Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

So, once again I was having contractions, they got to every 5 minutes and strong. I was gonna call pils and the hosp then they just stopped 40 mins ago :-( why does my body keep doing this? I'm actually going insane nowSad

McKayz · 16/06/2012 22:35

Oh Dairy that's shit(excuse my language) I can't imagine how frustrating it must be.

OP posts:
DairyNips · 16/06/2012 22:44

Thanks. It is shitSad I keep worrying cause hosp is an hour away and I don't want to set off unless I'm sure but at the same time I'm worried I'll set off too late and not make it in time Confused

StarlightWithAsteroid · 16/06/2012 23:06

I wouldn't call until you were having at least 3 contractions in 10 mins and needed the TENS tbh.

I know I had a hb this time, but last time I was an hour and a quarter away from hospital and waited until every 2 mins and still had a good hour and half at hospital before birth.

MammaTo2boys · 16/06/2012 23:09

Hi all
Dairy that was me exactly one week ago today. I was awake all saturday night, pacing the living room floor. Cx down to 5 minutes apart and painful and then nothing. They would then start again, building up, only to stop again.
The cx continued all day Sunday, then about 6pm I said to DH, my cx are getting worse, I'm going to start timing them. DH no idea I'd been having cx all day. Got them down to 2 minutes apart. Went to hospital. Was admitted at 945 pm. Remained standing through cx. 11pm had the birthing pool made ready but once full, I just had the urge to push. I'd not had any examination so had no idea how dilated I was. Waters broke at 1133 pm and DS born at 1145 pm. No pain relief, no gas and air just gravity and my hypnotherapy relaxing music cd. Sadly had 2nd degree tearing, same place as last time but hey ho, it was quick.
So Dairy don't give up hope, your LO is close.
Hi to everyone and sending out lots of positive birthing vibes.

blondiedollface · 16/06/2012 23:13

Crackers, Fluffy and 1000FF You were all my due date buddies, so Ada and I are sending labour vibes your way and wishing you all the deliveries you want! I honestly never thought I'd be saying 'Happy Due Date' to my 2 day old DD...

Rachy 14th of June was a lovely day to have a baby, congratulations :) Don't worry re:colostrum, we've had to start mixed feeding here as LO has tongue tie and can't quite get my boobs working the way she wants them to, but her latch is good! MW has said as long as she's getting a few drops of colostrum each time it'll do her the world of good.

Dairy, Pink and Cheese Hoping your LO's arrive sooner rather than later for you all Grin everything (except legs) crossed for you.

Don't remember if I've put my birth story here, but the briefest of versions is on fb :)

Good luck all Xx

PinkPanther27 · 16/06/2012 23:31

Just a quick check in as hopefully gonna get some sleep soon. No signs of labour here but thanks for thinking of me.
Dairy fingers crossed its the real thing this time.
Justwantcheese hope alls ok with you?
Great to hear another birth story.
Must sleep now.

DairyNips · 16/06/2012 23:47

Thanks ladiesSmile

I have a history of very fast labour once my contractions are regular, I'm too scared to leave it till 3 in 10 mins! The midwife today said going on previous labours to call when 2 in 10. I was literally just about to call when they stopped. Haven't got a tens.. Just used gas n air last two times. That wasn't because I didn't want any other pain relief though, 1st labour I asked for pethedine but it was too late, 2nd labour I asked for an epidural as the drip was intense, again, too late, was pushing about 10 mins laterConfused

mamma That gives me hope.. ThanksSmile

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 02:44

Been having really strong contractions every 10 mins since I came to bed. Managed to snooze a bit in between, just took some paracetamol to try and take the edge off a bit as they're getting painful.

mammadothebump · 17/06/2012 03:56

Fingers crossed dairy!

Having shocking night. Feel really ill with the worst heartburn yet. 6 gaviscon and been sick and its still there! Also v dodgy tummy so actually thinking want this baby to stay put so I can pull myself together first!

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 04:00

Sorry you're feeling so awful mamma hope you feel better soon..

surfmama · 17/06/2012 04:03

ooooo go dairy. fingers crossed for you. Mamma i know it sounds weird but sitting back on your knees is supposed to help, how horrid.

MammaTo2boys · 17/06/2012 04:13

Morning
Dairy this sounds promising. I've got my fingers x for you.
Mamma sending you feeling better vibes.
DS treating me to 3 hours between feeds tonight instead of one. Might feel a bit more human today. Hope everyone is well xx

10000fireflies · 17/06/2012 04:46

Morning all! Am in the insomnia club so thought I may as well check in with you all properly. I have acid reflux and it?s been too difficult to ignore tonight. Don?t know why it is so bad at this stage. Perhaps dinner was a bit too spicy. It?s continuing to be quite sore even now and I?ve been sitting up for a while. Not as bad as you?re having though Mammabump. Sounds awful.

McKayzr thanks for setting up the new thread and updating the list. Love the thread name Gwennie.

Happy Fathers Day! Here?s hoping to lots of lovely babies today to make their proud Daddies day even more special!

dairy how are those contractions coming along? Is quite a tough situation you?re in with an hours drive to hospital and not being sure whether contractions are established.

Starlight thanks for sharing your birth story. Is good to read at this point. Amazing how quick it was!

