Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

dairy that does sound awful... and so annoying that you are getting to the same stage each time and then nothing comes of it. Hope today is the day!

Special looking forward to your news :)

fireflies hope you and your gaviscon slept well! And that the council are sympathetic to your contractions story..!

mammado and dairy the beach gives me issues too... I was at uni in St Andrews which has a lovely beach which was great to walk along and blow the cobwebs away when I was stressed.... but it's usually grey and cloudy and windy and I don't think that's what I'm supposed to be envisaging!

mammado hope you d&v has dissipated - I stuck to the marmite toast yesterday after my interesting night!!

DH and I went on our weekend "routemarch" around the reservoirs but while this ended in exciting pains in the evening it was clearly just overdoing the exercise pain and nothing else. Had a lovely chat with my brother when we got back though who was phoning via satellite from underneath a starry Afghan sky :)

Waiting for the roof man.......! He said he'd start today so have been up ready for him since 8................. oooooh just seen his van go past....... my excitement knows no bounds now!!!! Wooohoooo!!

StarlightWithAsteroid · 18/06/2012 10:03

Good luck DN!

Thinking of you.

justwantcheese · 18/06/2012 10:09

hi all,

lovely sunny day here.should be putting washing out and nesting but can't quite get my bottom away fron the computer. does internet shopping count as nesting?

*mammabump hope the d &v has settled, nothing worse than being pregnant and being ill. could be a good sign of body clearing out in preparation.

specialgood luck today with the section, looking forward to photos on facebook

100ffslight contractions sound good,do you think it's close? i havent tried evening primrose oil or acupuncture. i have no transport apart from sunday when i did the food shop at morrisons. i haven't really tried anything apart from pineapple and vigourous hoovering!

I had a sweep but that did nothing at all

mckayz hope you're feeling ok today and lo is having a good wriggle.

dairy sorry you're having such a crap time, wish these midwifes could be a bit more compassionate and keep you in, a 2 hour round trip is unfair and i think your contractions are enough to keep you in.

i hope you have a better day today and can rest a little.

2 to 3 days to go ! please hurry up!

DairyNips · 18/06/2012 10:18

Ok so I've had a run of 5 mins apart, feeling sick from the pain do called hosp and they said I can go in. I hope they don't slow again. I just hope in dilated enough for them to keep me there once I get down there. Wish me luck!

StarlightWithAsteroid · 18/06/2012 10:20

Oh good DN. don't 'wonder if this is it', believe that it is and get into the 'zone'.

Good luck. Bet you're 6cm when you get there, but if not, bet it still only takes a couple of hours at most.

gwenniebee · 18/06/2012 10:22

Good luck dairy :)

Kveta · 18/06/2012 10:22

good luck Dairy
you can always insist on being kept in, cry and wail at them, as you must be beyond exhausted by now.

look forward to seeing photos of your lovely new DS later today! :)

McKayz · 18/06/2012 10:23

Good luck Dairy I hope this is finally it for you and they let you stay in.

I've been playing football at the park with DS2. Surely that has to help labour start. We're about to go and see the Olympic torch. Very exciting stuff. Grin

McKayz · 18/06/2012 13:00

Owwwwwwwwwwww.

I am not sure this is actually labour but we've been to see the Olympic torch, so stood about for a while and then walked home.

It doesn't feel like contractions but loads of back pain and a bit of pressure. Maybe it she is moving down.

Shelduck · 18/06/2012 16:26

Quickie from me to say that my little shelduckling has hatched!

Baby boy, Daniel, was born 9.38 on Sat morning. 7lb 9oz. it was a bit of a rough ride, partly due to superbitch (agency) mw who was meant to be looking after me in early first stage. But everyone else was fantastic, and we all got there in the end, with a little help from meptid and forceps and some brilliant mws and dr.

Typing one-handed because am enjoying a cuddle with sleeping DS. Both very much healthy and well.

Haven't read any other posts yet, but my love to you all, wherever you are all up to. Smile

Xxx

mammadothebump · 18/06/2012 16:29

Massive congratulations Shelduck. Hope you're recovering well. X

mammadothebump · 18/06/2012 16:32

There's not going to be many of us left on this thread soon! I've been trying to spot any twinges or signs today but not even a hint!

Hope dairy and kayzr are doing ok.

AmethystMoon · 18/06/2012 16:40

Afternoon all
Congratulations shelduck on your little boy, about time we had a few more boys, it might be my appalling memory but we seem to be girl heavy!

rachy thank you for the reassurance with the hypno CDs. Really glad to hear they help, I'm practising every day now Grin

special good luck for today x

dairy really hope it is all happening for you. Your hospital situation has sounded like a nightmare!

mckayz hope you're still going strong?

Memory has expired now, I read all the posts then my brain just empties itself
:(

Spent today eating a cream tea with DP who has the day off :), then I spent far too long weighing up the benefits of which nail buffer to buy in superdrug (according to DP) ....seemed reasonable to me! Then garden centre, now at home with balloon feet raised above my heart to try and get them to deflate!

CathFin · 18/06/2012 17:06

Congrats Shelduck!

I'm still here, due date is Weds, I have period like pain but that has been there for the last few days so I think its just general pressure of baby pressing down when I am out walking that is causing it....

gwenniebee · 18/06/2012 17:19

Congratulations shelduck :) Thanks :)

Dairy hope no news is good news.....

mcK I wonder if your football match has progressed things?!

Amethyst I was just going to settle down with my hypno woman and get myself back in a better mood with her... but DH has just texted to say he's on his way home from work so that would distract me. Tomorrow :)

Roof man has been and gone for today, back on Wednesday. Had yet another phonecall from something to do with insurance just now, with yet another person wanting to come "between 8am and 4pm" and survey the damage, and yet another time I've said "I'm expecting a baby rather soon so if I'm not here...." to which the standard response is "Well, he'll call before he arrives to let you know." I have yet to say what I think, which is, "If I'm in labour, I won't be rushing home to let him in even if he does ring to let me know..." Eejits.

Still, hopefully roof is soon going to be watertight even if insurance company are annoying me!! One day I'll be happy!

justwantcheese · 18/06/2012 17:35

Congratulations shelduck , think dairy will be next , then pink. Then dear god please be me! I will be term+ 13 tomorrow!

emblosion · 18/06/2012 17:59

Congrats Shelduck hope you are recovering well and enjoying lots of cuddles :)

Dairy am thinking of you & waiting for news.

Sending 'baby out' vibes justwantcheese

mammadothebump no signs here either, think baby is nice and comfy in there!

amethyst am jealous of your cream tea, I could just eat one, nom nom!

gwennie glad roof fixing is underway, huzzah!

mckayz did the game of football start anything? If so I may get myself to the park tomorrow, ha ha!

Still feeling a bit rough here, just sickly and exhausted. Have done nothing productive for the last couple of days unless you count sitting in pjamas watching tv! Am very hormonal and weepy too.... Is that a sign of anything?

Kveta · 18/06/2012 18:12

dairy has news :) see the fb page!

McKayz · 18/06/2012 18:20

Congratulations Shelduck!!!!!
