Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

No I haven't actually been seen by anyone just spoken to nurse at surgery about it. So no scan booked, she did say to come in if it continued by Thursday. Trouble is I am supposed to be at work tomorrow. Guess if it is still coming on and off today will have to phone in sick and go down to see the GP tomorrow... I have missed getting an appointment today - you have to phine dead on 8.30 as they go so quickly!

It is the midwife surgery this afternoon though - shall I just go and see if I can be seen?

spinach · 15/03/2006 12:11

it might be worth asking if the midwife could phone you to see if a scan could be arranged. I don't think thats unreasonable. I got a scan on this basis in my first pregnancy. Tyr not to worry though, bleeing is so common, and you dont have any pain? just to set you mind at rest, it would help to see someone, and you'd get a clear scan, you're about 8 weeks?

cece · 15/03/2006 12:13

yeah 8 weeks tomorrow.... will phone surgery in a minute an dleave message for mw I think - hoping a scan would ease my worries (or not Sad)

spinach · 15/03/2006 12:13

i think it would help, they should be able to see loads at 8 weeks if they do an internal scan

spinach · 15/03/2006 12:15

gotta go for now, let me know how you get on.

Has mower been around lately?

cece · 15/03/2006 12:19

speak to you later. have phoned and left a message asking her to phone me this afternoon.

CattyB · 15/03/2006 12:38

Cece hope you get to speak to your midwife and go for a scan asap. In edinburgh we have an early pregneany unit to which you can self refer if there are any worries/problems. Do you have anything similar near by? Even if it means a wait you would be reassured.

I feel so luck to not have experienced any bleeding or worries with any of my pregnancies - touch wood. My heart completely goes out to you (and spinach) I don't know how I'd cope.

cece · 15/03/2006 12:58

Hi CattyB,
The mw has phoned and said not to be too concerned as it wasn't quite a threatened miscarriage yet. I have to go to A&E if it gets worse or turns red. Only GP can refer for early scans apparently (not mw) so may go to see her tomorrow if it continues.

Good news is she recommended not going to work on Thurs/Friday! Trouble is I have parent's eve tomorrow so will have to reschedule all my appointments! Sad for next week I guess...

staceym11 · 15/03/2006 13:09

hi everyone!!!!!

i feel very energised today, one of my bfs had her little (well not so little) baby boy this morning!!! 9 lb 6, poor cow!!!! im really excited about my growing bump, but am now getting slightly breathless while walking which isnt good as i dont drive and we will shortly be moving about 40 mins away from my parents house and all our friends so itl be a bit of a journey to get back! but oh well we do what we do!!!

still no sickness, touch wood!!!!! feel odd atm belly hurts down the sides if i pick dd up too quickly and by evening im basically in a coma, but oh well life goes on!!

cece, im sure its nothing to worry about but that never makes it better, if i were you id go to the docs tomo and try and get refered for a scan, if only for piece of mind!!

novis · 15/03/2006 13:27

Hi all and thanks for the welcome from everyone. A little update as to how it's going for me...I was only thinking yesterday morning how I didn't feel so tired (as I did week before) and then 'bosh!' It hit me like a brick in the afternoon...couldn't stop yawning. Went to a mtg and suddenly felt as if I was going to faint. Had to get out of there so fast to get a drink and munch on something. Haven't had that feeling of faintness before but it's not nice! Anyway hope all is well with you all (glad to hear cece is doing okay now).

fatbetty · 15/03/2006 13:51

Just wondering if the benelyn cough syrup works on long haul flights? I'm flying to the States with my two kids in tow on my own.

I talked to my doc's secretary this morning and she said that nothing can be done surgery wise until I'm 20 wks. And even then there is a chance of miscarriage. Just I'll just have to wait, which isn't that big of deal. Rather the baby be healthy.

fatbetty · 15/03/2006 13:54

Just wondering who you guys have told that you are pg? And what were their responses?