Crackers like you, I thought it would be nice if LO put in an appearance just before or even on Fathers Day. Any news? Fluffy? Lovely to hear from you blondie. I have a friend who was due on 15th and she had Csec 2 weeks ago, so now she is in full swing of being a Mummy. Funny how it works out timing wise in the end. By my calcs today is my due date.

Rachy congrats on the arrival of your little girl.

Emblosion have you tried giving those pesky little feet a bit of a poke back? You might be able to encourage them away from your ribs! I have had similar issues. Don?t think it?s worth fretting if you can?t sleep on your LHS though ? I think we are told a rather large load of bs in pregnancy. Or rather, I think it?s nice if you can sleep on your left, but not essential. Oh, your baby is bound to put in an appearance at an inconvenient time such as your big lunch or DH?s interviews!

Knackered? OMG yes!! Have been really perfecting very long afternoon snoozes recently!!

Gwennie did the curry do anything? My NHS ante-natal class instructor asks us not to eat them as they were fed up clearing up after us!! Swiftly contradicted by MW who asked if I?d tried one, along with jumping in DH and having acupuncture. Though I think she doesn?t recommend attempting all 3 at once!! Grin I don?t think I could touch a hot curry right now if you paid me.

V funny to hear you?re all falling asleep to Hypno CDs too. I?ve tried mine in the avo and always wake up at the end!! Sense snoring going on in between!! I think going to classes is the way forward.

Mammato2boys hope your tear is healing well.

Oh, I just looked at the stats list and see quite a few of you are a good bit overdue now? Must be very frustrating. I can?t help wondering if they could change the whole dating thing if 70% are overdue and only 4% on the day.

So, yesterday, I had second of daily monitoring (this is all to do with me being incredibly old, btw!). Was much less traumatic than Friday?s session which included lectures on going over term at my age, (I wasn?t even at week 40 then, and have agreed to induction next week), misdiagnosis of ?unstable lie? of baby and therefore warned of possible need for C-sec. Saw consultant, who said all ok, so that panic over. Also, MWs were weird about whether I had an appt or not, and refused to give me just an exam without a sweep ? saying they were one and same thing, which is absolutely not true. Yesterday was completely different and was able to speak to head of assessment unit as she was there running things. She will look into what was going on Fri, as was really weird/scary day. All monitoring showed things to be fine with baby. She was happy to examine me, and as she was so incredibly gentle and experienced I felt confident to let her do a stretch and sweep. CX now at 2cm, and had some grumbling afterwards, and baby very active for rest of avo/pm, but it?s all calmed down now. Back in to hosp today for more monitoring at some point.

Funny (putting it mildly), that they are only now paying any attention to my comments that I have never felt much in the way of movements. I was struggling with idea of being induced exactly at week 40, but am now relieved to be booked in for Weds. They have worn me down over the months, particularly this past week!

Early morning waves to surf and Mamma22.

Is almost fully light. The birds have started singing and plane coming in now (grrr), so must be time to head back to bed. Looks like it will be a nice day, so hope to be able to enjoy it and not feel grouchy and tired when I get up again.

McKayz · 17/06/2012 07:07

Morning.

Having a bit of a panic here today. Baby doesn't really seem to be moving at all. Just a couple of little wriggles when I prod her.

Going to give it a while and have cold drink etc to see if she starts moving. If not I'll give MW a ring.

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 08:25

Morning allSmile

Hey surf how you doing today

mamma glad ds gave you a bit of an easier night.

FF Sorry the midwives were so strange with youConfused How odd to say an examination and a sweep are the same thing! Totally not on. Hope you got some more sleep..

McKayz Hope all is ok, try not to panick but best to get checked out if in doubt.

Rang hosp at 3.15am about going in but they said contractions still a little spaced out. They said I was free to go in if I wanted but if not in established labour when I got there they would just send me home. Problem was they were quite spaced out but really quite painfulSad Anyway, I said I would wait a while and call back but then they became even further apart do I just went back to bed in the hope of some rest. Carried on getting them whilst I slept at totally random intervals but did get some sleep at least. Have disappeared for nowHmm Honestly, I give up!

McKayz · 17/06/2012 08:28

I just text my mum even though I know she will be asleep and now there is a party in my bump with all sorts of kicks etc

I'm going to keep an eye on it.

OP posts:
DairyNips · 17/06/2012 08:29

McKayz Typical! Yeah just keep an eye.. Smile

McKayz · 17/06/2012 08:36

Mum is going to wake up to a text saying I might have to go to hospital. Ruddy baby. Grin

OP posts:
StarlightWithAsteroid · 17/06/2012 08:41

DN, that's one of the reasons I refused internals. Afaic, I'm in established labour when I say I am, and need pain relief when I say I do regardless of any arbitrary number they 'measure' me at.

McKayz · 17/06/2012 10:40

I think I will ring the hospital. I just feel worried about it as she has moved but it still doesn't feel right. Sad

OP posts:
DairyNips · 17/06/2012 10:46

Better safe than sorry Mckayz hope everything is just fine.

Star if I was going on the pain level of my contractions I would say I was in labour as they are just at the point where I would need gas n air soon. I can't talk through them and the pain seems to radiate in to my fingertips iyswim.

StarlightWithAsteroid · 17/06/2012 11:08

DN do you think your fear of getting to hospital on time is stopping them?

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 11:25

I think it must be having some affect. I keep trying to mentally prepare and stay relaxed but I can't really control thatSad I do want to go and get on with it. Urgh, I'm used to being at the hosp all settled then being induced, this is all new to me.
