Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

i want to be a midwife, and after iv had this baby and got them both packed off to school im gunna start studying! then my maternal urges will be overridden by delivering other peoples babies and i wont have to do this all again! lol

i used to wanna be a teacher, but since iv had my dd its babies all the way!

cece · 14/03/2006 10:45

stacey that is funny as it keeps crossing my mind that I would like to retrain to be a midwife!

When I was 18 I started training to be a nurse with a view to then training to be a midwife but I hurt my back lifting a patient and had to drop out....

staceym11 · 14/03/2006 10:49

well im only 19 now! lol so wont be long till im there.

i just think itl be great, my friends look at me like im insane when i tell them!

the other thing is i wanna train to be a breastfeeding promotor or whatever, as i had no help with dd and ended up not breastfeeding, so i wanna help others!!!

am def. gunna breastfeed this time, the little bugger wont get a choice!!! ( dd hated any milk, breastmilk especially!!)

cece · 14/03/2006 10:55

I think it is great for you to have such a fab ambition! I have great admiration for anyone who does their training when they have lo

Cece - I had some bleeding early in my 1st pregnancy - was very worried... The doctor said provided it isn't much and it isn't red there is nothing to worry about. Mine stopped after about 3 days and I then had an eight week scan - everything was okay..

So fingers crossed for you, I'm sure everything will be fine.. Try and rest/relax as much as possible - easy with two little ones in the house - I'm sure!! Grin

cece · 14/03/2006 11:45

Who did you have to see/speak too to get a scan at 8 weeks, as I think (not sure) that it may be starting up again?

twocatsonthebed · 14/03/2006 12:26

Do you have an early pregnancy unit in your area? If you do, you may be able to go there without your doctor sending you. When I had bleeding NHS Direct were able to tell me where in the area I could refer myself (but I was in London then).

cece · 14/03/2006 12:31

Thanks I have just spoken to the tri-age nurse at my GP's surgery. She has told me if the bleeding gets worse or red and/or I get sharp pains I should come straight down to the surgery. Or if it continues as it is till Thursday then they would want to see me.... She said I would get a scan quicker with a doctor's letter from them!

If it is out of hours she said to go straight to A&E...

Going to put ds down for a sleep in a minute and have a rest myself. At the moment it is just the same brown blood on wiping, none on pad, so fingers crossed Smile

spinach · 14/03/2006 12:45

congrats to little mermaid and novis!
Cece, try not to worry, easier said than done i know. Let us know how you are later. xx

cece · 14/03/2006 12:48

thanks spinach.

how are you today?

spinach · 14/03/2006 12:49

i feel awful! not sure if its the after effects of the surgery or just the pregnancy... didnt feel this bad first time around! total exhaustion and constant sickness! i shouldn't moan, at least all is well for now.

cece · 14/03/2006 12:58

Poor you - at least you know it should start wearing off at some point!

spinach · 14/03/2006 12:59

last time it took till around 20 weeks, having started at 7 weeks. this time it started at 3 weeks so it feels a long way off!. going for a lie down, take care, hope you're okay. xxx

awayfromhome · 14/03/2006 13:07

I went to my GP told them what going on, they said I could go and have a scan at the early pregnancy scanning unit at my local hospital. I got an appointment about 1 week after the bleeding...

Also when I had another episode at 15 weeks, I went straight to A&E and they sent me up to the normal pregnancy scanning unit to get checked...

cece · 14/03/2006 13:44

awayfromhome

thanks for that info. knowing you were Ok is giving me hope. Having a quiet rest on sofa watching Friends DVD. Trouble is it is the series where Rachel gets pg! LOL. Perhaps I should watch another one!

mygirllolipop · 14/03/2006 14:08

Hi everyone,
cece - hope you are Ok, everything will be fine.
congrats to little mermaid and novis
I thought I was abnormal having symptoms already, can't remember getting anything til at earliest 6 wks with other 3 kids. So those without symptoms pls don't worry!

HopingCat · 14/03/2006 14:33

Hi,

Mygirl - I think it was you who said you were really hungry. Is it almost all day? I feel like I could eat every hour at work and still eat dinner when I get home. I'm finding as soon as I feel hungry I feel sick, so I won't let myself get hungry! Is this how you feel? Can anyone tell me if eating like this is likely to put a lot of weight on, or do I actually need all this food?

spinach · 14/03/2006 14:35

i always eat if my body says eat, it slows down after a while, and regular eating does seem to help with the sickness. Frankly at the moment i dont care if i double in weight so long as i can control this horrid sickness... obviously the sound and rational advice is to have healthy snacks, am i doing that? no.

mygirllolipop · 14/03/2006 14:37

Yes HC it was me who was/is constanly hungry! With the other kids I couldn't eat, this timea round I can't stop. I too seem hungry every hour and if I don't eat I feel sick. That's my excuse anyway when I put on 4 stones!

HopingCat · 14/03/2006 14:38

Do you think certain foods make the sickness worse? I can't pin it down to anything in particular at the moment.

spinach · 14/03/2006 14:40

what makes me feel sick is totally random, irrational and changes daily! its smells really, i dont need to get as far as tasting something

spinach · 14/03/2006 14:43

off to try eat a lasagne!

HopingCat · 14/03/2006 14:44

I've read that eating before getting out of bed helps. Has anyone tried this, and if so what do you eat that doesn't need either toasting or milk adding to it?

twocatsonthebed · 14/03/2006 14:52

some of my friends swear by ginger biscuits - or (but clearly for later in the day!) ginger tea - just chop some up, pour boiling water over it and add a bit of honey. Nice if you've got a cold too...

mygirllolipop · 14/03/2006 14:59

I haven't noticed any foods making it worse, like spinach said random food, smells, even thoughts of food! I've never tried eating before I get out of bed but assume it would help beause you are still. I find when I feel sick if I stay still, preferably lying down that helps, again prob just my excuse for a lie down!
