Morning ladies

Excellent, a new thread. Have steam coming out of my ears because DD hs done yet another poo in her pants while upstairs with DH. So DH brings her downstairs and clears off upstairs and leaves me to sort it. Can't bring myself to speak to either of them wicked mother that I am. GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Have put on a stone by the way so deffo whale like proportions being as though only 5ft.

Getting fed up of this cough and wetting myself constantly. Looked at Tena Lady yesterday but far too expensive-cheaper to use a panty liner and keep washing clothes.

My cat was fine when DD came along, thought he would leave home. Will see how he copes with DD2.

Deep breaths and bye for now. Oh, and good luck for all of you having scans this week and yes, you do need to know the sex.

xxx

Evening ladies, been away since friday so lots to catch up on...sorry if I missed anyone's news..Congrats kayzed on your girl and HC on your results. Pink dolly yes my 'bits' are very painful ...feels like i've been kicked sometimes and def worse after walking...sounds the same as what you have..consultant has put me on cocodamol 4 times a day which is helping loads. Sorry to hear about your sciatica jersey and puddycat..lots of sympathy here.
Am v excited about my scan tomorrow morning..will be straight back here to let you know the results

Wallace · 26/02/2006 19:49

AP - sounds sore - you have my sympathy! Good luck with your scan

I still haven't had my AFP results back - got my blood taken two weeks ago last wednesday. I'm presuming no news is good news, but I had better try to find out!

jom · 26/02/2006 19:59

Entropy - the cat thing. Didn't have any real probs with the cats when DS arrived on the scene. Ours are indoor cats and don't go out at all (and as you said our babies) and I must admit I was getting really sick of our families in particular telling us how careful we'd have to be re safety issues such as one of the cats hoping in the cot and smothering the baby. We were very vigilent in always keeping the door closed when he was sleeping and just being very aware where they were and never had a problem in that way. One of them (the female one again) did lose the fur off her ears about a week after DS arrived and the vet said it was probably due to the stress of the arrival of DS but it soon sorted itself out in a couple of weeks. They didn't like it when he cried as a newborn and used to come up to me as if to tell me he was crying and to do something about it.
Initially they were very interested in him and used to come and lay near him when he was laying on the floor but now are more wary as his 'cuddles' are a bit too energetic for them (He's 28 months old)

It'll be interesting to see how they cope second time round. Sorry to bore you all with more cat talk. No more, I promise!

Straightforward · 27/02/2006 10:52

Hello girls!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Thinking of you AggieP - don't know what time your scan is, but can't wait to read about it!

Went to the West Sussex MN meet up on Friday. I was really nervous cos I thought I'd just be sitting there on my own, but 2 others came. It was good to meet them, but their kids were much younger than dd, so I was pleased when we also bumped into a little girl she plays with sometimes in the park. Ended up talking to her parents rather more than the MNers Blush as dd was playing with the child and falling in love with the dad!!

On the dog/cat front, we're looking after a friend's spaniel this week, but I'd forgotten that the already unpleasant activity of poop scooping is made a load worse by pregnancy super sense of smell (bleeuurk!) It's nice to have him around, but it's made dh desperate for a dog (again). No no no no no!! (I'm the one who ends up walking the dog with a reluctant dd and a bump through the cold and rain...)

Straightforward · 27/02/2006 10:53

Just like to stress that it was dd who was falling in love with the girls dad, not me....

AggiePanther · 27/02/2006 13:40

Hi all, well I went for my scan ...everything looks fine..all the bits in the right places :)
The radiographer said it was really difficult to see but she thinks we're having a girl ...said she was 75% sure ...so I'm not sure what to do now..75% isn't certain enough for me to go out and buy pink things yet...whaddya reckon?

Wallace · 27/02/2006 14:10

Thats good that everything is fine. If I were you I would buy a few girly things, but not go over the top!

