Sigh, I've had horrible heartburn since 20 weeks. Not a fun side effect of pregnancy. I found gavison (available free on the NHS for preggo Mums in Scotland) totally kicked the arse of Rennies or Tums even if it tastes minging so if you are suffering try upgrading to Gaviscon. I heft a huge bottle around in my bag with me :( (yes, yes I know you can get those little wee capsules but they are daft money and I would go through them at a rate of knots!)

My invoice got paid today - hurrah - so I'm getting the last few bits and pieces I'd allocated to this month on the babylist, online. Not so exciting now we are in the realms of bedding and baby thermometers... hey ho. I also was a bit of a menace on Ebay last night in terms of cute babygrow bundles and embarrassing winter hats. Poor child will only have, like, two 'new' outfits what with all of the hand me downs! DH has been buying some nice stuff he found on Etsy... if I wasn't knocked up, am not sure I'd be certain I was the girl in our relationship.

Oh and he also made me laugh to the point of wetting myself yesterday, which had to happen at some point I guess - I don't suggest looking at a Facebook page called 'badly stuffed animals' unless you're girded up with Tena lady. He was very repentant....

Catbag · 03/09/2012 13:59

YEY! John Lewis cot and moses' mattresses (x2) have just been delivered. By the youngest and sweetest delivery man I have ever seen too. He thought I must be about ready to drop imminently. I said sadly unfortunately not, I'm having twins so am just enormous. He said aw, no, 'tis nature's miracle. Sweet boy, lol.

TheDetective · 03/09/2012 14:42

I only woke up at 1 Shock although I didn't get to sleep til after 2am, and I've had the most bizarre horrible dreams Confused waking me up, but not enough to wake me up properly if you know what I mean. So just ended up going from one nightmare to the next.... urghhhh. Wish someone had bothered to wake me up earlier!!

DP said he was up at 9 with DS, but the buggers left me in my horrible dreams!

Shelly, you sound like you have a UTI!!

Bit bored now, feel like it's a wasted day sleeping so late :( Still, work tomorrow to look forward to!

I got my v shape pillow yesterday from Argos. Don't bother. It's rubbish. Not really supportive at all! :(

Today I was severely tempted to donate my new pushchair to charity shop as the front wheel decided to fix solid from swivel. I could not negotiate the shops so called DH to look on Internet for how to release. He told me how, I did it, and the wheel completely came out, with DD in the pushchair (weighing 12kg). Nobody stopped to help. Then the blardy thing would not collapse to go back in the car. I was in tears in the car park. I thought I knew how to do it as I have been using it all weekend. Eventually collapsed it and it smashed down onto the path resulting in scratches on the metalwork. Life feels so hard at the moment.

If it is any cosolation to newbies, people who I know with several kids are saying to me about how hard it will be going back to the beginning again.

Hope you have sought medical advice shelley I really think you should x a UTI can bring on early labour. (can seem tempting at times, but still too early for best baby safety)

jaylee89 · 03/09/2012 15:59

feel so sorry for the ladies having heartburn, ive only had it once this pregnancy and not once with DD (DD was bald so this one must be also) but the one time i had it felt like my throat was on fire so can utterly feel sorry for those having it constantly.

bump seems to have got bigger and slightly "dropped" by looks of it....anyone else feeling like they want their bodies back now? to be able to bend down properly, to be able to sleep properly and most of all wear the clothes you love the most!!!

feeling very tired today and have no appitite at all!

pikz · 03/09/2012 16:03

Having a real I've put on too much weight and I still have 11 weeks to go day. Worried I'm giving myself a real up hill battle for once the baby is born. Everywhere I look online people seem to have only gained tiny amounts and I seem t have put on loads Sad

jaylee89 · 03/09/2012 16:10

pikz dont worry how much weight you put on sweetie just remember its for your baby your growing inside of you. i have put on about 7lbs so far and am not really fussed if i put on more ill just go for long walks once baby is here!

enjoy stuffing your face because this is only time when you can without people thinking your a greedy so and so lol..........i went to mac donalds yesterday and ordered myself a large mc chicken sandwich meal with 2 double cheeseburgers on the side and i ate the lot.........it was bloody lovely aswel lol.....Grin

applepieinthesky · 03/09/2012 16:27

pikz Don't be too hard on yourself and stop Googling! The weight you are gaining is for the benefit of your baby who is a little miracle.

I feel very emotional today which I think is a combination of tiredness and hormones. I miss DP and my dog so much I could cry! Can't wait to get home to see them.

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2012 16:28

Good Lord jaylee that is good going Shock I once bought (pre pg) two double cheeseburgers and felt sick half way through the second, and that was without chips or a drink.

