Hi everyone!

Thanks for new thread munz! It seems such a long time ago now that we all started - glad some of the angels are appearing now on other threads!

Sign in Sains today said 28th feb for pancakes - so have a practice run today and then more next week yumyum!!

I think I have gone into denial now - I've started house hunting and bought some new sofas today in cream! I did manage a very large lunch though yum! Two new babies near me this week - Ella and Phoebe - gorgeous names! Mums had very easy births - hooray!!

munz · 21/02/2006 17:02

ahy systems go herre - well they can do after thursday night at 6.30 pm as it's not pay day till then! lol.

pancake day is next tues isn't it? Dh likes to have whipped cream and syrup with his - (in the middle)i'm a lemon and sugar sort of a gal myself! lol.

laundry - last thurs apparently the baby was back to back and this today his bum is over on the left hand side, all I've been doing is walking the dogs and sitting on my birthing ball (well exercise ball from argos for £4.00) not v comfy but hey if it's worked!

(ouch at the size of ixles baby!)

best shoot off then can smell dinner burnin - yikes! lol.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 17:04

we had a bit of snow too ll but not enuff to do owt and its all gone now

Astrophe, glad tour went well birthing pool was in last time I gave birth, but wasn't plumbed...so had to go in damn bath! staff were ok there last time, so hope you have a good time with them. Photog's I recommend Field Photography field Can personally recommend them, as tis my mates hubby! but they're reasonably priced, good and nice with it!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 17:08

Munz, fully eng, you'd better not drop before me and that goes for the rest of the thread too!! mind you I've broken 5 nails in two days now, and have a lurvly zit on the end of my nose, so my hormones must be changing right!

Newgirl, hope the cream sofas stand the test of time! leather??

Astrophe · 21/02/2006 17:11

Thanks for reccomendation Friz. Will have a look at that link.

We had some sleet here this morning (is that what its called...really wet pathetic snow?)...just as we got to the park. We didn't stay long!

I'm no good at pancakes...always burn them or else they are soggy in the middle, so don't know if I will bother! Any tips or fool-proof recipes?

BTW, who is Vicky Pollard?

laundrylover · 21/02/2006 17:16

yep that's sleet!
VP is a character on Little Britain so have a look online and you'll find her I'm sure. You have to see her really as I can't describe her without being offensive to young mums!!
Pancakes - flat bottom pan, runny mix and make'em thin. I use a spatula to flip as can't do the tossing thingy!

munz · 21/02/2006 17:20

astophe - OMG little britian it's the worst tv progamme u ever will find! totally unfunny. althou each to his own, I like bottom and cathy berke and not many ppl do! lol.

friz - 5 nails gone! lol. i'll not pop first promise! lol - I'm on a promise with DH we have a date on friday night and I plan on going! lol.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 21/02/2006 17:27

Oh, think I have seen little britain...hubby thought it was hilarious...me not so much! So is she the charactor who always wears trackies and a bad hairdo?

Maybe I will attempt super thin pancakes...they should cook in the middle.

Friz, have added the photography link to favourites and will refer to it when Bub is over the newborn-not-so-cute phase and is looking cute and cuddly!

laundrylover · 21/02/2006 17:27

I agree with you Munz re Little Britain altho I thought the first series was OK I couldn't be bothered with the second. I saw a bit and the naked woman at the spa looks uncannily like me in the buff!!!!

munz · 21/02/2006 17:29

thats the one astophe - I think she's ment to 'represent' the council estate chav type young mum's (althou don't quote me on that and I'm prob wrong)

my brother finds it hilerious, and my aunty and uncle went to see them in the guildhall - my responce is that ment to be funny! (think it's my age! lol)

thin pancakes will cook yep. don't forget ur jif lemon!

OP posts:
romilly · 21/02/2006 18:35

lol laundrylover - im sure you dont look like that in the buff. sorry to hear you are also in the dreaded back-to-back scenario. my little one is not shifting so far, she loves the posterior position and completely ignores me going down on all fours.

astrophe - any special tips for labour with posterior then? did you have to have a c-section, or ventouse or anything?
also, how do you lie forwards on the birthing ball when you have a great big bump squashing in front of you?????? it is impossible!

munz - great news that head is now fully engaged. i reckon you will be early or on time

well, had the hospital tour, and frankly it was a bit of a waste of time - they were so busy that all the birthing rooms were taken (so didnt get to see the birth pools or anything) just saw one basic labour room. think a few hours of zzzzzz's would have been more useful to me at this stage tbh

