Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2012 16:10

Nooo you have to have a tree Stacey even if it's just a small fake one!

My dd just did a poo in her potty GrinGrinGrin I'm not even potty training her I just went to change her, noticed she was a bit windy, and asked her if she wanted to do a poo in her potty and she said yes and did it!

PurplePidjin · 16/07/2012 16:11

Next sale has mat jeans in, lots of different styles. I resisted a duplicate pair of the incredibly comfy ones i got last week, but bought a red tee shirt for £6 :o

Also 3 sleep suits with built in scratch mits for £12 in Matalan (funky ones with boats on, will try and link in a mo) i bought 0-3 months on the basis that until i get approximate measurements at 36w i won't know how long NB will last for. Did i do it right??

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2012 16:14

I think that's right pidj although it's always hard to tell until you know their 'shape'. Dd was 8lb and NB was roomy. I've probably said this before but we found Sainsburys sleep suits great

PurplePidjin · 16/07/2012 16:18

These. I also like the look of their maternity stuff, but it's only stocked in big stores - couldn't see it in Southampton today.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 16/07/2012 16:24

Ahh Spotty well done to your dd, that is very impressive!!!

I just had a bit of a nose bleed I think from my cold, I had a couple last time and it scares me!! Going out for the first time today in 10 mins to get dinner, maybe chilli? Apparently the jet stream is moving north this weekend and we might get some sun....

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2012 16:26

Mmm chilli sounds amazing! Yes I can see sun in the forecast too, tomorrow is meant to be nice here

Bubbless · 16/07/2012 16:34

were aparently having bubble and squeek and sausages for dinner tonight, accoridng to my DP
mhm...

im hoping for sunshine!!

Cookiesandcream06 · 16/07/2012 17:15

Congratulations littlemiss Thanks and not Envy in the slightest Hmm !!
I know it's old fashioned but not being married and I'll have two DDs by two men and no sign of a ring .. Makes me Sad and a bit Angry sometimes. I get so upset that DD1 has my ex partners surname... I'm struggling with the concept of having two, neither of which sharing my name?

Making a little roast for dinner tonight.. Even though had one at DMs yesterday.. This weather is all about warming stodgy meals! No salad... Hmm

Spoke to my boss today about hours for Sept when Dd changes preschool.. I'm not allowed to work what I had planned.. So I'm going to be going on Mat Leave v early at this rate... Be joining you in October by the looks of it ladies!!

Oh and GrinGrinGrin about the talk of Christmas trees.. I

HoneyMum21 · 16/07/2012 17:23

Congratulations LittleMiss and Bubbles :)

Also, well done to your DD Spotty

Pidj i agree, there's somereally nice thiings in Matalan. Before we knew what we were having we'd already decided to go with bright colours and jungle animals mainly monkeys, we have an in-joke about monkeys- its a long story that also involves our hamster... yes we're weird whether it was aboy or a girl so we found some lovely jungle animal sleepsuits there.

Probably a silly question, but after the 20week scan (providing all goes alright) do we get another routine scan before b-day?

Bubbless · 16/07/2012 17:32

cookies- i dont know if this is possible or feasible but what about having DC2's sirname as yours, and changing DC1's? its your little family regardless of sirnames :)
im the same as you with the presents! kinda dreading christmas shopping whilst heavily preg though!

honey mum- we dont around by me (bucks) but it might be different where you are..

HoneyMum21 · 16/07/2012 17:34

christmas presents this year = cuddle with lovely warm baby :)

knottyhair · 16/07/2012 17:36

Congratulations littlemiss, and what a lovely idea to give you that ring bubbless! Stacy hope your DS feels better soon. Barbeasty, sorry you're suffering as well.
Managed to get a few maternity bits on Saturday at Bluewater but was not exactly overwhelmed by the choice! Just popped in the local Mothercare today which is quite small and managed to get 2 bras, some sexy over the bump massive pants, and a couple of nice tops for my holiday, so I think I'm covered for now. My bump seems to suddenly have got rather big and it can't all be bacon sandwiches surely....

knottyhair · 16/07/2012 17:38

Honey, re: scans I don't think you get another routine one after 20 weeks. I'm getting one at 28 wks and 34 wks because of my age/thyroid problem, but as far as I know, that's not the norm. Not good really - I'm sure I had another one 9 years ago with DS.

Stacks · 16/07/2012 17:41

Congratulations on the engagement little, and the promise of one Bubbless.

