Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Hattie05 · 17/03/2006 09:51

Lol yes cattyB i meant to say ddno.1 is 3 years old! Blush Thats MY pregnancy brain kicking in already.

What do you mean by stats? Should i cut and paste the list?

mygirllolipop · 17/03/2006 10:26

Welcome hattie and meg, yeah if you cut and paste the list into your post remembering to add yourselves to the list with you EDD.
Well been to Drs today - waste of time. I need to make another apptmnt as it takes so long to fill in the forms, but can't make app 2day as they're updating their systems! Bit disappointed.

cece · 17/03/2006 10:28

Hi everyone,

Not too bad this morning. Still bleeding brown blood but doc has said not to worry about that! Having a lazy day at home - supposed to be at work Wink

cattyB you are right - feel so much better now I know what is causing it - not knowing is so much worse as you imagine all sorts!

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations!

staceym11 · 17/03/2006 10:54

wellcome everyone, well still no sickness, had the fright of my life yest!!! we went to a restaurant and i needed a wee as usual (tmi coming up so be prepared) when i wiped the paper turned red and i panicked, my heart started going and i felt like i was gunna be sick, then i realised the paper was an orange colour so any liquid on it would have turned it red! scared me shitless for a few minutes, i can only imagine how it feels to happen for a long while cece, must be better now you've seen a heartbeat and things!

still no sickness which is lovely but i feel so bloody tired that having problems looking after dd, and dp is working this w/end so might shove baby off with mil to go to town as i need so rest!!!!

CattyB · 17/03/2006 12:18

Glad you are not sicky stacey Envy they say approx 70% women experience nausea and vomiting. You're obviously in the lucky minority. Have you got someone you could have look after your dd? Despite it costing a fortune I put ds#1 to nursery one day a week right through my 2nd pg so I always knew no matter what I would have one day just to laze or snooze and not have to do anything else. Can hardly afford childcare for the 3 of them as it is so don't think I'll be able to repeat the luxury this time once I give up work. The two older ones will be at school come august so hopefully I'll be able to train ds#3 to snooze all afternnon so i can sleep then too - but August's a long way off - just got to get on with it in the meantime Grin

I've still got mainly evening sickness although sitting here feeling yucky as I type. This is a pain as I still need to cook for everyone. Yesterday even the thought of going to the supermarket was horrendious but had to go in as no fruit, milk or bread in the house never mind anything for tea. Ran in bought the bare minimum and ran out again. Don't remember feeling like this in any of my prev pgs - maybe this one is a pink one! Having 3 boys think I would prefer to have another blue one. I would have liked a girl but was actually quite relieved when #3 come out with a willy.

Has anyone else got feelings on what sex their baby is or a preference either way? 1st time round I knew I was carring a boy right from the moment I conceived but was quite worried as I come from a family of girls. Don't have any feelings on the sex of this one as yet - still a bit stunned at expecting so soon after having the last one.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 17/03/2006 12:20

Mower, delighted that your HCG levels are now back on track. Congratulations! Do you know what your actual results were by any chance as mine are low at 4+3 and I would like a comparison. TIA

Tinasan · 17/03/2006 13:46

Hi all,
Had a bit of a scare last night, quite a heavy bleed. Went to the walk-in EPU at the local hospital this morning which was so good - they saw me in 30 mins and gave me a scan, thank goodness everything ok! I saw the baby and it's heart beating, they've also moved my date forward so now I'm due on 31 Oct - hopefully I can still be part of this thread!! I am rather puzzled as this means that I conceived on about day 10/11 of a 28 day cycle - could anyone tell me if this is unusual? I am assuming that the scan date is more accurate than the LMP date?
thanks all and take care!
Tinasan

pinkmagic1 · 17/03/2006 14:44

Think I spoke to soon about the morning sickness! Never suffered at all with DS but was up half last night puking into DS potty! Feel really awful and Ive had to have the day off work. Took DS to nursery and have only just got out of bed.
About the sex CattyB, I also knew straight away I was expecting a boy last time but I'm not so sure this time. So sick I am becoming increasingly concerned it may be twins as both my mother and maternal grandmother have them!

cece · 17/03/2006 15:44

Tinasan

My scan yesterday said I was only 6 weeks not 8 weeks like I thought, which would make conception about 4 days before I got a bfp so I am a bit puzzled too?!

