chellebelle · 23/02/2006 17:50

Had a couple this morning then nothing then had four or five in the last hour. Not getting closer together or stronger though really. Could just be braxton hicks I guess. As I said I can't remember for the life of me what they feel like - DS is 5 1/2.

Am due 6th March and had home delivery pack delivered this morning.

I have spd belt on so even if baby was pushing down not sure I'd feel that much anyway.

chellebelle · 23/02/2006 17:52

CT - Great news! See all that scrubbing of floors does have a use!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 17:56

Oh trust me chelle belle, after last weeks 4 hr episode I can remember full well what they feel like, you can tell the difference between proper n braxtons!! Hope your ok and haven't gone into labour far away from home tho

Will go and look up munz's pics shortly!

Hi Balancingact, works a sod at times, like unisarah's idea of dealing with it all tho

Rom, glad your accupuncture helped your foot at least, keep on with the all fours and hopefully baby will shift!

Marne quite like the sound of pink change bag, but shall be sticking with free boots one (again!)

Feeling a bit sicky here at the mo.... also rather tired, so early night me thinks, although that's kinda hard, with Flame in labour (feb thread) too! two girls in one day, Jas your bound to be next

balancingact · 23/02/2006 18:14

Hi everyone,
Thanks for support - and sorry for the whinge.
Made myself feel a whole lot better as well by booking a number of reflexology treatments next week. Hurrah!

UniSarah · 23/02/2006 20:55

Marne- PINK , chav pink! Is this a change bag that you never expect dp to carry or what? My dh made it known quite clearly that he would NOT be seen carrying any bag with flowers, cute cartoons or pastel colours. So I picked up a blue and black surfstyle backpack from the market. Its got two big and one small pocket, all waterproofed. This way I won't get stuck with it all the time
UniSarah
dh- has admitted that he has the Bros song "drop the boy" running through his head, wonder what he's so keen to avoid at work tomorrow?

newgirl · 23/02/2006 22:33

I can't believe Munz has had her baby already!!! Crikey its all going on now!! Well done - can't wait to hear his name!

newgirl · 23/02/2006 22:35

cb - sounds like you are on your way!!!! Good luck x

how do you tell your dh that you can't share the same bed as him? i have had this problem the last few weeks, as soon as dh comes to bed i have to get up, i lie there for a while but as sosn as i can hear him breathing i get annoyed and have toget out of bed! i never noticed before just how much he snores it really pees me off

we don't have another bed for him to sleep in so i am stuck with him, not sure how much longer i can do this for, i have to be awake in the day as have to get up to take ds1 to school and then have ds2 at home until 12.50 when he starts nursery, then by the time i get home, its time to pick up ds1 and then half an hour later ds2!

its a miracle that hes not black and blue the amout i have been kicking him and pushing him trying to get him to move to get some quiet. i have told him about his snoring and he got all arsy. i tried avent sleep easy essence and it worked for a couple of nights but now i think that i was just so kanckered that i would have slept through anything.

i am fine until he comes to bed, i am comfy, i am falling asleep, sometimes even aslepp and then he comes to bed and straight away i am wide awake and fidgeting around wanting to get out of bed.

i didn't have this with my last 2, if anythign i could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. is this just a pregnancy thing or have i gone of dh totally?

balancingact · 24/02/2006 07:33

Hi Vickiyumyum,
What about asking your dh to use those drops that they sell nowadays to eliminate snoring? That should help fix it if it's only the breathing that's bothering you.......

InternationalGirl · 24/02/2006 08:08

Does telling DH "I need help to do all these things I need to do" count as nesting?

balancingact - come here to vent away - we completely understand about being fed up and feeling sorry. I am due March 25th and am trying to keep working until next Friday March 3 but yesterday I was sent home by the fabulous ladies who told me I looked like sh*t! and don't come back on Friday either. Still going to do the best I can at work next week but will probably only work 4 days. I think I'm getting so drained because of not sleeping well - spd pain is excruciating - don't even like to lie down anymore.

coppertop - glad to see babe is turned a little and is moving towards head down. Do you have an exercise ball? Maybe a little gentle bouncing would encourage the little one.

Unisarah - congratulations on your new bookcase -I'm hoping for a filing cabinet.

Adding to my 'drained feeling' is that our car is still in the repair shop waiting for parts - no news on when we'll get it back - hope it's back before babe decides 'it's time'. Trying to plan a birthday party for DD2 next weekend - she'll be 6! Might have to rent a car again just to be able to do some shopping!

I have barely thought about the birth itself - been more concerned about what we are doing with our 2 dds when the time comes, making sure babe has what he needs, and counting down the days at work. I'm sure once I finish work I'll be able to relax and focus more although I have been considering I should do some kind of birth plan. Might do that this weekend. Ob/Gyn suggested I should start packing my bag too...

On a more positive note we did rent a car last weekend to go get baby's bed - he is now all set and if he can just wait until we have a car again we're ready.

I've already said this elsewhere, but again, huge congratulations to the Munzie family and welcome to the little man.

Hang in there girls - only a few weeks left, in some cases only days or hours so I'm waiting for more good news of little people's arrivals ...

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 09:13

Hi Int girl, 6 this weekend, coor, does it feel a short or long time? hope you have a great party and hope the car gets sorted v soon.