Mostly just marking my place on the new thread. Grumpy and bored in work today, just hoping the next 20 minutes goes by quickly!

Has anyone seen DIY Maternity? The tutorial section has some good patterns for making your own maternity clothes. Mostly adapting existing things, like a mans shirt into a lovely maternity one.

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 17:50

yay for a potty poo spottyteacakes :)

the matalan sleep suits are very cute! oh i love baby cloths shopping, we have bought everything in nutural colours.. well we do have pinks but not dresses, if elfie bump is a girl we will be buying some dresses tomorrow.. not too many just a couple :) I got a zara dress in a second hand shop for a pound last week, so if elfie is a boy i will be giving that to my friend with a girl bump.

itsMYNutella · 16/07/2012 19:00

Hi everybody!!

Blimey how did you manage to talk through three pages of a new thread before I even found it!! :)

Littlemiss I like Tabitha but it sounds horrible in English... There is a more German version Tabea (not entirely sure about spelling...) I like names that can be shortened.... But I don't really know why.
How long have you been learning Swedish? It sounds similar to German. I can almost understand a bit of dutch but not much really. :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/07/2012 19:23

Just done ds's drops and his ears look much better already, yay for antibiotic and steroid drops!

Just back from zumba, starting to have to really concentrate on what my body is telling me, not do much hip circling mext time me thinks! Teas starting to pull down the side of my uterus! First time anything has been uncomfy though, hopefully I can still carry on as I really don't wanna stop before the baby is born although my instructor may ban me at 36 weeks ish

I'm making Thai green chicken curry for dinner tonight with the leftover meat from our roast! Mmm, should have got my act together and made naan bread though!

itsMYNutella · 16/07/2012 19:56

I have a question, is anyone still taking vitamins? And if so what? Any recommendations?

My Dr recommended Magnesium (because of my crappy leg veins) so I picked up one with a bit of added folic acid etc. It has made me feel a bit brighter (there are some other B hits in there but I'm too lazy to go read the box now). Anyone else found taking something has helped boost energy levels / made you feel more normal?

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 19:56

stacey im glad to here ds's ears are on the mend! you are so clever making naan bread! i think im doing well if i remember to pick it up from the shop!

itsmynuttela i have been learning swedish for 2 years now, I think it is simalar to german, from the same language tree. I love names that can be shortened to, my name is Amy and you just can't really shorten it.

It feels like christmas eve with my scan tomorrow! i am not going to be able to sleep tonight but the scan is at 8am so i will have to be up at 6.30.. im a bridesmaid for a friends wedding tomorrow but thats not till the afternoon i think i will need to come home for a nap 1st!

Bubbless · 16/07/2012 20:10

nutella- we are having baby name trouble too! not sure of flavour yet, but i like names that can be long, and that can then be shortened, but if they are a girls name the shortening cant be a boys name e.g. sam/ samantha... my dp has given up with suggestions!!
oh, and im taking 'pregnancy care' from wilkos not very often because they are massive but they dont help with energy :/

the only time ive stopped feeling sick all day is when ive just had a sip of dp san miguel...

ivanapoo · 16/07/2012 20:14

Gah I posted on the old thread, thanks Stacks for pointing me in right direction...

Wonder how many threads we'll get through when we're all on mat leave ;)

Love that DIY Maternity site

PurplePidjin · 16/07/2012 20:24

Stacey, I'm off to investigate pregnancy yoga tomorrow and dinner was leftover roast chicken with passata and pasta :o

We like Rafael, nn Rafa, after Benitez, Nadal and DO's grandad. Bizarrely, my Gran also likes it - she asked about names then, before we could answer, said "I hope you're not going to go for one of those funny modern names like Darren" Hmm Oh the joys of 91 year old ladies with most of their marbles!

For a girl we liked Odette nn Etta which might work in Swedish/German? She's the Swan Princess from Swan Lake and a WWII heroine, then obviously Etta James the singer :)

Mummycox · 16/07/2012 20:31

Thanks for the thread weejo... Hope headache has gone.

Congratulations on the rings and engagements and happy news.

Jalfrezi for tea made today worth it. Little elf liked it too.

HoneyMum21 · 16/07/2012 20:34

Well, i'm a bit late coming to the maternity jeans party was trying to kid myself that i could get away without needing to get any and after looking in lots of places i found myself looking in New Look and have got 2 lovely pairs of skinny ones. A standard blue pair and a really nice grey pair which apparently had just come into stock (i'll find a link to them if anyone is interested)- really comfy and fairly cheap :)