MissMummy1 · 03/09/2012 16:29

jaylee how on earth can you eat that much and have only put on 7lbs?! Envy lol

jaylee89 · 03/09/2012 16:58

lmao im not to sure i have an overactive thyroid which i have been told you burn more calories.

with DD i gained about 4 stone but then developed the thyroid so since then ive lost alot of weight before i had DD i was a size 8-10 went up to a size 16-18 now am a size 10-12 (during this pregnancy). also had terrible sickness at the start till about 15 weeks then had toothache for 3 weeks so didnt really eat much solid food.

mind you my mw isnt at all happy with me when she see's me. i remember at my 25 week app she gave me a good telling off. which made me feel a little guilty so ive been stuffing my face.

i had my mac donalds about 1ish yesterday then didnt eat till about 8ish which i had some toast. do you find though that some days you can eat for england and them some days i think of food and it really turns my stomach...anyone else get this???

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/09/2012 16:59

jaylee I reaaaalllyyy want a mcds now!! Instead we're having chicken lattice with new pots and veg. Much healthier but need a cheeseburger now!

StuntNun · 03/09/2012 17:04

That's impressive Jaylee! This baby wanted McDs in the first trimester but those cravings seem to have gone now. I was also cravings spare ribs, Coke and Subway veggie delites for a while.

The boys have Ju Jitsu tonight and I have my sax lesson so I have ordered Domino's pizza for tonight in a fit of extravagance. It's pre-ordered and paid for but now I'm having a middle-class crisis over whether you're supposed to tip the delivery guy or not. And how much would I tip? I guess £2 would be taking the piss but the meal is less than £20 so any more than £3 would be adding a lot to the cost. Maybe I'll just get DH to answer the door as it probably wouldn't occur to him to tip the guy.

Pikz I was asked three times this weekend if I'm having twins, or due in the next fortnight. So errrrr I don't think you're alone in worrying about weight. I'll pop a pic on the FB group - I do basically look full term. I am however pretty much carrying it all in the bump (or my DH and sister are lying to spare my feelings) - but have been told from extra growth scans that junior is only 50th centile - so I guess it's fluid poor stomach muscles it looks like there could be a tidal wave when my waters go.

I'm missing sleep more than anything now - but m'eh that's not really going to be made up for after the birth, is it? :(

TitsalinaBumSquash · 03/09/2012 17:11

We had lentil and tomato soup with bread, I can't eat a lot before wanting to vom.
Plus I'm trying to use up the store cupboard food because things fall out everytime the door is opened Blush

As for weight gain, I've put on about a stone, it's all bump boobs and thighs but I guess it come with the territory. I'll just have to work my bum off after junior arrives. sigh

Dixiebell · 03/09/2012 17:12

Skills you never knew you'd have to master until you became a mummy/mummy to be:

  1. timing a shower including hair wash to last for exactly one episode of Peppa Pig.

  2. turning over in bed every 30 mins without letting go of three pillows held between different limbs without waking the other occupant of the bed.

jaylee89 · 03/09/2012 17:13

so sorry DH21. were having chicken and veg pie with mash and baby carrots. mmmm cant wait. but yours does sound very tasty too Grin

but now i am fancying a bloody dominos ......grrrr! lol

stunt i never tip the delivery bloke....stuff that dominos rob you of enough money anyway!

why o why do takeaways taste so darn good!!!!! ( specially whilst pregnant)

lane I have put on over 2 stone as well, so you're not alone. I was shocked but I weighed myself but hey ho

I've got no food in for dinner, will knock up some pasta for DD but no idea what DP and I will have, maybe a takeaway! Grin

kissyfur · 03/09/2012 17:27

When I weighed myself, not but! Blummin iPhone!

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2012 17:27

DD2 just scared the life out of me. She is renowned for vile poos. Well, I smelled a smell, asked who had done a poo and she owned up. I undid the nappy and screamed 'daddy!' it was pea green, and she has not had peas in the last 24 hours, and has never had a poo like that. After a bit of pondering, the only thing she has had different was the blue slush puppy yesterday. Dr Google confirmed blue food dye does indeed result in pea green poo. Either that or she is really ill, and she is fine, so I blame the slush puppy. It looked like play dough.

horseylady · 03/09/2012 17:33

I've put on Just over a stone. So thatll be near two stone by the of the pregnancy? 8 weeks left!!! Omg!!!

No hunger pangs here :( apart from fruit I swear I'm reliving the first trimester? I feel exactly the same only fatter with a moving baby inside!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/09/2012 17:47

FatimaLovesBread · 03/09/2012 18:21

Arghh I seem to have found a problem... I like no baby names Sad

Nothing jumps out at all, this baby is definitely not going to be named before it's born Grin
