Morning!!!

Thought I'd start the new thread with Gwen's title now in case I fill the other one with my moaning.

I'll do the stats at a more normal time of day unless anyone else does it first.

Hey Dairy glad things seem to be moving for you. If I were you I'd just go there for your peace of mind.
McKayz let us know how you get on
I spoke to midwife today and they havd managed to bring induction forward to Tues afternoon- only space they had. So will be writong notes for my Mum on how to use tv, oven etc.....

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 11:42

Hey Pink I would love to just go down to the hosp for my peace of mind but I can't afford to be sent back againSad If they would at least offer to break my waters or something I'd be more willing to go but they just said they'd send me home if I'm not far enough alongSad

gwenniebee · 17/06/2012 11:43

Mammado and McK yep, I reckon it's that CD (is on shelf and can't possibly move myself to look Wink). The ball of golden light is right though... she also witters on about breathing "down to where your baby lies" in a really patronising tone and my LO always decides to beat me up at about that point so my conscious mind comes in thinking "If that's it just lying about chilling out, then what's it going to be like when it's moving?!". Am still persisting with it though (partly as have spent good money on it!!)

McK have just put on fb but hope everything is ok. Am sure it will be but much better to know for certain.

rachy can't remember if I congratulated you or not! Lovely news though Thanks

fireflies Erm... well something got everything moving last night. Not sure if it was curry or coincidence. As I said, I'm pretty used to hot curries as I have a mouth of iron (it's my party trick!!) but last night was ridiculous. I went to bed at about 10.30, then had terrible pain in my bump, but not really cx, wept profusely all over DH who was sweet :) Took more gaviscon... woke at 12.30 with horrific heartburn so got up for a pee and more gaviscon, woke at 1.30 with (tmi, sorry Blush) what my beloved fondly terms "bumwee". The failed to sleep again as repeated this delightful experience more or less on the hour until about 5.30. In between did also start having quite painful cx which felt very different from the braxton hicks I've experienced but which weren't very regular. Everything very painful this morning but cx seem to have died off and I am trying to rehydrate with coke... which I don't know if is a good thing and feels very unhealthy but also nice and sweet......

Dairy I feel for you :( I think I would want to go and see if I could make them keep me, but easy for me to say is hosp is only about 20 mins away and I haven't got anyone but me and DH to worry about. Hope you get some consistency soon!

McKayz · 17/06/2012 12:29

She is of course now wriggling like a mad woman. I've got to stay on the monitor for a bit but all looks good!

I feel like a bit of an idiot though but never mind.

Gwennie same Cd here.. I always find it difficult to visualise the type of beach I'm supposed to be laying onConfused

I do want to just be in the hosp and in labour. Be a lot easier if we didn't need I arrange someone to watch the boys and were closer. Surely it will happen soon!!

McKayz Brilliant that all is okSmile

McKayz · 17/06/2012 15:13

I'm home!!

Apparently I'm having contractions. I can't feel them at all though.

OP posts:
emblosion · 17/06/2012 15:24

McKayz so glad all is well. Definitely better to be safe than sorry, don't feel silly about it. :)

dairy am sending my best 'come on baby' vibes to you, really hope things get moving.

Have taken to resting a cold glass of water on the bump to discourage the feet (or possibly bum!) in ribs situation. This has been effective but has started an almighty wriggling session- have told him to start making his way down and out, ha ha!

Feeling pretty ropey today, sick and tired and headachey. Sorry not to reply to everyone, I can't seem to keep info in my head. Hope you are all ok tho x x

justwantcheese · 17/06/2012 17:00

mckayz glad all is ok , the contractions sound promising for you.
embolism great idea in the ice water trick, I am going to try it and get these toes out of my ribs.

Day term +11 in the baby free house.
Please just one teeny weeny contraction or a show would go down great right now!
[Smile]

mammadothebump · 17/06/2012 17:58

Ooh, exciting mckayz . Glad everything was well with ctg. I was a bit worried yesterday as she definitely felt quieter but soon made up for it at bedtime!

