Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

itsMYNutella · 30/06/2012 17:03

How bad a DIL am I? I need a wee and a shower before we go out to dinner tonight.. But the (almost) PIL are in my flat faffing about; we're going over to theirs tomorrow. (There is no real need for the both of them to be here today) I'm sitting on a wall round the corner waiting to hear from DP...

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2012 17:07

Grin at hiding from the inlaws!

I really want a pot noodle for dinner Blush

HoneyMum21 · 30/06/2012 17:21

Nutella- entirely reasonable. I would hide fromm MIL whenever the chance presented itself.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/06/2012 18:02

Thankfully I don't see my MIL that often or I'd spend a lot of time hiding, she's pretty mental tbh lol

ISpyPlumPie · 30/06/2012 18:50

Don't get me started on MIL's - she spent a great deal of my last pregnancy/DS's first weeks fussing, faffing and being generally annoying. Now she's apparently asked DH whether he thinks I should really be driving in my "condition" - wtaf!

Back from the dress fitting - it still looks fine, yay! Just hope bump doesn't have a growth spurt between now and Friday.

Congrats strawberry - how exciting. Still not sure if we'll find out. We didn't last time and it was DH who checked which flavour we'd got at the birth, which was really nice but also would be interesting to see if it feels different when you know. Also was absoultely convinced DS was a boy (and was obviously right Grin) but this time I'm getting a very strong feeling it was a girl. Really don't mind either way but maybe I should find out incase I'm wrong this time and it then seems a bit strange.

MyDaydream · 30/06/2012 19:14

Congratulations strawberry, can't wait to find out but we have over a month to wait. I get the feeling it'll be here in no time.
We rent but it doesn't bother me, I don't set it as throwing money away because it's paying for a roof over my head in a lovely area we could never afford to buy in. DP is very set on buying but I don't really care. The only people I know who own will have to pay their parents a significant cut when they sell, so it's not really like they fully own either.
I noticed how many veins you can now see over my body, my hips pretty much look green. Apparently it's been like this a while now, but my boobs mean I don't see much below them anymore.

Nutella, I'm glad you found some bras. I spent a hopeless shopping trip in Germany looking for DD bras after leaving mine at home once. I was gone for 6 weeks so couldn't do without. Resorted to just getting my mum to post me another in the end.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 30/06/2012 20:07

Thanks very much everyone Grin we travelled straight down to London after the scan to see family but now back home now and exhausted. This was the dress I bought - dress in 3-6 months, it is quite summery but I guess it'll be almost summer and I can use a long sleeved bodysuit and some tights too if it's cold. Where is cookies? hope everything is ok, looking forward to hearing some news.

I got back home to a speeding ticket, argh! 36 in a 30 which is surprising as I never tend to speed, was trying to pin in on dh (I really sound like a delightful wife don't I) but unfortunately he was at work. I might go on the speed awareness course to avoid points.

So glad to hear loads of you are renting, I feel like we're the only ones around here but it's so difficult to buy anyway so I guess not that shocking.

Cookiesandcream06 · 30/06/2012 20:14

Congratulations strawberry!!

I have another girl to add to the thread!! A healthy little girl, and a whole lot more pink stuff!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2012 20:16

Yay Grin exciting news Cookies

I reckon mine will be a boy.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2012 20:16

Is rather than will be Confused

StrawberrytallCAKE · 30/06/2012 20:18

Excellent news Cookies Grin Congratulations!!! Did you cry?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 30/06/2012 20:32

FYI because I don't want any of you to waste your precious pregnant time, dh and I went to watch friends with kids last night and it was possibly the worst film I've ever seen.

ivanapoo · 30/06/2012 21:16

Evening all, back from hols in v hot and lovely France today - sounds like I missed a lot of crazy UK weather...

Can't believe how big some of your bumps are! I'm 16+2 and just look super flabby. My upper tummy (scientific term ahem) seems bigger and my backside is spreading like butter on hot toast. No neat bump for me!

Came back to my 20 week scan date for 19th July, so a bit earlier than expected. I don't think we're going to find out gender, but congrats to those who have (Strawb are you the only one so far?)

And talking of tickets, I've got two parking fines in the past 3 weeks Blush - just being completely stupid and missing signs rather than being cheeky. Do you reckon preggo brain is a good enough excuse to get me off?

Cookiesandcream06 · 30/06/2012 21:42

spotty I was convinced there was going to be a little willy in there! As was everyone on both sides. Just goes to show you never know. I was mega shocked, but no no tears. But a massive stupid giddy grin Grin (maybe as I thought yesss I don't have to paint DDs room as its pink already!)

Bellaboo123 · 30/06/2012 21:52

Congrats cookies and spotty. We've decided to find out and are booked in for next Saturday...can't wait!!!
Although had 5 or 6 people say to me "it's a boy" I ask one women today (total stranger i might add!) why she thought that and she said my aura is more masculine than feminine WTF...! Anyone else had this???