Glad your scan went well aggie. I think i'll be one of the few who won't know what they're having.Thats Scotland for you.I have never known what i'm having so don't suppose it matters,Dp would't want to know anyway so i'd have to keep it a secret from him and i have a huge mouth so not a good idea lol

Thanks all of you :)
Not sure about 'sensing' I've been convinced that this was a boy ...am having to get my head round it being a girl...perfectly happy about it - just glad everything's ok- am just having to shift the way I think IYKWIM ...even been calling it Alfie up to today.

monkeychops · 27/02/2006 16:59

hello all of you, gosh I haven't been on mn for ages... anyway I had my 20 week scan today and all seems well and we are expecting a girl! Dh and I are so pleased as we have a ds already! You are the 1st to be told because for various reasons we may keep the family in suspense for a bit (particularly my sister who for some reason said that she certainly wouldn't find out when it's her turn - but is such a curious and inpatient person!) - cheeky I know but why not!

AggiePanther · 27/02/2006 17:01

Yes kayzed, she's nearly 11. I felt much sicker this time than I remember being with DD which is probably one of the reasons why I though it was a boy. I'm sure there was a thread on here about people being told they were having a girl and then having a boy ...I guess if they can see 'boy bits' on a scan then its pretty definite, but if they don't then it could be that it's a girl or it could just be that the bits are tucked away! :)

AggiePanther · 27/02/2006 17:02

Congrats monkeychops!

monkeychops · 27/02/2006 17:03

Now I know why I am having such a different and often unpleasant pregnancy...

I haven't been on for so long that it would probably take me 2 weeks to catch up!

Hope you are all well. I see some are finding out the sex... x

Monkeychops - did the radiographer say how sure she was that it was a girl? (As you can see from the thread, mine has left me in a confuzled situation)

Wallace · 27/02/2006 17:19

Congratulations monkeychops on your girl :)

I finally managed to chase up my AFP results, which are thankfully normal. Can't believe ow long it took - 19 days! And I still wouldn't know if I hadn't phoned because the letter is being posted out today.

agalch - you are in scotland too? Did your AFP results take ages. Mine were sent to Glasgow. BTW we won't be able to find out the sex either, they won't tell. They don't even do a 20 week scan routinely here. I will be peeking when I have my scan though (a week today!)Grin

AggiePanther · 27/02/2006 17:26

Glad to hear your results are normal Wallace :)

bumpybel · 27/02/2006 18:05

Hello all!

Congrats to everyone re results and scans etc Smile Do you tend to feel worse then in pregnancy if you are having a girl? They dont tell you at my hosp.. and i didnt want to know anyway, but it doesnt stop me being curious!

We had dsd and dss on the weekend. I was just beginning to thing that dsd(age 13) was ok with the idea, but she has told her mother that she is still upset about it and the idea of her nan helping to look after the baby when i go back to work. (This is likely to be evil ex stirring things up too, but resulted in dh receiving abusive messages last night from evil ex that we were selfish talking about the baby infront of dsd, knowing she was upset). It made me quite down. I know it might be a shock if your father has a child with someone else, but we have really enforced to them that they will be involved and will be really important. It's not as if i can hide it from dsd with the bump that s growing at the moment! Dss on the other hand (age9) has been sooo lovely and sweet and helpful. He has been thinking of names and planning all sorts for us! ... Sorry for that outburst girls.. just needed to vent. I feel so excited to be having this baby and it really p*sses me off that I'm expected to hide what i'm feeling, to avoid causing any upset. Dsd didnt say anything to us about being upset this weekend and seemed to be very relaxed and happy. The trouble only seems to start when she goes back to her mothers... rant rant rant.. sorry!!!Blush

On a lighter note... my boobs have not leaked again since the last installment, although i'm stil doing surrepticious (spelling?!)checks throughout the day!

OldieMum · 27/02/2006 18:47

We had the 20-week scan today. All is well. I was very relieved, as I could not quite believe it would be (for those of you who don't know, it took us 6 cycles of IVF to get DD, then we tried three times more to get a second child. We were unsuccessful, but then conceived naturally). I am so used to failure, I almost expect it, despite our huge good luck in getting DD and now this baby. It's a boy - absolutely no doubt about it, either!