Massive heart burn turned into night long d&v. Initially thought 'great, maybe this is the start of things'. Very soon realised I was just ill! Haven't eaten all day as pretty much scared of all food!

Hope things progress for you dairy. I have issues with the beach, I can never visualise it without dd and dh on it too so its never calm!

SpecialJK · 17/06/2012 18:51

Hi all. mckayz glad LO was ok and moving in the end, they are wee monkeys aren't they?!? It's like they know you've nothing you'd like more than sit in the hospital all afternoon...

dairy I really hope things start properly for you soon. Any chance a local MW could check to see if you've dilated more? I can see how it could be stressful with that hosp journey

So, I've just checked my hospital bags for the last time. Booked in for tomorrow for c-section so need to be at delivery ward for 8am. I won't lie, I'm more than a little apprehensive, shitting myself actually, but looking forward to finally meeting our own little monkey tomorrow.

Watching dirty dancing then off to have a bath to try and chill out.

Wish me luck, and I'll try and post on FB tomorrow with news!!!!

10000fireflies · 17/06/2012 19:44

I went straight back to sleep pretty much this morning and didn?t resurface until 10am. Then had a quick brekkie and off to hosp for more monitoring. All seemed ok in the end, but we were there for two hours as they weren?t sure at times. Some sign of contractions, but very gentle and about 10 mins apart.

Dairy I don?t envy your position at all. There isn?t anyone near the hospital you could camp out with a bit?

McKayz glad panic over and all good with you and LO.

Gwennie you had an exciting night! How are the CXs now?

Emblosion sorry to hear you?re feeling ill today. Hope you?re getting better.

JWC sending you some labour vibes. Grin Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil and/or acupuncture?

Mammabump sorry to hear you?re suffering heart burn too. Is grim, especially when you think it?s gone and then reappears later in pregnancy.

special wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow. Hope you?re having a lovely, restful evening.

We stopped off for a very late lunch on the way home from the hospital today. Was wonderful sitting baking in the sunshine. We had enormous plates of food, and it really wasn?t too expensive for a change. Then we had a 99 whilst walking along the river back to the car?. Only to find a parking ticket had just been slapped on it. Whoops. I did try batting my eyelids at the warden whilst rubbing bump and telling him that we?d been held up by sudden onset of cx, but will have to write directly to the council and see if that works. Chilled out in the garden a bit when we got home until it cooled off.

Back to hosi for more monitoring tomorrow. Hmm Somewhat tempted to just go for induction now, as cost an arm and a leg to get there unless I feel like driving.

Have a good evening everyone! FF xx

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 20:47

What a coincidence, I'm watching Friends whilst contracting and it's the episode where Rachel is telling the baby to GET OUT!Grin

My dh called the mat unit here for advice. They were nice but said that the hosp used to do inductions if people were niggling away etc but now they're really strict. Apparently they only usually let you go in when co reacting 5 mons apart and are oblivious to how far away my town isConfused Having said that they were willing for me to go in when I called last night and my contractions were more like 6-8 mins. It was just the fact that they said they'd send me home again if I wasn't in 'established labour' that made me wait a bit then they tailed off again. I don't have anyone down there I could camp out with unfortunately ...

10000fireflies · 17/06/2012 21:24

dairy I saw that episode yesterday. Funny! Your mat unit are not really helping, are they?! I told my DH about the situation you are in and he was appalled. Really sucks. Must be a common issue because of their catchment area, so wonder why they don't have a better system to help you?

Am enjoying Linley at the mo, and 'looking forward' to more monitoring tomorrow. No sign of any contractions here.

MammaTo2boys · 17/06/2012 21:26

Hi all
McKayz, glad all is now ok, take care
Special Good luck for tomorrow, bet you can't wait to meet your LO. Let us know the flavour as soon as you can and of course picures are a must.
Justwantcheese and Dairy, sending you both lots and lots of labour vibes Grin

Hope everyone is well, take care xx

CathFin · 17/06/2012 21:26

Mammado hope you are feeling better now, horrible being ill and pregnant too!