I keep thinking the scan must be wrong!

mygirllolipop · 17/03/2006 15:44

Tinasan glad te bleed was nothing and baby is fine.
Catty - I knew all three were girls before the scans, but this time I don't know (yet) I'm thinking maybe a blue one, but would love another pink one as would DH. I wouldn't know how to clean a bum if it had a willy!

cece · 17/03/2006 15:47

catty I 'knew' dd was a boy all thoufh my pregnancy - even bought blue clothes. Turned out to be a pink one! She looke lovely in her blue car sleepsuit Blush

With ds had no strong feelings either way.

Don't mind what I have this time. (if I get that far) Smile

spinach · 17/03/2006 17:36

HI girls and welcome to all newcomers.
I am exhausted and dont think its normal... i get up, awake for an hour, go back to bed for 2.5hours, get up for 2.5, sleep for three... thats today so far... I wasn't this exhausted first time around. I feel so awful, constant sickness, can't face anything, literally forcing myself to eat. Could this still be effects of a general anasthetic or what?

toadstool · 17/03/2006 19:52

Hi all, nice to see this thread!!! I'm probably due Novembr 8th but haven't had scan etc. Pg 2 (dd is 4). No sickness but plenty of burping (nice). Mild scare now getting scarier about dd's fifth disease/slapped cheek/whatever exactly 2 weeks before I found out I was 4 weeks pg. Had blood test and now it turns out I'm not immune so must have 2nd blood test in a fortnight to rule out infection... except I've got a viral something or other now, so spent day "working from home". DH has been trying to get me to have a scan privately, so we can check everything's OK but I don't think there's much point, as surely all that would be visible at this stage is a pregnancy?

Hattie05 · 17/03/2006 20:40

I so cannot remember anything from first time round. When do you first see midwife? and when can they first hear heartbeat? I am feeling usual nerves and would love to have reassurance - although i have a feeling first appt will be at 12 weeks won't it?

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:04

Hi toadstool, you're probably right, they wont be able to see much at this stage. I'm having a scan monday, I'll be 6+3, i'll let you know what they can see.

I feel seriously awful, anyone else struggling?

pupuce · 17/03/2006 21:12

Spinach that sounds like an awful lot of tiredness.... I would call the GP to see if you are not aneamic !

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:13

do you think? I had emergency surgery 2 weeks ago and lost a litre of blood, but that said they transfused me

pupuce · 17/03/2006 21:15

Well you never know.... I think you ought to be able to ask though... Maybe you would be advised to take an AN supplement?

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:18

I am taking a supplement so i guess that has things covered. people keep telling me its normal to feel this rough when pregnant, but I'm pretty tough, i dont normally get hit for six like this.

pupuce · 17/03/2006 21:19

You sound particularely tired... maybe it's the morning sickness??? still I do wonder....

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:22

i am tired, just want to cry. I feel so sick, i can't eat, cant look after dd, feel so weak and I'm so worried that this is gonna take ages to pass. I hate being ill, such a bad patient.

CattyB · 17/03/2006 21:48

Spinach sorry to hear you sounding so ill. Think that you should go out tomorrow and buy yourself some Spatone (available from Boots and some local chemists). Its a water iron supplement and really excellent at raising haemoglobin. It comes in a box of 28 sachets and costs about £6.50 – expensive (and I know I mentioned it before) but it works. Take two every morning mixed with fruit juice and I can almost guarantee that you will feel better by the end of the week!! Even if you were transfused your body is under major stress from having to heal itself AND support your pregnancy. Eat little and often of whatever takes your fancy. Take time out whenever you can and forget doing anything that isn’t absolutely vital. You need to give yourself time to get over the major surgery and all the associated stress and upheaval.
With loads of healing and positively.

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:51

I'm seeing the doc next wednes, I'll ask about the supplements, I'm really nervous about taking stuff without a doc's approval, although atm, I'm willing to try anything.

CattyB · 17/03/2006 21:57

The GP probably won't even have heard of it but it is a hell of alot gentler and far better absorbed than ferrous sulphate - it won't overload your system or give you constipation (or stinky black iron poo's). One sachet contains 6mg so less than your RDA but far, far better for you than the manufactured stuff they have heard of. Understnd your reluctance but think it may be worth a try esp if you're not eating.

spinach · 17/03/2006 21:58

jst looked it up cattyb, will print off info and take to docs, it says its safe in pregnancy
