Welcome twirl - your due date is my ds' birthday :)

I haven't had a linea nigra with eithe of my others - I'm fair too. congrats to jom on your scan. My bump is small too - i an still fit in my size 10 tens...but they sit below the bump! When people find out I'm pregnant they say they would never know!

Feeling movement again now, so am happy! Still haven't done string test, but i will soon.

Kids have day off school due to snow, so we may go sledging..I'll have to take it easy!

HumphreysCorner · 01/03/2006 08:58

Morning ladies

Wallace Envy size 10-I think I was that when I was 10 years old-lol! ((xx))

spub-glad you had a good time hun. ((xx))

I am fair but got a linea nigra last time and have been looking very closely for it over the past week. I will report back any progress.

Ate far too many pancakes last night and still feel bloated. Playing havoc with my heartburn. I was laid watching my tummy last night and I'm sure it was wobbling on the surface in time with the kicks.

Anyway, have a lovely day all and I'll catch you later.

xxxxx

HumphreysCorner · 01/03/2006 08:59

By the way, no snow here on the east coast. Sad

xxx

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 09:25

Plenty of snow here in north wales ...schools closed :)

bumpybel · 01/03/2006 10:13

Morning girls..

Thankyou all sooo much for your lovely words and good advice. It's really supportive having everyone on here and i could hug you all! Thankyou thankyou thankyou! Oldiemum... how horrendous for you too.. glad things have turned around for you.

HC I am definitely going to do your thread test again! I didnt go into work today, because of the snow and might even do it now! (Ahem, of course after I've done a couple of hours of work from home of course!!)

Wallace.. size ten! I too havent been a size ten since I was about ten HC! On the bump front, everyone is commenting how much bigger I've suddenly got and also how 'low' it looks. I'm quite tall with a long body bit and stumpy legs, so this is probably why it looks lower than most!.. or maybe it is a very low bump! First appt with midwife on tuesday for about three months, so am looking forward to having checks and things.

I've got a very light brown line running from my belly button to 'down there' and lots of light coloured hairs! (Nice!), but dont know if this is the same thing you're all talking about. It's not really dark or anything. What does it mean? Oh and I still have an occasional leaky boob!

Hope everyones having a nice relaxed day! Take care all. xxx

bumpybel · 01/03/2006 10:36

Oh my god! Just done HC's test and after i'd spent ten minutes trying to squeeze my wedding ring off and attatch it to cotton, there was no mistaking it going round in a big circle! i did it with both hands to make sure it wasnt just a hand thing. Its mad how a little piece of metal and string can pick it up. How does it work HC? Am still too scared to definitely think its a girl, incase i did it wrong!

OldieMum · 01/03/2006 13:37

Sorry to be a party pooper, but it doesn't 'work' - it's an old-wives' tale. Wink

heartinthecountry · 01/03/2006 13:55

Hi ladies and welcome and congrats to all the relevant people since I was last on.

Was actually just logging on to say my bump has suddenly got lots bigger so very reassuring to see it is the same for some others. Are most of you in maternity clothes yet? I seem to remember holding onto my normal clothes for a bit longer with dd.

Is anyone else still feeling nauseous? I thought it had gone away but spent most of yesterday feeling distinctly queesy (maybe it was the pancakes!).

puddytat99 · 01/03/2006 14:27

Hi Everyone

Spud - Glad you had a great time in Amsterdam.

Jom - we too didn't find out if we were having a boy or girl, as would like to keep it a surprise.

I've definately had a 'bump surge'. I put my comfy cardi on this morning to wear on the way to work and it won't fasten around the front anymore. It did last week!!! Yesterday I couldn't get comfy, so ended up putting one of my hubby's tops on and trying to slob on the sofa for a bit. Did work for a little time :)

We've got no snow here in the East Midlands.

heartinthecountry · 01/03/2006 16:46

Hi Kayzed - think it is definitely pregnancy nausea. Not feeling really really sick, just slightly nauseaous, and you are right, eating doesn't seem to help anymore Sad. Am beginning to accept this might be how I feel for this whole pregnancy. I do at least have more energy though.

deblaca · 01/03/2006 17:54

reassuring re bump expansions ... i've been in maternty clothes for weeks now .... wallace, i think you're just showing off with your size 10 jeans!! i fantasise about my post baby size 10 body, once i join that gym and my wonderfully happy baby goes to the creche and pigs might fly - lol right -

Wallace · 01/03/2006 18:18

You are right...I was showing off Grin They are very baggy size 10 - you know when you try jeans on in the shop and they fit perfectly, then when you have worn them for a while they are just about falling off. And my size 10 maternity jeans are a tighter fit Grin

I still feel a bit queasy occasionally when very tired, so I have sympathy with you ladies.

Twirl · 01/03/2006 19:41

I am obviously the bloater here then because I was in maternity clothes at 13 weeks (and I'm sick of them already)! People keep telling me it won't be long now and then look embarrassed when I say not till July....
I am measuring slightly larger than average (ouch!) but I have my 23 week scan next week so they will check the size then....just hope it isn't twins!

Wallace · 01/03/2006 20:09

Oooh twins...that would be exciting!

I did the string test and it says BOY! Has it been right for anyody yet?

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 20:10

Twirl - you are not alone, I've been in maternity clothes for ages too :)
Just hoping same thing happens this time as with DD - after 4 months of BF I was a stone less than my pre pg weight ...mind you that was 11 years ago - I was in my twenties- much easier to lose weight then

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 20:11

Yes Wallace - the string test was right for me ..it said it wasn't sure Grin

maewest · 01/03/2006 20:15

Hi everyone, good news on all the scans - mine is on Friday afternoon (feels like it's been a long wait!). Went to yoga today, mostly lovely and relaxing, apart from bits where I had to balance on one leg, as I'm not the most co-ordinated of people Blush

With regards to clothes, most things haven't buttoned up comfortably for weeks, but I've been getting by with elastic bands. I have one pair of maternity combats from Dorothy Perkins, but to be honest they're a bit loose. Feel like i'm a bit inbetween at the mo.

maewest · 01/03/2006 20:17

oh and my spoddy DH insists that the string test is a load of balls, something to do with the Corialus (sp?) Effect, how water goes down the plughole etc

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 20:24

Good luck on Friday Maewest :) BTW whats spoddy??

jom · 01/03/2006 21:23

I'm still in of my 'normal' clothes although less and less of them are fitting me - its really only things that have a bit of give. I'm still wearing my jeans (pretty low cut) but have just taken them off and put on my PJs as they're not that comfortable to bum around in. (Think I'd best go shopping) And also need to get a bigger bra - again- have gone from an A to a C cup already and looks like a D is coming my way on the weekend. Not that I (or DH!) mind this. Wink

dangirl · 01/03/2006 21:30

Evening ladies

Had my 20 week scan today (although 21 +4) All is looking good. She confirmes that it is indeed a boySmile but we already knew that from previous scan.
DD was also there (4 years old) and she kept cuddling me through the whole thing. So sweet she isSmile

Feeling really rather well at the moment.
Am def. in maternity clothes now and look very pregnant if I may say so myselfGrin

Hugs to you all
Dangirl

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 21:45

How lovely - did DD understand what it was all about?

deblaca · 01/03/2006 23:24

ah thats so lovely dangirl .... we're due on the same day and both with boys ....

my jeans haven't fitted for weeks so much so they've been relegated to the attic with the rest of my pre pg clothes - (we are getting work done on the house so need to move/store everything anyway - just hope they're finished before lo arrives!)

x goodnight
