Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

All you ladies finding out gender is starting to tempt me to find out too now! DH is adamant he wants a surprise tho...

Stacks · 01/07/2012 10:39

I'll be finding out gender hopefully, DH wants to know so we only need to choose one name. I don't mind either way, so we'll go ahead. It'll be a surprise either way, just in July or December! I have no ideas or feelings at all about what I might have, neither has anyone else. I'm looking forward to knowing though, I think it will make it more real.

JoJoB77 · 01/07/2012 10:47

I'm thinking this one is another girl. Based on nothing other than my feelings. I'm going to be patient and wait i think. Besides our hospital doesnt tell u tge sex at the 20 week scan so we'd have to pay private.

PrunellaDeVille · 01/07/2012 12:08

another one just back from holiday and astounded at the amount of chat you lot have got through, the last thread was still active when i left now this one's almost full!

lovely to come back to exciting news of folks finding out what variety they're having. whilst away i've given in to DH's side of the long standing battle of to find out or not - the outcome being it'll be a surprise come December. My only concern is that DH might not be able to make the birth and therefore be told by someone else which seems such a shame. I've always been of the mind - why would anyone not want to find out? still, if it pleases DH i'm happy to wait.

If anyone's planning on going on holiday but hasn't decided where yet i recommend NOT to go to France - it's excrutiating that most of the culinary delights of the country are off limits. we planned the trip ages ago as a wine, cheese and shellfish tour but i just had to sit and watch Sad, lovely holiday though nonetheless Smile

Bubbless · 01/07/2012 12:46

kate- did you enjoy your holiday?! i did go to the doctors and they 'strongly advised' against me going back on my meds, and have offered me councelling..... i was less than impressed seeing as my last councellor told me all of my problems were either made up / bought on myself! i

MyDaydream · 01/07/2012 12:51

I've taken to referring to baby as she in conversation, which annoys DP as to him baby is he! I don't think my body is a good habitat for male sperm, there hasn't been a boy on my mums side for over 100 years, and after reading up on nub theory I think the nub fits in with a baby girl. I think it worries DP because me and my mum are so alike in looks and mannerisms that eventually there'll be three of us all acting the same. I imagine he's going to be very disappointed.
Hope everyone who's just come back had lovely times. I could do with another, I felt so good when I was away in the sun at 6 weeks, would love another week like that.

Bubbless · 01/07/2012 13:58

mydaydream me and DP both call the baby a boy, however when i talk its 'my child' and when he talks its 'our child'... hes less than impressed!

just had a though scary times antenatel classes... when do these things start?! / are they free?!

MyDaydream · 01/07/2012 14:04

I call it our baby when I'm talking to him or when he's in the room, but if he's not there it's my baby.

You get NHS antenatal classes free, but there are private ones through NCT and sometimes other people run them too for a fee. Here NHS ones are 2 classes and I have to call to arrange a place on them, which I've been told I need to do soon, probably now considering how many December babies there seem to be. We (I) thought about NCT but we'd rather put the money to something else and make parent friends through baby groups once baby is actually here. You should be having a midwife appointment soon I'd mention it to her then if she doesn't bring it up just to see what your local trusts rules are.

Barbeasty · 01/07/2012 16:47

I had 3 nhs ones, about 3 months before DD was due, which were free. I think they let you book into the ones for the hospital you're going to.

If you're thinking of NCT ones, have a look on the website for your local branch. I know ours have the dates for the course if due in December on there now. You can work out the price too, based on the hours.

I'm not sure what, if any I'll do this time. DH won't go, so I'd be on my own. I have made some friends with DD, but I am the only one working so I'm not really in their "group" any more.

I'm now about to enjoy watching DH put a small trampoline together for DD. All the reviews online said it was great, so long as you weren't the one putting it together. I can see DD learning some new words this afternoon...

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2012 16:56

I think I had about six nhs antenatal classes but only managed half of them before dd was born Hmm

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/07/2012 18:34

I did about 3 classes with dd , I can't remember doing any with D'S and won't bother this time tbh I know how the baby will come out and how I deal with it. I also have a lot of friends in the area thanks to the other dcs being at school, I'll make more friends at baby groups I'm sure!

Jealous of the holidays, we're booked to go to Dubai in oct half term, I will be 32 weeks and I'm slightly worried I won't be able to go.

