Frizbe · 26/03/2006 11:17

Congrats Jenny!! Grin

Jackstini · 26/03/2006 11:38

Congrats to Jenny & New Girl - well done!
I am still here - 5 days overdue now and feeling a bit like a grumpy hippo with backache!
Tried raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, curry, sex, walking - any other suggestions?!
Due for a sweep on Tuesday so will see if that works.

Will keep following the post-natal thread so I can see how you are all doing and what I have to look forward too Smile

Frizbe · 26/03/2006 11:54

Oh Jackstini Sad hope things kick off for you soon honey {{{Big Hugs}}}

coppertop · 26/03/2006 14:46

Can't believe it's been so long since I had a chance to catch up with this thread!

I had an induction last weekend and dd arrived on 20th March weighing 8lbs 4oz. Dh is still in shock as he was convinced that we were going to have another boy. Dd is already a daddy's girl though. :o

Congratulations to the new arrivals I've missed and good luck to those of you who are still waiting. :)

laundrylover · 26/03/2006 18:03

Congrats Newgirl and Jenny - more big boppers eh??Grin
Still waiting here....
Why won't it come out?????
Jackstini, am feeling much the same as you but also think my waters may be oozing. MW did a test but not conclusive. Maybe the baby will just ooze out overnight!Wink
Walked a few miles today but to no avail. Tilly was up til 4am Shock last night so too tired for sex or even eating a pineapple!!

helencook2711 · 26/03/2006 18:30

Congrats Coppertop, Jenny and Newgirl! Still waiting here too, only 3 days over, DH has had Fri,sat, sun off and he is tapping his foot impatiently! Doesn't help when I'm trying to be laid back about this waiting game! Quite honestly can't be bothered to try any of the mentioned to bring it on this week, will start getting horrendously fed up after this Thurs, and therefore panicking about my Home Birth, reckon they'll go with the 5th to induce if ness fingers crossed it won't come to that!.xx

manicmumtobe · 27/03/2006 12:21

well done all!Think medals deserved all round! seems a bit odd now being one of the few still waiting! Am only a day over so far but dont feel like it will be any time soon yet, trying to enjoy the peace and quiet while I can but couldnt imagine doing a longer walk than 10 mins. Have given up on pinapple, loses its appeal after several! tried pizza covered in chillis etc, no luck, and dp not impressed with trying a bit of the other:) thought it was meant to be the other way roundGrin Will start on raspberry leaf tea now as dont fancy the idea of a sweep, as I am not too keen on the midwife, not that i suppose it makes much difference ..she could be great and i still wouldnt fancy the idea :)
Best of luck to those still waiting....ps my midwife says old wives tale re baby going a bit quieter towards end, but I am definately not getting quite so kicked now, should i be concerned..still getting the odd one but not much, more of a mild rotation on the bum area rather than hands and feet..babys bum not mine:)

helencook2711 · 27/03/2006 12:42

Well manicmum, pleased to be waiting with you! My dd1 def slowed down at the end, but she was never a wriggler anyway and was bigish, this one on the other hand is still very active and smaller-so i suppose your mw could be right!

Frizbe · 27/03/2006 17:21

{{{{Hugs}}}} to those still waiting, remember this was me 3 weeks ago!! when we got down to the last two on the feb thread (although we both popped on the same day!) hope things get moving for you soon girls

UniSarah · 27/03/2006 18:08

Best wishes to the last few.. enjoy the sleep while you can get it. Even with all those night time trips to the loo.

see you on the post natal thread some when in the next couple of weeks.
Unisarah

Jackstini · 28/03/2006 09:17

Congrats to Newgirl Jenny & Coppertop! Glad there are still a few peeps keeping me company on here - hope to be hearing some news from you all soon...
I was due my sweep today but midwife called to cancel as they have some emergencies. Is re-booked for tomorrow.
On the bright side I have had a show this morning (an hour after forcing dh to have sex!!!!!!) Grin Realise it may still be ages until anything else happens but at least it is something.

Frizbe · 28/03/2006 18:34

Hurrah things are on the move for you then Jackstini, shall keep an eye out for your birth posting then Grin hope things kick off for you tonight hon x

Jackstini · 28/03/2006 19:06

No further stages to report yet but - TMI alert - just had some more mucus so still hoping things kick off soon...

Frizbe · 28/03/2006 21:20

oooh fingers x'd for u!

manicmumtobe · 29/03/2006 14:43

thanks for the tip helen, think I am panicking a bit unnecessarily, but after such a kicking for last few weeks seems odd having no proper kicks but still defo some movement...expected more today after i managed to fall over, how embassassing Blush and then nearly did it again 20 mins later, seem to have trouble with twisting my ankle for no good reason. Hoping it might have kick started things today. no damage except pride:) was kinda hoping it might kick start things but no! Got sweep booked for next monday ugh! Hope it doesnt come to that for you Jackstini , sounds promising...
thanks for kind wishes from the others..am gonna go yoga tonight to get the record for most pregnant person to attend, feel like I have a badge of honour there now!
Hope to be on post natal thread soon!

helencook2711 · 29/03/2006 16:09

Hi to all still waiting, no news here-hospital tommorrow with sweep-how lovely, then I suppose I'll get my Induction date?!
Really hope things move on their own, not just because of the Home birth, but REALLY don't want to be induced, personal thing I suppose, but I rather stay pregnant forever than have pesseries, drips, constant monitoring etc!! I'm hoping if the first sweep doesn't work then they may offer another? Keep you informed, best of luck all!

RosiePosie · 29/03/2006 16:56

Helen, they can only offer you an induction - you can decline it if you wish. That may not be how they put it - they'll probably make it sound like you have no choice, but you do. I had a homebirth ( my second ) and I'd made up my mind to refuse standard induction. You can just decline, or if it puts your mind at rest, you can ask to be monitored regularly. If a woman goes over 42 weeks, doesn't want to be induced, it is quite common to go into the hospital every 2 or 3 days to monitor the baby and make sure it's happy. They just don't tell you that Wink - good luck with whatever you decide.

helencook2711 · 29/03/2006 19:21

Thanks RosiePosie for the advice-it's very welcome as I was feeling a bit nervous about tommorrow-I don't want to sound to them like i'm digging my heels in about the Home Birth, so I'll just be polite about it! Fingers Crossed.

newgirl · 29/03/2006 19:33

Hi everyone! I'm still checking in to see how you are all getting on! Thanks for all good wishes!

Helen - you can have a couple of sweeps if you like because they are more effective when baby moves down, or something like that. And Rp is right - you can wait and wait and be monitored often, even dropping into the post-natal clinics where there are midwives there to listen in. Sweeps and pessaries are not uncomfy and don't bring on extra-strong contractions so don't be too worried about them - the drip also gets increased slowly so was not 'full-on' when I had one, to give your body as many chances as possible to get going of its own accord. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Back soon to see how you are all getting on !

This thread has been fantastic - I've really enjoyed it - thank you feb and march mums and mums to be x

laundrylover · 29/03/2006 20:08
