Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

Hello! waves

FriendofDorothy · 15/06/2012 12:45

Ah here you all are :)

PurplePidjin · 15/06/2012 12:46

So, is anyone going for the "To Daddy From Bump" idea this year? (aimed mostly at my fellow PFB'ers) Wink

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/06/2012 12:59

this is DH's PFB, and i was thinking about it, but dunno if i'll get a chance, we shall see, i might make one this afternoon (or just reward the fabulous father with some nookie on fathers day! lol)

So sorry Dolly and Cherry it sounds truly heartbreaking that she has also left children behind, really feel for you all and hope you and they are getting all the help you need. It might be a bit soon but I found that Cruse really helped when I was young and my dad died, website here - Cruse

I hope people having scans today get on well, and that weekend announcements are positive experiences.

livismum we opted out of the early screening, so we obviously don't have that as a reason to wait. It's tempting though to wait until we hear heartbeat at 16 weeks, but then I think it'd be tempting to wait until 20 week scan to just to be sure. Thing is, I know that even we could, we'd still find another excuse to delay. Just really not wanting to constantly be asked how I am and reminded of how things will change. I know my mum will immediatel think I'll be giving up on my PhD (she did when we got married) and will be all doom and gloom. Sorryfor ranting, just need to get it off my chest!

Willyoudothefandango · 15/06/2012 13:33

Hello all

Didn't post on the last threads so complete newbie, PFB due 22nd after the midwife at my dating scan put me back 5 days (full blown tantrum ensued)!

Just marking my place for a good whinge/stupid question asking session later!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/06/2012 13:38

welcome willy 5 days, oh how mean but at least you got a lovely picture :)

SpottyTeacakes · 15/06/2012 13:39

I'm not looking forward to telling people really but will have to after my scan as I'm struggling to hide it now Confused

Willyoudothefandango · 15/06/2012 13:43

I did and it was lovely because it doesn't feel real until then does it? No matter how much throwing up you've been doing!

I think hormones well and truly took over! I took to my bed like a stroppy teenager for the rest of the day Blush. Wouldn't have been too bad but went from 12+3 to 11+5, back behind the 12 week line! I'm over it now (honest)

ellliebelle · 15/06/2012 14:01

just marking my place :)

kateand2boys · 15/06/2012 14:05

Hi all, booking in to the new thread. I went to the docs yesterday and I had overfilled my bladder before the scan and it was protesting Blush So for those of you who haven't had a scan yet, 2 glasses of coke and 750 ml of water in the hour before the scan is overkill. Feel much better today, still sore over my tummy though.

Spotty HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Sorry you're not having a good day. Maybe there is a surprise planned for later?

Willyou.. welcome to the thread

As for Father's Day, I took my own kids to get cards for DH and forgot to get a card for my own dad Blush have had to go and get one today.

I bought some maternity jeans today, they make me look more pregnant than I really am. I didn't think that was supposed to be the point Hmm

CakeBump · 15/06/2012 14:07

Signing in.... hoping everyone and their little bumps are well and happy :)

I'm only 13 weeks but we had a family party last week and EVERYONE said I was showing already!! OMG I'm going to be huuge.... :)

Should we start a new list? I'm sure lots of people on the old list have wandered off, and it was getting really long and unwieldy.....?

mwahmwah · 15/06/2012 14:12

Scan in 40 minutes, my stomach is in knots! Spewed up all the water I drank to give a clear picture, ho hum!

Mummycox · 15/06/2012 14:13

Happy birthday Spotty Brew as Wine may be off the cards. sincerely hope he has a lovely surprise for you later

Thanks for the new thread

Bubbless · 15/06/2012 14:23

i may be being very stupid, but what is 'to daddy from bump'?
i am very over tired, so sorry if im being silly

willy my scan is next friday and if they move me back even a day i will be grumpy, i think you have a right to hybernate in bed all day!!

when you go for the scan at 12 weeks ish, how full does your bladder realistically need to be?
like.. verge of wetting yourself or just'..hmm, i could pee..'?!

checking into the new thread :))

fathers day is one of those weird occasions, i have a love / hate relationship with my dad and i never know whether to send a card in the post or hand deliver or... eurgh.
too much agro, i always get my mum a card on fathers day saying 'your the best dad' because shes amazing enough to be a mum and a dad ;)

PurplePidjin · 15/06/2012 14:29

Bubbless, you can get Fathers Day cards claiming to be from the unborn baby to your partner. I haven't decided whether i think they're tacky and an abomination to the eyes, or rather cute and i should pop back into town Hmm :o

Willyoudothefandango · 15/06/2012 14:51

Bubbless -Thank you, I thought I was being massively unreasonable (although that is our perogative right now) but glad someone else would be annoyed. Also 5 days closer to xmas, if I miss my turkey I will be super annoyed!

I quite like the bump cards may pop in to look for one tomorrow

I drank 3/4 of a litre and the midwife said it was reeeally full, to the point where she actually used the ultrasound to show DP how massive it was! Don't fill it too full as I had to cough my baby into position, thank god for pelvic floor exercises is all I can say!

Clarella · 15/06/2012 15:00

Happy birthday spotty! Hope you get spoiled later!

Congrats and welcome willyou!

I might make a card though the question of whether DH is a dad yet is a philosophical one DH and I talk about a lot, he tends to think no - my present to him is gritting my teeth, cheering, booing and singing through several hours of football later, DH is particularly keen on the singing part as bump can supposedly hear (sense vibrations) and my yoga teacher says humming (bee breath) is good to do now as then when they're born they recognise the sound and can be calmed by it. DH applies the same theory to football chants.

I drank far too much water and it was bloody painful!

annelid · 15/06/2012 15:11

Had my scan and all is well. Just the one, very active baby. Scan puts me due on the 19th but I'm going to stick with the 20th which was my original EDD.

lauraloo09 · 15/06/2012 15:21

hiya everyone just marking my place :)

dolly so sorry about the mc hope you are being taken care of sending love and hugs x
cherry so sorry to hear about your SIL sending love and prayers to you and your family xx

For those who are thinking of bottle feeding there is a good deal at toys r us for a tommee tippee essential starter kit half price down to £70 i was thinking of getting it but not sure if it is too early yet to buy things like that lol its my wedding anniversary today so heading for a meal wth DH tonight been a while since we have been out without DD so looking forward to it :) shame i cant have one Wine

Bubbless · 15/06/2012 15:30

lauraloo on mothercare in the sale there was an advent (i think?) starter kit for like.. £20! (i think)
im going to check my facts before i post xD

bottles and stuff
for £13.00 (any second time mums on here who can tell me if this is what il need to bottle feed?)

im assuming the one your talking about is very different?

when is it acceptable to start buying stuff like this? id rather spread out the cost!

olliebob · 15/06/2012 15:51

Hi bubbless that bottle set is ok, i already have 2 children but you will need lots more bottles than 4 in total and the small bottles will only be ok for a short while, month or 2, cos they need more in bottle as older. Plus if you think most feed at least every 4 hours that is a total of 6 in a day so i tend to have 8 bottles that way always couple spares for when they are older and loose them on you lol. Hope that has helped a bit.
Cant believe i am 15 weeks tomorrow and still feel completely exhausted, going out tonight hope i stay awake lol
