Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

Hi bubbless the one I saw includes steriliser, bottle warmer, insulated travel bags, 8 bottles, teats, milk dispensers, bottle brush and a few other bits and pieces xx

Glitterfairys · 15/06/2012 15:58

Hi everyone !!
Hope you are all having a nice Friday afternoon and ready for the weekend Grin
This is my third baby, I've got two boys so I think this one might be a boy too ( would love a girl thoughGrin)
I've got my scan on weds 20th , I've already had a scan as had some slight spotting at 7 weeks . I'm a bit nervous though for the twelve week one and I can't remember being like this with the others .

Happy Birthday Spotty !!!

Bubbless · 15/06/2012 15:59

thanks for the advice olliebob whats the biggest size of bottle i would realistically need? im looking to do both breast and bottle feeding so hopefully my DP can join in!
anyone else REALLY wanting to start buying baby stuff?!

wow, laura that sounds amazing
im going to go virtual shopping now!

olliebob · 15/06/2012 16:13

the biggest bottles are 260 ml and when they are a few months old you tend to need to use these as they are having at least 4-6 ozs each feed, but obviously if you are only using the bottles occasionally you wont need as many as i said before. the little bottles are good but i just think that you might as well start with the 260ml bottles as you do need them at some point. i love looking at all the deals on at the moment but still trying to put off buying stuff at the moment think when i start i wont b able to stop myself lol

HoneyMum21 · 15/06/2012 16:26

Hello all, and Hapy Birthday Spotty
Well, we've had a busy few days. Met the consultant yesterday which i was petrified of but she was SO lovely! I feel so much more positive than i did after meeting my midwife before.
Today we went to Mothercare to look at baby stuff and ended up buying sleep suits in the sale. Blush whoops. However, had minor disagreement with DH - i'm sure this has been covered elsewhere but i;m now totally confused. I thought for at least the first few months baby would tend to live almost exclusively in sleepsuits as their main outfit but DH thought little trousers and tops. Am i being completely unreasonable thinking sleepsuits will be more practical for the beginning or should we be thinking little outfits for days and sleepsuits just for nights?

Bubbless we're looking at combining bottle and expressing so DH can do some of the feeding (although, i suggested i'd cover all the feeding if he sorted all the nappies. He wasn't impressed with that idea!) We've seen an Avent kit on Amazon which has everything we think we'll need except the breast pump for about £120, but i'm planning on shopping around and seeing.
We're def planning on building stuff up over the next few months so we don't have to buy all at once. However, this is first grandchild for both families so grandparents are also getting excited!

Barbeasty · 15/06/2012 16:41

Last time round I got something for fathers' day, but DD was due around then so I was hoping it would be after the birth.

DH hadn't got me anything for mothers' day, and was very embarrassed when his mum gave me a little bunch of roses.

This year I'm giving him what he asked for- an hour or so to himself! I'm going out for an early dinner with my dad and brother, taking DD, and leaving DH to it.

I liked having outfits when DD was very little, but she was born in a heatwave so a loose dress was cooler than sleep suits. Somehow I don't think we'll have that problem this time.

PurplePidjin · 15/06/2012 16:51

I've already picked up some second hand cloth nappies Blush

Honey, I'm assuming that most presents will be clothes and toys (also expecting PFB) because it's easy to choose and not too expensive. You'll need at least vest+sleepsuit, plus other layers depending on the temperature. Afaik babies need one layer more than adults. So if we're in tshirt, jumper and coat, they need vest, tshirt, jumper and coat...

Have reordered so it's in date order.

Scan went really well, all normal. They gave me the nuchal measurement which was normal so we've decided not to wait for the written results (with combined blood test) as should be ok. We're telling people now!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Mummycox · 15/06/2012 18:18

Have wanted fruit salads all week. Today's had a fizzy piece of fruit in it. I now have tummy ache. Ow. I'll stick to chocolate biscuits in the future.

Hello all - adding myself to new list :-) Cannot keep up with you all!

Very sorry to hear your news Dolly and Cherry - thinking of you both.

Am starting to buy a few maternity things but cannot think about baby stuff yet - have no idea what you're supposed to get! Really must read that pile of stuff the midwife gave me....

Also didn't even know bump-to-daddy cards existed until just now and now its too late eeek! do blokes really know about this type of thing? would he realise if i didn't do it?!

oh yes the list:

Just wondering.......................feel free to hormonally beat me with a large stick, how do we feel about a separate stats thread? I'm usually on my phone so tricky for me to copy and paste etc but just thought it might save message space and keep things nice and tidy! (I'm not nesting already, promise!)Grin