Had a good afternoon at the kids school fair helping out on the stalls, I can't understand how tiring 3 hrs of sitting down was!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 01/07/2012 19:04

Stacey thanks for the sleepsuit idea, will definitely do that, babies aren't that comfy in tights really either so would be much more comfy for my little girl (eeek). I am jealous of Dubai in October, we were there last October and it was just brilliant.

I didn't do NCT last time round and really regretted it because people seem to always keep in touch with their NCT friends. I might sign us up to a refresher course and see if we can make some new friends.

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 19:39

Crikey, i pop up to the inlaws overnight and can't keep up!!

I'm drawn to girl things, but no idea. Small Nephew is convinced he's getting a boy cousin though. He's nearly 5 and very much enjoyed being the first person to read the baby a story today

I managed to go arse first down MIL's stairs this afternoon so will only be sitting on soft surfaces for the next few days. Have felt lots of wriggles since so I think most of the damage was to my ego. Just goes to show how much our centres of gravity are shifting - I'm barely showing! Be careful, everyone...

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2012 19:43

I fell over loads when pregnant before, I remember slipping in the bathroom when I was naked and it hurt so much I just sat there and cried! I was all on my own too!

Hope your bum isn't too sore!

acjfluff · 01/07/2012 20:44

Ooh Pidjin glad u landed on your bum!! I'm unsteady on my feet at the best of times and am being super careful!

Congratulations those who've found out the sex, my scan is on the 20th and we'll find out. I've been convinced all along it's a boy but I'll be happy either way. Originally fancied a surprise. I can't remember but I think I might have a scan buddy on here?

We took the baby to its 1st concert last night, Stone Roses and was really good. I was a bit worried about standing etc and DP was on super protective mode. Started to relax when I saw 2 very heavily pregnant ladies. I think I over did it a bit as I've had ligament twinges all day but have had my feet up and feel fine now.

Clarella · 01/07/2012 20:53

Ouch pidg - is your leg better now from the infection? yes been surprised at occasional balance issues!

Huge congratulations on your girlies ladies! I did wonder about the white lines on your 12 wk scan strawb! Call mine boy and he all the time now - too convinced from scan pic, so think will find out.

Glad you had good hols kate and prune! The electrical storm confirmed that I was definately feeling kicks as my wee one also went crazy!

Soooo made up this afternoon as DH actually felt the baby kick. I never feel it on my bladder just near my skin. It's weird.

Note to self: do not discuss prams with the rose hating neighbours!

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 21:04

Yes, the leg is pretty much healed. I was actually wearing the bloody support tights when my feet went - lovely MIL relaxed her no shoes in the house rule for me (i was up and down as we were clearing out her loft!)

PidjChick enjoyed rock and blues at yoythie the other day, Ckarelka,

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 21:08

Try again, bloody touchscreen!

PidjChick enjoyed rock and blues at youthie the other day, Clarella, and likes the taste of watermelon! I think we're the furthest along??? I can't wait for dp to get to feel it, he's into his martial arts and football so is excited about our "little boxer"!

Clarella · 01/07/2012 21:19

Bubbless, - is it cbt or plain counselling? Don't be afraid to see if you can push for a better level of care if ordinarily counsellors, such as a course of cbt.

Clarella · 01/07/2012 21:25

Oh wow that's brilliant pidg!

I can't wait to go to womad in 4 weeks, baby will definitely hear that! (though trying to work out festival urgent-pregnant-early-morning-pee logistics)

(And sharing a tent with the girls - plus a friends mum and her MIL - will be hard with chickpeas and curry on tap and my windy behind)

itsMYNutella · 01/07/2012 21:38

I felt some definite wriggles last night just after going to bed. Very odd but very definite bubbly sort of wriggling :o
Told DP (who is the sweetest man) who was so pleased he put his hand on my tummy to make the baby go to sleep. He has really warm hands (rubbish at massage but great as a human heat pad) and they definitely make me relax... Who knows :o

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 21:43

I'm helping run a youth music festival in 2 weeks, then off on a music exchange trip with the club 2 weeks later. This will be a rock baby Wink

I've put at least 3 yp off getting upduffed just by mentioning such horrors as varicose veins (they all think I'm about 23, not my actual 30 bless'em!) It's great abstinence training for 16yo's :o

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 21:44

Same here, nutella - dp puts his hands there and sprout goes straight to sleep. Hope it carries on post partum!

Clarella · 01/07/2012 21:44

Tell them about piles ;)

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 21:46

I'm saving the big guns for when I introduce them to my cute snuggly new born and they decide they want one instead of an ipad for Christmas Wink
