Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

My dd1 was due 1st Jan 2010 but was 42+1 when we had her. I was determined to enjoy Christmas so invited DH family round and MIL was going to cook dinner, but I'm a control freak in the kitchen and in the end decided I wanted to do it! Mad I know but I least it was a nice Christmas day.

This time with a dd of 18th dec, I really think we may have shot ourselves in the foot. Family live a few hours journey away so if I'm super pregnant not goint to want to do it, and with a screaming baby with lots of people butting in giving helpful advice, I'm not sure hanging out there for a few days sounds like much fun. I guess we'll make it up as we go along.

Get the impression DH and I gety bored around Easter?!

Oh and by the way absolutely don't watch a film called Bridge to Terribithia when heavily pregnant, I did on boxing day last time and cried uncontrollably for a good few hours!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/06/2012 19:19

Mmm had a BBQ for dinner, yum!

I've started feeling most nauseous in the evening which is rubbish because I have things to do!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 17/06/2012 19:42

cookies it is quite strange that we are having similar pregnancies!! It is killing me when I bend my head down it's like I'm paralysed by the pain.

I found yesterday breathing in karvol, putting a microwavable wheat pack on my face and taking paracetamol helped a lot. I am going to start on that lovely ritual again after my dinner I think as it's starting to get to me again now.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 17/06/2012 19:43

pidjin what is phlebitis? it sounds horrid!

nasara · 17/06/2012 19:45

BBQ mmmm

I need to get the news out at work this week - I chickened out last week as it never felt like the right time - I told one friend - I am hoping she told everyone else! If not, I think I may try the whole slipping it into conversation thing.

PurplePidjin · 17/06/2012 19:51

It's an inflammation of the vein caused by infection - in my case, a small scratch further down my leg. At the moment it's concentrated in my knee making walking bloody hard work!! I spent 4 hours in a+e waiting for them to tell me it was DVT. That was pretty scary.

Nasara, try "I'm sorry if I've been abit flaky recently, I've had really bad morning sickness"

The look of shock on people's faces as it sinks in is a joy to behold

mumtoAG · 17/06/2012 20:44

Purplepidjin, that's not evil, it's genius! (Perhaps evil genius!)

CODwidow · 17/06/2012 21:02

I am also suffering with terrible sinus/head pain. I've needed paracetamol every 4 hrs this weekend just to function.
But on the up side we've managed to do the home stuff this weekend so feeling nice and organised again (bit of a control freak) Blush

gilsbubbles · 17/06/2012 22:44

Looking more like a baby bump than a who ate all the pies bump today:-)

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 06:11

Someone has their scan today, hope it all goes well Smile

Queenofsiburbia · 18/06/2012 08:51

Talking of evil genius (hello all, btw) we managed to persuade PILs to delay their annual two month holiday, where we look after all their animals & their house, so that we can have Christmas lunch cooked for us Grin downside is listening to DH's boring family arguments. Sigh.

Okay, this is a "diamond shoes are too tight" kinda moan but...
Going to ascot this week for first time & was really looking forward to it but nothing fits and I just look fat & blobby in all my clothes (and 99% don't do up over boobs or tum or bum). So now have to try and find an entire outfit hat to toe, in new look. It's royal enclosure too so has to fit the rules.
I have about 50p left for food etc til end of month so even new look looking like the expensive option.
I have years of clothes in my wardrobe and making me so upset I cannot wear anything nice and I look like such a wobbler.

Ok, totally undeserving rant over.

Oh yes and I cannot drink champagne or pimms. Angry

Rant really over now. You can all scorn my pathetic feeling-sorry-for-myself whining [braces self emoticon]

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/06/2012 09:12

Hi everyone, so exctited for my scan this week, hope its not too late for the nuchal tests (will be 14 weeks by dates) but just cant wait to see tadpole!

Well morning sickness is definately decreasing although hasn't gone altogether but ho hum such is life really!

We got our new car which is huge but it's lovely and it's shiny!

Once we've told the kdis about the baby we will be starting to organise the house, and move rooms around so we can start getting the nursery ready, as i have a lot of baby stuff taking up space in my living room right now! lol DS keeps saying, 'you know those things over there, you'll need them when you get a baby' like it's as easy as plucking one off the shelf at tescos, poor little mite, hate keeping things from them but really wanted to wait until the scan, couldn't bare to disappoint them if something happened!

Good luck for scans today :)

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 13:02

Mine's tomorrow! Hope to see a baby Confused prove its not just fat Hmm

knottyhair · 18/06/2012 13:05

Got mine on Weds at 2.45. Quite nervous actually, didn't think I would be. My DS already knows, he's 8 and was really worried about why I was feeling so ill all the time so we decided to tell him early. Good luck to everyone!

PurplePidjin · 18/06/2012 13:06

Have any of my fellow early Decemberers started making stuff yet? I'm halfway through a fluffy teddy pram blanket (pic of first square on profile) and have nearly finished the cardi i started during the footy last night...

livismum · 18/06/2012 13:12

What time is yours spotty mine is 10.45 tomorrow so I won't have long to hang around but I will have to keep a tired DH awake as he will have worked a 12hr night shift tonight! Not really sure what to expect with the nuchal testing (ought to read leaflet!) as only had blood tests with DD's!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2012 13:14

It's at 10:20 but dd has a peads appointment at 9:30 so she has to come with us and her appointment is a mile away from mine so I might have to leave her Confused still, means I have less time to worry!

CODwidow · 18/06/2012 13:46

stacey thank you I've decided steak should be on the menu at least 3 times a week just to boost iron levels of course! Grin

MyDaydream · 18/06/2012 13:57

Sat on the train on the way to my scan. 1 hour to go. Then we're going to make our first purchases straight after.

WeeJo08 · 18/06/2012 14:08

Wow! 6 pages! I looked in on Friday and it was only beginning! Love it :)

Sorry to hear about those who aren't feeling very well, either still with morning sickness/tiredness or whether it's something else. I really hope you feel a bit brighter soon.

Eeeee for those who have scans this week! So exciting Grin I will cross my fingers for obedience and staying still-ness for any nuchal measurements and then lots of bouncing around and showing off for the rest of it! Grin

Am 15 weeks today and feel great...apart from being all hobble-y from the exercise DVD I did last night. It's the Erin O'Brien Pre-Natal Fitness one. I got is as part of a box set of four (the other three are yoga, Pilates and post natal.) So far I've only done the fitness one and bloody hell, it was good! As I said, I'm sore today but I did really enjoy it :) Mind you...I think I would probably have been sore the day after doing that DVD even pre-pregnancy! Blush

PurplePidgin You're a knitter! I just had a look at your photos after you made the comment about making things. I'm a knitter too (though not as advanced as you by the looks of it!) Am finishing a project at the moment (a little moss stitch twisty scarf for a friend) and then I am attempting a baby blanket for a friend who is due in August...might do a project for me simultaneously - GULP! What projects have you got lined up?

Apologies for the long post!

Equimum · 18/06/2012 14:09

Pidgin I taught myself to crochet and am mid way through crocheting a white blanket.