RosiePosie · 21/02/2006 18:47

Rom, as you know my first labour was posterior. It was prolonged ( 3 days, sorry! ) and progress was very slow. I found being on all fours during contractions most comfortable position, with someone applying pressure to the base of my spine at the peak ( dh pressing down firmly mainly ). Eventually I had a hormone drip set up to get things going and an epidural because I was knackered. Also an episiotomy, but no forceps or ventouse - he turned at the very last minute. I'm not saying this is what's going to happen to you - your baby may well shift into a good position earlier on in labour ( or even before labour ). Fingers crossed he does! I wouldn't say the contractions were any more painful, just concentrated in my back rather than tummy, and it was the length of labour that was the hardest thing.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 21/02/2006 18:49

MUNZ...... You go girl! Not long now..... dont forget to get DH to text me the news... ill give you my number on MSN x

munz · 21/02/2006 19:00

Jarm - ok hon will chat on MSN tomorrow at some point!

rom - with the birthing ball thingy - my M/W said what I had to do was sit on the birthing ball thingy, and baiscally learn towards the coffee table and rest my elbows on it - not sure if it works wiith all positions (she only said that cos i'm doing a jigsaw and using the ball as a seat! lol) but sit back from the tabel and lean over to it.

OP posts:
romilly · 21/02/2006 19:56

thanks for the honest info rosiep - everything you have said about your posterior birth is exactly in line with what my midwife told me to expect. she said the position is very likely to mean it will be a slow labour so to be prepared for that. i guess i really should stop hanging out on MN and get scrubbing floors for the next week.

munzie - i will try the birthing ball thing too, thankyou!

totallyinlove · 21/02/2006 20:03

blimey ladies a lot of chatting been going on!!

well yes all is still intact here. SOOOOOO fed up though. All went well with the midwife yesterday.

Am fed up of dropping stuff today. I've broken a bowl this evening and virtually ended up in tears. I'm getting so clumsy.

Engaged Munz?? YAY!! My baby feels so low. Midwife said it's only 1/5 down but i swear as I'm sat here the babys head is touching the chair! I swear I felt it drop right down earlier! Scared the life out of me!

Birthing balls sound great but the way I am at the moment I think I would be so clumsy I would just fall off it!

Right, am off to eat my tea and watch Holby. See you later girls! x x

vickiyumyum · 21/02/2006 20:29

well i was having a good day today, went to m/w appt and all fine, so went off to take ds2 to nursery, had a craving for a mcd's cheeseburger, which i never eat, so went and got one with a large choccy milkshake!, then went to pick up my new car a lovely shiny vauxhall vectra (dh not happy as he thought i was going to get an audi a4 convertible!!! where does he think we would get the money from i work for the NHS!), went out to check it over, went back into the showroom to sign the paperwork and slipped because my shoes were wet! fell forwards onto my knees and hands, immediatley burst into tears and felt like a complete fool infront of all these male car sales men. they were really nice though, helped me up, took me into a quiet office and brought me a drink of water and offering me tea or coffee, the man i was dealing with wanted to take me to hospital and stay with me until i had the all clear, the manager wanted to call an ambulance. but i was so embarrased, and just wanted to go home.i could feel baby still moving and i hadn't fallen on my stomach so wa sure everything would eb fine.

i am fine now my wrists feel a bit sore, but i came home and went to bed just to lay down and rest, baby moving plenty, listened in with my sonicaid, no bleeding or loss down below, got my mum to pick the kids up from scholl, so didn't hjave to go out. now feel really silly, especially as the salesman turned up with a big bunch of flowers and some chocolates to check that i was ok. i'm sure part of it was to cover their backs, but i think some of it was genuine concern, as had been quite chatty witht eh salesman as he has 4 children and made me feel silly saying how much work i had cut out for me with 3!!!
anyway off to consultants appt tomorrow so will be checked out again! but i'm sure everything is fine.
you all sound so ready and organised, and all very keen to get off the mark, any bets on who will be first???

UniSarah · 21/02/2006 21:14

Sympathy Vicki, hope your bruised bits recover soon , enjoy the flowers its sounds like they are well meant. Glad to hear you've had lots of movement from LO since your fall, they are pretty well protected in there, lots of suspension. I once saw on "Top Gear" a model someone had made of a horse box that could go fast, basicly the horse was suspended in a bungy cradle, reminded me of a baby in the womb. starange but there you go.