Cookiesandcream06 · 30/06/2012 22:04

ivana after the big celebrationary meal I've just eaten I think I look about 7 months but once I've woken up in the morning it'll be back to flab. This heartburn is going to eat me alive tonight.

My plan to buy 'one pack of blue/pink sleepsuits' failed.. There were too many good deals out there!

There isn't/wasn't one person who thought this little one would be a girl! I got so so many pics from today I can keep looking back through them all.. And definitely three lines there in all pics!

Bellaboo123 · 30/06/2012 22:08

Oooh where we're the best deals...looking to do some shopping next week and notice there are loads of sales on so may as well take advantage!

My belly changes daily...although since Wednesday it's looking more pregnant!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/06/2012 22:17

cookies another girl :)

strawberry I learnt with dd that you can use a white sleep suit instead of a vest and tights for winter, it looks the same and makes bum changes simpler as you can just un popper for it.

kate2boysandabump · 30/06/2012 22:31

WOW!! I go away for 2 weeks and you talk up a storm! You've nearly filled a thread while I've been gone, it's taken me 2 days to catch up on all the chat.

The beginnings of my bump arrived while I was on holiday. Most of my clothes still fit, although trousers are beginning to be a bit of a struggle. I'm trying to hold odd maternity clothes as long as I can. Good job really as there's not much I like, that's also comfortable or will stay up. However I did get 2 wrap dresses from H and M yesterday and they were only £7 each. They're OK for now and should be OK with a cardigan and tights in the cooler months.

I felt my baby move while we were away too. We drove to the ferry in a biblical thunder storm, torrential rain, lightning strikes at the side of the road, green skies, strong winds, the whole thing and my poor baby was bubbling away on my adrenaline.

Congrats Cookies and Strawberry I'm glad you were both pleased with your news. It looks like most people will be finding out, so very few surprises here come December. DH and I will find out, but keep it to ourselves, except for you lovely ladies. You can't tell anyone we know Wink

Brooke and COD so sorry to hear about your work. I'm also out on my ear, I was expecting to finish up the term at the same school, but they rang on the last day of my holiday and said they didn't need me, so I'll try and get some half days, but in the last few weeks of term, there probably won't be much about.

Bubbles Hope you're feeling a bit better, did you go to the doctors and see about going back on your medication?

For those who are teachers and worried about a big drop in pay, your authority may spread your 50% over the remaining weeks of your leave, mine did when I had ds1. Also remember that it's 90% plus SMP and then 50% plus SMP. Make sure you tell them when you plan to start your leave in plenty of time too, I got the letter confirming when my leave started 2 weeks after I'd gone an maternity leave.

I'm going to start knitting this week, now I have extra time on my hands. I'm hoping to make 2 pram blankets, one in a wool mix and one in cotton. It would be nice to know what colours to use, but then I can only knit at home.

Hope everyone I keeping well Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2012 06:44

Welcome back from your holidays Smile hope you've both had a lovely time.

I'm going out to lunch with a friend today which will be nice, if I ever make it, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is on and it causes every small town/village to be gridlocked most of the day!

Dd slept in her big bed all night and didn't fall out, I woke every couple of hours to check on her though Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2012 06:55

Also when I lay down my stomach (uterus?) is really, really hard. Anyone else got this? I don't remember it from dd. I'm 14+3.

pmgkt · 01/07/2012 07:23

Spotty where are you? I'm in fareham so think we might be local....ish. I'm also 14 +3! Bump is coming along which is nice, just a bit reassuring between scans.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2012 07:28

I'm near the Surrey/Sussex border between Haslemere and Midhurst if you know them?

It is nice having a bump but annoying when normal clothes are too small and maternity clothes drown you!

EggsMichelle · 01/07/2012 09:22

I'm so rubbish at keeping up with this thread, it really should be the first one I come to everyday as its lovely to read all you lovely ladies having the same/expecting the same experiences as me!

First, congratulations to all the little girls floating around! I have my scan on 20th July and will also be finding out. We thought my dh's family didn't make girls, but my BIL's girl friend is having a girl so I need to find out too!!! I do love how everyone has their own opinion of what you are having, and they are all so addiment that they are right! My Nan is even knitting blue things in the hope it will turn my little Shrimpy into a boy!

I don't have a bump yet, just a firmer area between my hips (17+4) however the last two mornings iv noticed before I go to the toilet, I have a bump. I'm guessing it's my full bladder pushing my uterus up, but its very nice to see. Sadly after iv had my pee it's gone again, but still a nice "good morning" from Shrimpy.

I haven't felt any movement yet, but at its my first I don't know what I'm looking out for, and I'm sure when it's ready it will kick the shit out of me!!!

olliebob · 01/07/2012 10:15

I am rubbish at writing on this but have been following how everyone is getting on. Although this is my third and should know by now how pregnancy affects me but still reassurring to see i am not alone in tiredness and feeling aches.

Lovely to see what peoples gender scan are showing, we will also be finding out, like i did with the last 2, feel like i have to so can prepare myself plus depending on what sex this baby is means my other 2 might need to switch rooms.
