im wondering if there is any useful baby related things to do... am i supposed to wash the baby clothes even if they are bought new?

WeeJo08 · 16/07/2012 11:54

Littlemiss LOL! I was literally just walking back to my desk to post "I think I'm going to go out and buy a packet of Pickled Onion Monster Munch" It was Bubbless who put the idea into my head with her Walkers post! Also, Littlemiss CONGRATULATIONS! That is such lovely news - enjoy this super special time Grin How did he propose? Was it lovely? Did you cry?

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 11:55

bubbles you are a brave lady! im keeping my fingers crossed for sun for you :)

emilyeggs · 16/07/2012 11:56

CONGRATULATIONS littlemiss!!! Grin

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 12:00

i didn't cry he cried and im not great at cute subtle crying it all or nothing with me! we went to a mongolian bbq restaurant where we had our 1st date and he said just said how he was proud i had learnt swedish and how he loved me so much and how he was so happy we were having a baby and would i be his wife? he said it in swedish and i said "jag vill" which means i want which is compleatly wrong but he got the idea.. we were supposed to go out in his families boat that evening, the lake that we live on has lots of little islands but it was raining so we went to the city instead.. would have been more romantic on a boat but oh well, it's normal here that a couple just sits down and discusses it and decideds to get married they don't really do proposals so i was proud of him for trying :)

weejo i have monster munch envy!!

Barbeasty · 16/07/2012 12:00

Pidj I can second how awful maternity wear was in the past. We're going to the Goodwood revival again this year, and trying to find 1940s maternity wear (or even up to the 60s) has been too difficult. I've ended up going for a dress which looks vaguley like something a non-pregnant woman might have worn at a non specific point in the past.

Stacey hope the GP trip goes well and they manage to sort his ear out.

I have come away from the GP this morning with antibiotics, an inhaler and a peak flow meter for suspected asthma. I had pneumonia nearly a year ago and have had a cough ever since. Finally got round to going back to the Dr and have all this- I'm glad we get free prescriptions! (The pneumonia started about a month after my certificate from DD expired and cost me a fortune in antibiotics and inhalers.)

With movement it's still fairly intermittent and mostly when I'm on my back. Last time I think it was around 25 weeks when I suddenly stopped feeling movement, so went in to be checked and DD kicked the monitor and I still didn't feel it. Position of the baby, the placenta and where the baby is aiming can really change what and how much you feel. But if you're worried, contact your midwife. They'd rather check you and find it's all ok than miss a problem.

Also grateful for suggestions of things around Peppa Pig world. We're staying for a few days with my SIL in Bournemouth at the end of the month, and might look at something to do on the way home.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2012 12:02

I will wash all of the new baby clothes in fairy non bio until I know what sort of skin they have. I will stick with non bio if they are sensitive but go to normal bio if they have 'normal' skin

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2012 12:03

Envy at engagements and rings Grin

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 12:10

thanks spottyteacakes, really i just want an excuse to get the cute clothes out and imagine a little baby in them! must remeber baby isn't a doll...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/07/2012 12:17

Congrats to you littlemiss and Envy at the lovely ring bubbless

Well doc wasn't impressed that ds's ears hadn't been swabbed so he's done that and sent it off, we've got antibiotic ear drops for now and he'll ring on Friday and let us know if he needs anymore oral antibiotics!

I really want cake but have no ingredients :( although do have left over roast dinner for lunch Grin

Bubbless · 16/07/2012 12:23
