StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/07/2012 21:58

Pidj when I had dd I was 17 and took her into my school (was supposed to be in lower 6th) to show my friends. I put a LOT of kids off having babies for a while by describing the horrors of pregnancy! Lol

Just threw up my dinner, eurgh! Can't wait to get this morning sickness well and Truely out the way!

I think tadpole is a boy and have always referred to it as he, we shall find out in dec!

DP keeps kissing my tummy now baby is moving. Felt it three or four times over the last week. It's really cute, although I told him baby can probably hear too so he shouted "daddy is your favourite" into my belly button.
Just cried at the Spanish football players and their very cute children. I just keep imagining DP being all cute with our baby really soon.

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2012 22:15

Stacey, this is scary enough at 30 - 17 Shock[respect]

Daydream, in the course of clearing stuff out, dp found the little Torino shirt he bought dn years ago and is looking forward to having something to put in it!

FriendofDorothy · 01/07/2012 22:23

I am 16 weeks exactly today and I have to see the midwife tomorrow. I am really worried for some reason that she isn't going to hear a heartbeat or anything. I think I seem to get like this before appointments and get myself all worked up.

I hope everything will be ok but I feel anxious. I keep worrying that it hasn't grown or that my hard bit of belly feels different to yesterday or whatever.

I think I am just anxious as it is my first baby.

Clarella · 01/07/2012 22:30

Friend, I was exactly the same before mine - thinking of you tomorrow x

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/07/2012 22:31

Pidj I'm not sure I quite understood it during my first 2 pregnancies as didn't know/ hadnt experienced loss so didn't panic as much as I do now! Really looking forward to not being the youngest of the parents this time round though (still am in DS's year and I was 19 when I had him) will be 25 this time round and it's definately more scary now (although 2 mc prob had summit to do with that!

Friendof I think it's quite natural to panic, hope you manage to sleep tonight and the midwife can reassure you in the morning. Once you get regular movements it will help you stop worrying.

Yoga teacher (and a woman attending confirmed her own experience) said humming for example the 'omh' constant hum is good as they recognise it when born and it can calm them. The woman said her husband did omh during her first preg and their son always relaxes when his dad does it now.

DH is too embarrassed to omh but hums a random non-tune to my tummy occasionally!

HoneyMum21 · 01/07/2012 23:23

Just taken bump to his first gig - Garbage at Brixton academy. Booked the tickets just before we found out about bump but hope he enjoyed it! DH was very protective of my bump (found out earlier he had phoned the venue to try and change out tickets to sitting and the staff laughed at him!) I still don't think I've felt movement- should I be worried? I'd kinda hoped he'd start dancing tonight.

Friend- try not to worry (easier said than done!) your LO will be happily swimming about in there!

knottyhair · 02/07/2012 05:52

Friend, good luck for today, I think it's normal to worry before each appointment. This is my second and I still do that. Very Envy of all the festival/gig action - enjoy Womad in particular Clarella.

15 weeks today and have my first consultant appt this afternoon. Not really sure what to expect to be honest!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 02/07/2012 06:35

Honey how were garbage? I loved them soooo much had no idea they were still touring. Going to see if I can find them anywhere near me....

Having a rubbish time right now. My sister has fallen out with my husband about some business related thing (and has been swearing at him via text!?!?) and I have now fallen out with my mum as she will continue to see my sister the same but see me less and thinks that's not taking sides. I've had a headache since yesterday morning and I should be really happy but feel like crying constantly. I usually see my family around 3 times a week so not sure what I'm going to do with myself.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 07:23

Strawb that sounds rubbish, I hope you can all make up somehow.

Jealous too of everyone going out and having fun!

Dd had me up at 4:30 this morning such a monster at the moment don't know how I'll cope with two. She's hilarious but so cheeky and says no to everything!

knottyhair · 02/07/2012 08:01

Strawberry, that sounds horrible. I had a big falling out with my sister a few years ago and it was a nightmare at the time but we did manage to salvage a relationship thank goodness, although it's not quite the same and I just know now that I have to avoid certain subjects with her, mainly politics & religion! Hope you can get it sorted. Spotty, hope you can grab a nap later!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 08:03

Oh knotty good luck with the consultant, I'm sure you've said but why are you seeing them?

knottyhair · 02/07/2012 08:07

I'm not completely sure! The midwife just mentioned it at the booking in appt so I assumed it was due to my age, but I've also got an underactive thyroid so it may be that as well Confused?

Clarella · 02/07/2012 08:47

Yes that's probably why knotty. Am sure it will be fine - ask all the questions you can, the second time I was due to see him I got a young doctor instead.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 09:39

Argh! I can't keep my bloody jeans up!! Angry

They're a size too big - I've lost 2 stone since last year - and even a bump band inside isn't enough Sad

EggsMichelle · 02/07/2012 10:25

My sister avoids me two weeks of every month, between starting her period and ovulating, I then get 2wks of nice sister until her next period starts. I got pregnant instantly and she has been trying for 4months. It's very exhausting keeping up with her cycle!

On the positive, I put the first peice of baby furniture up yesterday, a generic but large chest of Ikea draws that should fit everything in, and it's meant iv been able to put away the bags of hand me down clothes we already have!

All these gigs are making me very jealous, iv not got any lined up now, our last one was in May and fear Shrimpy will miss out on musical culture!

Clarella · 02/07/2012 10:42

I've gone off musical radio and with living on/in a building site I'm not in the mood for music and a little worried I should be training its musical tastes now! (he'll have a shock at womad :))

Giggling as the nhs preggo emails sends one to the dad - weeks 19 (my god I could actually be half way now!) Tells the dad to help out and be supportive, DH forwarded it to me saying "its happening ...." - bless he is being fab and I can be a nightmare! It tells him to watch a film of 'dads helping their partners' - talk about nanny state!

FriendofDorothy · 02/07/2012 10:44

EggsMichelle I probably was likey our sister. My sister got pregnant every time she took her knickers off (or so it seemed) and it took me nearly two years to conceive. It was heartbreaking for both of us and the most unbearable pain for me.

I have just had my 16 week appointment with the midwife. Heard a healthy heartbeat which was amazing. All well... next appointment is 20 week scan and I want to find out what flavour baby we are having. Exciting!

itsMYNutella · 02/07/2012 10:45

I wish I went to more gigs, But I haven't seen much on here thats interesting
:(

I think someone else posted about being able to feel a bump or the uterus in the morning before their wee. I rolled onto my back this morning and it was really uncomfortable (felt real pressure on my bladder! - sorry tmi) but I could really feel a little bump sticking up. I've promised DP I'll wake him next time :)

FriendofDorothy · 02/07/2012 10:48

I went to Sark Folk Festival at the weekend. It was amazing although the weather was a bit rubbish and it meant things were quite muddy.

I love festivals :)

Clarella · 02/07/2012 10:53

Actually its alright, when you're getting het up about judgemental neighbours views on roses, prams and the thought of working my absolute hardest in the third trimester (have barely worked and will be back full time, still not the right support ratio for autistic chn in Sept for 2 months with, an unknown new child with behaviour problems and an impending ofsted inspection which DH keeps saying 'they won't come to you' not realising they bloody will now, working about cortisol stress levels in the last 8 weeks being the worst time for baby - serious tears last night) - the video tells him to experience everything she is .... lol!

I suppose at least I will loose my bottom fat pretty quickly.
