Deblaca - me too ...we're supposed to be having an extension built - its either that or move and it works out much cheaper to extend (I've had the house since 1991 so only a little mortgage) They don't hold out much hope for it being done by July though ...we'll prolly have to rent somewhere to have the baby!

HumphreysCorner · 02/03/2006 11:19

Morning ladies

Look, the string test is just a bit of fun Grin but it does work but no idea how. We will all find out in July what we are having for definite so just humour me. Grin

Beautiful sunshine here today. Making me want to get out and garden, have already bought some bigger hanging baskets.

DD had a poo in her pants this morning after successfully using the toilet for 3 days-aaaaaarrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Heartburn from hell still so swigging Gaviscon out the bottle. Just ironed and it has made me hot, hot, hot so just chilling now until I pick up DD from nursery.

Love to all

Hi HC ..don't worry, the little accidents do get fewer and further in between ...although I know it doesn't feel like it when you're in the middle of it Grin

Twirl · 02/03/2006 13:29

oooo toilet training! I need to do that soon. How long is it taking? My dd is 23 months and would love her to be out of nappies before lo arrives. Any tips?

LoL @kayzed ..hadnt spotted that!

pinkdolly · 02/03/2006 16:01

HC- You will look back and laugh at dd's potty training accidents. DD1 was trained last year and it took very well to wee wee's, but it did take longer to get her poo down the toilet. I went through a stage of leaving her pants of in the house. Of course I ended up with little piles of poo around the house instead.

Twirl- my dd2 will be is 2 1/2 and is not potty trained yet. I have tried a few times but she has no interest in it and I do not feel it is right to push a child into it. However, saying that I would like her to be out of nappies by the time the next one comes. DD1 was only 14 months old when dd2 came along and it was an endless task changing nappies!
Counting down the days to my scan (13th march).

HumphreysCorner · 02/03/2006 16:32

DD is 31 months and have been trying to potty train her since she was 2 and a bit. She just wasn't ready so kept leaving it a month or so and trying again. Started a week last Saturday and was determined to stick with it due to impending arrival in July and she knew when she was doing a poo because she hid in the corner. She was so determined to not use the potty that I was determined she would and apart from a few accidents (a poo and a wee today) not too bad. She has just fell asleep on my knee then woke up still half asleep and crying. All I could get out of her was wee wee so sat her on the potty and she did one-phew, nearly had a wet knee. I don't know when you attempt to get them dry at night though.

Twirl-I think 23 months is quite young and even 2 1/2 and agree with pinkdolly that you mustn't push it as they need to be ready. You have to try and ignore inlaws etc that try and tell you that they should be out of nappies by now.

My cat is asking to go out so must go.

Wallace · 02/03/2006 18:59

Ds was still in nappies when dd was born, and I think it may have ben easier than having a just toilet trained toddler. It is such a hassle when they are just out of nappies and you need to plan every outing around toilet stops Grin

I do remember how huge ds' bum seemed when I changed his nappy, compared to dd's tiny scrawny one!

I'm also cunting down dyas til my scan - it's on Monday. The suspense is killing me!

Wallace · 02/03/2006 19:01

Ooops - that is obviously counting Blush My typing is getting embarrassingly bad...

maewest · 02/03/2006 19:06

Got my bloodtest results today, all fine and officially low risk (phew). Went and bought some smart trousers for work from Debenhams. They are grey pin-stripe and rather lovely, also bought a top to go with. I've really missed buying clothes!

And for whoever asked what 'spoddy' was - it's from 'spod' which is somewhat akin to nerd or boffin. I really shouldn't be so mean... :)

maewest · 02/03/2006 19:07

oh, and my scan is 2.30 tomorrow, eek!

bumpybel · 02/03/2006 19:47

Evening girls.. just had a right old chuckle catching up on the posts!

Maewest, I knew exactly what you meant with spoddy and it made me laugh! I'm being particularly spoddy revising like a mad owl at the moment!

Wallace, theres no getting out of it, by making out your size ten clothes are massive and baggy!!! They are a ten and that makes you the envy of everyone! GrinI also laughed out loud at your typos!! and then discovering it! Ha Grin

HC, hearing about your hanging baskets has reinforced my image of you with slippers and a ponytail, only now, its also with a pair of gardening gloves... oh and cleaning up dd poo!!! Grin. At least you girls are getting the practice in!.. us first timers are going to be poo novices when the time comes and will prob be grovelling to you lot for advice!!