Dairy hope it all kicks off properly for you soon and you can get yourself to the hospital in time!

Special - good luck for tomorrow!

McKayz - glad everything okay and good to be contracting and not be able to feel it!

No news here - had a quiet day with an oddly subdued and apparently 'poorly' DD. She finally perked up about 4pm. Very unlike her but we had some quality time while DH took DS out.

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 21:48

FF yeah it is pretty annoying. Because i'm classed as 'high risk' (due to the third degree tear I had the first time) I have to be refereed to the hosp an hour away for
anything to do with labour. I've had all my check ups at the unit here and my sweeps but now I'm contracting I can't even pop in for them to check how dilated I am etc. the hospital are equally useless as they think it's no big deal to say 'come in if you want but we'll send you home if you're not far enough along'. Erm yeah but that's an hours journey (and petrol money) each wayAngry

10000fireflies · 17/06/2012 22:09

Can you try and speak to someone more senior tomorrow about all this as it really doesn't make sense DN when you explain your full situation. It sounds a bit of a farce.

The NHS might be free, but the extra costs involved are just amazing. Car parking is a few quid for a couple of hours at mine, £6 for a day. Noticed today if you want to watch TV in room there is a charge for that. If I cab each way, as not 100% sure about driving, the cost is £35 per return. Dread to think how much a cab would cost you though DN.

Wishing everyone heartburn and acid-reflux free nights, sweet dreams and regular contractions!! FF xx

McKayz · 17/06/2012 22:15

Special hope all goes well tomorrow. Can't wait to hear the news!!

Dairy I would also try to speak to someone. An hour is a long time. My MW had to warn me that it takes about 20 minutes by ambulance to the hospital. My friend gave birth on the roadside on the way to the hospital because they wouldn't let her go in.

Hope everyone has good nights. I'm sleeping with my gaviscon.

OP posts:
DairyNips · 17/06/2012 23:23

I suppose I could try speak to someone higher but the midwife at the unit here was pretty certain the hosp have a certain policy and won't stray from that. I keep getting to the point where my contractions are 5 mins apart for a while and I think about calling the hosp then they suddenly start getting further apart until they're not frequent enough for me to call anymoreConfused It's really strange, it's like my body keeps trying to go in to labour then stalling and going back in the opposite direction. I've got to this point at least 4 times in the last few days. It's crazy.

10000fireflies · 17/06/2012 23:29

Nothing to lose by trying. It does not sound good what u r putting up with one way or another.

DairyNips · 17/06/2012 23:32

Yeah I guess. I got dh to call midwife earlier as I just felt emotionally and physically drained. I was losing my focus and doubting my ability to cope with the labour once it gets going. I feel a lot better after my bath, more relaxed and energised. I would just like to be at the point where I'm contracting and at the hosp so I know I'm safe and can get on with it!

ceeej · 18/06/2012 00:12

Best of luck for tomorrow special, looking forward to your news

DN sending your body get on with it vibes

DairyNips · 18/06/2012 01:11

Special Hope tomorrow goes wellSmile

ceej thanks

Off to bed now, wonder what tomorrow will bring.. Pils are on hand to help with the boys in case I get kept awake by contractions through the night and end up knackered again. 2 days till induction and counting, can't come quick enough. Night all x

ffnorm · 18/06/2012 07:32

Good luck for today, special

DN hope something is happening or you can sort out the hosp/travel situation! Must be so anxiety provokingSad

DairyNips · 18/06/2012 08:43

Thanks ffnorm, had contractions through the night which kept waking me. I keep taking paracetamol every 4 hrs which takes the edge off I think. Dh has had to go to work today so he dropped the boys at pils as I'm knackered and still having contractions. I'm just willing them to be more frequent, if they do dh can come home from work and take me to hosp..

How are you today?