VYY I've had the unable to sleep with dh prob too, as we really do need a new bed/matress, but are holding off until I've leaked breast milk all over this one {sorry if TMI ladies) so sometimes when I turn over it's like being on the ocean deep! same with him.....on the odd occasion our solution has been him bailing out onto the sofa, or the airbed, would it be worth getting an airbed for the next few weeks?
You can also get the nasal strips to stop the snoring from the chemist now (as per tv ad I've seen) might be worth a go. Doub't you've gone off him, its just pregnancy hormones a plenty

Marne · 24/02/2006 09:52

Good morning girls,

Dh has been sleeping on the sofa for months now, his snoaring is just too loud, he does'nt mind because its better than me pocking him evry 5 mins.

Got my midwife appointment in half an hour, lets hope baby's head is engaged. This is my first appointment after my scan (they thought bump was small) cant wait to tell them how wrong they were (baby is big).

Hope you are all ok, anybody else in labour yet? I'm of to buy pineapple and curry powder, cant wait any longer i want this baby out

vickiyumyum · 24/02/2006 10:38

just woken up! after eventually going to bed at 2.40 a.m and then falling asleep eventually, i slept throught he alarm this mornign and the kids slept as well which means today they are skiving from school! as i'm not rushing around tog et them there, ds1 would have missed enarly half a day by the time he got there.

oh well, i feel much better for having had a decent amount of sleep. suggested dh to sleep on the sofa, but he wasn't happy, he said i should sleep on the sofa as i'm the one moaning i can't get comfy in bed, so will just struggle on for the next few weeks, i don't normally have a problem sleeping, and i'm sure once lo is here i will be falling asleep between feeds without problem.

poppyh · 24/02/2006 10:38

Im SOO excited!!Its DDs 3rd bday and her card got shown on cbeebies!!!Sid read it out!!Check it out at 2.25 her name is Lola!!!
Hope all is good today!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 11:04

Awww PoppyH, that's lovely

VYY, tell dh to get his arse on the sofa, bloomin cheek of it! you need to be comfier than him!

Marne, think I'll be joining you on the get this baby out stuff this weekend, just hate the thought of faffing around with fresh pineapples tho!

Marne · 24/02/2006 13:00

Baby's heads engaged , midwife thinks some of my bleeding ive been having could of been a show, she said baby might be out in the next 2 weeks (not due for 4 weeks).

I think i'm nesting, been in the kitchen making cakes all morning, thats my way of nesting, i dont do cleaning even though i will have to clean up after.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 13:41

Go Marne, Go Marne, hurrah another one on the way maybe we should take bets on how many people can have their babies before me

desperatehousewife · 24/02/2006 13:55

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop my head round the door and say a massive good luck to all of you!

Keep everything (except your legs) crossed!!

DHW
xxxxxxx

Astrophe · 24/02/2006 14:37

I am having shocking sleep too...our bed is crap - way too spft and we both end up in the middle. DH complains I am taking up 'more than half the bed'...yeah? Me and his child! Scoundrel. Actually, our sofa-bed is really comfy...maybe I will move!

VYY-
I know in Aust you can get a nasal spray for snoring that works a treat, but apparently its sort of addictive...still, something might be worth a try for a few weeks.

Last night I made the hottest Thai Beef Salad I've ever made. DH said it was too spicy and then drank some cream to put his mouth out! But I got it down...and all in vain. Still no labour.Doing nipple massage every night and eating a pineapple today (but I did read you would have to eat at least 7 for the chemicals to have any effect so don't know if its worth it really!...Do LOVE pineapple tho )

romilly · 24/02/2006 14:38

Hi DHW - how are you? its so lovely of you to come back and wish us all the best. you are very much not forgotten on this thread. hope things are going ok for you x

vikkiyy - i couldnt agree with friz more! tell your d/h that he goes on the sofa - where's his manners????!!!

well i am managing to do everything v e r y s l o w l y at the moment! i have really slowed up my pace - anyone else not getting much done?!

romilly · 24/02/2006 14:43

lol astrophe - i had that comment a while back too - about taking up more than half the bed, he even started measuring out my half!!!!! mr.rom snores a bit too, but i dont really have a leg to stand on at the moment, as along with the swollen ankles etc. snoring is a new habit i seemed to have picked up too! pots and kettles come to mind.....

Marne · 24/02/2006 14:58

Have you all seen totalyinlove's thread, she's in labour, how exciting! Hope to see her birth announcment soon.

Astrophe · 24/02/2006 15:33

There should be a government scheme to fund new beds for all pregnant women. Shall we start a petition to the MP? (Perhaps HRH Lizzy would be more sympathetic )

Rom-today I have washed the breakfast dishes...and thats it.( Actually - not quite true...I have also eaten a truckload of food ) - so its not just you whos s l o w i n g down!

Hey, does anyone know of a wesite where I can order a sheet set for a toddler bed (its 70cm x 160cm) or somewhere I can order two flat sheets and no fitted sheet?

Marne · 24/02/2006 15:47

Astrophe, vertbaudet do toddler bed sheets.

Getting realy bad pains in my back, and stomache cramps, lets hope its wind and not labour pains.