Dangirl, lovely to hear how sweet dd was at your scan.

Kayzed, hope youre not feeling too nauseous all the time. Must be crap feeling sick so much.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE REASSURE ME THAT THEY HAVE AT LEAST HAD ONE LEAKY BOOB!!! Grin

Wallace · 02/03/2006 20:11

Sorry no leaky boobs yet...but sure my time will come Grin

I don't usually bother correcting my typos, but when I saw that one...Blush

maeweat - goodluck for scan tonooorow - hope you get some lovely pics. Our debenhams doesn't do maternity clothes - annoying as I have a £25 voucher to spend. Might save it to put towards buying an outfit for dd or new baby for a wedding we are going to in August. Finding an outfit for myself will be very difficult - how do you find something that is flattering 3 weeks after giving birth!? And that I can breastfeed in!

Hi,
No leaky boobs here either sorry.

We had the amnio results back yesterday and everything is ok. We also had the scan today which was fab. The baby kept moving so we were there for ages. DH said he didnt want to know the sex but anytime they went below the waist I kept looking to see if there was anything obv. Think I may have seen something but then again it could have been the cord for all I know. At one point we had a really good look at the soles of the feet with 10 little toes poking out(cute)

Im def in maternity wear and have been since 13 weeks. The only non maternity stuffs I can still wear are stretchy t shirts.

Ive just had a thought that the last time I had a bit of 'nookie' was the night bump was conceieved. What with early bleeding and then the amnio I havent felt much up to it. Christ I best not mention it to DH he already thinks hes hard done by.

I forgot.
Went to see a frineds baby today and DD cried when I held the baby and kept wanting me to put it back down.
When I did eventually put the baby down and it started crying again she went to pick it up Shock
I feel a thread coming on a) how will I cope when its our baby I have to hold and b)without installing cameras how can I make sure she doesnt try and pick it up or poke it with things etc.

pinkdolly · 02/03/2006 20:46

Wallace - Have just had a right ol chuckle re your typo. Grin.
Like you my dd1's bum seemed huge against dd2 who was only 5llbs 14oz. I remember it feeling really weird dd1 was only 14 months old when dd2 born and up until that point she seemed so small herself. She seemed to grow up into a toddler quite quickly having a tiny thing around.

Sorry bumpy not with you on the leaky boobs, dreading the embarrasemnet of wet tops in the middle of shopping. Especially in summer, at least in winter you could hide under a thick coat.
Mae - Hope the scan goes well tomorrow, I love seeing baby on the screen.

bumpybel · 02/03/2006 20:53

Its just the one leaky boob! It's the slightly larger one of the two... although they have both already grown two sizes and am an E!! Its happened three times now that I've woken up with a little patch on pyjama top over one boob!!!

Kbaby, have you done the HC test re sex of baby?

I'm finding it too hard to get comfy in bed at night at the mo to feel remotely desirable! Am worried that might end up neglecting DH though, who is used to alot more bedroom action than he is currently getting!

AggiePanther · 02/03/2006 21:14

Good luck with the scans everyone :)
Bumpy ..no leaky boobs yet ...but there is a slight discharge if I squeeze it ..which I dont normally - I just tested it for your sake Grin

AggiePanther · 02/03/2006 21:15

Should have said 'them' not 'it' as I have 2 ..but I only tested 1 Grin

AggiePanther · 02/03/2006 21:17

Mind you ..perhaps if I wore pyjamas I'd notice ...they may be leaking surrepticiously Shock

bumpybel · 02/03/2006 21:24

Ha! Just LOL at Aggie attempting boob experiment on my behalf!!!! Thanks chick! Grin

AggiePanther · 02/03/2006 21:34

You're welcome ...just had to explain to DP then ..so I said bumpybel has a leaky boob..so he says 'what leaky as in from the nipple or leaky as in punctured?' FFS!! so I'm wetting myself and he says 'what?? I thought she might have rolled over onto something sharp!!' Honestly sometimes!

bumpybel · 02/03/2006 21:42

LOL big time!!! ... Must remember not to roll onto anything sharp!!!! My Dh was filled with horror when he saw it the first time! He assumed it was milk and that it was to do with the size of them! We've now got over the milking stool and pail jokes and he now just casually says "leaking again?" when he spots the familiar tell tale patch!