I haven't told anybody yet - besides DH. Planning on telling my mom and brothers when I see them over Easter. In-laws are down this weekend and wondering if we should tell them then.

CattyB · 15/03/2006 13:56

great, glad all is working out and extra days off - never a bad thing as long as you can relax and enjoy them.

as for the whole knackered thing well it really is a pain. roll on 2nd trimester. as I said off today and ds1, 2 & 3 all at childminders Grin but rather than sleep or acheive anything I just haven't been motivated to do anything. what a huge waste Sad.

cece could you not turn up just for pn - don't know your class or their parents - but hopefully just doing that wouldn't be too stressful?

staceym glad to hear of another gorgeous addition to the world well done that woman. did she push it our herself?

cece · 15/03/2006 14:27

CattyB

Have just phoned my head and told him I am pg and not coming to work etc etc for next two days. Think he may ask my job share to cover and do the parent's eve! (not sure she will though!) It can be stressful - but can't rememeber which parents I am supposed to be seeing, the list is in school... Or sometimes it is not stressful iyswim!

MeAndMyBoy · 15/03/2006 14:55

Fatbelly, we used Medised for our DS when he was 18mths on a flight to Canada. Definately recommend it. There is another antihistamine begins with F - can't remember the name - that kids can have over the age of 2 that makes them dozy. Available from pharmacy over the counter.
Where are you off to?

mygirllolipop · 15/03/2006 16:24

Hi girls, so far so good today...... (touch wood)

CattyB · 15/03/2006 16:48

Hey fatbelly, Tried medised with ds2 - it made him hyper instead of sleepy!! Piriton may do the trick. Think you may need to try a few to see what works for yours. Brave you flying all the way to the States with two on your own. Hope wheteher you resort to drugging or not the flight is uneventful or at least mostly calm. And that you have a fab time when you get there.

cece fingers crossed you manage to escape the whole thing Wink

mygirllolipop hope the day stays positive

CattyB · 15/03/2006 17:55

Hello, meant to ask if you have all been to see your GP or MW yet? Still not gone and not sure when the best time is. I don't want scanned or any tests done so guess there's not really much point until after 12 weeks?

1st time round I reckon I went to the GP when I was about 6 weeks, 2nd time I went straight to the MW at around 8 weeks, and last time I went to the GP around 10 weeks. Just don't think there's any hurry if all is well. Always had midwife only care and homebirths and anticipate the same this time. Anyone got any thoughts one way or other?

fatbetty · 15/03/2006 18:16

I went to see the GP yesterday, basically to just let them know that I am pregnant and to find out about the surgery situation and some vitamins that I was taking. I think my body had fully realised what was going on after the appointment as the morning sickness started to kick in. Thankfully it's not as bad as it was with DD2. MS started the moment he was conceived!!!! Back is killing me today though.

I'm off to Colorado as that is where I'm originally from. I've done the flight several times with the kids and they are usually good, but it's always handy to have some kind of drug on hand just in case. They usually are good about the flight but DS2 is at that age where he gets really restless fast. Plus having morning sickness on top of it will really wear me down fast. Usually I have Mediced in easy reach.

spinach · 15/03/2006 18:27

I'm seeing the doc next week, but dont see mw till 12 weeks. if i hadnt had a rough start i wouldnt bother seeing anyone till 12 weeks

cece · 15/03/2006 18:52

Hi there, just waiting for a friend to come and babysit. Unfortunately the bleeding is getting worse, so DH is taking me to A&E... Sad

mygirllolipop · 15/03/2006 19:06

Oh cece, hope all is OK and thinking of yu in A&E now (((((((hugs)))))))).
Catty - I'm going to Dr's because I need my thyroid checking (and increasing normally). Also in case anything does go wrong so Dr's know it would be my second loss. But so far so good, nothing to report.

spinach · 15/03/2006 19:32

oh cece I'm so sorry, i hope you're okay. i know how you must be feeling, its a horrible time, I'm thinking of you and your dh. xx
