - oh dear your little one does sound like he might have an infection, hope it gets sorted soon and doesn't get painful.

compo · 22/03/2006 11:32

brilliant news Woodelf. Is your scan at a later date then?

OP posts:
Lysettes · 22/03/2006 12:21

Well, back in work today as my b pressure had climbed so high on Monday due to my boss, that the doctor signed me off. Strict instructions to do nothing, so managed to get a whole day pretty much watching trash tv.... Smile

they've threatened to sign me off if it happens more than twice more.

DH has been very supportive and very worried too.

bella I look like I've just eaten too many pies at the moment! I can see people thinking "is she pg or is she just lardy!!!"

Am at ob clinic on friday so hopefully I will get to listen to heartbeat then as am mega paranoid that there is a problem!

16 weeks today! Yay Smile

pol25 · 22/03/2006 14:35

Endured my sisters birthday yesterday with five under fives! Feeling popped today!
I have tried every so called miracle cure for strech marks possible with first bubba- none worked but just made your bump smell lovely! Had huge strech marks last time and lil one I looked after who was four asked if it was the baby scratching to get out! Lol... if only she had come out that way... I have a feeling it would've been less painful Grin !
I'm sure when I went for my scan at hospital (at 13weeks) they did test for downs as she told me I was v.v. low risk... So still unsure why i'm going and DP isn't going as can't really keep taking time off for not that important app's and its not my scan, unless they want to scan the fibroid they found again, although she said they would do that at twenty weeks...? Good, i'm pg and loosing my marbles! Not sure if I should ask MIL to come with me and then have DD while I go in, incase it is a scan???!
During my scan the sonographer found bubba's heart beat and we listened... Sounded wonderful! Hoping to feel something soon... Now 14+3 and dying to feel bubba move about!
I am going to get a buggypod for our pram- we brought a bebe confort 3 in 1 as soon as I knew I was preg, well about ten weeks... I never had a pram-pram with DD and want to with this, possibly last bubba and so getting buggypod for those moments when either DD is tired or having a complete strop! Wink

Bella23 · 22/03/2006 15:02

Well midwife just been, really nice ladies. A bit of an anti-climax though as she said its a bit early to listen to the heartbeat and didn't want to stress me out looking for it in case they had trouble finding it.
Had loads of blood taken - well felt like it!
So that's that excitment over until the next on the 24th April !

Lysettes - look after yourself hon with your blood pressure, poor you. Are you getting headaches from it?

Lysettes · 22/03/2006 15:49

bella that's great news that she was so lovely. Must admit that last time i was at the anc they listened to the heartbeat and took so long that the consultant turned on the u/sound machine, but then straight away we found a heartbeat! without seeing another piccie...

I haven't been getting any symptoms with the b pressure previously, and i'm on methyldopa which has been controlling it. Was quite worried on Monday because I did get the headaches, spots in front of eyes, and very swollen fingers - that's why i took myself off to the doctors!

had v nice conversation with boss's wife this afternoon and she told me to get myself signed off, even though it's totally against my nature - ramming it home that i must look after lo. Would love to hear the air when boss has to deal with a temp when I do go (he hates temps, and is very picky about everything....) GrinGrin

compo · 22/03/2006 15:50

glad you finall y got to see someone Bella! Pol25 - it's a nightmare juggling all the hospital/gp visits with young kids isn't it?!! Lysettes - sorry to hear about your bp. Hope you manage to get lots of rest Smile

OP posts:
mabel1973 · 22/03/2006 15:53

woodelf - lovely that you heard the heartbeat!
Lysettes look after yourself make sure you do plenty of relaxing!

pol - do you know anything about those buggypods? Ia friend mentioned them to me, but when I googled it, I couldn't find any reviews on them because they were still too new.
I am not sure how comfy it would be. DS will only be 21 months so I don't think he'll be able to walk everywhere when no.2 comes along.
At the moment I have a lovely (altough v. heavy and bulky) Graco pushchair that starts out as a backwards facing pram and lies flat, then can be converted to a pushchair which also goes completely flat the other way round, so DS can still sleep in it when we're out for the day.
I don't know if I want a double buggy as really I want the baby to be able to lie flat and be well supported and cosy, which you seem to have to compromise with most double buggies.

Marls001 · 23/03/2006 02:30

Hi all!

Lysettes - That can be so scary. Glad you caught it early. Hopefully after some rest hypertension will go away & won't be back!!

Puppy, hope DS can get on antibiotic or whatever needed ASAP and gets well quickly! We haven't gone through one of those yet ... crossing my fingers ...

Woodelf - Yay on the heartbeat - it's always such a relief to hear.

Compo - Nurse was able to hear mine pretty easily at 10 1/2 weeks - hope you're able to hear it soon!

Re: Strollers, have one \link{http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007PGJX0/qid=1143080768/br=1-12/ref=br_lf_ba_12//102-4224067-2912115?v=glance&s=baby&n=542438\jogging}, one lightweight \link{http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_12/602-8397812-2731010?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000BMK570\similar to this one} (loved it!), and a starter one, just a \link{http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_3/602-8397812-2731010?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007KMUH4\wire frame that takes a car seat}, for newborns. DS at 2 1/2 likes walking, wouldn't sit still in a stroller - even so my tiny car's trunk wouldn't hold a double!

pol25 · 23/03/2006 08:46

I used to work for a baby store and so have a bit of an upper hand... I know nearly all double bar the maclaren and m&p don't fit through your 'standard' doors and so I wouldn't touch them at all, but I know what everyone means about the buggy thing- no little wrapped up cosy new born.
The buggypod is new... but think it's pretty cool. Have seen it and seems to attach very easily and quickly to most prams. DD enjoys hanging out of buggy as it is- she will be/nearly 2 when bubba is born and girls tend (lets hope Grin) to be less lazy at walking than boys... So it'll only be a half an hour job in there. I'm also not the mum who goes out shopping all day etc and she never sleeps in there so not really in need of a recline for her, just a seat for tired legs or when we have minx-y fingers! Plus we have pram for bubba 2!
Lysettes- sorry to hear about your bp... a great excuse to do nothing and rest tho- be pampered!!! Wink
Is anyone else starting the whole swollen ankles thing already???
