Thread 3; go!

Hello - finally joining this thread after lurking forever. I'm 40, and after an early MC last year, thought I would never get another BFP. It finally happened, after a nice holiday, while the GP was doing busy referring us for infertility investigations...

I've not had any braxton hicks.

I think I might have felt the baby move last night for the first time but not sure. I was trying to get to sleep and it was a bit like a muscle spasm inside but it wasn't as strong, fast or regular a feeling as a muscle spasm. I was lying on my left side and there were little vibrations going up my left side from my belly button to my rib cage so felt like if was maybe kicking? I need it to happen again though so that I can be sure!

I'm not sure why he's not up for sex really apart from he thinks it might upset the baby. His excuse this morning was that we might wake it up! We had a mc in Jan which coincidently happened a couple of days after sex so I think he maybe associates them together despite there bring no problems this time. I've tried to explain there is nothing wrong with doing it but he's not taking me on.

theboutiquemummy · 01/08/2012 10:07

happyhow that funny bubbly feeling is movement x Wink

As for bedroom department it was no go until I woke up the other morning like a raging hormone i think that did the trick but have to say we took it very gently just in case Blush tmi

Tugstonia · 01/08/2012 10:11

Good luck today mummypud, thinking of you x

mummypud · 01/08/2012 10:16

Tugstonia · 01/08/2012 10:18

That's fantastic mummyp!! So so happy for you. Such a relief :)

DoIgetastickerforthat · 01/08/2012 10:24

Oh Mummypud, just catching up with this thread and that is brilliant news - you must feel so relieved.

MrsMallard · 01/08/2012 10:27

Fantastic news mummypud - it's great that you've had your scan early in the day and can now enjoy thinking about your baby again!

happyhow · 01/08/2012 10:30

That's brilliant news Mummypud!! SO glad everything is ok. Hopefully you can relax a bit and enjoy your pregnancy again.

I told my hubby I was on strike from now on!! If I'm not getting anything, then neither is he!! Grin I'll never last when my hormones properly kick in but he's not going to get a choice in the matter - his bits will betray him eventually!!!!

mrsbugsywugsy · 01/08/2012 10:34

that's great news mummypud.

i had a bit of bright red blood this morning when i wiped. i panicked a bit and called the midwife and i'm now waiting for an appointment. i think she will try to listen to the heartbeat.

CreepyCrawly · 01/08/2012 10:39

So glad to hear that mummypud!

I'm the opposite of most you too, can't get enough 'action' at the moment! DH is over the moon!

I taxed my car this morning. I got 6 months and that's really put things in perspective, I'm not gonna have to tax my car again until I have a baby. Scary stuff!

SquealyB · 01/08/2012 10:53

Woo Hoo mummypud - I am so happy for you.

MrsB hopefully good news at your end too and try not to worry too much (easier said than done!).

It is fair to say we have been having bedroom issues too Blush. For the first 12 weeks I was a bit of a nut case and didn't really like DH tocuching me at all. Now I am feeling a bit better but I reckon I have scared him off for good Grin. May have to put the moves on him this week Wink

Birdies · 01/08/2012 10:53

Brilliant news mummypud!!!

Oh Bugsy that must be worrying for you but remember it's also very common. Hopefully you'll hear the little heartbeat later on - tell us as soon as you do!

theboutiquemummy · 01/08/2012 10:57

mummypud that's brilliant news so happy for you big hugs x

DiscoDomina · 01/08/2012 11:06

Thats fantastic news Mummypud Grin

DiscoDomina · 01/08/2012 11:08

MrsB i'm sure everthing will be fine hope you get an appointment soon

mrsbugsywugsy · 01/08/2012 11:12

Hello everyone,

thanks for your messages. The midwife said not to worry about such a small amount of blood, and we had a listen and heard the heartbeat! Such a relief.

She also said aches and pains are common around 15 weeks because the baby is having a growth spurt.

tinyeyes123 · 01/08/2012 11:16

Lovely news Mummypud. I just had a minor panic as thought there was blood when I wiped. Then remembered I has beetroot for tea yesterday Blush

SquealyB · 01/08/2012 11:51

Great news mrsbugsy - glad everything is ok!

octanegirl · 01/08/2012 11:52

Happy for you Mummypud and mrsbugsywugsy also!

I'm impressed with the care levels here. I found a mucus plug in my pants this morning so called the hospital for reassurance - half an hour later there was a midwife in my house! She had a feel of my tummy and listened to the baby's heart and all was fine. She says you can lose the plugs regularly and not to worry.

In other news my DP turned up (hadn't seen him for four weeks since he ditched me) with a bunch of roses and the declaration that he wants to be with me, look after me and is fully on board with the baby. It's such an about turn that I am really shocked and quite cautious but obviously it's hugely positive.

ps my midwife did tell me not to go Mountain Biking in case I cause the placenta to separate by going over hard bumps...for any of you who were planning to go Mountain Biking!

BuntyCollocks · 01/08/2012 12:01

Excellent news, mrsbugsy and mummypud!

BuntyCollocks · 01/08/2012 12:02

Even more happy news! So pleased for you, octane - but don't let him off the hook too easily!

Pascha · 01/08/2012 12:11

Birdies and anyone else Braxton Hicks info it all sounds fine.

Fantastic news Mummypud and MrsB so pleased for you both.

Octane be careful won't you? I really hope now he's had time to think he's committed to you but don't let him off the hook gently.

Tugstonia · 01/08/2012 12:13

That's such good news mrsbugsywugsy!

And fab that your DP is back on board octane! Hoorah!

SquealyB · 01/08/2012 12:23

Octane that is great news that your DP is back in the picture but definetly worth having a real talk about what lead him to up sticks and run in teh first place so you can get to the bottom of it all.

Really hope it works out for you two.

pmgkt · 01/08/2012 12:34

Octane I'm so pleased for you. I would just have a few bits of advice which you can take or ignore, just speak from my friends experience. Don't make him pay, it will just drive a wedge between you, you need to sit down and talk about what happened and why. Don't use it against him when it suits you, again it will just drive a wedge. This may well make you even stronger cos when you talk you will both have to be honest and talk about feelings like never before, but that makes it easier in the future. I'm not suggesting you should be a doormat just that if you are going to move on you will need to discuss and leave in the past. That said nothing wrong with chocolates, meals and special treats for you.