UniSarah

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 21:41

Hi all, VickiYY glad you didn't land on baby, phew eh, hope those wrists are ok? its really odd falling over when preggers isn't it, when I tripped up with dd months ago, I spent a good 10 mins in tears, don't know who was more upset dd, myself or my mum, who'd also tried to get in way and stop us all landing in a heap lol looking back!
Very nice of salesman to come round with flowers too, and congrats on your new car

Munz, sorry but I find most of little britain funny.....and ll, sure you don't look like that in the buff

Astrophe, cool re the photog

newgirl · 21/02/2006 21:52

vyy - what a horrid thing to happen! I'm glad you are ok and that the salesmen were so nice to you. Enjoy those chocs!

friz - err sofas are fabric... I think I will get some throws to go on them too!!

byeee

poppyh · 21/02/2006 21:59

Vicky, hope you are ok now honey.
Well, went for midwife appointment, and now realise why sciatica has been bad.Babys head is now engaged!!Ive got to try and make it till monday now as im booked in at 7am for 1st csection.Getting a bit scared about section now and need to clean the house again before I can have this baby!!
Hope everyone else ok

laundrylover · 21/02/2006 22:15

No girls you're right as the Little Britain lady doesn't have huge stretch marks emanating from her belly button!!! I'm a fatty but not that bad - just feel like it sometimes!
VYY - your fall sounds scary. Hope you have had a good hot bath as bet you'll ache tomorrow eh?

munz · 21/02/2006 22:50

ah friz - each to his own hon, I doubt many ppl find ronnie barker funny but I love him! lol!

til - the rate this LO's going u'd think he was clawing his way out already - and to think i've been moaning about lack of movements down there! lol. still no doubt i'll still be here well into march! lol. and as for dropping stuff - erm yes lol - PG womans perogative is that! lol. as is crying after dropping something! lol.

VYY - u go careful as well young lady! lol. glad LO's ok and u of course. least LO's been moving about etc - u never know might start something off tonight??

pop - looks like u'll be our next one then to pop??

and to cap it all off work has told DH he's to go away the second week in march - to sailsbury - 5 hours away, so that means the 2nd week he's away for a week and the 4th week he's on guard for a week i'm soooo peed off witih them right now in camp - althou i've told DH he eitehr tells all and sundry i'll be a week over by then and he's not going or i'm martching to welfare to demand he doesn't go! (v naughty I know but the blokes blinking annoying now he's done this for the past 3 weeks knowing i'm due - telling DH he's got to go away all over the bloody country)

sorry rant over, I know I shouldn't moan as it's his job but it's soo annoying esp cos the guy in question isn't married and doesn't have kids - shall I let the PG hormones loose on him yet girls! lol.

OP posts:
munz · 22/02/2006 08:58

ok girls panicing over here got a prob what do u recon?? (bubba was v quiet over night once i'd got to sleep) not particually active now either every where down there just aches! got up this AM (about 5 mins ago) and had noticeable tummy cramps - assumed was wind as didn't go yesterday. anyhow, couldn't even wait to stand up fully b4 had dribbles - (assumed was peepee as i've been bit lax with pelvic floor) anyhow got a towel and went to the loo, pushed a touch as if to pee and did pee then stopped so wiped - loads and loads of CM so wiped again and there was what can only be described as a clear thick snail trail type of substance .

I know bubba's fully engaged now but I didn't expect to have a show the day after being told he was! when I stand up can feel the pee/fluid coming out - there wasn't much colour to the fluid and no smell.

now I just have aches in my pelvic area - but again could be wind - might try to poopey in a bit, should I ring DH home do u think? his bosses are being real twats right now. shall I ring the m/w I don't wanna look a fool if it was only pee and a slight show but also don't wanna run the risk of anything if it's my waters. iycwim.and to think today I was gonna go for a coffee with a mate - not to mention paydays not till tomorrrow and tesco.com's not coming till friday!

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 22/02/2006 09:04

Munz have posted on other thread to ring midwife to make sure, could be your hindwaters have popped (can you tell I've been spending far too much time on mumsnet!) although VYY might be better for advice on that being qualified n all that!! could just be a show, could be as you say your pelvic floor is lax but if you have slight cramps, you never know, time em and check!

I've woken up too with slight cramping everynow and again, but nothing major, hoping its the start of something, so didn't mention to dh, and booted him out the door to work as usual! or else he'd be sat here panicing now! dd woke up at 6am just to see her daddy......dadddy, daddy, daddy......poor dh, wanted an hours more kip, as one day they're working fairly local! no chance!

Poppy, C-Section Monday get yourself back on that feb thread lass!
