lollol, had 1st child c section under GA and it was very scary.2nd was c section too but had epidural, much easier and more enjoyable as got to feed baby, etc. This time im booked in for an elective c section, so Ive been able to let hospital know what I do and dont want.
Dont worry, im sure you will be fine!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 22/02/2006 22:31

Hi Lollol, welcome to the thread
Was hoping for news from Munz, but guess too early eh!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/02/2006 06:16

munz had her baby!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 09:20

Hurrah, congrats to Munz and her new family

Now please can I be next!

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 10:35

Hello, can I crash in from Due Feb thread - it's getting very quiet there.
I'm 5 days overdue, and looking at induction/possible csection on 2 March if nothing happens this week.

I had my 2nd by c section under ga, and if I have another section will have another ga. Hoping for a vbac though!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 11:17

Course you can crash Jas in fact seeing as your here, I'm not going to be next am I, it'll be you!! (probably PoppH actually as being C'd on Monday) Jas I think we both have very chilled out babies!

UniSarah · 23/02/2006 11:21

Good news from Munz then, thats nice. Now all the rest of us can get back to being impatient and playing the waiting game.
The need to clean stuff is kicking in... hum, how long will that last i wonder. Did the kitchen floor yesterday, bath room this morning. Carpenter is up-satirs as I type doing the finishing bits to my new book case/ cupboard. So hopefully I can relax after today with nowt left on the to do list. Tempting to clean the spare room floor as well tho.

Off to fill up the bird feeder.
UniSarah

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 11:24

I've been cleaning for weeks now! getting quite bored of it, but have to stay on top with the homebirth!

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 11:33

No Frizbe - this one's going to wait 'til March, or 'til we get snowed in!
Going to scrub some floors now. I've been ready for weeks, but baby isn't so keen.

Hello everyone, and Yay! Well done Munz! Huge congratulations to you.

Well, I've gone into a cleaning frenzy here too this morning ( most unlike me! ) - I know what you mean about wanting to keep on top of things what with having a homebirth, Friz. I'm sure the MW's arent' that bothered though! And I've just put a beef stew in the oven for tonight, and eaten a bacon, cheese and tomato sauce sandwich. Feeling very restless and unable to sit still ( again, most unlike me! ) - but in all honestly, I'm fully expecting to still be here in a week's time and more. I always said I wanted a March baby anyway - as nearly everyone in my family has a birthday in Feb.

Marne · 23/02/2006 12:34

Big congrats to munz, i wan't my baby only 3 weeks to go.

So who's next?

I have been nesting a bit today, got the moses basket out and put it in our room, sorted out the cot etc...

Got my new changing bag this morning from Vertbaudet, its a bit chav (bright pink) but i like it.

Astrophe · 23/02/2006 14:14

Congrats to you and family Munz!

I finished nesting about a week ago and now the house is a sty again but I couldn't be bothered anymore. I am so tired and so bored!
And could be up to 3 weeks to go yet. NOOOOOO!

COME OUT BABIES!!!!!!

romilly · 23/02/2006 14:44

Such great news about miss munzie!!!! have posted my congrats on various threads to you hun, so you will find them elsewhere. fab news though. remember we were originally the same due date before you got moved earlier, so obviously they know what they are talking about these obs!

thanks for advice on posterior birth astrophe. to be honest i am sort of resigning myself to the fact its going to be long and difficult. saw the m/w this morning and she said that bubbas very happy where she is and shows no sign of shifting. so the acupuncture hasnt worked, but it did seem to help my swollen foot!

vikkiyy - hope you are being careful now - no more slipping. wear some sensible ugly shoes like i am! normally i live in the most impractical vertiginous footwear, but those days are over methinks!

Astrophe · 23/02/2006 15:16

Oh no Romilly - I feel sad for you . Try not to go into it thinking it will be bad. There is still plenty of time for bub to turn...MWs can't predict these things. My DD was not posterior until I went into labour (she was sort of side on until then) and then she turned in 2nd stage. So they can turn at any time! The funny thing was that nobody told me she was posterior during the labour (in hindsight it was obvious from things that were said) and so I sort of thought it was just a normal labour and that everybody had that sort of pain and length. So obviously it wasn't THAT bad. (Not saying it was easy, but that I survived and am back for more!).

IF the baby is posterior when you labour, make sure you and birthing partners really congratulate you for any progress, however small it seems. I remember being SO discouraged by being only 2cm dilated upon arrival at hospital when I thought I was doing so well...and infact I WAS, but needed somebody to tell me so.

Please try and think positive...I feel bad now for having made you pessmistic!

balancingact · 23/02/2006 15:40

Hi Everyone,
I am new on this thread but needed to vent a little bit- i am due on march 20 with #2 (although dd1 came 10 days early) - my last day at work is tomorrow and i was hoping for a nice relaxing 2 days to sort out my desk etc etc. Anyway, something major happened with one of the companies i look after (i am a financial analyst) and today's been all stressful and am getting all fed up. I know it's only 48 more hours and i can put my feet up but just really annoyed today and can't see past the work i need to do till tonight! UGH. SOrry, feelign sorry for myself.

There, i think i feel a bit better

UniSarah · 23/02/2006 16:09

Poor old Balancing act, that a real downer for your last couple of days. I'd go "hurpf" if I were you. Of course you will naturally cope with it superbly and effiently, leaving eveny one with a dazzling impression of your skills so they will be desperate to have you back on what ever terms you chose to dictate in six months time....

May I invite every one to the virtal opening ceromeny for my NEW BOOKCASE. At last, I'm so glad its finished before the baby arrived, I was starting to wonder if it ever would be. I'm now spending a chilled out snowy afternoon listening to
www.vibraphonicfm.co.uk
and gradully transfering books up to the living room. So far we have a shelf of Terry Pratchett, another of assorted SF, one of maps, one of Reference books and oversize and Calvin Hobbs. next up I think will be travel books and poetry.

Come on kid, I'm ready, lets get a move on before the house gets messy again .
UniSarah

RosiePosie · 23/02/2006 17:07

Astrophe and Romilly - funny you should say that Astrophe - no one said a thing about being me being posterior either ( large buay teaching hospital ) and with hindsight it was so obvious, but at the time I thought every labour was like that. If someone had just explained to me what was happening and why that would have made things SO much easier, so you're off to a head start Rom, just with the knowledge you had. I didn't find the pain too horrendous ( no more than normal labour ) - it was just the length of it, and the fact that I didn't have a clue what was going on.

chellebelle · 23/02/2006 17:18

OK - might sound silly but I can't remember for the life of me what labour pains feel like. Have had a couple of sharpish pains across my bump which have then faded and baby has then had a wriggle straight afterwards.

Any advice anyone? I'm a half hour drive from home at the moment.

Marne · 23/02/2006 17:21

Chelle, does it feel like the baby is pushing down? Are the pains close together? When are you due? Maybe your going to have the next march baby!

poppyh · 23/02/2006 17:28

Its funny, i can never remember what labour pains feel like!!Im sure you will know when it gets serious though!!

coppertop · 23/02/2006 17:49

Hello to all the March thread 'joiners'.

Congratulations again to Munz and Mr Munz.

I saw the consultant today and the good news is that the baby is no longer lying crossways so I don't have to go into hospital yet. Yippeeeee! The baby is lying diagonally but for the first time ever its head is lower than its feet. Finally! I have an appointment for a sweep in 3 weeks time if I want/need it.
