thanks jersey, helencook, jackstini, rosiep, and friz Smile

helen - loved your post, as you say, i am just going to enjoy it, who cares about night or day!

jersey - you are v. sweet to come and find me! how are things going for you, and how many weeks are you now?

we are still mulling things over on the name front, so she is baby norma no name at the moment! will let you know v. soon!

UniSarah · 22/03/2006 19:07

L-lover- LOL at your description of me as a milking hefier. Sometimes feel like one. milk squirting everywhere in the shower etc. New brest pads with water resistant back is helping on the sogy T-shirt front now :)

balancingact · 23/03/2006 08:28

hi girls. had jack edward on sunday niight. 8 lbs 15 oz. unfortunately horror birth. 14hrs of labour, asked for epidural at 5 cm, pushed for 1 hour, n luck, tried ventouse, no luck, out via emergency c-section in the end. next day found out epidural puncture went a bit too far, had to do blood patch - where blood injected into spine to plug leak. still in hospital now but paying thru nose as dh moved me to private post natal as public one was too horendous. last straw when thet forgot to bring me lunch and meds yday. i want to go home! but jack v well. g luck with all of u, hope u have a better one than this.

jersey · 23/03/2006 08:30

Hi romilly thats ok thanks.

I'm 6 months next week so getting there, although there is so much to do before the birth that time is flying. I have a college course finishing when I am 37 weeks so hope this one is late Grin! I doubt I will be saying that nearer the time though.

Unfortunatley I suspect by BP is going up again already as getting flashing lights (first sign of pre-eclampsia last time) so fingers crossed. I'm seeing the midwife next week so see what she says.

Jackstini · 23/03/2006 11:44

Oh dear BalancingAct - sorry to hear about your nightmare experience but congratulations on Jack - bet he is worth all the hassle!

manicmumtobe · 23/03/2006 14:37

oh my god, big congrats to the too numerous to mention births but not many easy ones recently??! Have changed my mind, wanted to be early (due sun 26th)but now happy to hold on a bit longer, not mentally ready at all now!!!!
Thanks for support on bfeedibg info , will not make any rash decisions but am gonna go buy pump just in case:)
just wanted to send out big sympathies for those who had a rough time of births (VYY no surprise with your recent luck eh:) but still naff things to happen)and recent deaths...I wouldnt like not been told at all, but sure peoples hearts in right place when they thought they were doing the right thing.
Gonna go get hair done now, so glad I havent had to cancel it!!! Baby can come any time after today now! Sure this will be the last time for ages that something so vain and self indulgent will be my biggest worry of the dayGrin
Take care all!

Flamesparrow · 23/03/2006 14:44

Hiya, Just crashing to wish all those left on here good luck! I know how frustrated we were getting by this stage on the Feb list... lots of mood swings and alternating between wanting baby out NOW and wanting a few more days of peace (well, I was anyway!!)

Good luck everyone, you should all have little cuddly babies soon.

romilly · 23/03/2006 15:01

good luck to all you girls still waiting.

balancing act - sorry to hear you had a toughie - you quickly forget once you have that beautiful bundle in your arms though.

jersey - wow, 6 months already! sorry to hear you are having b/p problems too. be v. careful hon, and dont overdo it - p/e is not something to mess with. i had to really slow down and take it easy from about 30 weeks and i managed to avoid p/e. my bp was dangerously high at the end though.

romilly · 23/03/2006 15:03

p.s. our little beauty is still unnamed - poor mite! we are flitting between these three names:

romy - daisy - or lucie.

what do you all think?! Smile

zephyrcat · 23/03/2006 15:05

Hi all! Fantastic to see all these announcements still rolling in :) Sorry to hear about some of you having a tough time of it but hey, if I remember rightly after dd's birth, as horrendous as it gets they are so worth it all in the end!

I've got my appointment for my CS -finally! They've booked me in for April 5th so just missing out on a March baby! Am so excited but also a nervous wreck - cleaning frantically and still a million things to do/get!!

Good luck to everyone else still hanging in there! []grin]

romilly · 23/03/2006 15:22

Baby Roms birth announcement\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=43888&topicid=1370&threadid=158003&redir=43888\ here}

Astrophe · 23/03/2006 15:30

Oh Romilly, so glad to finally hear from you and glad you are ok despite such a long labour. Sounds like you did so well...obviously the proof is in the pudding...bet your little girl is beautiful!

My DD is called Lucia (we pronounce it the Spanish way - "Loo-see-ya", rather than the Italian "Loo-chee-ya"), So I really like Lucie too! But they are all lovely names...we considered Daisy for No. 2...but not great for a boy!

Perhaps she will just grow into one of the names as you get to know her? Have fun choosing and hope you are getting a bit of rest.

Munz · 23/03/2006 18:13

hay girls just wishing u all the best of luck, hoping Joey will start to settle down more at night so I can be more activer by day! lol.

is there many more to pop yet? in some ways I wanna go back by 4 weeks to when Joey was fresh off the press! lol, althou I am loving being a mummy!

Jackstini · 23/03/2006 18:16

Hi Rom - just read your birth announcement - wow what a long time.
Daisy is my favourite out of your names - just think it is soooooo pretty - just like you describe your dd!

helencook2711 · 23/03/2006 19:53

Hi all, congrats Balancingact on your new bundle, sorry to heat about the horror, far too many stories like yours about hospital recently-such a shame-don't worry about the cost now, live it up and be waited on for a few days!
Romilly, love all three names, my personal fave is Romy, v different, Daisy is mega cute, and my niece is Lucie and looks like a cherub so always conjures up cuties in mind!
Well today is/was aparently the day-yeah right, just have no feeling that this baby is ready at all, i don't really feel that i'm at the end yet (god i'll regret saying that!)

catj · 23/03/2006 22:04

Hi everyone! Congratulations on the new arrivals and hope everything picks up soon for those who have had a rough time. I've finally got round to writing my birth story \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1370&threadid=158130&stamp=060323215957\here}. Nothing particularly gory or dramatic though :)

Frizbe · 24/03/2006 08:52

Balancing act congrats on Jack, sorry to hear they've messed you up a bit tho, hope your on the mend and they let you out soon {{{Big Hugs}}}

Good luck to those still waiting {{{Big Hugs}}}

Klara · 24/03/2006 11:01

Wow - congratulations everyone - nearly all there now. Feeling a bit guilty as havn't been on here for ages due to a combination of laziness, computer problems and an overwhelming desire to sleep.
Quick question - had a show last night - how much longer am i going to have to wait for anything to happen? AM officially due on Sun....

laundrylover · 24/03/2006 14:26

Hi Klara, I had a show too last night but nothing else happening!! At least we are limbering up inside eh? I am now 5 days over and fed up!!!
Balancingact -I know two Romys but had never even heard of it as a name until a couple of years ago! Tilly's best buddy is a Daisy so I love that name too! Not much help am I???Grin

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 15:38

balancingact: Congratulations on your blue bundle. As for the birth, my heart goes out to you. What a horror show! I hope that you are making a full recovery in your expensive room. Try to enjoy the rest as much as possible and get well soon so that you can be back in your own comfy bed ASAP.

rom: Just to add to your confusion: My favourite of your names is Lucie!

Klara and Laundrylover: Not much longer now! As for timing, Klara I think that it can vary from hours to days. Seems to me that once I had the show with DD1 she was still not born for 2 1/2 days... never had one at all for DSs and DD2 was induced the day after I had one...

helencook2711 · 24/03/2006 15:39

Still here, and not going to say much else! Sounds like things are firing up Klara, and LaundryLover, wish I could say the same. Good Luck!.x

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 16:06

helencook: At least you are content to have the extra days... Just be prepared. Now that you have gone over it could be any minute.

Zephyr: Best of luck with the April 5 section. (one of our LO's is an April 5 baby!) Hope it all goes smoothly between now and then. Remind me: do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

newgirl · 24/03/2006 22:45

Hi everyone!

I've popped too! Polly was born on Tues by elective c-section a healthy 10lb 1 oz - do I win a prize? I'm really pleased to say that the elective was not like VYY and balancingact and was really easy - I came home two days later as felt so well so I am trying really hard to take it easy and not do too much. SO just in case anyone out there might be having one - it can be ok too.

So we are home and I now have hugely engorged boobs ouch. Polly was feeding fine until they came along and now is a bit intimidated. Midwife was really good today and helped so kindly that I have relaxed about it all now. Hope it calms down soon and gets to the nice and easy phase soooon.

VYY - sorry to hear about your tough experience - crikey. I like HelenCook's line - you are a wonderwoman!

Balancingact - it sounds like you are having an awful time. Your birth sounds like my first time. I hope you recover soon and are really kind to yourself with lots of fuss as you have been through so much. It will get better and I am sure you will start to enjoy it all sooner than you think. I bet you get home and breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Congrats to intgirl and rom too!!!! Love all those names rom - I don't know any romys so that would be a good choice. I would just say about Lucie that you might be asked to spell her name to people all the time like I do with dd1 so that might be annoying for you?

good luck to those waiting. see you on the other side!

Cadmum · 25/03/2006 00:50

newgirl: Congratulations! And YES, you should win a prize. what a lovely healthy size! It sounds absurd but if you can access some cabbage leaves, they really help with the discomfort of engorgement. Simply put one in each bra cup. It won't last long either way.

Frizbe · 25/03/2006 22:42

Wow newgirl, what a great size Grin congrats to you and your new addition Grin
